Great store! I shop there all the time. Watch out what time you go though, because its a mad house sometimes! Early in the morning is the best time to go shopping tbere.

Definitely not the best Walmart Ive been to. Such a strange layout, you usually expect the produce/frozen goods to be to the left or right as soon as you walk in. However, I did a full lap around Walmart before realizing the produce is slapped right in the middle of the store. On top of that, the selection of produce was very slim. Not sure if I just went at a bad time but I was unable to find a lot of the products I was looking for (eggs, limes, mayonnaise, the list could go on). Needless to say, I ended up just abandoning my cart and going to Food 4 Less.

One of our favorite stores. They carry everything one could need. Good location. Plenty of parking. Convenient hours.

Always good clearance finds. I use the app to scan the tag and sometimes I get amazing deals. Customer service is good. But every Walmart just about now have self checkouts and most of the time they dont take cash just card so its very inconvenient if youre paying with two different types of tender

The lines was short and quick. The prices could have been better. The security needs more knowledge on who to follow and who not to follow. The cashier was polite and it wasnt really packed at that time like it usually be.

This location is a nightmare. It’s a small cramped old-style Walmart which is packed with people and very stuffy. It’s difficult to push a cart around due to the narrow isles and overcrowding of typical rude clientele. Honestly, they should build a super center to handle the population of Merced.Do NOT pay for Walmart Plus! It’s a rip off. I thought paying $98 a year for a grocery delivery would be convenient since I am disabled and cannot drive. Unfortunately they do not deliver meat products and packaged potato salad. All that must be picked up. Lastly, they use DoorDash drivers so you must tip on top of it.

Walmart is Walmart....but had a great experience this evening with a manager of some sort named Dennis as we were checking out (he had to void something for another cashier while we were waiting). It was really busy and not too many smiles around, but he stayed smiling and had a super positive attitude. Thank you Dennis for keeping positive:)

I went to the VISION CENTER in wal-mart. I love how helpful they are and they wetter able to answer a lot of questions I had for the eye doctor as well..... my husband recieved his sun glasses he paid for and both are great!

I’m extremely disappointed in this store. I went in on a Saturday morning and it was busy but only one resister was open (aside from the self check out). It was extremely understaffed, which is especially hard if you need someone to open a locked item. When I went to check out, a family of 5 behind me asked a clerk if there were any bags and there were NO BAGS at any of the registers—not even the ones to purchase for a dollar. I had my reusable bag and gave it to the family since they needed it more than me, but it just goes to show the management is not organized enough to order or put out more bags. @management please do better by your customers!

The inside of all Walmart seem so familiar. I only realized I was miles from home and unfamiliar with the city I was in when I walked outside this Walmart. Lol....I did find what I was looking for and ran into a great worker in the self checkout lane. She helped me to delete an item I realized I didnt want. She was very helpful and most of all polite.

So Im normally not one to complain about a stores policy as far as theft prevention goes, but Walmarts really gone all out as far as separating each and every department requiring you to get individual help unlocking cabinets for almost everything as well as separate transactions and receipts at every single department only to have them stop you at the front door and check every single one of the receipts. It seems a little out there and ridiculous for every single person. Anyway other than that its an alright store good deals on clothes. Some of the workers could be a little kinder more user friendly.

I gave it 3 stars cause they had everything I needed. There customer service wasnt so great. The whole time I was there only one person asked me if I needed help. Far as Im concerned every employee should greet you or ask if you need something!!!!

Recent experience with Walmart was outstanding. Was greeted nicely and provided with a mask for protection. Thank you Walmart as I forgot my mask at home!

The electronics department staff is on point they know there product, this guy took his time to tell me what are good sellers in head phones and broke down the pros and cons of each brand.. in the end I got the soundcore liberty 2 pro series and they are amazing... by far the best ear buds I ever bought and the nice cancelation technology is superb it even works on the person your taking to on the phone they dont hear anything either like a train she said she didnt even hear the train and I was sitting literally 50 to 60 feet from the tracks

This WalMart needs training and attention. Theres never enough cashiers. The restrooms have been a mess for over a year now. Always dirty 2 stalls have been out of order for a long time and one of the functioning stalls doesnt have a lock. There is only one pump for hand soap for the 3 sinks.

