I am an Executive Director of a nonprofit and as with many people, my schedule is pretty busy. I made the time to stop by some shops with my breaks grinding and tires that needed rotated. Several places I stopped by had their tire machines out of order. No one seemed willing to really have me as a customer and would let me know they didn’t know when they could get to my car as though they didn’t want my business at all. Some wanted me to leave my car over night for a break change. I couldn’t do that. When I came to Tire Choice on Hacks Cross, the guys behind the counter were so pleasant and eager to make time to help me. They communicated well with me to let me know their schedule and how they would work with me through the early morning and lunch time to try and get the car taken care of. I sat to wait on my friend to take me to lunch while I waited and before lunch they were able to get to my car. The gentlemen were really kind and made me feel welcome. I’ll definitely be back. I don’t feel like I’m a customer in the way that no one has time for. I appreciate the customer service more than words. Kindness goes a long ways to me. I will tell others and want you to know I greatly appreciate your service. I may also bring my nonprofit vehicles to you when they need serviced. 🥰

I had my a/c repaired here. I was told I needed a compressor. I paid for it over $ 1,000! After talking to them and taking my car back several times. I was then told I needed a pigtail to keep the air flowing. But they could not find one any place. I finally had enough! I then had the a/c complete kit installed for almost $1400.00. 0 stars is my rating.

I set an appointment in advance for brake work. Set up someone to pick me up as its drop off only. I show up and am told they dont honor appointments. I should have come in at opening to wait. Walk ups get preference over appointments per the manager. He refused to give me anyone at corporate to talk to and again said I shouldnt have made an appointment. Corporate called me and the store refused to honor the appointment when they called. It seems to be this one location that isn’t up to corporate standards. Corporate told me they’ve reported this location to the district manager.

Vernon was beyond helpful today! They assessed my car and resolved my problem ....my air conditioner is working again! Thank you so very much!

I don’t know if it was the way my man looked, but when he walked in, the employee/owner/whomever asked if he needed a job. My man said that he was looking for a tire. The price to purchase a tire for a camero is about $390 and they can’t do a warranty because of the price of the tire. So, we received a better deal with a warranty at Discount Tire.

Very fast and professional. They were able to tell me that there was an issue with my waterpump which turned out to be completely true, in which, I took it to my dealership to be fixed.

I didnt have a good experience here. I was looking for a basic service for my car and one of the employees laughed at my for a question that I asked. I didnt left my car there and I did not recommend this place...I think that a good seller must to be respectful with all the customers. There are many places that do the same service, so I took my car to: 10 minutes oil change that is 5 minutes away on 7540 Winchester Rd. They did the service fast and respectfully. Im going to put 5 stars to this place.Probably Choice Auto Service do not care about the stars, but I know that people like to see stars and comments.

I’m always taken care of by my guy Vernon. Never a hassle and always a quick and easy drop off of my truck. If I ever need anything urgent, the phone is always answered and the process is smooth. I won’t go anywhere else for my truck needs.

This is my go-to in Memphis now! Staff is always friendly and they get me in and out! I come all the way from Whitehaven to have these guys take care of my car. Vernon helped me out today, and they always keep you informed of what might need to be done and what you dont need done. As a female, its important to have mechanics you can trust not to try and throw extra fixes at you!

I stopped going to Toyota to get my oil changed because these guys are quicker and more efficient. I also dont have to spend my whole day waiting. Normally, Im done in 45 minutes or less. I love the service and the guys are friendly.

I have used this shop for the past 10 years. It has changed names over this time but the front desk has stayed the same. I completely trust James and Vernon. They have given advice that wasnt always in their best interest but mine. And for that I continue to go to them even though I no longer live just down the street. As long as they are there, this will be my tire shop.

I moved to Memphis a little over a year ago. With that being said I must say James and Veron both do a phenomenal job with customer service and making sure my needs are met with my vehicle. I always feel welcome being away from my hometown.

These guys did an excellent job. Big shot out to vern working the front desk. He took the time to listen to my problem and concerns without trying to talk over me. I had a coolant leak coming from a water outlet pipe. It was a very difficult spot to get to. They replaced the pipe and fix the leak within a few hours. Had me in and out the same day. Christian brothers automotive shop wanted to replace the pipe, the thermostat housing, the radiator hoses, and the water pump all because they didnt know exactly where the leak was coming from and they knew replacing all of that at my expense would for sure fix the problem. Im glad I took my car here, they did a great job at a great price in little time. I will be a returning customer.

Bought 2 tires today, came in last week got a quote on prices, actually a few dollars cheaper than the estimate. Service was good, as usual, this is not my first visit, wont be my last. Always welcoming, there are always enough workers there to perform the job and not take your whole day. Actually, I was there about 30-40 minutes, which is better than the big chain places that do not pay attention to detail. Mr. James Weatherly and his staff are very nice people and get to the heart of the matter. My first visit, I came to get an oil change, with the coupon. Greeted, waited on, and out in about 20 minutes, came back to this location for my next oil change, about a week ago. Decided that they will be my Mr. Fix-it..lol, because I felt comfortable talking to them about my car, which is older 97 Camry, and they actually talked to me about what was wrong. I did get an estimate from one other place, just to have an idea what was wrong, then brought my car to compare, Car-X were correct,truthful. My dad owned a car service center for over 40 years, I try not bother him since he retired but I did get him to look at my car; Car-X was on the money, same thing my dad told me in diagnosing the problem, so I feel better, building trust. The only reason, I didnt give 5 stars is because I wanted to wait until they tackle a big problem Im having with shocks, struts, brakes, and alignment. Not taking anything away from previous service, really good service overall.

