This is the best Indian Grocery Store in Memphis period.The owners know how to keep prices reasonable and earn more. It is also the cleanest and very organized store. The produce I have found always to be fresh and sometimes cheaper that some major stores.I love the Deep Roti family packs and also Haldiram products and my favorite Mother’s Mango achar.I have only one complain but that should not bother others. The samosas are a bit less inside. I hope they take care of that.That should be like Costco giving you a good hotdog with a soda for only 1:50 so that customers will come again and shop. Please make samosas better.Okay, here is an update the very next day(I think last night the owner must have read my comments and as a good and smart businessman he did a good job on the samosa.)Today also took some photos to add including inside of samosa.Best Indian store in Memphis area!!!

What an absolutely delightful store! I was not aware of the scope of this place. I knew it was there, but since I dont frequent this part of town I hadnt visited. I had the false impression that it was small and limited. This is the most well stocked Indian grocery Ive ever visited--it has everything from fresh produce to frozen convenience foods, housewares, incense, various sweets, bulk food items and hundreds of choices of dried beans, rice, grains, spices and gram snacks. This is a truly great place to buy spices. All it took for me is one visit, and from now on Ill be a regular customer.

Its good. Have some good Indian products . But still lot needs to be better on product cost, varieties and bringing up more fresh products than stock !

The oldman in cash counter there, put wrong prices when checking and take extra money from the buyers. I am pretty sure he did with 3-4 customers each day. Please, everyone, double-check your receipt.

I really liked their produce section. I dont know how they seem to always keep the store stocked with fresh and high quality veggies. This was something that most Indian stores seem to struggle with - but not this one! All the veggies here were nice and fresh. I also liked that they had such variety in terms of Indian snacks and herbs. For example, they had three variations of the Maggie cuppa noodles, which is a level of variety I have never seen in any international store before (and I come from HOUSTON with its insane international community)

The store itself is good but there is a man at the checkout counter who is bald. He is super rude, does not even acknowledge the presence of the customers, need to replace him as soon as possible and hire friendlier faces!!

Best India grocery store in town. You can get fresh vegetables, indian snacks, home made snacks, indian deserts too. I really like this place. They have 1$ fresh samosas. Sometimes you can get homemade dhokla too. People are good too. They have seasonal sales also where you can get good discount on various items . Currently they have ramadan sale going on.I would recommend going to this store.

A newly open spacious indian super market having good options for indian vegetables, spices, indian snacks, indian groceries, frozen foods, worship materials, cereals etc. supermarket is spacious inside and goods are well arranged, you will not find difficulties to get items which you are looking for (still marking or labels are missing to show the type of food each row have). Staff are well behaved and friendly. Billing is fast. Also they have good parking space in front of the super market.

Best place is in Memphis!! You can find everything from produce to groceries. I was so lucky to find this place thanks to the one of balajis employee who gave me the direction. According to this mrs.patel nothing was like this scenario all I heard owner saying please let me explain and finish what Im saying. She was actually explaining what happened previously but the lady keep on talking bringing up her being an owner well let me tell you if youre an owner you know how to treat others. If you dont have anything nice to say it dont just say it. Appreciate that you can find everything being here in USA. I my self here for 40 plus years doesnt mean you let others down and leave nasty comment about the owner calling names. It tells what background you came from. Im one of them humble and easy going customer. They cant make everyone happy. I would absolutely recommend this store to everyone. Thanks!!

Stopped by once for Indian grocery shopping. I liked the place. Got some nice and fresh vegetables and other stuff. I would definitely want to go back for the vegetable section. There is a counter with freshly squeezed sugarcane juice ( with a dash of lemon and ginger) which was pretty refreshing. The hot and fresh samosa was also mouth watering ( and pretty cheap too). I would definitely visit the store again.

Used to be place with the good customer service but since last too times Im not seeing that customer service. There is a employee call Kaka need to learn customer service and his job and also he should khow that when there are customers he should not use phone

I like this place there fruits and vegetables are always fresh to their life span last longer then Kroger. The customer service are always friendly and kind. I visit every weeks to purchase my fruits, vegetables. And tea products.I highly recommend many people who are vegetarian to shop here often . Very clean store.

Everything good with stock side. 🙄 But less safety for COVID. 90% people dont care about the social distancing and staff dont try to tell anything to anyone about safety. Yes there are signs stating maintain social distancing and masks are must. But cashiers wearing masks to neck. 🤔

This is the biggest Indian grocery store in Memphis right now. I prefer to go here because it is one stop for vegetables, Indian snack, groceries, spices, sweets too. They have started sugarcane juice also which is available only on weekends.The owner and staffs are very friendly and easy to locate grocery. And most importantly it is clean and spacious. I have been going to this place since a year now.

We came to Memphis to move our granddaughter and we went to Balaji store. The tall gentleman helped a ‘local’ and ignored me 80+.Corvid 19 required masks, we wore and most of the shoppers did not. The owners are not maintaining six feet rule and were not wearing masks.With this in mind their lack of following rules, I am inclined to think the products they sell may be below standard.I am not sure if I would return to shop at their store.

This is undoubtedly and hands down the best Indian grocery store in Memphis area. Something that was lacking for many many years. Frozen food here is always frozen u like some other Desi stores. Although they lack a few of the maybe not so commonly found brands in India, they still have all the other most common and very few not so common brands (primarily Im talking of cookies and Desi biscuits here). They have fresh samosas (which is my favourite thing about this store). The samosas are great original Desi samosa and not the chalega types. They have also recently started fresh sugarcane juice I see. Havent tried that yet. Their frozen fish (Desi fishes) section is also best in the area. They have almost all Desi veggies (and many fruits) and mostly as fresh as you can get. Apart from samosas they also have the yellow and white dhokla which is also pretty fresh and soft and most importantly not dry.I think its family run and they are very courteous people. One gap is now filled in Memphis. Thank you for doing this in Memphis Balaji store owners!!

After this corona, they have increased the price of all products, more than 10%20 LB Deccan Sona massori rice was 15$ in Jan 2020 and 17$ in June 2020.Too costly compared to Indian shops in other cities

This place might be a great case study of a bad investment. The space is more than neccessary, same variety as their nearby competitor, and most importantly the veggies are not fresh at all. Bad location choice Balaji. Anyway wish you all the best just for the nerves.

I always use to visit Balaji for all the Indian grocery needs and had a feel good opinion about it and now it got changed because of the recent issue. I have bought Royal Sona masoori rice recently and unfortunately there was some issue with the color and smell of the rice. The same has been reported to the store the next week and Balaji havent accepted it back and denied for the exchange. The lady whom I raised the concern with was very rude and she doesnt have patience to listen what the problem is and it was a single statement that we didnt have a single complaint on this brand rice. Quality of rice is not good, thats okay, but the store people should have some patience to deal with their customers

Hands down the best Indian store in Memphis. There is a lot more you can purchase here than you can get in most convenience stores in India. This is probably because products from different Indian states export their stuff here. Most items are affordable and the staff are really helpful. You also get a lot of Indian vegetables that you cant find at Kroger or Walmart. Balaji supermarket is also really close to FedEx WHQ which makes it all the more great for corporate FedEx employees like me.

You can find all the indian spices, sweets, snacks, and produce here. A great selection of frozen food including paranthas, naan and Indian curries. I specially enjoy Deep brand food.
