The reviews dont lie, this place is amazing and George is awesome. We moved out here a couple years ago and only used the dealer for repairs and service. We were quoted a crazy number for an ac compressor replacement at the dealership, so we decided to try Alewife Automotive based on everyones reviews. George not only worked with us to find the part, but he did the work in 1 day and did it for over 50% less than the dealership quote. I will be coming here for everything automotive going forward.

This has been one of the worst experience in 20 years of fixing my vehicles. My car has been in their shop for 51 days as of this writing, that is 51 days without my car costing me over $1000 in rental car charges. It took them 4 weeks before they called my warranty company to approve the repair on my vehicle, blatantly lied about ordering the part for another 2 weeks, I had to call my warranty company to get the part sent to them because apparently they couldnt get the part even though my warranty got them the part within 2 days and I am still waiting for my car to be fixed. I have asked them many times if you cant fix the car, I will take it to the dealership without problem, but they continue to give me every excuse in the book why they are delaying. If the car is not done in the next two days, it will be towed out to the dealership.

The people here were amazing. They helped save our Acura RDX from serious damage. Would recommend 10/10 using their services and assistance. We are clients forever.

I hadnt been in need of auto mechanic services in a long time. However suddenly I was in a bind and needed a quick turnaround with work just as the holidays were approaching. They were extremely quick, responsive, great with communication, didnt try to crush me with unnecessary work, and treated me like family. Couldnt be happier! We brought our 2014 Nissan Altima to Alewife with a mystery problem in May 2020 after two months of middle-of-the-night alarms and battery jumps. (Pandemic started off swell, thanks for asking!) What a relief it was to work with George and his team. From May 2020 to March 2021, we brought our car in around 10 times, running diagnostics, testing out different solutions, and ultimately tracking down and fixing the source of the problem. With all those phone calls, visits, and long hours of labor, we were only charged at the end of the repair journey and only for the fix that actually resolved the problem. George and his team have a great sense of humor, are super courteous, and it was an all-around pleasure to work with them!

After moving, I needed to find a new mechanic, saw some good reviews with these guys, and I couldn’t be happier with my choice, and I won’t go anywhere else with my car. I’ve brought my personal car, work van, girlfriends car, and even my moms car for inspections, repairs and services, and every time they treat me like family and make sure the job is done and done right. They don’t try to make you feel stupid or rob you on unnecessary fixes like some big name garages, and I would highly recommend anyone who needs work or service on their car to come here!

I wish I could give 6 stars!We heard a noise from our car while driving on the interstate. I pulled over and noticed that one of the plastic covers below the car was loose and missing some screws.This shop was close by, so we drove over. The employee who greeted us (I didn’t get his name) was super friendly. Everything felt super safe and everyone was masked.He put the car on the lift, fixed the problem with some extra screws and zip ties, and didn’t charge us anything! He also seemed really patient and explained everything well.

Mike and George are two of the friendliest people youll meet in the industry and I always leave the shop feeling good about them working on my car. They are quick, efficient, and very fair. Highly recommend them if youre looking for a trusted mechanic!

My right back wheel was loudly squeaking. My friend recommended Alewife Auto, and I couldn’t be more thrilled with the service! George picked up the phone right away and assuaged my concerns that he would make sure the car was in good shape before I took a long road trip that weekend. I went in right away, he topped off the oil, checked the fluids, and rebalanced the tires after greasing / pushing back in some pins. And no charge for the servicing! Price/Value is fantastic at Alewife Automotive.I brought in my Volkswagen CC with engine issues. After two VW dealer quoted me repairs for the engine of 2.4k USD and 3.2k USD (with a different diagnosis each), I ended up at Alewife Automotive. After the first interactions with George, I had a very positive feeling. By thoroughly checking my engine, they identified that the problem was caused by a minor malfunction in one of the cylinders. The total cost for the repair were below 300 USD (parts and labor) and the car is working perfectly now. I am very glad that I found Alewife Automotive I and will rely on their service going forward.

Incredible. They are helpful, kind, funny and very reasonable.My heat went out on a week with tempatures below ten degrees. They were open on a day that we had eight inches of snow and started working on my car immediately. I also asked for them to do an alignment and if they could fix my window washer, neither the front or back sprayer worked.They called and updated my the costs of parts needed for my heater and the cost of labor. Making sure I was comfortable with everything.I came to pick up my car and noticed they left the alignment and fixing my windshield washer off the bill. After mentioning this I was told those were going to be on the house. He said since the other repair was pricey, it was, but they were already more affordable than other places, they werent going to charge me for anything else.I almost dont want to post this. They are usually busy, but that is for a reason. They are worth any wait. Im grateful to have an auto shop I know I can trust.

Ive been in the shop twice and had nothing but a good experience each time. When I was way overdue on an oil change, they took the time to flush out the system until it was clean before replacing the oil - and didnt charge me extra for it or the filters used.Theyve let me know of any potential problems (ie, the tire tread is starting to get to the point where it would need replacement at the end of the season) without any pressure or upsell tactics.Its hard to find a trustworthy mechanic, and Ive been nothing short of impressed with them.

I love coming to Alewife Automotive to get my car serviced because I know they will take great care of my car and always give me the lowest rate possible.Recently I was having brake issues and needed to replace all 4 brakes (pads and metal bearings). They spent 30 minutes on the phone with me explaining how my brake issues came to be and broke down the pricing for the replacement parts and labor cost. They saved me well over $1500 had I gone to the dealership to get my brakes changed out.I appreciate the amount of time they spent explaining the situation and giving me discounts on parts and labor. I went here to get my car inspected. It took a little longer than I expected but the person who did the service explained that there was a new system with more steps. While I was waiting, I witnessed friendly patient service for other customers. Very impressed overall.

Really great work overall.Service was really great, everyone is incredibly friendly. They called me once theyd done some investigation and told me they had found the parts that needed replacing (emissions issues). Since it was emissions parts, they had to go to a dealer for them, so the prices were pretty high, but Mike from Alewife Automotive said he was able to drop the prices by using their loyalty discount w/ Toyota. Im not totally sure if thats a thing, but it seemed great, so I went with it.My only complaint was that there was a pretty bad delay in communication, and the initial estimate (once theyd investigated) had said 1-2 days and it ended up being a week. But hey, it happens, I get it. Price was also $100 over what they said it was going to be, due to tax, but also due to some other things, but it wouldve been good to know that ahead of time (not that I could change it).Overall definitely recommend.

Having a relationship with your mechanic is always a good thing. When i went here the first time, I was treated as if I was a 3rd generation customer. Unparalleled customer service. When my car was out of commission for a little while they put me in a rental which they paid for and didnt add a charge; they understand the value of having return customers. I now ONLY go here for all maintenance including oil changes and refer all my driving friends to go here as well (also suggest their new body/paint shop). This is a Father & Sons spot - doesnt get more pure than that.

George, Eli, Alex and the rest of the team are awesome. They kept my jetta alive on a budget for a few years longer than other shops would have. Effort, creativity, common sense, and a ton of honestly is what you get out if these guys. I came in with a leaking tire one time, they patched it where I parked it. Another time my light switch went. The dealer said is was going be to $350. George sent somebody down to a junkyard and got a perfectly good one for around $30. They came back with 2 switches just in case 1 didnt work and didnt charge me for it. Having Eli look over your car for easy fixes before they become big problems is a smart thing. He caught my cracked timing belt when one of his guys was changing my oil.

Time and time again I have gone to get my car serviced and these guys not only do it for cheaper, but better! I find myself having to only see them for inspections and occasional tune ups, whereas Id see my other mechanic every 2 months.On top of that, they know how to talk to people.
