Im actually surprised by the negative feedback Im seeing. I have been to this location twice, both times where positive. I purchased a lower and upper for a new at build which went smoothly. While waiting for the background check the young lady helping me was friendly and informative of the products and services the offer . The second visit was to purchase a stock for the new build. Again a pleasant experience. Yes their prices are as little higher but thats to be expected when the products are there and ready walk out the door with you as opposed to waiting on shipping. EVERYTHING is cheaper online, The benefit of being able to actually hold the item your interested in and get information from a professional is worth it to me. Their guns seem reasonably priced I bought an Anderson lower (forged) for $69 a whole $15 more than online and I took it home within an hour of walking in the door. Ill be a returning customer without question and possibly my new go to.

I went in to purchase ammo and ear protection. I just looked at a couple of firearms and the person who was helping me was very patient and answered all my questions. Great customer service and fair price on the ammo.

My son and I stopped in to look around. The employees were helpful and the shop was clean and well stocked.

My grandfather purchased an H&K VP9 SK and was extremely happy with the help Tom provided, he originally went to buy a different gun that was no longer there and Tom showed him some options and answered all of his questions A nice touch was their customer service rep coming and personally saying thank you for purchasing a gun from them. We would recommend Tom and the team to anyone and will definitely be back!

We were happy with our firearms purchase but we didnt have a great experience with the staff. All but 1 was incredibly rude and condescending, like they would talk about us to each other IN FRONT OF US. We also saw them be rude to a few other customers as well. Seems like they are looking for the right type of customers and women are not it. Looking forward to our next purchases at a different establishment with some personality and decency.

Come in about once a week and am always greeted warmly by the staff even though I almost never buy anything. Prices are about on par for the area. Definitely one of the better shops I’ve frequent.

Check other stores first. Such as AJI sporting goods or pistol parlour. This place is over priced on every firearm in there… and they use the typical “need to see it first” on trades even though I let them know the guns are brand new in the box never fired, still can’t give me a value without selling it. Worked sales for year good tactic and to waste your time and low ball you. WAY BETTER STORES IN THE VALLEY!!

Went in to inquire about their FFL transfer process/ fee (Since I had never purchased a firearm online I had questions). Eventually an employee came over and was able to answer the 2 questions I had.They ended up having the product(s) I wanted to order online in their store (Anderson lower/ build kit) and so I bought it. Price was a bit high but they are a business of course and for the convenience, it was worth it.The overall experience, however, was not pleasant by a long shot. The majority (2/3) of employees in there lacked customer service, and seemed that they were bothered I had even walked in. There was a bearded gentleman (perhaps the manager/ owner) who was a bit more enthusiastic and responsive.I will say they have a large inventory of firearms, and a nice spacious layout (hence the 3 stars). However, the employees conduct has convinced me not to return.

I needed help installing my new grip on my 2011 and came into Guns Etc desperate for help. Their Gunsmith, Joe came out and walked me through all the steps and had my gun put back together in under 20 minutes. I wish I would have come in sooner and saved myself the frustration of trying to figure it out myself. Im very happy with the service I received.

Top notch service at Guns Etc! The only gun store I visited in the past week (out of 7 total in my area) where someone asked if I needed help, instead of trying to flag someone down. Paula was an absolute pleasure to work with. She was very informative and thorough with her salesmanship. On top of the great interaction, Guns Etc was the only store that had what I was looking for, my first AR pistol, the Springfield Saint Victor. This is the only place I will frequent from now on based on my recent experience. Thank you for making me a permanent patron.

Unfortunately both of my experiences at Guns Etc. were beyond unsatisfactory. The first time, I purchased a gun online and picked it up at Guns Etc. They recommended a particular ammo. I used the gun several times only to have it jam and not cycle correctly. When I took it back in to get it fixed, they told me I was using incorrect ammo. They charged me $40 and used all of my ammo... Only left me one bullet to be exact (which was hidden underneath the foam of my case.) The employees were very rude and belittling. I will not be returning and I have told all my friends and associates to never visit this shop. Oh and my gun is still not fixed.. My solution, if the shop wants business in the future, would be to hire or teach the employees to be respectful, competent, and understanding of customers. Will the Webmaster respond?

