AAMCO in Manassas is the place to take your car for transmission repairs. I had my manual transmission rebuilt there for my 2007 Honda Civic SI sedan and it is now shifting very smoothly. Jake is very professional and is accurate with estimates. He told me how long it would take to get the job done and explained everything in detail. I knew exactly what to expect so there were no surprises. Jake also went above and beyond by offering to drop off my car when it was done. In addition, he replaced my weak battery at no additional cost! Excellent customer service and overall great experience!

Terry at AAMCO helped us with a transmission diagnostic check. He was friendly, honest, and straightforward about our issues. The service was much faster than expected and very thorough, and they didnt charge us a penny for a good amount of time spent out of their day. Had my trucks transmission rebuild here. Not the cheapest in town but everyone was friendly and they stand behind their work. Warranty is pretty solid too. Id definitely recommend these guys even if you have to pay a little extra for the peace of mind and great service.

Visited AAMCO this morning. The customer service was excellent. Did their best to fit me in, which was much appreciated. Rob was awesome to work with. The waiting area looked well maintained and clean. Had good recommendations for my vehicle and I didnt feel pressured when noting them. Was in and out within an hour. I highly recommend them.

Jake at AAMCO was very PROFESSIONAL, KNOWLEDEGABLE & COURTEOUS. The diagnosis I received concerning my car (2014/Nissan Altima) was spot on. I took it to AAMCO prior to taking it back to the dealership (3rd time). With the diagnosis & helpful info/tips I received from Jake/AAMCO, I was able to speak clearly and with a better understanding to the dealership. Thank you so much Jake!

I was referred to AAMCO Manassas for new transmission lines on my Ford Fusion. They were very professional and willing to work with me every step of the process. I was able to drop my car off after hours and they called me with any updates as they worked on it. After picking up my car, it over heated (which is weird because thats not connected to the transmission) and I called them back. Two of the employees met me where I parked, added coolant, and had me go back so they could look at it. They were extremely helpful and did a couple checks. After, told me to keep an eye on it and bring it back if they were any issues. Great customer service and I will continue to keep coming back!!

Kevin does a good job walking you through what needs to be done to your vehicle and giving you an estimate range. He fit me in and did a diagnostic in the middle of the day.i would have given another star but they were delayed on working on my car on the scheduled date because they had not ordered all the parts ahead of time. To make up for the delay they paid for two days worth of rental car so i thought that was pretty reasonable.I had a clutch replacement and new cat. So far i am satisfied with the results.

I highly recommend this shop to anyone who is looking for an incredible experience and for the amazing customer service and the work that they do! Terry the owner is one of the nicest guys you can ever meet very professional and extremely helpful his staff of mechanics and particularly Jake are equally professional and extremely helpful! Unfortunately I have limited knowledge about cars and repairs I feel I have learned valuable lessons from Terry and Jake! It was discovered that my car had a major transmission issue and was diagnosed by the mechanics fortunately for me it was a service recall item so the Ford Dealership has to pay for the repairs! I saved $7,900. Jake helped me by telling me the truth! Very honest business practices which is something we need particularly now! Two weeks ago, I called to see if they could look at my car on a Friday. My car was in desperate need of a clutch, so much so, I wasnt sure if it would make it to the shop from across Manassas. Not only did they get my car in for inspection, they called me within an hour of dropping it off and was able to start the job the same day. Called me Saturday to inform me I needed a flywheel as well. Friday they gave me an estimate for the clutch only and another adding the flywheel which I felt was reasonable. I was told the car would be completed Monday morning. I was called at 10 am that the car was done and ready to be picked up. Since I have had my car back, it drives like a dream. Have had no issues what so ever. Its nice have a good clutch again. I will be taking another one of my vehicles to them shortly. Thank you to the AAMCO team.

This place is awesome. I brought my Chevy Sonic in because it was constantly overheating and the last place I was at told me it was the radiator fan. I got the part myself and Midas said they couldnt get the old one out without needing to replace the radiator as well. (Typical repair shop con) I cut ties with Midas after this and went to AAMCO for a second opinion. They looked at it same day I brought it in without an appointment. Jake (aamcos front office guy) kept me informed every step of the way. After confirming it was infact the fan I brought it in and proceeded to have the work done. Not only did they beat the price by Midas by a long shot they had it done in maybe 1.5 hours. They made me feel like a priority not just another customer. I have never had such an experience at an auto repair shop. They give you pricing up front so there was never any questions about how much it would cost. If needed there is also a finance option for you if ur repair is on the costly side. I highly recommend this Aamco in Manassas. Go see Jake and hell take care of you! I know Ill be going back for my next oil change and future repairs.

