The staff here is really great. Very friendly and they remember your name. Ranges are good and seem pretty easy to get time on them. I definitely recommend checking them out.
Bought a glock 19x last week off of the blue label deal. Had a great experience. The guys were extremely nice, helpful and professional. I couldnt say enough good about these guys.
I think that giving 3 stars is very generous, mainly for showroom presentation, as there was an older man, Larry, that was very rude. Apparently, customers have to be gunsmiths in order to buy ammo. Be prepared to take a verbal quiz with this guy, anyway he very condescending. Will not be returning.
Great bunch of experienced guys. Would recommend
It felt more like a family they helped me when purchasing my first rifle they walked me through and everything friendly people would recommend
There is an older gentleman that works at this location. He was very short with me, and slightly rude. I held my composure. I figured maybe he was just having a bad day. I was just simply checking for ammo and asking about the prices on the ARs they had currently in stock. This was several months back. It just stuck with me though. Because of that, I have not returned since. I never will. Customer service is key.
Great friendly staff, very clean store and very clean range. Great selection, although you will be paying close to OEM prices. With that, however, you will be getting quality well conditioned firearms. Owner Russ is very friendly and loves to meet his customers. A+ experience for the shop and range.
This is where I got my first firearm, people have been friendly and nice.I will continue to give them my business
Nice friendly staff that are very knowledgeable and helpful, and they have a nice gun range. This is my first choice when I want to go to the range. They are also great for groups. Our mens group reserved one side of the range for a very reasonable price. They have several gun safety and self defense classes that my wife has taken that I recommend for anyone that is a novice or seasoned gun owner. I highly recommend Last Resort Guns & Range.
Cant speak to their selection or prices. Hadnt been in the store for a minute when a couple of the staff accosted my wife for not pulling her mask back up fast enough after taking a sip of her coffee. There are plenty of places to buy guns at reasonable prices around here. Cant think of a reason Id ever go back. You only get one chance to make a first impression, guys, and you blew yours.
Not the place to have a scope mounted! Nice place, nice people but no clue how to mount a scope
If you like a stale overpriced gunshop, well they named their store correctly its the last resort for you to do your shopping. They do have some decent handgun prices from time to time now.
Walked in a got kicked out for not wearing a mask by a kid behind the counter wearing a cotton/polyester mask that has most certainly never been properly cleaned in a medical grade washing machine. If Covid-19 was as dangerous as the media portrays, that mask would be the most dangerous thing in the building.Theres something very depressing about a firearms company that enforces tyrannical mask mandates. Theres to many good options out there that dont bow to the crown.
Very helpful staff. Made sure I found the right gun for me. Then the owner came out and explained how the gun range works and all the rates. Cant wait till my gun comes in so my wife and I can sign up on a family plan on the gun range.
Ive purchased 4 guns here through their online store. 3 out of 4 arrived within 2 business days. Each time I recieved the most courteous call possible to inform me of their arrival. Prices have always been below what I found in surrounding stores. The staff has always been pleasant while they run my background check. This store is easily my preferred location to buy.
Great prices and very knowledgeable staff
Last Resort is awesome range. The people are top notch and facilities are clean ( and comfortable). I m newer to firearms. Great place to come learn and practice. Can t say enough great things about the people working there. They have a passion for firearms and it shows.
Had a lot of items that are very fair on price and the website makes me want to shop more here
Friendly staff, extremely knowledgeable about products. The family range package for a year is an AWESOME value. My go-to range from here on out! They treat everyone with so much respect, to include Veterans!
Provides gun safety courses for newcomers and the indoor range is tightly secure. Staff is very efficient, knowledgeable, and willing to answer questions you may have regarding proper firearm usage. The minimum fee is $20 per adult each day, which may seem expensive, but its well worth the price compared with going to a public range with no security guard present like Swan Creek.
Using my daughters account to write this review as I dont have one. I use this range on a weekly basis. The staff has always been friendly and helpful, never have I had a bad experience. Ive talked to the owner a couple of times and hes always treated me well and answered any questions Ive asked. My only wish is that they were closer to me as its a little over an hour drive from where I live.