I am not terribly surprised that this place only has a 3.5 rating. This was my 1st experience and interaction with Guns etc, and I understand that people have bad days every now and again. Some grace given. But it seems like a poor business model to hire individuals who are not just rude, but down right condescending. I am a new to the world of hunting. Im also in the military and truly understand the patience you have to have with greenhorns (FNGs). But my two questions were clear, concise, and totally reasonable. I wont name names because again I understand people are human and have bad days. But leave it at the door. Horrible 1st impression and unfortunately lost out on my business. I love supporting the small local shops but unfortunately reasons like these amplify the necessity for great customer service.

For it being my first time purchasing a fire arm. I asked for help and didnt receive any. I asked for something safe and he just pointed at the gun case and said any of em. And the gun I picked out ended up not having a safety. I asked for help finding a holster and he just pointed to where they were over there

Two guys in the store (Magnum Monday shirts) were awesome. They were patient, explained what I needed to know, helped me with paperwork and sold me two pieces with some ammo. Not their fault ammo is at a premium. Also, heard them on the phone with numerous callers, and they were professional each time. This will be my go to store now, as I build my collection.

Beware Liars! I recently went guns ETC to purchase a firearm. They displayed an M1911 on their shelf. I went to purchase but they said it is on hold because it’s being sold on consignment. They said they would hold it for me until May 9th once the firearm is cleared to be sold. They said it would be a guaranteed deal. They took the firearm off the shelf and put it in back and took down my information. I had a week to wait so I came in a few times to buy ammo and remind them of our deal about coming in to buy the firearm on the 9th. They said yep we’ll call you when it’s ready. The day came to buy the pistol and they told me they sold it when I went in personally to buy it. The manager says we don’t hold guns on consignment. I feel like this a bad way to do business to lie to customers. Don’t trust Guns ETC!

Took my gun in to get coated and my sights done and their gun smith Andrew was very friendly and helpful. Answered all of my questions and also replaced the hand guard on my dads AR swiftly. The guy at the register was also helpful and friendly as well would recommend these guys to anyone needing friendly reliable service

I bought a rifle and wanted a muzzle break installed. The gunsmiths there threaded my barrel and installed it in only a few days. They came in cheaper and more professional than others. Very very happy not to mention it looks great. A++++++

Bad customer service, toxic employees, literally have little to none ammo in stock and not helpful with understanding information about their ammo/guns. You would think with all the gun stores in AZ that they would have better customer service considering we can easily spend our money elsewhere. But now seeing all their bad reviews it makes sense.

Great store plenty of guns limited supply of ammunition

Another, “If I could give a zero stars I would.” The clerks are helpful and pleasant, but the owner is something else… Went in on 8/6/20 with goal of buying a .380 single stack carry weapon. Was sold an S&W Bodyguard 380 for $375. About $50 over market price. OK, guns are in demand these days.Took it to the range, found if I put full 6 rounds in the mag that it wouldn’t seat into the gun. So just used 5. Then found that the trigger pull would have to hit the back of the guard before the weapon would fire. That felt dangerous so I gave up after 10 rounds.Brought it back on 8/14 as unusable. Was told that this gun was a poor design and they are all like that. Both the magazine and trigger problems. “Would have been nice to know that before you sold it to me”, I said. Shrug shoulders. Well I feel it’s defective and unusable I want to return it for something else. (Owner consultation) Sorry, he said, it’s a used gun. The owner says he will give you $239 store credit for it. (after 8 days). “But it’s DEFECTIVE”. Shrug shoulders.So rather than hassle I bought something else, paid $140 more difference. At checkout I asked for my promised $20 retired military discount. The owner said “NO, it’s already been figured in to the $239 credit”, so in effect I got $219 back.Bottom line, $375 -$219 boils down to paying $156 for an 8 day rental of a gun that an ethical establishment should have cautioned me about.This boiler room is focused on taking your money without regard to the suitability or your satisfaction with the purchase. STAY AWAY!!

Prices are fair but customer service is hit and miss. Most employees are rude and seem to care less whether or not they get your business.