If I could give this store a zero I would. Everytime I go in everything is out of stock that you need. Today I needed water and there was nothing on the shelves. Not even a gallon of water. Either too lazy to bring it or not ordering enough when they put the order in. All the clerk could tell me was people buy a lot of it. If you know that order extra since its been hot all summer long. No excuse for the whole water section to be empty.

Went today with a co-worker to get a few more gifts to put in our Christmas Stores, where we offer gifts that have been donated to the non-profit LifeLine Community Development Corporation of Merced County (CDC) we work for to the parents near us at a discounted priced (80% off original price...a $20 gift cost.the parents $4...) at our work sites (myself in Merced at LifeLine Loughborough Community Center located in the Merced Meadows Apartments in Apt #59 and my coworker Marci in Winton at Winton LifeLine Community Center located at 7081 N Winton Way) for older girls and boys age groups...And there were quite a few creative craft type sets for $10-$13 each (like Personalize your own Water Bottle, Personalize your own Mermaid Tail bank, Make your own Hair Scrunchies, Decorate/Color your own Messenger Bag, etc and so much more) that it made it a little hard for us to decide on what to get and how many of each to buy (and lol wish we could try them out 😋)....I have included a few pictures of some of these gift sets that Walmart has and that we chose too...

This store use to be well stocked and care about their customers. Now not so much.. They lost their inspirational magic. Merced people are having to go to neighboring cities to shop.

Standard wal mart order. Relying on self checkout. With only 1 cash register open. Otherwise the store was pretty clean. I know thats how they keep costs down, but it makes the experience less ideal.

Always very clean, well stocked, and their customer service is always great.Unfortunately, since the self check out area opened up, there is only ever one cashier operated register available, which makes alcohol and tobacco purchases timely.Another downside is the increase of locked cabinets. There has been multiple occasions where the service reps couldnt locate the keys to access the locked up items. I have waited over 45 minutes yet still no keys, which must be bad for sales.

Atwater Walmart was horrible. They never have anything. Customer service is awful. When I was there the other day, their whole system went down. I left the store. I am debating whether to go back or not. Not worth going.

I dont think any department store as large as Walmart could keep a five star review. Department stores by design are rough around the edges. This is as good of a Walmart as Ive ever seen.

Its a typical Walmart. There seems to be a lot of stock in the aisles waiting to be put away. Some items are still out of stock, my husband was looking for some car detailing items and they were out. They do have good prices. I was there to pick up 1 hour photos. They came out well.

Its Walmart. Everything is ok, until you need to check out. 20+ staff walking the floor, but only one on register, one on self check-out, and one on security (gate greeter). Check-out usually takes around 30-45 mins on a normal day after school hours. Less if you come earlier.

Ever try and call this ghetto store?They give you four options then say to use 0 for an associate. Let it ring for (according to timer on cell phone) almost 5 minutes before somebody picked up the receiver and slammed it down. Drove by the store and stopped in and spoke with (I think it was the manager but if it was my business, she wouldnt be working) and she apologized and said they were short handed!Short Handed?????? There is nothing about being short handed that contributes to employees being down right rude!!!!!!And how come they got 25 cash registers and only maybe 3 open???? Been like that from about a mon th after they opened. Must be that short Handed staff problem!!!!!

Stuff are usually not stocked. Dont bother calling, they hang up on you most of the time. I only called 8 times so far, but was hanged up on 5 times. Most things are locked up and wait time for them to open up the glass to get products is usually 30 mins to a hour for each item. Lines are long because they only have 1 or 2 cashiers most of the time. I recommend Atwater Walmart

Omg never have I been so insulted one of the lead staff went on a tangents then tried to attack me when my husband stopped her she then threatened his life saying shes getting her cumin to come shoot him!!!! Mi d u tired time in a row same woman was rude if shes not fired Im suing this store

Its rare to find true customer care at this particular Wally World. Most employees are somewhat flippant the times Ive frequented there, in my experience. Recently, there was ONE employee who was incredibly helpful, knowledgeable & happy to help; in other words: he was DOING HIS JOB...& seemed to take his training seriously. If you dont have the capacity to be respectful or helpful in a customer service position, DONT APPLY FOR A JOB THAT REQUIRES THIS OF YOU. Be a friggn truck driver! Jeez.

