I like this store. Its like Walmart, Marshalls and cvs got together and open a store with 3/4 of the merchandise but only 1/2 the space. I get the flier and there is always 1 or 2 things they have with a good price that I need. I always leave with double the amount I was suppose to get. Love the food section and the rugs but also always go through the bath stuff, plastic stuff and pet items. There is always something that surprises me and I have to get. Also the seasonal item changes are cool. Good store.

Overall, its a decent store. The staff is at times a little pushy with their rewards program. The carts struggle with going straight and the isles are super narrow. We shop here often and like their selection of tea, spices, and various canned goods.

This place is hit or miss it is what you expect a place that has a lot of items that you could use that are inexpensive. just know that you may find what youre looking for or you may not. But the people that work there are pleasant and its pretty straightforward as opposed to IKEA.

I always love it there...love finding fabulous foreign foods and snacks of all kinds. Rich jams and jellies, sinfully decadent coffees, and of course, local Diet Polar soda!!! I litterally dragged a friend there and she was so amazed...yes, all of that was from her first purchase, and she swears by the cappuccino she bought...and went back for 10 more bricks!!!

I liked it because they have a lot of variety . There is everything you can think of with color choices,different sizes and prices. The cashier really had no clue of what was going on. She just was very disconnected she couldnt help us with an unmarked item. And the manager was busy. At the end the manager made it right. Helo is hard to find nowadays.

Great Customer Service.So even if its months between visits I know that if I need a plastic container or plants for my home .. or that odd item it just might be at Ocean State Job Lot.

I like shopping at Ocean State, as there are hard to find food items. With this pandemic, they are now charging 2% surcharge to give to the employees. Why not give your employees better wages? People have lost their jobs or had taken pay cuts during this difficult time, and Ocean State is asking those consumers to pay surcharge on everything in the store rather than doing the right thing to support their own employees. Even though that 2% surcharge could be asked to be removed at the register, why put your customers in that position? I have personally found some of your employees rude and unhelpful.

The staff is very helpful and courteous very neat store and the prices are great.

Summer time fun time at job lot

You can find things that might not be at Walmart or Target. Prices are pretty reasonable too. Sometimes their Crazy Deals make things work out to be free. Sure, you must spend the Crazy $ at their store, but who else is offering a deal like this? Correct, no one!

We purchased a $235 gazebo early this month. Thursday we assembled it and although several small items were missing and two rails seemed warped, it looked beautiful when when we finally put it all together. We added some candles and enjoyed it all day! The very next day we hung out again, even sent video to our quarantined loved ones. It rained that evening and the winds toppled it over. Hubbie called the number online and spoke to a representative who explained that since it was assembled we would only be able to exchange the item or pay the difference for an upgrade. The next morning we packed up the item and returned it to the store. The woman refused to exchange it! Citing not knowing who we spoke with and wear and tear as the reason. When we spoke with customer service they state returns/ exchanges are at the store managers discretion. So after 1 day of use and overnight rain, the unit had rusted and its our fault and our loss? Weve decided to return any and all unused items weve ever purchased here. Including the unit we purchased to replace it. Cleary the gazebo was defective and the store associate made a choice not to honor their policy. She kept mentioning her own personal prior experience with a toppling unit and the fact that another customer recently had the same issue. Honestly it just made it worse. My suggestion, purchase somewhere that values its customers. Dont spend your time or money here.

Discount products for sale here. Fun to browse. It is hit or miss on what products are available as items come in randomly. I have had some great buys including things like brand name golf shorts, coffee at $4 a pound, reading glasses for $2.99 and micro spikes for $20 that cost $60 at sporting goods stores. And if you are a regular, watch for their Crazy Bucks deals!

A few steps up from a dollar store. Lots of bargains on basics like PJs, shirts, coats, soap, beauty supplies, packaged food, a large selection of coffees, room heaters, pool supplies.I never know what Ill find there on special. Yesterday I saw some decent snow shoes for under $40. I like getting the Indian food packages for $2 vs $3.50+ at the grocery store.OSJL reminds me of some of the bargain stores from days gone by, only they pack it into a smaller, cleaner space with more available staff.

Went in there today 5/4/2020 during the pandemic craze and it was shocking how many people they let in the store with out any PPE. Employees were protected but many customers werent wearing any protection which made me uncomfortable.

This store offers great deals but is just abysmal with regard to organization and cleanliness. Dirty floors, drab colors, and just a slight scent in the air that makes me feel the place hasnt been deep cleaned since the day it opened. Often find merchandise in incorrect places or just so out of place or overstocked on shelves its difficult to sort through.

Ocean State is a discount store that sells clothes, packaged foods, seasonal items, housewares, pet supplies, cleaning supplies and toiletries. Their prices are discounted, sometimes very significantly, but you have to be an educated shopper to benefit. Some items are just cheap, while others are quality items at good prices. Staff is usually helpful.

Great place to find discontinued and outsourced but unique items that are solely found in the health and beauty aisles in most grocery stores..Such a wonderful array of items that are neatly displayed for customer enjoyment

Everything i needed to clise my pool at a great price

Very inefficient. I understand the place a mess I get it. But they were trying to raise money for food for ? They needed 600$ to be raised in 15 minutes. That 2as a laugh if you only get 4 customers through in 5 minutes. With only 3 registers open. Ridiculous 10 days before christmas

Its such a huge mess evry time I go there. Large pallets over 5ft tall in the middle of aisles. Stuff everywhere with no organization at all to it. Im surprised no one has tripped n fallen n broken a leg on all the junk they have all over the sales floor. Pretty sure the store definitely has fire code violations. Idk how they r able to stay open. The city enforcement people should really go there n check it out.

Ocean State is one of my favorite stores. They have a lot of reasonably-priced European-made foods not found in supermarkets.

Generally a good place for a bargain, especially food and house hold items. Great selection of foreign foods especially. Worth checking packets of things havent been opened though. Friendly staff.

What else can I say but its an Ocean State Job Lot and you either love it or hate it. For as chaotically organized as this store is, it has a wide variety of merchandise. I normally go there when Im looking for something other stores dont stock( like a unique ingredient for cooking) or Im just looking for a bargain on something I really dont need. Its a fun store and youll walk out of there with stuff( but inexpensive) that you didnt know you needed.

They didnt have the phone cable I needed for my charger so they directed me to another place that didnt have it either. So I googled, went to Best Buy & lived happily ever after. (Hey really dont have a lot of stuff ya, know) Cheers!

Bought condiments,bottled beets, electrical extension cord, hand sanitizer, soft drinks, pens, and snacks. Theyre cheaper than regular supermaket stuffs. There are no fresh produce. Generally, their home improvement supplies and outdoor tools are cheaper than those in regular hardware stores. Customer service is very good.

Bargains, nothing fancy, pricing is very good on select items. Staff was semi engaged. Overall I would recommend to someone on a budget.
