Pleasantly surprised. I liked the simple layout and fun flavor combinations. I appreciated that they had a mini size which is really still plenty. Having yogurt as an option was also a plus. Four stars instead of five only because although the concept is unique and fun to watch I thought it made the texture just a little off.

The doughnut was hard and dry. The ice cream tasted only bananas. It was not the best rolled ice cream I’ve ever had.

In these times customer service is a key for the ice cream business. And this place is lacking this. I asked for a banana split and I seen it on the menu online. I was told this Madison store dont have it. Wold of been nice to have this after a 20mile drive for this split.

I bought a smore regular rolled ice cream and namaste milkshake. The employee barely put any of the ingredients in the rolled ice cream it didnt taste like what I ordered, I get you add toppings you want but it didnt help. Plus you dont get toppings for the milkshake so it tasted like plain vanilla not strawberry cheesecake. Waste of my money

It was so good! Customer service was great 👍 we were new customers and I wasnt sure how it worked. The people were really sweet and took the time to walk you through it. Absolutely loved the birthday cake and the namaste on the chocolate covered Strawberry waffle. Definitely, a new spot for me and the kids.

Not your ordinary ice cream shop. Sweet Charlies offers a unique experience in that your order is prepared right in front of you on extreme cold slabs. then rolled up and holds its consistency for a good length of time. several choices of toppings and flavors. Will definitely be back.

Got two waffles with ice cream and fixings to go. It was awesome. This place should be on everyones radar. They have hand rolled ice cream that is.made right in front of you. They has loads of toppings to choose from. Go check itnout. Get a cone, a cup, a waffle or a donut.

Stopped by for an impromptu dessert, wasn’t amazing but wasn’t bad. They have a good selection including a vegan based cream. Thought it was pricey for the amount of ice cream you receive. The toppings at the end are unlimited but they are very skimpy when adding them. It was very loud when they were mixing the ice cream, almost to the point you couldn’t hold a conversation. Not sure I would keep coming back.

We were in this place for 40 minutes waiting on 2 mini ice cream cups. The employees were rude and didn’t seem to know what they were doing very well. Will be surprised if this place is open too much longer.Edit: The manager responded to my review and asked me to call her. I did so and she was extremely apologetic and offered numerous times to make things right. She was very very sweet. If the employees take anything from this, just be nice. Smile. Don’t make a customer feel bad because they are frustrated from having to wait so long. You never know what kind of day they (or their child, who was with me) are having. Treat others how you would like to be treated. That is all. Thank you May for your kindness and professional manor.

Best little ice cream shop in town hands down. There is something for everyone. The kiddos will love just watching them make the ice cream but the adults find it pretty cool as well. Customer service is outstanding. The owner is always super nice and willing to explain the menu or answer any questions you may have. Oh if you dont want ice cream they have the BEST cookies! They are some of the most gooey, warmest, delicious cookies Ive ever had. If i had to choose a favorite i would say the namaste on a waffle, yes a waffle, not waffle cone, but a sweet waffle with strawberries and nutella😋 thank me later😉. I could talk about it all day but you have to try them for yourself, I promise you wont be disappointed.

Went on Tuesday evening this week, and the girl behind the counter was so sweet and proficient with the rolling process! Everything tasted wonder and prices are great too!

At first, this place is great for the unique experience of being able to see the ingredients you want being made into ice cream right in front of you. But even after that novelty wears off, the ice cream you get from here tastes great and has a ton of variety. Notably, this place has vegan ice cream and chocolate, so if youre trying to avoid milk based ice cream, whether youre a vegan or have allergies, you have options! Because its so customizable, you know exactly whats in your food, and because of this, its easy to leave Sweet Charlies feeling almost as if youve just finished eating something healthy! Which, if you order fruit, you probably did! Additionally, the employees are very kind. The only con of going here is that other ice cream just wont be as good any more ever again. If youre in the area, at the very least, you should give this experience a try.