Went there today in Merced. I thought I could run in and get some distilled water and a child gate. While my husband and 92 year old mom in the car. Well, the distilled water was far back on the top shelf. I had to search for an employee to help me. I found him and couldnt reach it either. So he grabbed a cane to hook them. He was very nice. Next grab a gate. Got that. Now to quickly check out. Wishful thinking. Went to the garden center, where I came in. But no cashier. So the door person told me. Back Across the entire store to find another line. Scan and go line long and most registers closed. So I look for another option. The registers open had lines 2 to 3 isles deep. I get in the shortest line I can find. Oh for heaven sake! So I waited. My mom calling. What is taking you so long? Ask for a manager, but none to found. The girl said would be here in a minute but I was long gone. Even after waiting 20 min to pay. I pay and back across the store to the garden center where I came in. Customers in line there but no one getting checked out. Only the door person. Who told me no check out there was standing at a register. The manager should be accountable for making people wait longer to pay than they spend time shopping. Very poor management.

Always good better to just shop there and not use the pick up....everytime we used the pick up something always went wrong, missing items or having to substitute. Then Id get off to go check and all items that were listed as out of stock were on the shelves so I just rather shop all at once then to use pick up because they never got my order right.

Dont cram the aisles full of pallets of product. Hire staff that knows where product is. Never seen more than 1 cash register open even if theres a huge line. Dirty store, just like every other walmart. Pathetic customer service!

Staff/employees are unorangized! Due to POOR management or workers just dont care. Youll wait for a long time until someone comes to help you out. Almost everything is littery lock up (products/items/ect). Front check out line is horrible. Youll see bunch of other employees walking around and check out lines are so back up they only open two lanes. You have like 5 wrkers at the self check out line lol. Even when you ring for help at certain areas you can see other employees walking away or just taking their time. Youll noticed when its bizzy, no employees are found but when its slow, Youll see them walking around and standing around talking to each other. I would rather go to target but since target doesnt have alot of outdoor iteams im stuck with walmart.

I know most walmarts are pretty bad but this is the worst. Everything is in locked cabinets and its impossible to find someone with the key to open it. For some reason they have 1 key that only one person gets. Average trip is over an hr and 90% of your time is looking for the person with the key. After they take your item out of they cabinet they have to take it to the front where it usually gets lost so good luck if you need multiple items from different cabinets. Dont ask the employees anything because their answer is always they dont know. They only keep 1 cashier at a time the rest are self checkout. Pretty sure all the terrible memes and jokes you hear about walmart are spawned from this location.

Homeless all over the place and they do nothing about it. Nasty dirty filthy 😈 pigstye. Not enough handicapped parking as half of what used to be handicapped is now pharmacy and pick up orders when there is another spot that would work better for that. They only have handicapped walk in distance if you have someone driving you. Only one electric cart that is either broken or uncharged.They obviously dont want business from the handicapped.Atwater store is even worse.Is why I havent shopped at Walfart in over a year and I would rather die than ever go in one of those shitshops again

This Walmart could be better, I honestly see this Walmart as unorganized compared to the other Walmarts I have been to. If the aisles were switched to the front instead of the frozen foods it would look much better. In general, it is okay for buying soaps, frozen food, snacks, or drinks such as caparisons for a road trip. If you are looking for something specific though, half the times I have gone to look for something specific, they did not have it or they did not have it in stock.

California Wal-Marts are different, everything is under lock and key, even men boxer shorts. Not really a reflection on Wal-Mart but more on the type of people that live in the area i suppose.

Dont waste your time if you value it going to this store. They certainly do not care about your time. Literally one register open on any given day. Excuses aplenty from management. Go to Target and be happy. I will shop other Walmart stores but wont go back to this one anytime soon.

Went to pick up my purchases from curbside pickup today. Good customer service. Jeremiah was very nice brought my items out in a timely manner. Will do curbside pick up again.

Theyre very unorganized they lack communication skills customer service every employee of theirs seems annoyed to just be there its rare that you find good employees but other than that Id rather not waste my time the lines are ridiculously long and I cant express it enough how rude unprofessional their employees are there like I said its rare that you find anybody that was willing to help without an attitude

Absolutely the WORST customer service of ANY Walmart. This store and the Manager can care less about you and your time. They clearly do not want to be employed anywhere and do not care if you are here or not. I feel sorry for all the good people that work for the company because Merced Management is non existent.

Found what I was looking for!!! I can enter with a 4 item list and leave with 20 items easily and for sure forget at least one of the items in the list.