We made several purchases from the Last Resort Guns & Range. The staff was extremely helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly. We had the ability to test different firearms at their in house range, which was very helpful in making a decision on the the right purchase. As my husband tested different firearms, the Range Master pointed out subtle differences in the features of the tested firearms. The cost of the the firearms, ammunition, and accessories is reasonable. We had a terrific experience and will return to Last Resort Guns & Range for future purchases and to practice on their range.
I took the Practical Concealed Carry Class with my son to prepare him for his right to defend himself. It was my 5th course from Last Resort. David was the instructor and did an outstanding job. Folks at Last Resort are first class!
Great range and gun store. The staff is knowledgeable and willing to help at any time. Cant say enough good things about the ROs - top notch. They keep a SAFE and CLEAN shooting environment which is my top priority. Been a range member for years and dont plan changing that.
LRGI is an excellent environmentally controlled indoor range and gun store. The friendly knowledgeable staff makes everyone feel welcome regardless of their firearms experience. They promote safe shooting enjoyment with a variety of training and competitive shooting events to include fully sanctioned U.S. Practical Shooting Association matches. Their membership discounts available for active, retired military, and active USPSA members are a plus. Highly recommended to anyone wanting to learn how to safely enjoy shooting sports, or improve their shooting skills through competition.
It was my first time visiting this range, and my significant others first time shooting a firearm. Letting the staff know this, they were very amicable, providing great information that eased my S.O. into her first experience with firearms. Because of this, we had a great experience. We rented all gear from them, but they do allow for individuals to bring in their own firearms. Would highly recommend this range to the first timer or seasoned shooter
I loved the indoor gun range. The staff is friendly and attentive, and very knowledgeable about their products. Many of them are veterans, so I definitely feel confident in the advice and training they gave me. You wont find better training or service in North Alabama!
I was at their range, and their sales employees were very rude and disrespectful.
Great facility. They are neither a franchise of a nationwide chain nor a volume dealer. You cannot expect discounted prices. You can expect high quality items at regular prices. They are making their niche by offering the best customer service, and a state of the art indoor range that accommodates rifles. If you are new to guns, you need not feel intimidated. You can ask them and they wont humiliate you. They have female staff members and instructors. Best firearms establishment in north Alabama!
I came to last resort as a first time shooter. I was terrified to pick up a weapon and even enter the store. The staff had me completely relaxed in a matter of minutes. They are kind, courteous, and truly care. I have now taken several class from their facility and their knowledge and patience to customers is unmatched. I frequently use their range and the range officers are always experienced, very help, and have your safety at the highest concerns. I would highly recommend any first time buyers, shooters, or anyone looking to purchase a firearm go here first. It is a fun but experienced environment.
Great place, great people, just double check that they give you the correct gun when purchasing...
Great range. Safety first, which I love. Store is clean and the people who work there are very knowledgeable. Prices are competitive. In the range the Range Masters are amazing. Always ready to assist you with any problems, gun malfunctions, analyze and help you correct any issues re shooting. We belong to the range and always will.
Nice staff. Customer service seems nice. Not quite sure why the name of the store is Last Resort. It is exactly what it says. I go as a last resort. They need more higher end items. Would like to see more AR/AK parts. And lot more ammo.If they dealt with Class 3 stuff it would be awesome.
*RECENT EXPERIENCE* Purchased a lower receiver from their website one evening. A week later it came in and was picked up promptly by me. Hassle free and a speedy in and out. Looking forward to additional interactions & sales from this store.I wont claim to be a firearms expert like the ones who throw out 1-star reviews, but the range is a decent size for an indoor setting. Ive been to similar sized gun shop/ranges so no real need to complain about it. Heck, at least here I dont have to pick up my brass afterwards since they do it at the end of day.If you just need some firearm therapy, this range will suffice.
