I want to thank Frank so much for providing wonderful service. He was friendly, informational and patient with me. Fortunately I did not need any repairs but they still provided me with great and friendly service. Normally, these types of things stress me out, but he made it seamless! I would recommend this place to anyone as they have wonderful service. I would have given it 5 stars, but I didn’t get any work done.

My father brought in his Ford 2003 here years ago after his transmission gave him troubles and to this day has never had a problem with it, he recommended me this place after my car started giving me similar issues, shortly after bringing it in I got a report back within a couple hours and a full breakdown of what needed to be done with full transparency on price, options, etc. They were reliable, quick, and honest people, will definitely recommend to others! I thought i needed my transmission serviced so i took it to the Best in the Business.They provided a free transmission inspection and road test.After the check, i was told nothing was wrong with the transmission. I was also told my fluid looks really good and i dont need a transmission flush at this time.If i had went to any other place like a quick lube, they would have tried to sell me on a flush just based on the mileage.However, Mr. Transmission is about building lifelong relationships and not searching for a quick buck.This is my second experience with them. My 1st since they moved to the new location.I will continue to go to them for ALL my transmission needs. I will also continue to refer all my friends and family for there transmission needs.

I thought my transmission was slipping. Tried the other guys first but was not impressed at the persons lack of interest, or refusal to quote a transmission flush. Called Mr. Transmission based upon these Google reviews and found Austin and Frank to be patient and willing to answer any question - and I usually have a lot! They completed a performance check on my car and told me that everything was in working order, I left without paying a penny. No high pressure sales, and no advising I need unnecessary work. In my humble opinion, these are people you can TRUST!

Went to Mr. Transmission for complex transmission problems on Mercury Mountaineer and the owner personally took the vehicle home working overnight to discover reasons for error codes.Cannot say enough good things about the owner and this branch they do whatever it takes to make the customer satisfied. I did not receive anything in exchange for this review for service in April 2021.

I was referred to Mr. Transmission. I took my vehicle there expecting that I would need a new transmission. Austin and the team there thoroughly inspected my vehicle and took it on several test drives to try and figure out the problem. I was pleasantly surprised when they told me that I did not need a new transmission. Instead, they suggested that I needed new tires. I truly appreciated the professionalism, honesty, and integrity that they provided to me and I would strongly recommend them to anyone.

Frank is the most informative and kind person. He is taking great care of me and my Yukon and is being most respectful and kind as my mother has been in hospice and ultimately passed away while issue with my truck happened. In such a tough moment of my life Frank has certainly done everything possible to ensure my truck was not a worry.

Ive been going to Mr. Frank since 2011. He has worked on two of my vehicles and would recommend his shop to friends n family.

Paid $5,000 to get my 06 dodge cummins transmission rebuilt gears started slipping not even 2 weeks after I got it back. Then the lights on dash that show when vehicle is in drive or parked would not work took it to them and they said it was a wire charged me another 200 started having issues with it again after a week. Took it back to them twice and the truck would be the exact same way as soon as I would get it back. Only had the transmission for 10 months roughly 30,000 miles on it and it went out again. Worst place to go

If this was ampco in the early 2000s they rebuilt transmission for me C6 it has more mileage on it now than the original and its doing great it has over a hundred and fifty thousand miles on it I just changed the fluid and its doing great. Vehicle has a total of 277000

Impressive service and integrity. I have been doing most of my own auto repairs for the last 30 years. So I am acutely aware that finding repair shops that can be trusted are rare. Frank at Mr. Transmission is one of those repair shops that can be trusted, and a rare find.My Trailblazers 4 wheel drive transmission failed on me, and I chose Mr. Transmission, not based on price, but based on reputation. Although, their price was reasonable. They provided a full rebuild, to OEM specifications. The trailblazer ran great after the work.Here is the kicker. After a couple of weeks, I called them and let them know that I was concerned with the transmissions recent behavior. They didnt hesitate. They came and retrieved my Trailblazer within the hour, and took it to their shop for inspection. The transmission has been performing flawlessly ever since. These guys are on their game. Oh, and no charge for the follow up service. Just good guys, standing behind their work.I will be recommending these guys to my wife and daughter when the time comes for their transmission service.