*updated review*After getting a call that I had my AR mag loader ready for pickup I went to go get it, and the gentleman who helped me said that my ammo had been ordered that morning and it should be here pretty quick... and by pretty quick i mean i got a call the next day and was told that my ammo was ready for pickup. I will say that as if now I will definitely be returning here for future business.Have heard mixed reviews about this place but I was willing to give it a shot. I went to place an online order and was having trouble on my end so I printed out what I had in my cart and decided to bring it in to the store to see if an employee could help me out, luckily someone was able to, they took a look at the printouts of what I had in my cart online and he said okay Ill go ahead and order it in for you and it should take about 7-10 business days, and he asked me to leave my phone number so that I may be notified of when my order arrived. I did just that and it has now been almost a month since I was told 7-10 business days kinda disappointed and would appreciate an explanation.

So my review ends amazing but starts terrible so bear with me ..... lol 🐻 . Anyways, I went to route 66 pawn and bought an AR15 the fowling in it was so bad I broke a cleaning rod off in the barrel . I went to guns etc for a scope and found out my rifle was in terrible shape that i couldnt have done in the 3 months i owned it. They soaked all night and still the damage was too bad to do anything with the barrel . They didnt charge me the labor and set me up with a new barrel that works with my current gas system . The guys there are also very knowledgeable about gun laws as well as hunting laws and regulations. This place is amazing simply amazing. Andrew is great but dont let him being off stop you from asking questions or shopping there. Also to confirm race doesnt matter my wife is from Mexico she loves the place

Was told they had a 20moa mount for my rifle and to bring it in so I drive across town to be told they dont have anything like that, the guy didnt even know what I was talking about I had to explain it to him. They were told it was for a 1 piece rail, and I was told you had several in stock, Then was told to bring my rifle in cause it was a pre 64.

The gentleman that helped me throughout the purchase process was friendly and knowledgeable. He helped me find a great holster as well. My name is Christian O’Horo I have been a Guns Etc customer for a long time. In 2015 I was actually a customer within your top 5 customers for the year. I have bought numerous firearms, suppressors, Safes, and equipment. While buying ammo today. I asked whether he needed to look me up by account or whether he needed a card for military discount because I didn’t recognize him. The gentleman in the “shell back” hat said we don’t do that. My purchase today was over 600 today and it will be the last one I will do there. I’m sorry Justin I will not recommend anyone over there anymore. I bought ammo a week ago with military discount on my account.

I wanted to buy a new handgun, S&W Shield 9mm M2. Staff was very helpful and had great info and advice. I would recommend this store.

I thought this place was pretty cool friendly place but after waiting almost a month for an online order. Look I understand shipping and all that but just maybe a call like an update you know little better customer service. When I call and youre extremely rude over the phone because Im curious on whats going on with my order is bad customer service. Think that you guys can do a little bit better. We all should respect and be polite to each other.

Place has a small selection of firearms and accessories however the staff is courteous and helpful if you ask questions. Ive seen the reviews that they are rude and standoffish but you have to understand this is a gun store not Toys r us. They are veterans and will help as needed. Ive made in store and online orders with no issues. The FFL fee WAS paid toward ammunition and cleaning supplies as advertised WITHOUT me having to ask. So overall good shop!

I’ve been to Guns Etc a couple of times and never purchased anything unfortunately. I just bought a new pistol and wanted a holster for it. This was the only gun shop in the Chandler/Gilbert area that didn’t make me feel like a criminal when I brought in my pistol not in a case or holster. They were very understanding and gave me exactly what I wanted. There was even one shop that made me put my pistol into a plastic bag before entering the store.Thank you Guns Etc! We have been going to the black Friday sale for 3 or 4 years now, this year we werent too impressed. However there selection is good and they offer great service.

Guns Etc has been around for absolutely ages! This place has been around longer then most. This is your typical strip mall styled gun store where you get a very, small business, mom and pop atmosphere that is very cozy.

If you want to be condescending to, ripped off and feel all around taken advantage of this is your shop. If you want to feel valued as a customer and respected as a human being go to Az firearms in gilbert or Tempe. Those are real gun people. The staff at guns etc is the absolute worst and ownership beats them by a mile.

Not friendly at all. Customer service was terrible. The pawn shops are way better than this Gun Etc. The pawn shop offered a way better buying experience. There is a general elitist attitude anytime I set foot in this store. When you first walk in no one greets you. In fact the tension in this place is so thick.I was looking for a rifle sling with ammo caddy I was told we are not a hunting store try bass pro shop.In general I suggest if youre looking for anything firearms do NOT patronize this establishment. I have been a customer here for a long time. But my fire arm from here. That buying experience as well as every time I returned has been unpleasant. I am finally fed up.I will not be spending any more time and money with Guns Etc.My advice to the people go to Tombstone Tactical, The Pawn Experts down the street get good selections in their store. Tombstone Tactical off i17 in Phoenix is legit. Very clean and professional establishment. Staff if knowledgable and more importantly friendly and inviting.