43 dollars for a box of 50 blazer 10mm plinking rounds? Same box is 16.99 from midway, Thats rediculous! Shouldve waited for larrys to open!! Will never go back!! Beware
Excellent! Fresh, modern facility. Dont mind the price being a bit higher than the one indoor range in Huntsville, the slightly higher price helps keep the undisciplined, shady people out. That may sound bad, but it is the truth. The staff is very helpful yet they dont wait to pounce on you if you fire a couple rounds too fast. Safety is everywhere you look and it is stressed by all. They are well planned and they also evolve as they observe the trends and inquiries of their customers.
Range is fine, staff seem disinterested, prices are high, range doesnt allow aluminum casings but this is not made clear before purchase of range pass and isnt clearly displayed anywhere that I could see other than a door inside the range which was open and therefore not visible upon my visit. The main rule sign in the prep room has no listing under the ammunition heading stating that aluminum casings are not allowed, although it makes mention of several other rounds that are not allowed. Being told I couldnt shoot my ammo after already paying for range time and buying targets and setting up in a lane, thus forcing me to buy their in house overpriced brass definitely soured my experience.
Overpriced on all items from guns to ammo to accessories. Staff staff consisted of a bunch of little boys who knew next to nothing about the firearms and the older employees were condescending. Why the hell are people shopping here? We have so many established gun shops in the area with at least twice the selection and better prices. Not to mention actual knowledge about their products. I agree with the last post. Piss on this place. Waste of time and money. Definitely for the influx of northerners that obviously have no damn clue how to buy a gun. Not to mention the range is only fifty yards I think. Might be 25. Worthless experience all around.
Had a great first experience there but the ammo was slightly expensive I must say. Staff seemed to be minding their own business and talking amongst themselves. I only seen 1 person working out of like 5 people being there, which would explain the high prices
Great shooting range. Attendants are very helpful.
Nice indoor range and friendly knowledgeable staff.
Great selection! The staff has always been friendly and helpful, unlike some pawn shops where the guy behind the counter is only interested in chatting up his buddy.Range has good lighting and climate control. Additionally range events keep shooting fun and engaging well past the 400 rd count/month; other than shooters trying to find their zen, dynamic and interesting shooting event is the best.
This range has many shooting events going on throughout the month. Also, the staff is friendly and very knowledgeable. The facility is neatly organized with plenty of merchandise to choose from. While their guns may not be at discount prices, theres a good selection. The shooting ranges are well ventilated and nicely maintained. I would say the fees for non-members are quite high. If you shoot a lot and get a membership, its probably worth it. Otherwise, the range fee is a bit ridiculous.
Super range. Clean, well maintained, superb safety enforcement. Great place to shoot, shop, and retain skills.
What a great day spent with my dad and my son.The staff is super friendly and helpful, the range is an excellent 25M range, and they have anything for sale that you might have forgotten at home ( cough CLP).While I agree that the prices for items are a bit higher than youll find at Wally-world, you are paying for the excellent service they provide. We fired for over an hour and had a great time. The range is climate controlled which was nice on a cold spring day. My dad is 83 and he gets cold very easily, but he had no complaints at all. Thanks again to the owner, the RSOs, and the other staff of Last Resort!
Wonderful people in this shop, very knowledgeable and helpful about every type of gun. They will always get my business!
As a newbie to shooting, they have always been helpful and supportive of me and my family improving our shooting skills and gun safety.
The staff was incredible rud to us when we were purchasing our range and also when we were in the range shooting. They acted like we were stupid when it came to how to handle guns. They also never once told us we couldnt us aluminum ammo until we were already shooting. The prices were very high for a below average gun range. I would never recommend this range considering that you could go shoot for free at Swan Creek a couple miles down the road.
I have had good and bad experiences here. Most recent was positive. Had a good time using the range. Another time I got a weird reaction from a worker when I asked if they sell a certain common pistol. It is a gun store... they should be used to that kind of question. Also got some odd comments about people who shoot very far with a pistol getting charged with murder. I dont know about other folks, but Ive never been taken to court by the family of a paper target!
Good service. Fair prices. Can even try before you buy if the gun is in their range rental. Good accessories selection, too.
Theyre always wonderful to us at Last Resort. Bryant is exceptional - quite the asset to them. Best range for miles and miles. Worth the visit.
Ed taught our introduction to pistols. He was the perfect balance between very serious safety and encouragement to overcome our fears. Absolutely loved it.