I went here and got a rebuilt Volvo transmission. The service was amazing!!! Im 24 and I really loved the fact that after price was brought up, Joe told me to have my mother call ( shes the one who gave me the reference) so he could speak and explain everything with her. You really cant beat that service! Most mechanics try to get as much money as possible from unsuspecting people. Mr. Transmission is the opposite! My car was in and very fast!! Thank you so much.

Took my car in thinking my recently-installed clutch was failing. Took it to Mr. Frank and Mr. Joe, and they checked it out and made some adjustments and it was perfect. Mr. Frank told me that they couldnt find anything wrong and wasnt going to try like other places have done. Wish I had taken it to them BEFORE I replaced it. Those guys care and remind me of Dads everywhere who believe in truly caring for their customers and keeping them safe. If you need a fair and trustworthy transmission mechanic, Mr. Transmission on E. Independence is the ONLY place to go in Charlotte.

Couldnt be happier with the service. I was worried something serious was wrong with my car but they got me in same day and found the problem to be minor. It was done the next business day. Absolutely NO ONE likes to experience car-trouble!!! But it’s even worse when you realize the trouble you’re having is a MAJOR repair, such as your engine or transmission. 🤦🏽‍♀️ So you take the car to be looked at [by Mr. Transmission] just hoping you hear them give you a different outcome. Mr. Frank [the owner] takes you and your car for a test-drive. (Who doesn’t love a personal touch?). You leave it for further review. Nope!! It’s exactly what you thought; the transmission has to be replaced/RE-built. You knew it but didn’t want to hear it!! You go through the different ideas of how you can possibly make this process easier for yourself and CHEAPER, if possible. Do you rebuild or replace your car all together?? So you have a long conversation with Joe, get all the details of the issues but all the while you’re thinking of the great service you’ve received thus far. You choose to step away and process all of the info he has given you, all the while knowing, you’re car is paid off, this is ABSOLUTELY the best route. Rebuilding a transmission is an expensive investment but when you know you’ve got the best company handling it; they have the knowledge, care and the ABSOLUTE BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!!! You’ll do what you have to do to get through this completely unexpected repair. I had my car back within a few days. It drove like a brand new car!!! They even told me to come back in 2wks so they can re-check my car. That’s exactly what I did; PERFECT!! During this process I dealt with top of the line customer service. They answered every question I had and even offered info on questions I didn’t know I had; showing me customer satisfaction is of the utmost importance!! So if you happen to have this come up with your car, don’t hesitate to contact Mr. Transmission. DONT BE SCAMMED BY THESE PEOPLE!!!!! Yes, the people that work there do write their own reviews!!! Dont believe the positive reviews. This place is a scam!!!!!!!!Here is how it works: you go in for a transmission issue. They do a FREE inspection in order to drop the trans pan. (This is the start of the scam.) You see lots of metal and gray stuff in your pan. Hint: most of the time a little is normal!!!! Then you get hit with I dont know what is wrong until we do an internal inspection. This is a bold face lie. This inspection ranges from 395.00 on up. NOW THEY GOT YOU!!! If you dont decide to fix your trans, you now owe at least 395.00. Frank, the owner marks every part up by 250%. (100.00 x 2.5). PAY ATTENTION HERE!!!!! I HAVE SEEN THEM PATCH TRANSMISSIONS UP, CLAIMING THEY REBUILT THEM AND CHARGED FULL PRICE ($2895.00) FOR A REBUILD. THE ACTUAL REPAIR ONLY COST FRANK, $250.00 IN PARTS AND LABOR. Get this; a complete transmission kit only cost $200.00 to 400.00 range for most vehicles. Frank will charge you $600 to $1200.00 for that same kit. And then you still pay for the labor. You will only get a 6 month warranty because Frank Norton knows that the transmission will (fixed) to go out in about a year. The standard warranty for this industry is 12 months. Frank and Linda Norton, the husband and wife team owners have been scamming this way for years. I seen their scam in action. You have been warned. It is in your best interest to go some place else.

When you go in, ask for Mr.Frank!! Very polite gentleman and he’s going to take care of you!! Brought my car in because I thought it had a bad transmission (which it did). Mr.Frank kept my vehicle over night and called me the next morning to let me know that my transmission was bad but he went the extra mile and found out that my particular model had an extended warranty. He even called Ford to see if my vehicle would be covered and it was!! Great service!! Definitely recommend!!

