I love this store, but today, Laura at checkout stand #3 seemed rude for the first time and told me to use the button to move my items down the belt even though I was almost done bagging them. Soon as I stepped closer to the button she quickly put up a chain to keep me from getting “out of bounds”. There was a customer bagging items as well and a group of three employees standing nearby talking as this happened and I felt embarrassed.

I cant with this store. Ive been here a couple time during this past week and the cashiers there are very rude. Both times that I came to the this foodmax they had only 2 registers open with long lines all the way down the frozen food section. Its ridiculous I went in for literally 2 things this last time and it took over 40 mins for me to finally pay for the few things that I needed. Not only that but both times that I came I got the same rude cashier Brooklyn with the poofy hair. She isnt professional whatsoever and was very rude both times I came here. I will not be returning to this store again. They should hire better cashiers that actually greet their costumers and have a positive attitude while theyre working. Not people that radiate negative energy. This place doesnt even deserve 1 stars

I despise grocery shopping.. but this store had Friendly Staff, a Clean store nd spacious aisles, decent prices... Not bad!!

Me and my girlfriend went to this foodmaxx Tuesday an employee that works there was buying sick medication in front of usTurns out we are all sick now Ridiculous to think that guy was just spreading sickness all over the card swiper the cashier didnt even wipe it down and now my whole family got sick

This place is a bit cheaper than the other ones around. I like the quality and variety of their products, and that I can find one of the items, I used to eat at my country, at a great price!

Not crowded at this time of the morning. Was in & out quickly. No waiting in line. Every was easy to find the Isles are labeled very helpful.

FoodMaxx is a great place to keep an eye out for good sales.

Nice grocery store to go to when you’re in the budget since prices are bit affordable. Got variety of other food at times but I understand so as long they got items I like, I’m satisfied. The waiting lines are bit hassle when you have less items and don’t like using self-checkout. I do like they have coupons to use at back of their receipt and survey but is it worth 5%? 🤔 since there’s pandemic going on, they should setup sanitation for customers and have disposable wipes for carts for efficiency. I do like there’s option to bring your own bag cause got full collection of bags have to keep buying so I don’t mind if have to bag it myself.

They are great in there in Modesto, their meat department is great better then most of other stores. Their managers are great, have been going there for maney years

All is good in this store, prices are always very competitive, but, the self checkout will never be ok.. is picky as the store, if you put the stuff on bagging area, if you take the stuff from bagging area if you use your bag, if you dont use your bag, if you look at bagging area, if you breathe towards bagging area.. no matter what you do, the store clerk will always have to aid you, and then the clerk has the audacity to scold you when explaining to you what was YOUR MISTAKE!! IF YOU ARE IN A RUSH.. UNLESS STORE IS DESERTED ..JUST RELAX..CUZ YOU AINT GOING NOWHERE FAST ..Girl bye

Place we go to for a lot of our groceries. Employees there are always wonderful, lines a bit long certain days, they are or were pretty good with sanitizing carts, and food is always fresh. Never had a problem.

My 1 and ONLY complaint with foodmax, is that it is no longer open 24 hours!!! I hate crowds and I like to take my time. But I understand they are just adjusting and changing with the demands of this pandemic!! oh yeah also my favorite cashier is gone!! He always worked the late shift, been with the company for like 40 years! Amazing customer service skills!!! will be missed.

Budget Friendly lots of options for vegetables and you can find some common Indian grocery stuffs too..decent collections of alcohols and if you are a fan of the therapist beer sometime you can find that too..overall a good place to shop..

My daughter shops here and I wanted to get a $500. gift card for her. The store was seriously busy and the management was pretty harried, so I waited interminably for the manager to help me. He wasnt very pleasant or friendly, but I dont think being busy is an excuse for bad manners.I do appreciate that my daughter has the opportunity to shop close to her home at a place that she likes.

With every store in this town raising prices on everything, its nice to know you wont have to go to 3or4 different stores because you can get everything on your shopping list at one place.Plenty of parking and easy to get in and out

Good prices. Wide aisles. But here’s the thing: the staff come in to flavors, so nice that you just feel like you should never leave and so nasty you wish you hadn’t come. I guess you have to take the good in the bed together. A female manager at the service desk was so rude today that I asked her why she was being nasty. She felt she had been very service oriented. Fact that she can’t even see how rude she is tells me more than I really wanna know. However, on many other occasions I’ve met people who bend over backwards.

I was looking for this chilie powder & google told me, food max carried it. They said they stopped receiving it when pandemic began. The store looks different. Hadnt been there since before they removed the pharmacy. Dont have much else to say about that experience.

Cashier was polite n good at helping me with my groceries today. Its always good to remember to be happy at work it makes people feel safe n welcomed it sure made my day.

The produce here is very high quality. As for the rest, its a little limited in stock. Staff are fine and nothing really stands out about them. Overall it is a decent place that stands out with good produce.

I always go late at night and the store is always well stocked and clean.

This establishment should invest in extra motorized carts. Having to stand around waiting for one of the two they have is bad for my pops when I take him shopping.

Cheapest grocery store in merced in my opinion. Friendly employees too. I like how the Grocery aisles are not all compact which makes shopping easy and less of the headache. Speedy check out lines and self check is hassle free!!

You had to go and stop being 24hrs. There’s no place in Merced that is 24hrs, this store was the last line of defense when it came to emergency items. Last night my two year old needed Pedialyte and cough medicine. Normally I’ve would’ve chosen this store as my savior store for this situation, but it’s now clear that foodmaxx has now abandoned its customers during the cold and flu season and beyond. Our loyalty to foodmaxx in now broken and COVID isn’t the blame like upper “management” may lead you to believe. How dare you do this to your customers, we deserve much more than that.

Decent deals better to go in the evening to avoid crowds or early in the AM.

Changed my rating to 5 stars due to a recent experience I had with Store Associate Daniel and his Manager.My wallet fell out of my shopping bag and into the shopping cart that I was using the other night. Daniel was able to track me down using the phone number on my business card (in my wallet) to let me know that they had it safely in their possession.Im so grateful for their integrity and for going the extra mile for a customer. Had my wallet fallen into different hands, things could have turned out waaaaaay differently.You guys are too awesome for words. :-D

The members of the store were friendly. This store is usually well stocked. This time it did not look as neat and full as it should. I did see some inventory stickers on the isles so perhaps this had something to do with it. Not very many members in the store at all . Usually there are several people that can help you but not on this trip.still a good place to shop and the prices are very good. I will return to this store.

Food max has amazing prices for many grocery items, very friendly and knowledgeable staff. I refuse to shop anywhere else for groceries.