I have to agree that this is a Last Resort. The service is what is expected from a typical gun store. Everyone seems friendly and knowledgeable for the most part. I take issue with two things.1. Their prices are significantly higher than all their local competition (This includes Academy Sports and Larrys Pistol) there is no negotiating the price. Its not just a little higher but sometime $50 - $100 more per piece.2. While the range is well kept it is again literally twice as much for a pass as Larrys range in Huntsville. Hopefully this price will come down once the Madison Larrys finishes their range and LR starts losing some of their range business. Also LR has all sorts of silly rules. For example.. You cant draw from your holster and fire. You cant fire multiple rounds (rapid fire) even a pistol. So dont expect any real world training here, were talking just basic target practice. Also you cant use steel or aluminum cased ammo because the boss doesnt want it to get mixed up with brass most shooters buy cheap ammo to waste which would typically include that cheap steel cased ammo.I just get the feel that Last Resort is mainly in the business of serving only the bottom line and not being competitive or serving their customer bases true need.
Prices are insanely high. I guess they have to make as much money as possible off of every firearm with the way they treat people. They will not honor their advertised prices online in the store. I spent thousands of dollars at this place over the course of a year then one day I go to make yet another purchase and Wayne the manager decided he wanted to take a stand over the $50 discount they advertise on their online store.
Great service on the range for my wife and I as we put rounds through her new Glock 43 and my M&P Shield. The guys were courteous and very professional. We will definitely be back.
Very unfriendly should have just fought the crowd at Larrys had a few things I was going to buy there but guy was just to rude
This is generally a good gun store and range. Sometimes the RSO are a little...aggressive, butting in unasked, but most of the time this is a good place to go shoot. The prices are a bit high on just about everything, but thats pretty normal for a brick and mortar store. Most of the staff are friendly, with a couple of exceptions. Until the range in Florence opens up, this will continue to be my go-to for a place to shoot.
Great facility. Very personable owner and staff. I am always greeted with a friendly smile and warm welcome. Prices are on par with other LGS of size and volume. Yearly memberships and events and opportunities to learn and hone skills with tactical tuesday, USPSA, fun shooting etc. makes it unique. Great place to bring family members!
I was the only person in the store. Staff was not welcoming at all and acted dismissive like it was a chore to help me. I’m a novice in gun IQ, but I’m never treated rudely at Larry’s. I’ll never come back to this store.
Prices and selection are OK. For a shop geared toward training, the employees need to be more careful with muzzle direction when handling the guns behind the counter. I got swept twice by two different employees, and each one had an excuse its unloaded or theres a flag in the action so the bolt cant go forward. Those arent excuses.
Great range that has a friendly helpful staff. The events and classes are the best in town. This is a professionally management range.
Nice place good range over priced on firearms in my opinion.
Best indoor range in the local area, but way overpriced for firearms and ammunition. Pretty much only go here for the range and look elsewhere for actual firearms.
Incredible customer service. Gunsmith was great. Will gladly visit again!
Great gun store. Good prices and polite, helpful store staff. Plus they have a range. One stop shop.
Awesome range and top notch staff. Instructors are excellent and professional, not your typical pawn shop scene
Great place, really enjoy shooting here. I would buy a membership, so much cheaper for the avid shooter, but we are gon 5 months out of the year. Wal-Mart or Larrys is you best bet for fairly priced Ammo.
Great service, clean range. Had a great time shooting after work last Thursday. Will be back!
I love this place. They are great working with women. Made to feel very welcome.
Helpful, polite and knowledgeable staff in the shop and in the range. Great place.
Nice place and friendly staff showed us around and let us go on the range.. I got the wife excited to go shotting..