ZERO STARS!! I took my car here to get an estimate because of some skipping and loud noise. It was taken for a drive. I was then told of a sensor that was registering and it would need to replaced. I was then told my transmission fluid was dirty, so that was an indication of something going on inside my transmission. He would have to drop my transmission at the tune $695.00 to figure out what was wrong with my car. I was then told if I did not get it fixed I would have to pay the $695. When I asked for a rough estimate I was told I could not get one with the transmission being dropped. I then asked for worst case, I was told I couldnt get that either. So I took my car some where else. This mechanic was able to diagnose my problem and fix my car for $260.00!!!!!!! Before you allow Mr. Transmission to charge you hundreds of $$$$$ get a second opinion.

Very disappointed that I spent almost $5000 getting my 07 C230 transmission rebuilt two years ago only to have the same issue reemerge with zero care from them to stand behind their work. I had to take it back twice within a week of getting it fixed after which it was fine until now. Beware.....

I had the transmission rebuilt in my Expedition. Frank and David went through what it would take to fix and were upfront about cost. I had an issue a few days after the repair. I took it back and Frank worked to find and repair the issue. I believe no one is perfect so this time, my truck had to go back but they made it right and thats what matters most to me. Frank called me everyday as they searched for the gremlin that was causing the issue. I would recommend them because of their tireless effort and good rapport.

I cannot say enough about the service, professionalism and knowledge of the Team at Mr. Transmission. They also care about your vehicle and for the first time I can remember I drove away and did not have to turn around due to poor workmanship. I called Mr. Transmission about problems I was having with my restored 1980 Corvette. The car was towed as I was scared to drive it and do more damage. The manager opened the hood, looked at it, knew immediately what was wrong and fixed it within 2 minutes. It was not the transmission. I was not charged. This is not the first car I have taken to this location. I received excellent service before and knew this was a business I could trust with my dream car. This is a professional, clean, reliable, customer friendly business that I have referred to others and will continue to do so.

This week I had a problem with my vehicle. I had been guided to mr. transmission and been blessed with meeting the owner, Frank. I was in a horrible situation with my vehicle. Not even theford dealership helped me after they kept my rv for three days. Frank introduced himself to me and off we went on a test drive. He immediately identified the problem with my vehicle as a clogged catalytic converter and not my transmission.Then he said to me, lets go get it fixed. He took me to where I needed to go and set me up with another wonderful person who took care of my problem. Thank you again, Mr. Norton. I will never forget what you did for me!!!!

I must apologize for the time it has taken me to get this review posted. I have nothing but great things to say about the quality of care, work and time that Frank and the mechanics invested into repairing my transmission. I brought my car in because it was not accelerating when merging and was making a noise. An external and then an internal exam was done prior to any work ever being completed. I was kept informed at all times every step of the way and once I was quoted a price it never changed even when the problem was not resolved by a rebuild. Frank contacted the maker of my car, ordered a new transmission, at his expense, expedited the shipping, at his expense and installed this new transmission. The best google search I’ve done in years!! Highly reccecommend Mr. Transmission!!

Terrible!!! First off, when I inquired about my car I explained the problem was that my car was not shifting and they told me in order to fully diagnose my car that they would have to tow it in. The morning of my tow, they forgot to even come get my car. Must have been a sign from God because they then said they needed to take my transmission out and take it apart to see what was wrong. I kept asking for a quote but still did not get one by this time. they removed the transmission and told me what was good and bad. then they hit me with a $2300 bill saying the parts are about $800 and the labor is $1,400!!! i am a single mother and I cant afford that! Then if they went on to say that if I did not get it repaired there then I still would owe about $500 just for towing and taking my transmission out. Paid for work not done!!! I would not recommend this place to anyone! RIPOFF!

