I took my mom to the salon to get her hair done & we were assigned Brittany. Unbeknownst to her, my mom has a very sensitive medical condition. As Brittany talked with my mom she quickly recognized that she needed to be gentle and make her feel confortable. Brittany did a great job assuring my mom she was in good hands by taking time to explain everything she was doing and using. In addition, she did not get offended when my mom asked her questions. She remained professional, included my mom in the decisions about her hair style choices and treated my mom with care. Not only did Brittany provide great personalized service, she also did a great job styling my mom’s hair and I was very pleased with the outcome! Again, Brittany did a great job and I was glad to have been paired with her & would definitely return and recommend her to anyone! Thank you Brittany!!

I asked specifically for an African-American stylus on four different occasions to no avail. I spoke to someone twice and left a message twice, I never received a return call! Forget it, I will not try again.

They did an amazing job with my kids hair. On of my kids has curly hair and they new how to cut it for it too look right, which is hard to find. They we careful because on has a sensitive scalp.

I dont get my hair done very often and tend to get anxiety around new people, so this was extremely important to me. I will definitely look forward to returning in the future.

I came in to cut my hair short, which I was pretty nervous about because I have curly hair, and I wasn’t sure if I could pull it off. Ryan was one of the best hairdressers I’ve ever had. He gave me a great cut, and he also kept a conversation going without losing focus. At the end he even gave me some shampoo and conditioner and some styling creames for my new hair with no charge. I was SUPER happy with everything there. Definitely go in to see Ryan.

Ryan matched my natural roots without coloring them. My hair looks amazing and the price was very affordable. He also took the time to recommend a wet brush and its the BEST for my thick and curly hair! My mother is making an appointment with him next. :)

I always go and have Ryan cut my hair. Even though I have short curly hair he always makes it look amazing. I have never been unhappy with a haircut and its been 3 years. He is able to keep up conversation but not to an excessive level. He is just super friendly and really knows how to style and cut hair!

This place is so horrible. I came in to get my roots colored and my hair toned. My hair looks so bad. Ive been crying for an hour. I wish I could post pictures to show how bad it looks. They made me pay for it even though it is no where near what I asked for. With a 30% discount, I paid $110 for the most messed up hair I have ever had in my life. They want me to come back tomorrow to fix it, but Ive already shelled out too much money and four hours of my time. Please, please, please do not come here! You will regret it.

I wanted my hair ombré and the lady didn’t even know what I was talking about obviously but didn’t tell me and just rubbed blonde at the ends of my hair like she knew what she was doing Nd then added more dark color to the top after she washed the bleach out because she went up my hair on the blonde to much, my hair was ruined Nd it didn’t look at all like it was suppose to I went back and the manager saw the work she did and gave me my money back but it’s still the fact that it took more products and money to be fixed by someone else. This was awhile back but my experience

My New Year’s Eve didn’t quite pan out as expected. I scheduled an appointment to get my hair done for a Gatsby look at JCPenney Salon at Lakeside Mall. When I got there, the lady that was supposed to do my hair wasn’t there so they set me up with someone else and her name was Reggie. Well, when I showed her the picture of what I wanted, this lady told me what I wanted was “too intricate” and she couldn’t and wouldn’t do it. So, she told me to look at books to pick a “very simple” style because there wasn’t enough time. She didn’t even tell me where the books were located. With none of her help, I spent 15 min looking for upstyles just for her to tell me “No.” “I can’t do that.” “I mean I guess I could try.” “I can do it but it won’t look like that.” “you should have come earlier. We about to close.” (I actually came in EARLY for my appt). she had something to say about every picture I showed her. FED UP, I told the lady, “I’ll pass.” And walked out. what kind of hairstylist are you that you can’t do any of the photos I show you? And what’s the point of setting up an appointment time of you are just going to tell me I should have come in earlier? The reason I chose that time is because IT WAS THE BEST TIME FOR ME. Isn’t that why you make appointments? My appt. was for 5:15 P.M. and I got there at 5:08. I even stated that I wanted a Gatsby look in the notes section when booking. Never again will I go to that place. TERRIBLE service and staff. Doesn’t even deserve 1 star.

Go anywhere else. Cut your own hair before going here. Went in for a trim and was there for 3 AND A HALF HOURS. My apt was for 11:30 and I was not taken until 12:10. Huge waste of time and very disappointed. If you plan to go free up about 4 hours of your day.

I was going to another salon inside a big box store when I decided quality mattered more than price. It took about 2.5 hours for a wash and blow dry. The price was double what I usually pay and I was told they couldn’t separate each service out. I was obviously double charged because I’ve been to another JCP salon where everything was itemized. Not really the place for me but there seems to be quality stylists working here.

So for Mardi Gras I was going to the Endymion ball for the first time. I went to a different salon to get a updo. It was a fairly simple updo. Had multiple pictures of the updo I wanted. The lady was horrible. I am never one to say anything usually but I wanted my hair to look beautiful for my first ball. It looked awful, I looked like Medusa. After the lady took 4 hours to still not get it right, refuse to ask for help and argued with me I left. I didn’t know what to do. I was in tears. I went over to the hair salon in jcpenny and asked if they could possibly save me. Ryan came up and said he could help me. He was so amazing. He undid the hell of a hairstyle I had before and turned it into exactly what I wanted. He was so sweet and funny and I am so grateful he helped me look so beautiful for the ball. Thanks for being my knight in shining armor that day ryan!!!!

I went to get a trim and the lady ripped out half my hair, & then cut off more then what I asked for. Horrible place for a haircut.

Alon Experience - Please do not go to the salon at JCPenney and have your hair styled by Saysha. I went as a new client and told her I am not one who likes to cut their hair. She said I needed my ends cut and that was fine. But she cut like 3-4 inches off my hair. I had hair that reached half way down my back. I ended up with hair just below my shoulders. I was devastated. Im still devastated and this happen in August. I dont know if she wasnt paying attention because all she did was talk. I should have known better because she had a client before and she cut too much of her hair. It took forever for my hair to grow and now I have to wait until it comes back. You trust that they know what they are doing because they are considered master stylist but this was terrible. I will never use their salon again.

I am hesitant to write this review because the young woman who did my hair was very polite and soft spoken. However, her skills are seriously lacking! I know that bad reviews can negatively impact a persons livelihood. But that is not my intention. It is my hope that she reads this and either decides to further her education in cosmetology or change careers altogether. Here are a list of my complaints.1. She was unable to give me the tapered cut that I wanted because she did not have clippers. I mentioned wanting a short cut when I made the appointment.2. She attempted to blow dry my 3c curly hair with a hard plastic bristled round brush.3. The blow dryer was way too hot. My hair is not that thick.4. When she applied the color she asked if I wanted it pulled throughout my hair. My response was I wanted to cover my grays. After washing out the color and partially blow drying, we noticed that I had a large patch of gray at the crown.5. During the second color application my scalp started to tingle, probably because the chemical was touching my skin!6. I told her that we could forego the blow dry and flat iron due to time constraints. I requested that she put in some leave in conditioner and do some finger curls. While attempting to define my curls, she said I dont know what Im doing .7. During my visit she started servicing two other clients. I arrived at noon, but didnt leave until well after 3:30.8. My hair didnt look any different except for the color.9. I paid 85.00 for mediocre service!