Went in and ordered a half dozen cookies. No one else was inside. The two employees stared at each other for about two minutes before finally putting the cookies in the box. Asked for a bathroom. Was told no public bathroom was available....Best part? The cookies were rock hard and small. $6 for 6 cookies. And they were small. And nasty. Ive had better from the Walmart deli section and that isnt saying much. And there you spend $6 youre getting about 24 cookies. That are edible.I was SHOCKED to discover this is a chain. If they keep making cookies like that, theyll go bankrupt.

I had Off Duty flavored ice cream. Made with bits of coffee and pieces of doughnuts. Remarkably full of flavor.

I am writing this review as I am standing in line. It is 4:25pm and I have been standing here for 15 minutes and have yet to order. The shop is not crowded. The problem is that one employee is currently here in the store. There are 10 customers and the employee is overwhelmed. This ice cream takes a long time to prepare and to only schedule one employee, especially during the after school hour, is an egregious error on behalf of the manager. This is not okay.

This place is awesome! People are very nice here and it is fun to watch what they do. They add toppings and stuff to what you already asked for if you want it. Very very good rolled up ice cream. Go here for fun.

Amazing ice cream! My absolute favorite as of now. Tonight was our first time trying it. They freeze it up right in front of you. Still a new place, so they dont do all the tricks that a more experienced person would. But I see promise in the ones there tonight. Very friendly staff. I highly recommend this place. Very unique and delicious!

First time visiting and will definitely come back again. The quality is great, the staff is very friendly at the Madison location and the ice cream is delicious, some reviews talk about it being pricey, but I see it as a luxury ice cream that takes effort to make. It’s not just someone scooping it out of a bucket.5/5 stars and I’ll definitely tell everyone I know.Only downside is we drove around trying to find it because the sign is small, lol.

Its an extra hot day so we decided to get some ice cream. Sweet Charlies sells made to order rolled ice cream, frozen yogurt or a vegan option prepared right in front of you on an extra cold slab so you get a smooth and creamy fresh dessert. Tax and toppings are included in the price. The toasted marshmallow was a great topping.

The ice-cream rolls was delicious. The employees were very nice.

Went to this new Madison establishment for ice cream this evening. It was neat to watch it made then rolled.. Flavor was OK, but nothing special. For $5 per mini I was expecting more. Great service at this location.

Great place to bring your kids for a unique ice cream experience. I especially loved that they had a vegan base which is awesome for those who have a dairy allergy or intolerance. The staff were super friendly and the restaurant was very clean. It is a definite must try!

This place was pretty good. I would go back again. Gave a 4 star because I like some other places better but I can see how people would love it here.

Extremely expensive for size and quality. We took smallest option which with tax was still over $10 for the two of us. Sort of a neat concept, they poor the liquid and ingredients on a cold plate freezes while stirring and then roll thin strips. Ice cream was OK but really nothing special. I also sort of resented the idea that the credit card reader made you select whether to give a tip or not -before youd been served and had any clue what type service you were going to get -and it is fast food after all. Wont be going back -but you might want to try once for experience.

Went there today and tried it out. The family ordered a banana milk shake and birthday cake ice cream. I tried the frozen yogurt, all of it was really good.

Experience of watching your icecream be created before your eyes is entertaining. Quantity recieved vs price makes this not as good a value as other cold treat places in the area. There are lots of options and you can choose from typical cream, yogurt or vegan options. Even with mixing in items the final product did not seem as flavorful as I would have hoped. Being new there was steady stream of people.

Not only was the ice cream delicious, but its a fun, different way to experience it. The staff was super friendly and so patient with my kids while they were trying to decide what they wanted.

I bought the mini cup for $5. Definitely not worth the money. When it started to melt it like water and oreo. It tasted bland to be honest. Floor looked dirty. Will not be wasting another $5 on that mess.

Service is excellent consistently and flavors have yet to disappoint. Favorites so far are smores and monkey see monkey do.
