We were on our way from MN to Fla in our motorhome. The coach power was not working and I stopped at the local Walmart to get the batteries replaced. The tech there was not sure it was batteries and was not equipped to do more troubleshooting. He recommended we try Battery Specialists and we arrived at 11:30 am on a Saturday. The store hours are till noon and they had other projects in process, but Kevin the manager there was able to fit us into the schedule. He replaced the two failed batteries and cleaned all of the corrosion from the various cables. He put shrink tube on a number of the cables and remounted a disconnect switch that was poorly mounted. All this with a smile and positive attitude. Finished up about 12:30 for a total cost parts and labor that was surprisingly affordable. We would be happy to return again at any time.

Wow! Great service! My alternator died on I-57 driving from Michigan to Louisiana. I had enough battery juice to make it into town, a few other auto repair places I stopped at/called didnt have the time for me. Advance Auto Parts recommended Battery Specalists. I called, Kevin listened to what I described and said to bring the car over. At 4:45pm (they close at 5pm) Kevin and Ben checked it out, confirmed it was a bad alternator, said they could put one in in the morning, sounded good to me. Heres the great part, Kevin dropped me off at the Super 8, gave me a few dinner recommendations, then at 9:30am the next day called and said the new alternator was installed and that he would be by to pick me up! I was back on my way to Louisiana by 10am. A great business and great people!

I have a similar story to Tonys below. I was driving the opposite way from New Orleans to Northern Michigan when my alternator started dying. I limped to O Reillys down the road when my truck died. (See my review there for another great customer service story!). The store didnt have my proper alternator and the manager there called Battery Specialists at 4:30 who told him to bring me over. Sean the manager at O Reillys drove me and the gentlemen at Battery Specialist at 4:45 just a few minutes before they closed took the time and rebuilt my alternator right there infront of me! I cannot overstate how great the service I received at both places were and the caliber of people in Mattoon. Thank you!