My car is my living. I had a transmission trouble on a Friday at 6:00 a.m. I called to hopefully leave a message to see if I could get in and get it checked out that day he helped me with a tow connection told me to their shop they checked it out it wasnt extreme they were able to get the part and fix it same day push me to the front of the line to help my business and I really appreciated that these are good guys to deal with.

Although the folks here seem nice, I know that much of the service I paid for did not happen. Frankly, Im not sure what was actually done.I bought a synthetic oil change and tire rotation, which comes with the coveted 36-point inspection.Advertised as a 30 minute process, mine took about 90 minutes. I had marked my tires (left front, left rear, etc) and immediately confirmed that they had not rotated the tires. I checked fluid levels and saw that the wiper fluid was empty. The coolant level was below the low line. I then realized that the test drive had not happened, which is instrumental to the 36-point inspection. What HAD they done?Being concerned about the actual synthetic oil change, I brought the car to a local garage. I was told that it does not appear to be new oil, but has a few miles left on it. Awesome! Thanks AAMCO!

The check engine light on my car lit up, on top of that it was making terrible jerking movements. I went to the shop where I USED to be a regular at,they told me I was going to need a whole new transmission. As I debated on what to do for about a week, I decided to go to AAMCO for a second opinion. Turns out, I didnt need a new transmission, I was just extremely low on fluid. Rob, (who is FREAKING AWESOME!!!!!) Gave me a little demonstration of what the problem was. I didnt even pay HALF of what I thought I would when I was told I needed a new transmission. I truly appreciate their hard work and honesty. Rob scheduled a week checkup to see if there was a leak, after the week checkup, we scheduled a month checkup. Everything was fine, no leaks! I was there recently for an oil change a month or so of checking my transmission. Every time I go to AAMCO, Rob and the guys always deliver the best customer service! I think I found a new shop to take care of my wrangler! Thank you AAMCO Manassas! :)

I went in last week to do a transmission flush. My appointment was for 9am, and to my luck the previous manager who is no longer there had me at 10am. I was in a rush that day and had made all my arrangements to be there by 9am. Rob, was very apologetic and offered to do the transmission flush as soon as possible, and he did not disappoint at all, my car was done by 10:30am. I will definitely be back to this AAMCO location, felt very welcomed and had a great experience! Thanks Rob for your help!

Apparently the place is under new ownership. The manager, Rob was extremely polite over the phone and in person. They didnt try to upsell me any thing and I was in and out in a half hour. Much better experience than I expected. They are trying hard to build business. I would come back.

My first ever experience with an AAMCO and it was a good one. My 2014 Jetta GLI Autobahn was in good hands. They installed a new engine and got her back to me running nicely! I will take my Jetta back again.Kevin was excellent! He kept me up to date and calm through the whole process and was knowledgeable. He has a great deal of patience (says alot dealing with me ;) and customer service that is definitely worth being recognized for!

Called AAMCO to get a oil change, the guy told me they are only M-F for a oil changes. I wanted to make a appointment, and they where booked two weeks out. Shell gas station takes you in right away and have better price.

I wish there was a way to leave zero stars, this is by far the worst auto repair shop I have ever dealt with. I take my 2002 Chevy Tahoe here because my transmission is slipping, the guy Kevin calls me back and say that they diagnosed the problem and that he recommends that my transmission be rebuilt. Kevin tells me to get started on the job that they need 1500, I ask what is the total price to complete the job? Kevin says we wont know the total price until we get inside the transmission and replace the broken components, I say no I dont want to do that, I suggest lets replace the transmission with a remanufactured one. Kevin tells me that is the most expensive option and that would cost me 4500.00. I said 4500.00 to replace a transmission on a 2002 Chevy Tahoe, I already did a little research of my own and a remanufactured transmission for my truck only cost 1100.00 with a 5 year warranty. The shop manager Kevin is the most incompetent slime bag I have ever encountered at an auto repair shop. Stay away from this place, terrible people especially Kevin. My experience was at the Manassas Va location off of crestwood dr. I will never go to another AAMCO location for the rest of my life!

