Who does not love this place? The are pricy but the merced store is closing and they have discounted prices. No matter what store I have been in their customer service had always been spot on. No looking for sales people and no cluttered and broken items.

They are closing the store... Some items are still high priced... Not much left in there except lots of pillows, all kinds of chairs furniture, lots of candles, glassware, some dishes...oh yeah! Rugs or outside mats I didnt make any purchases not much caught my eye. And if it did it was pricey.

They are going out of business in Merced. The prices are very high.

This location is far from the standards of other Pier 1 stores. On January 2, 2018, our local Pier 1 located 2 serving bowls for me in the Merced store. I paid for the bowls and $17.50 for shipping. Merced store promised to have the bowls to me by Friday January 5, 2018.On Friday of the following week, the bowls still had not arrived. The manager at our local store called Merced and was told they hadnt found a box to ship them in but they would send them out Monday, January 15th. Both the manager at our local store and I wondered about this excuse as they have shipping boxes in stock all the time.The box arrived today, it was a flimsy box that looked like it had been used many times over and the bowls WERE SHATTERED. Whoever had packaged them used a sheet of paper between the bowls and stuffed a small piece of bubble wrap in the bottom. There was no way these could have survived even CARRYING them from the store to the FedEx truck!I am appalled, and very angry as this is just bad business and incompetence. Pier 1 Corporate has been advised of this fiasco by our local store who is making good on it. Absolutely awful customer service!