Walmart is pretty clean down the aisles and where the merchandise is at. The restrooms are clean and they do have a changing table in there... the people at customer service where you do returns are friendly the lines are okay they need to call back up a little quicker especially on holidays like Valentines Day they have a McDonalds inside... an optical store... an automotive area..a pharmacy... frozen foods... packaged Foods as well as fresh fruit and vegetables they have a pet section clothing section jewelry section..a garden center. Be careful in the parking lot there are a few peddlers asking for handouts. Almost Everything is locked up now..be prepared to come with patience because you can wait up to 20 min for certain products because associates are assisting many people.

The glasses department is a great place to get new or replaced. Mr. Springer, OD knows what you are needing and sales representatives are very helpful and not pushing sales for the expensive frames .I really recommend that you go and get glasses through that eye store

I stopped by to pick up a prescription curbside. It was a hassle free experience. Drove into the designated parking, called the number and waited about ten minutes then a very nice young lady brought out my medication. Very happy with the service .

The Walmart in Merced is the nastiest store I have ever been in. Not only that, I put 4 quarters in a vending game machine which ate my quarters. The thing is tho that 4 employees saw me put the money n knowing the machine didnt work and then told me they couldnt do anything about it an that I would have to call a 1.800 # on the machine. Please please, dave yourself the trouble and do not shop here!

I was there 20 minutes before I got help at least when I waited 30 minutes more after they went looking for the package I actually had to go to The Swinging Doors myself and ask the guy if my package was there and he found it within 2 minutes its ridiculous that that was supposed to be faster pick up online order

Only because 0 stars are not an option. Only come here if you have 2+ hours to wait for an associate as EVERYTHING is locked up and you have to pay for each thing in there dedicated location so your card will be charged 4 different times instead of just once. Will NEVER be coming here again.

This is the WORST Walmart. Its a shame its the only one in Merced. Nobody working the deli. When u need something out the look up cafe box they have no one to come with the key to open it. Waited 15 mins to get a tape measure and ask the manager he said he was going to send someone, no one came. Then another associate told me I have to wait 15 more mins. She must be crazy Im the customer. The store manager and the assistant do not have no clue how to run that store. If you dont believe me go in there and you will be disappointed. Its a shame all the Walmarts are going down hill. At least the one in Atwater is good.thats where I will be shipping at. Please do the same.

I love Walmart. But..... I was there literally over 30 mins in the jewelry section waiting for a employee to unlock the safe to get my ring. An employee called literally about 10 times. They are way to slow on answering a page.

Well I was waiting in line some of the clerks thought it would be fun to go in the back room and make fun of my attire unbeknownst to them I could overhear everything they said and a co-worker had to tell them you know we can hear everything you guys are saying very unprofessional the manager did not do anything when I when she was standing right there and heard everything she acted like she didnt hear anything I was pretty appalled

Its a Walmart. Stock full of everyday items and groceries. The plethora of oddities that walk into show provide and bonus people watching aspect that is unique to Walmart. 5 stars just for that.

Pretty much the same as any other Walmart Ive been to. However, the employees here are friendly and very helpful though. Clean store and bathrooms. The mens beach cruiser bikes are gone as soon as they come in though, but that is a common problem right now for some reason, seems like since covid-19 started. People buy them up and resell for double the price on craigslist and such.

Worst Wal-Mart everything is under lock and key and bad customer service. Had my license plate stolen in parking lot and security never even responded. Someone was recently shot and killed in parking lot too. Go to Atwater!

Clear the ilse. Patrol the parking lots better, because of the homeless panhandling.

It’s Walmart. Aside from a couple open registers, long lanes and lingering farts in every other aisle, it’s ok. Usually there hardly any shopping carts, but today there was none.

The store was stocked well but checkout for a busy store with only 2 checkers available took over 20 minutes. Otherwise no complaints.

Cant beat some of their prices. But the checkout lines are horrible. They never have enough cashiers and self checkout isnt any better. Going early is your best bet.

Slowest Walmart ever. Most of the time theres only one cash register open for taking cash or self checkout and both lines are almost to the back of the store. The workers are lazy and theres no good customer service. It needs to close down 👎

Customer service horrible, auto service nobody ask you what you need they can be talking each other 6 ft apart while you standing there and completely ignore you. Picking up things ordered online the woman left for break and nobody is able cover her despite beenlady next to her. We had to wait 20 minutes until she came back working slower than before went to break. WalMart better hire people that wants to work. And hire enough!05/08/21 10am
