Great lil shop full of rare eclectic things, not the least of which is the owner. I was in Memphis for a month for business and had to go by and buy a lowebow from John. He was a great host, showed me around, even did a impromptu performance on the lowebow I was buying to show what it could do. Its a shame Im not closer to go by his shop more often.

Xanadu Music & Books is the legit font from which the folk wisdom of Memphis springs. A vibe unlike that of any other independently owned book seller you are likely to encounter. For the true head and definitely not to be missed.

Really cool little shop! More books than I could possibly have time to look through and a wealth of fun, unique instruments.The guy working there made a point to show my friend and I some of the especially neat instruments and didnt mind us jamming out!

This was Dads (Bob Hampton) favorite music store. The owner is a great guy who my father thought very highly of. If youre in midtown check this place out. Buy, sell or browse through the museum style collection!!

Repaired an old Gibson acoustic for me. Cool guitars and books.

Great place to browse for book lovers. Very comfortable environment with a house cat. Only criticism is no credit cards accepted but they happily took my personal check.

This shop is like being in a dream . The shops library is very diverse and prices cant be beat. Lots of music magazines of all sorts. The music shop has rare guitars and beautiful cigar box guitars. If you need your Amp or guitar fixed without being in a long wait list come talk to Johnny.

Eclectic little shop. Worth going to just to see the interesting handmade instruments. The guy that runs the place looks like a wizard and is great to talk with about music.