I only come here for my oil changes. Great coupon for a synthetic oil change. Rob definitely goes above and beyond. Excellent customer service. He is a very down to earth humble person who does not sugarcoat things. He is very honest with his customers, which I know I appreciate very much. Majority of mechanics are just out for the money, but NOT Rob he is always upfront and honest 🙂.Every time I come here it always feels like I am just visiting a friend. He takes the time to engage in conversation and get to know his customers. Thanks Rob to you and your staff!So the above post I did 5 months ago. The following is my 2nd review 5 months later......Not a good experience....give it 1 ⭐Where is Rob? Just setting up appointment over the phone last week was painful with Jim. Now I am here for my appointment and have no idea who they have working in the office but geeze man seems like he has no idea what he is doing on the computer. I clearly advised that I always get my oil changes here. Tell me why he asks me this when I JUST mentioned it. Taking forever for the guy to get me checked in. Seriously sitting here while he is scrutinizing the coupon for the oil change. These are the same coupons I get from their direct website for this location. Went there with a Groupon for synthetic oil change. I was told that Mobile 1 would cost extra which was not listed in the fine print. Anyway, I appreciated that Rob told me that upfront. Although, there was a problem getting the oil from another store which delayed our service. As a courtesy, Rob didnt charge us. He was pleasant and apologetic for the inconvenience that was out of his hands. I would definitely, return because I felt that my business was valued here.

Had a transmission error code which was quickly diagnosed with another code, all electrics were checked and solenoids replaced which brought my truck back to running order, no bs and was informed of everything either up front or when it happened, pretty quick turn around too considering how deep they had to go into my transmission

Went to a different auto shop and they said Id need to have my radiator replaced for $400. Spoke with Frank at AAMCO and he said I may not - bring the car in, let them check it out, and theyll let me know. Plus, if I had them fix the problem, theyd credit the diagnostic fee towards the repair! They took the car right in, diagnosed the problem as trapped air in the cooling system, and charged me $186 - a lot less than what I was told by the other place! Great service, Frank!

I don’t normally post reviews, but after my experience with AAMCO in Manassas with Jim, I wanted to.It appears this place has very good customer service if you get to work with Rob. However, I got the misfortune of having to speak with someone named Jim.I called inquiring about a service and, as most people would, inquire about how much it may cost me given different outcomes of the diagnosis.Jim said he would call me back, and, after an hour of waiting I politely called back asking if there was any update (I’m in a huge time crunch).That is when Jim began giving me perhaps the worst customer service experience I have ever received from anyone.In my phone calls with Jim, he was extraordinarily belittling to me, spoke very demeaningly to me, seemed very, very flustered, and downright rude.For example, I called him back to ask a follow-up question and said “Hi, I know you’re busy and don’t want to take up a lot of your time but I just have a question.”He responded by saying “Well, you’re already taking up my time, so what can I do for you?”The way he spoke to me and answered my questions was horrific customer experience. I hope this review makes it to Jim’s Supervisor because he can obviously not manage being in the store alone by himself or working the phones. I will never use this AAMCO again and will be weary of using all AAMCOs throughout the experience because of my experience speaking to Jim.In reply to the below response from AAMCO, because it is not allowing me to comment on their response directly:I am not sure how you could have possibly looked up my name or service done given my comment, as I did not provide any of that.Furthermore, after speaking with Jim I was so offput that I took my business elsewhere, so even if you did have information, you would not find me in the system because I did not go through with the service.

Took my cars there many times for oil changes because of the Groupon. Took it for normal oil change and synthetic ones. They are a bargain. I hate how other oil change shops charge you extra for special filter or shop disposal fees. At this AAMCO in manassas they dont charge you extra. They only open Monday to Friday, a slight convenience. You must make an appointment to use the groupon, I had to wait 2 weeks.Id rather go to a place I trust than go elsewhere. Oil changes take about an hour to do. Dont come if you expect 10 minute service. While you wait there is free wifi.At the end of the service, the management does not try to upsell stuff which is what I liked. I even asked if there were any problems.Other times, I came for a check engine light. That was free to check. They also did a free diagnosis of the car too. A more through check required payment. But there was no pressure at all. You get informed of options.Always helpful, Rob, the owner or manager gives advice over the phone, quotes, so you dont waste time.I always use this place. Its local.Normal oil changes every 3k and synthetic is 5k miles....I always thought synthetic gets you 7.k to 10k miles......