Some say its pricier than Larrys, but I think it worth it. The range is fresh and the RSOs are very kind and helpful. Im heavily considering a membership to the range
Have used this range a number times over the past couple of years, and found it convenient. Our last trip was ridiculous. It has a fairly compident group of RSOs though sometimes arrogant and rude After 23 years as a Marine Rifleman I know weapons safety and dont need a 20 something telling what Im doing. With that being said I have no problem signing off on rules and waivers. Since our last time they have started a a new computerized system that exceeds what I considered reasonable. Asking my phone number, age, email address and other questions that are NOTFB. I have a gun permit, that should be sufficient. Since there was no option to opt out of these intrusive questions I have opted to no longer use these facilities. There are a number cheaper, adequate ranges available in the area that better fulfill my requirements without the bull s...If you dont mind giving your personal info to another nosy business and who knows who, by all means use them. If your like me find some place else to use.
Not far to travel to by interstate around city and easy to find. Nice, clean store with competitive prices on all merchandise, nice range for pistol and rifle fire..
I wanted to go to the range with the family to shoot all my toys. Granted, this is my second time coming here and I will never spend another dime in that store. First experience was terrible, but i just shrugged it off because I figured they just opened the place and still had things to work out, but boy was I wrong. Theres maybe two people in the entire place of business who knows what theyre actually talking about. The female staff is a HUGE joke! Everything is way over priced including range fees! not to mention I one female told me I could not look at a display handgun because I am 19. But yet I just came home from graduating airborne school and soon to be heading to RASP.... makes a whole lot of sense lol anyway youre better off going to spend your hard earned cash at Larrys or elsewhere.
This range is near my home, offers a good selection of guns and accessories, and I can almost always get a table on the range without waiting.
I’m not sure how anyone at this store actually works as a gun store. My advice is to buy online. The prices aren’t just high, they are down right ridiculous.
Had a blast here. Safe, clean, as well lit range with knowledgeable staff is what you will find here.
Very helpful and knowledgeable sales staff. Will continue to shop here
Wonderful staff. Nice gun range. Good selection of events.
Prices suck, and the employees arent particularly knowledgeable, but the indoor range, location, and locker services are convenient and nice. Owner openly supported Obamas gun control attempts. Avoid if possible.
The staff is very knowledgeable and they have a decent selection, but prices are about the highest in the area.
Limited selection on new hand guns. Stuff was helpful. Did not try the range. Rental wall for funds looked very limited.
Very well managed modern indoor range. Great selection of handguns and rifles with a knowledgable, friendly staff.
Great staff, very knowledgeable, and good selection of guns and targets. A little more expensive, for single day shooting, than the pawn place in town.
Super professional, friendly employees. They came off as more than willing to help and answer questions - they genuinely seemed interested in sharing their hobby.
First time at this shop, great facility, friendly staff. Prices are on the high side, still enjoyed the range.
1. Arrogant no nothing sales staff that sound like they are making it up as they go.2.High prices, especially on range ammo.3.The store owner wants to make it illegal for you to buy or sell a gun privately, just so he can make money as the middle man.Their are too many other gun stores around too waste time or money on these idiots. They truly are The Last Resort.
Great staff, well equipped facility. Gun range is 👍 highly recommend!
Friendly and helpful staff. Good gun selection and best range in town.
DO YOU WANT TO DO BUSINESS WITH A ANTI SECOND AMENDMENT GUN STORE?Boycott these clowns. The owner was on WAFF 48 saying that he wants all private gun sales to go through a FFL dealer. Just so he can charge for doing the background check.DO YOU WANT TO DO BUSINESS WITH A ANTI SECOND AMENDMENT GUN STORE!?!?!?
Awesome staff and the best indoor range Ive ever been to. Check them out!
Excellent customer service and clean well lit firing range.
Its a nice facility and has a nice range, but the staff isnt so nice. The prices makes Cabelas look cheap and the name is very ironic, because its literally the LAST RESORT!
Excellent range, knowledgeable instructor, great place for beinginneers and to bring kids for training.
Nice gun shop. A little pricey and they dont like hand loaded bullets.
I went in looking for a spare magazine for a molot vepr chambered in 7.62x54r I was told I need an ak magazine. When asked if they could order the correct magazine I was told no.
Range is the only thing keeping this place open.... Staff is EXTREMELY rude, Prices are EXTREMELY high, and RSOs barely qualify as morons much less safety officers... DO NOT PURCHASE A FIREARM HERE... if you buy one here you are paying WAY too much