Rarely - and I mean extremely rarely - am I impressed w/businesses who expect a pat on the back for doing what they should have done. They’ve hung a shingle and perform a service for clients for money. Some of them are honest, and too many of them are not.Never have I experienced with any other repair shop what I’ve experienced with Mr. Transmission (Charlotte/Matthews location).Joe took my car, and my panicked phone call and calmed me down immediately. “We’ll take a look at it and see what comes next.” When he called me back after having the car driven and tested (over several days), he said what happened seems like a simple anomaly -“chest pains” is how he described it. Hugely relieved, I asked what the damage was. To my complete surprise, Joe asked me only for a review. Which I am more than happy to provide. Going further, based on my experience with Mr. Transmission, they will always be first on my list as long as I have this particular car, I’ll call them first if any of my other three cars act up, and I can tell you they’re going to be receiving some A+ positivity on Facebook. Joe could have charged me. He could have made something up and made me open my wallet for a fictious repair. Instead, he was honest. I had my bmw 650i brought in for a transmission diagnostic due to the car not being able to shift out of second gear. Joe who I primarily spoke with was a nice guy and was prompt with responses. They took the tranny apart and I was told the torque converter was bad and the megatronic valve sensor was bad and it would cost $7100 to rebuilt the tranny. A used tranny costs about 1200-1500 so I opted to just have it replaced with a used one. There was some delay is getting the replacement shipped so I told them I would just take the car back and return it when I got everything sorted out. They said this was fine and they would have it ready to pick up. I gave them a complete car.. what I got back was a car with no transmission in it, several large parts including the tranny, and a bag of small parts. 35% of my car is currently sitting on my storage room. I also got a major oil leak which was not present when the car was given to them. I also got a lot of additional service lights regarding my ABS and suspension system. And a $750 bill for them to tear the car apart and send me back the scraps. I’m also missing several screws to the parts they took out. Lesson learned. I would not recommend anyone take there vehicle to this place. The customer service was good but the service clearly is not.UPDATE: I received an email from what I believe to be the mr transmission Corp office concerning. The review I left on their site. They requested to know the shop that I took the car too then proceeded to explain that mr transmission never puts the transmission back in the car on a diagnostic check unless the cust requests it be put back. Problem is they never told me that they didn’t put it back in until it got picked by AAA. Nor did they tell me none of the under carriage of the car would be put back either. they also stated that the $700 bucks they charged to diagnose the trans does not include putting it back and doing so would incur an additional cost which I assume is $1000 since that what’s they quoted me to install a replacement trans. So $700 to take it out then $1000 to put the same transmission they took out, back in (Also not told to me) The level of professionalism and disclosure of information at the this place beyond Terrible. I’m still waiting to hear back from someone there.

Brought our truck to Frank at Mr transmission in Charlotte. Frank took a stressful situation and Made it easier . Fixed the truck and took care of everything. Will definitely use them for all our vehicle repairs.

I had a very good experience in dealing with Mr Transmission, they took care of all my calls an things,I would recommend anyone to them, service was excellent.

This place is a rip off dont ever take your car here. Transmission just went out and my truck is still under the warranty for the mileage but not for the time. A bunch of scum bags including MR. Frank. I wouldnt be to sad if he had a heart attack at all lol

Ive been living in the charlotte area for about 17 years now and had to get transmission work done. Before google reviews we only had to rely on the BBB and they didnt have too many positive reviews then so i was very skeptical about going there. All in all I decided to try them out anyway to see if what was being reported was true. And i believe it was because of the low and high range estimates they gave me. All the other shops could tell me after they diagnosed my car what was wrong with the transmission and gave me a their flat rate not some ridiculous high and low rate like mr. Transmission gave . When your dealing with that much money to fix a transmission people need affordable honest. Now I decided to take my car somewhere else so i cant really tell u if they scam people or not but I myself am a part time business owner so i know youre obviously are in business to earn a profit. Its just how u go about it, or how much you mark up your prices compared to the industry norm is what will make or break u.

Left my transmission pan loose so after it was towed back to my house, after getting a ridiculous price....all of my transmission fluid is now on the ground.....they will make your car worst if you choose not to use their services. I only gave 1 star because you have too.

I made an appointment for an estimate on a rear differential problem. Got there at the appointed time and was told Thatll be about a 2 hour wait before we can get you in. They could have called and let me know they were short handed, but they did not. Wont be going back there. Busters Transmission Service will be getting my business now.

Had to take my car back more than 8 times for a tran that was replaced by then in less the 6 mo ago!!

Went to mr.transmission in Charlotte. Was told that transmission was fixed and spent 2100 on the rebuilding of the transmission. Transmission is broken again.

AVOID!!!!! This place!!!! Had my transmission rebuilt there not even a year later my transmission is not working! After spending close to $3,000 for them to fix my trans now my transmission doesnt work car is down again and I WILL NOT be taking it to Mr. Transmission. I could have bought a brand new transmission or even taken it to the stealership.