Great gun shop. Very helpful employees. I had a new shotgun that I could not get the barrel separated from the receiver. Employee took 20 minutes, a little gun oil and effort to separate for me. I very much recommend. Nice selection of guns and equipment to chose from too.

I have purchased over $10k worth of pistols, rifles, ammo, optics, accessories and gear from Guns Etc over the past few years. I live in Chandler AZ now, where I am a few miles away, but that is just a recent development. Most of the time I have lived in AZ I have lived in North Scottsdale and I would drive out of my way for Guns Etc. They always have solid prices, quality product, excellent staff, who are very helpful and allow me to indulge me in the excessive “can I hold that one?” request when buying a new pistol or rifle. I’ve never had a problem with the new or used purchases. I will continue to favor them and bring them my business!

Great experience shopping for our first home defense pistol.After visiting 6 other gun shops and a big outdoor goods store we went to Guns Etc. We did not expect to purchase since the others did not have the right firearms in stock. Alex and Brady listened to our needs and showed us 3 pistols. After telling them what I did not like about those, they handed me a Springfield 911. We loved that piece but already knew its price was too high. They showed us their price on the tag and we made the purchase. Guns Etc was large, clean, well organized, and the staff friendly and helpful. It was worth the 90 minute drive.

I was a customer when they were in their old location they were rude and arrogant. they moved to a new location, jacked their prices up and became even more rude and arrogant. will never ever spend money or time here again, And will advise others to never step foot through their door.

This is an edited review. I could write an essay on how over the last 20 years customer service has gone down the tubes. Ron the owner of this company has built the great business and been a staple of the community for a long time. I do however feel that do to online sales the local customer has become unappreciated. Lets just say I had a bad experience here however one of the employees Paula stepped up to go above and beyond and save face for the company in which she works. Great job Paula! Any companies should be greateful to have you and they should model their customer service on your behavior and actions. Thank you!

The reason for the rating is due to the fact that I had purchased an company made AR 15 from this company and not even a year of having it I noticed that something was wrong with my rifle. When I had time i brought it back to the store and ask to speak with someone to correct my issue, well with out even asking probing questions to see if it wasnt operators error the person behind the counter just automatically stated I needed to deal with the manufacturer, well I replied lucky I am here, your store built the rifle......

Staff has always been helpful to me. Helped me out a great deal with information and suggestions. However, their inventory is definitely WAY over priced. Great place to look at specialty firearms, but I suggest you order from somewhere else. AZ Guns, also in Chandler, beats Guns Etc. in price by a LOT.

The AK I was looking to get had custom parts on it that i was unaware of. I really liked the configuration, minus a couple pieces here and there, so they worked with me and lowered the price significantly. My sister has gotten a few firearms from them before and this was my first visit based on her recommendation. Ill definitely be coming back.

Hit or miss. (Ba dum). The selection is pretty good, prices not so much. It depends on who you get. Some of the staff is AMAZING. Some...not so much. I had one employee help me identify what was wrong with my AR, and then helped me fix it over the counter, and only charged me a couple of bucks for the part. He even took it in the back and test-fired it for me. Awesome, right? Next time I went back in, I got one of the rudest people Ive ever met as a sales associate. So yeah, take your chances I guess. To be fair, I dont think the rude guy was a regular employee, he may have been a gunsmith or the owner or something.They do have a charming dog that works there. He (she?) will come out and say hi while youre perusing.

Welp; been going there more than 20 years, but Im finally done. Ron (owner) is a nice guy, however he has poor choice in hiring. The prices are high, and the customer service is low. Not sure why anyone would go there. Go to Pistol Parlour or Merchant if you have gun needs; Kodiak Precision or Accuracy Speaks if you need a smith. Both are far more service oriented, and better prices also.

I went in to buy a shotgun. I know what I want, I even found it in the store. But the only person that said anything to me was the nice lady at the door. Thats $600 plus going somewhere else. If you dont want to be bothered and like to look around, this is the store for you.