First of all, I dont write reviews of experiences good or bad, so this definitely means the service was top notch! It started with the phone call to make the appointment. I first called the Woodbridge location (a little bit closer to me) last Monday hoping for a Wednesday afternoon slot. They were full till Friday. Ok, so I called the Manassas location. Rob answered and had a 3pm which I requested for my Transmission Flush. I back tracked a little as I would be leaving from work and didnt want to be late. I then asked for a 3:15pm or 3:30pm. He said why dont we set you up at 4pm to give you more time. I agreed and he reiterated my day and time prior to the call ending Definitely needed it as I got there at 3:45pm. Upon arrival, he greeted me, told me the steps they were going to take (test drive, check for leaks prior to flush), then we proceed to just chop it up. He told me good and bad stories hes dealt with working in the industry. It was just purely a pleasant time. The Transmission Flush was done in less than an hour, which flew by due to his excellent customer service! Upon checkout he recommended I get an inspection, because during the test drive he said my car was sticking a little bit. This Ive known, but I had taken my car to two other shops and no cared to take the time to drive it to notice. I told him I would most likely be returning. I live in Silver Spring, but I would drive the extra miles because I know my car will be serviced properly and I will get superior customer service! Yall go holla at Rob in Manassas, hes doing the damn thing at that Aamco!!

I bought a Groupon for a standard oil change and was hesitant at first because of the negative reviews but still I went ahead since I know sometimes reviews arent as reliable. Went in a 10 mins earlier than my scheduled time at 4pm but got serviced right away. I appreciated it cause I had to also stop by Shells for an emission check afterwards and was worried I wouldnt make it in time before 5pm but I was out by 4:45pm. They also replaced my left tag light which wasnt a part of the Groupon deal at no extra cost which I also really appreciated. Overall, my experience was a pleasant one and the staffs were really hospitable and friendly.

I was told they open at 7:00 am, I got there on time and had to wait one hour for them to open the store. They told me they will call me with a diagnostic and never called me until I had called for an update. Again they told me they will call me before the close of business and did not. I ended up renting a car for three days, and then when I finally call them back on Monday, they told me it was going to cost me $1800. I took my car to another place got my transmission seled for 459.00. Stay clear from this place. They are a rip off.

To whom it may concern..to all potential Manassas aamco customers.I purchased a Groupon oil change with aamco...called in and they were booked a month out..so scheduled it for 10am a month out. Came in 10 minutes early..the car was not seen till 10:45. Upon hearing my displeasure they rushed through the oil change... No filter and no 36 point inspection. Please stay away and avoid the hassle and dishonest work.. I never leave reviews of any sort but felt compelled to alert the uniformed.

Got my valve cover gaskets replaced here, made it 300 miles before the engine started smoking. Its the valve cover gaskets. Of course, now Im in the middle of nowhere and the local aamco isnt open on Saturday. Had to go to the meineke next door. And guess what, its the valve cover gaskets leaking. Well see if they reimburse me.

Staff were forthcoming and helpful, the customer lounge was clean and comfortable, and the work was done on time and at a fair price. I made an appointment and they were ready for me at the scheduled time, which I always appreciate because its a pet peeve when you schedule a job and have to sit around and wait.

We went for a tune-up. The website said tune-ups started at $150, so, silly us, we assumed it would be in that ballpark and didnt ask for a specific quote.When I went to pick it up, the bill was NINE HUNDRED DOLLARS! I asked why it cost so much, and the owner replied that the model of my car (GMC Safari) is difficult and it took them five hours to do. We were charged $500 for labor, so that comes to $100 an hour. If a couple of mechanics can make $100 an hour changing spark plugs, I shouldnt have gone to college!They overcharged for pretty much every item on the invoice, and after all that, as I was walking out, the owner said, You should get your fluids topped off soon too; we can do that for you next time! All that money and they didnt even top off any of the fluids? There sure as heck isnt going to be a next time!