Do not come here!! The man in charge white with a beard will lie to you about what your car needs when your car handbook tells the truth of what your car needs. He will OVER CHARGE YOU AND SWEAR YOUR CAR NEEDS WHAT HE IS SAYING. DO NOT BELIEVE HIM. DO NOT BE OVER CHARGED. IM A SINGLE MOTHER AND ESSENTIAL WORKER HE COULDNT EVEN GIVE ME MY ESSENTIAL WORKER DISCOUNT.

I went in to get my tire checked. I receive excellent customer service from the moment I walked in. I was asked about my day and encouraged to continue serving the children in our community. My tire was checked and put back on in a timely matter and I received service with a smile. I was given my keys and told to have a great day. I reached for my wallet and I was told, no charge. I was blessed and I will be a customer for life!

First time being here coming from sales background it should always be your best experience to reassure returning customers. I pulled up at 10:15am on a Thursday noticed two bays were open with only one person waiting in the lobby waiting on their vehicle. So after speaking with an older white male not sure of his name about my reason for visit which was a standard oil change nothing more other than what comes with it. My vehicle was pulled right in,20,30,40, mins passed by as customers come in and we wait, patience has never been a problem for me. However I finally decide to get up and proceed to the register after I notice Ive been waiting ONE hour and twenty mins for an oil change! When I reached the register I was met by an older black male not sure of his name and I asked how long does it take to get a oil change here because Ive been waiting for an hour and twenty minutes! His response was you aint been waiting for an hour and twenty minutes at the register I looked at my phone to check the time I received that call right before I got out the truck before entering the building it was at 10:20 am. From there I looked at the clock above his head it read 11:30 sum. I told the older black male about my proof after that he remained quiet then I asked some other questions about their oil changing procedure. To my surprise no further delay my truck was ready. I like to paint the picture for anyone reading this. I WILL NOT return its the longest Ive ever waited for an OIL CHANGE especially since its a Thursday morning you wouldve thought it was a Saturday afternoon around.

Came across a coupon and had an oil change done here a few days ago, 5W/30 viscosity oil was used on my Volvo S70. Thatd be okay for winter months or if we lived in a cooler climate, but with summer approaching in Memphis, temps will easily exceed the 86 degrees Fahrenheit that 5W/30 is rated for. I checked the owners manual (and what was used for previous oil changes), if ambient temperatures exceed 86 degrees, 10W/30 viscosity should be used. What really concerned me is talking to other folks having service done here. Somehow the tech/mechanic ended up mistakenly draining the transmission fluid when a customer was only there for an oil change! Another customer had the wrong size wheels mounted (prior to mounting, that customer noticed the wrong size tires out on the shop floor and tried to point out that they were the wrong size but was dismissed). Nice staff but I wont be coming back.

I was in town from Ohio! On the way to Memphis, my muffler got really loud like it blew a hole in a rusty spot or something. We came here in hopes of getting everything taken care of before making the trip back to Akron. We waited about an hour before they looked at it, which was ok because they were busy when we got there. They told us we needed a new muffler and new pipes with 2 hours of labor for a total of $340. We decided to deal with the fumes to get it back home and go to our local muffler shop. We did not need pipes at all, only a muffler. We were in and out in 10 minutes and the cost was ridiculously less than the $340 they tried to get us to pay. I write reviews everywhere I go. I must say, I believe this is the first negative review like this I have ever written as I am one to always see the positive in everything. There was just none to be had here for me.

I have been here about three times for tires/issues on my Scion and have always been happy with the service. Today I went in to get a nail removed. They took my car back right away and within 20 minutes they told me it didnt puncture far enough so they sent me on my way...no payment for their time or anything. I was able to go their and get something to eat on my lunch break.

I have used Steele-Guiltner successfully many times in the past. My latest visit was for a screw in a tire that a dealership told me could not be removed and I needed a new tire. Steele-Guiltner removed it...no problem! When I later developed an oil leak they even took care of that problem for me. I have never had a hint of a bad experience with them. James and his staff are friendly and reasonable!

DO NOT GO HERE! They will rob you of your money and fix nonexistent issues on your vehicle or straight up not fix an issue at all and charge you hundreds of dollars and refuse to give it back to you. This place is just a giant scam!!!

I took my vehicle to get a tire patch for a road trip my wife was taking. The tire wasnt low but I seen the nail so figured I should get it fixed. Bad idea! Once she and my kids got on the road the tire went flat. I went in with a picture in hand thinking they would give a refund considering I had to fix the problem myself. He was questioning me as if I wasnt telling the truth. I was just at the same location days before to purchase 4 new tires price near $1,000. Would I really lie about a 25 dollar patch. He ask to bring the vehicle back. Theres really no need, being the issue is resolved because my wife and kids were stranded out of town. BAD BUSINESS.

Always fast and affordable. Ive taken many cars there multiple times. Never had any issues, and they never try to upsell me on unnecessary things.

If you get charged for valve and seal kits for your tires at $4.50 each, and you WILL, make sure they actually REPLACE the valve stems. They replaced 3 tires for me in 2018, charged me for new valve stems each time and didnt change a single one. It so happens that my valve stems leaked slowly, so I knew when my brand new tires continued to leak, that they had not replaced the valve stems, and a quick inspection revealed this to be true. All old, discolored threads, no new brass. A LOT of that good ole boy friendliness, but they nickel and dime you just the same.