I had a small issue when I installed a new trigger in my pistol, so I brought it here for a quick diagnosis and or fix. It was a minor issue, and just needed 5 minutes of the gunsmiths time, but apparently, that was a bit much to ask for. I explained the issue to the smith, and was instantly given an attitude. The smith rolled his eyes at me, gave a loud sigh, and said, fine, sign it in I guess, Ill take a look at it in a few days. I told the smith it was a minor issue, and would only take 5 minutes of his time, and that I was leaving town for work and that this particular pistol was my carry gun, but he insisted it was a more complex problem than that. Really? You dont even look at it but you know its a complicated problem? Well, I took the pistol home, diagnosed the problem myself and gave it a quick fix. Ultimately, knowing what I know now, I was right and the issue could have been addressed by a trained gunsmith in less than 5 minutes.What a waste of my time.

The people there are very nice and knowledgeable. I brought my sw 9mm in to get it repaired and they fixed it right then and there. It was ready to go in 15 minutes and even better it didnt cost much. Thank you guns etc. I will be coming back for any my firearms needs.

I called to ask about a red dot and was told they had them in stock. They had the dot I was looking for and the other stores in the area did not. I did need the dot for shooting the next day so I drove over. I was not greeted but did receive assistance as soon as I asked. The sales person I was working with took the time to walk me through both lower priced and higher priced dot outside of the option I came in in for. He spent about 30 minutes showing me all the pros and cons of the multiple dots. I did purchase a better dot than I went in for but was charged an incorrect amount. Everyone makes mistakes so no big deal. The only issue was upon noticing, I had to drive all the way back to have the price adjusted/corrected. Overall, I had a good experience with the company and was given a very fair price on the dot I purchased. I cannot said avoid this place, I went in after reading all the reviews, and my experience was different from those of the reviews.

Great store overall. They actually have an entire rack of left handed holsters there.Today was an anniversary. Long line, which is good to see if youre not waiting in it. Wanted to buy something, but the line just wasnt moving. Asked an employee about it and was told that the people doing background checks were holding up the line. Why not have them step aside and ring up the other people?

As we were talking to the cashier, another man working there knew the gun we were looking for because he had just stocked up on them that day, walked out with a very nice el patron. For all the hype in their ads, this place was very disappointing. Our associate JDana (on receipt?) had zero personality. Although he did try to help us find a holster, his lack of interest in trying to sell us a gun was shocking. When I asked him about upcoming gun shows, he didnt know anything. Theyre prices were outrageous on .22 handguns. I definitely wont be returning to Guns Etc.

Owner does not care about race, my family from Mexico and Im first generation American. Stop playing race card and claim to be American if born here. My daughter and i have purchased firearms from here and staff very helpful. Took concealed class and learned a lot.

Very knowledgeable staff. Friendly and helpful. Prices are fair and reasonable. I keep returning for more and they give military and veteran discounts. Always satisfied.

I have been an off and on customer with this shop for about a decade now. Until recently that is. The last time I decided to patron this shop was the last after the worst customer experience I have ever heard about.They hired some younger guys guys, specifically a Vet by the surname Connors. Him along with the lesser employees apparently make it a habit to disrespect and blatantly mislead customers into buying the wrong product so they can laugh about it among themselves later about it. I used to recommend this shop, even back when they were in the old tiny building and had limited stock for us AR guys. I bought my first handgun from them.Now I warn everyone away, because of their younger obviously immature staff. This is something I have heard from other members of the shooting community as well. I will take my business elsewhere from now on. Maybe they will get the hint that customers are not to be treated in such a manner.Really a shame, because I really liked dealing with Ron.

I have been in this place 3 times. Each time the employees are rude and very stiff. Bought a gun from them and have had another gun worked on from them. They got the job done each time. Thats why they are still getting 3 stars. but if you have the option to go anywhere else I would. Rude staff and slightly high on prices.

Gun has taken over 5 weeks and still no guns and I understand but the customer service is just terrible called two times and got blown off and this supposed to be such a crazy time you think they would be understanding and willing to get a firearm in your hand quickly

Lovely experience, I came in with my friend we both bought handguns we where helped by a gentleman named Brady very helpful and friendly guy 10/10 would recommend you atleast check them out that you for everything!
