Highest regard to those at Bergeron Engineering and Marine. I call them yes people. Yes because where others shake their head when I have an idea to make or improve something, the people at Bergeron take a look at it, give their opinion and say this is the way it can be done! I like that. It is what I call core hot rodding, making things out of nothing and making existing things better. Have known of them since the 1970s and have dealt with them since the early 1990s. Originally, they helped me extensively on my Rogers jet. Lots of knowledge and very fair dealings. Later, Bergeron helped me with many custom engine related parts for drag racing/hot rodding. Then, when I bought a v-drive, Bergeron advised and helped me extensively again improving this boat, making it faster and safer and more reliable too. Non better in the industry IMO.

Yes, good prices as other have stated, but more importantly, the knowledge, talent and skill to work on all sorts of boats and ability to fabricate just about anything, invaluable if your boat is classic and parts are scarce. Phenomenal work!

I have taken my boat to this company since 1980. Always treated fair on prices and they do the best job ever on repairs. I went to another marine shop once, big mistake on my part. I am a meticulous boat owner. As someone with an engineering background I know my way around electro-mechanical things and have good automotive mechanical skills. That said, there are times to enlist the services of an expert. In this, Bergeron Engineering is just great. Twice now I have had issues with my boat that seemed to defy the laws of physics and common sense. And each time the good folk at BE not only diagnosed the problem and repaired it, they took the time to explain in detail how they found the issue and affected the repair so that I may do so myself should it occur again. That to me, is unusually good customer service.Additionally, for those who have had less than a 5 star experience, that comes with owning a boat. Even the best shops and technicians can have things that are very tough to fix. It is important to understand boats operate in crazy difficult conditions. They take a beating, run engines in a manner no car or truck could survive, are subjected to lots of humidity, and sometimes owners who are less than consistent in their care and maintenance.For the person who fixed their trim motor problem by disassembling, then reassembling the unit, I am glad for you the unit works. But will it be consistently reliable? Perhaps, but not likely. That the manufacturer no longer provides replacement parts is not the problem of Bergeron Engineering. It is not good business practice to disassemble and reassemble any complex component to discover that it now works and then return the boat to the customer. Statistically that is a recipe for many returns and dissatisfied customers. That process is also quite expensive for the customer. No shop could or would warranty such work.I am a very discerning customer when it comes to my cars and boats.For a shop to earn my trust and confidence requires some extraordinary reputation, referrals and actual work performed on my vehicle. In this, Bergeron Engineering has been great.

Did the work quickly for a good price on my 4 hp outboard. Recommended I change some additional parts, but I opted not to at the time. They made the changes anyway, and did so on the house. They seem to really care about the experience out on the water as much as in the shop.

These guys have a lot of experience in the marine industry and are very friendly! Never disappointed with there service.

Needed a bilge blower. This is a compact boat motor and outdrive repair. They also have parts to sell. Must s schedule for repairs. Very busy now.

Phil and his entire staff have never been anything but honest and helpful to me. They also did an incredible job on rebuilding the top half of my Alpha drive.

By far the best place to buy boat part and get your boat serviced they are always very helpful and knowledgeable.

I took my formula to Bergeron and dealt directly with Mr Bergeron. He was to completely inspect the engine and ad additional parts as required He billed me over $8400.00 I took the boat to the lake where after 30 minutes on the water the engine stopped and needed to be towed back to the marina. I took the boat back to Bergeron Engineering where they reinspected and told me it was ready to go The same process happened 3 more times and after the 3rd time taking it back to Bergeron he refused to fix the problem leaving me with an engine failure and an $8400.00 bill The business is a fraud and disreputable =Never have them work on your boat. They have substandard work and do not stand behind their repairs at all. Beware and go someplace else

I dropped my power tilt and trim off with Bergeron on Monday April 11th, 2016 and was told they wouldnt be able to get to it until April 19th, 2016 which I did not mind the wait if they could fix it. On Monday April 18th, 2016 I recieved a call from Bergeron at which time they told me they could not fix my power tilt and trim due to mine being discontinued, along with all the parts that go to it. They also could not tell me why it wasnt working. Anyhow, they told me I could buy a new power tilt and trim for $985 or a part they think MAY fix it for $850 ish.With that said I was quite upset about thinking I may have to throw down $985 for a new power tilt and trim. So with the bad news on my mind I went to Bergeron and picked up my power tilt and trim. With the thought of having to payout $985 for a new power tilt and trim, I decided I was going to completely take mine apart and try to figure it out why it wasnt working. Keep in mind I have zero marine mechanical training or auto mechanical training at all.As such, without having any knowledge whatsoever about hydraulics or power tilt and trims, due to having owned my first boat for less than two months now, I completely disassembled my power tilt and trim more than once, fiddled with its parts despite having no clue what part makes what part do what, then refilled it hydraulic fluid, and guess what? I got it to WORK!!!!I have absolutely no clue what I did to get my power tilt and trim to work but it does, and thats all that matters. Take what you will from my review but I doubt I will be going back to Bergeron.

Thanks for working on my older boat 21 Four Winns . Took it out to the lake and it ran like it was brand new ! He worked on it when nobody else would touch it because it is an older boat with parts hard to find . Thats why this place has stayed in business for over 40 years !
