My wife had a problem with her machine so I took it someplace else first. They looked at it for 10 minutes and told me minimum charge would be $100 for an hour to fix the problems. And possibly it was an issue with the computer or electronics which would be beyond their scope to repair. And the turn around time was 12-15 weeks.I went to the Electric Needle and the tech guy turned it on and had the problem solved in 5 minutes. I decided to leave the machine for a cleaning because clearly these guys know what they are doing.I think I found our new sewing store!

The Electric Needle was recommended to me by a member of my sewing group. I think she undersold them when mentioned the team was wonderful as I had a FANTASTIC experience!They turned a 28 day service turn around time into the opportunity to create a bench call system allowing me to keep stitching as I waited my turn. Additionally, during my visit, the team was willing to take the extra time to send me home with resources and tips to help tackle the next skill I’m hoping to build.I will now look forward to taking my machine to get serviced and it is 100% because of the team at Electric Needle. This place is AMAZING! I am a pretty basic/beginner sewer, I make dog collars, coats, and beds. I stopped in last night for the first time ever to inquire about repair costs to see if it was even worth looking at vs replacing. The staff was so easy going and helpful! Their fabric was gorgeous and we know how that goes.... I brought my machine in tonight shortly before close and in less than 5 minutes they found and fixed my issue and when I asked what I owed they didnt want a dime. They have earned a loyal customer.They could not be more helpful. They offer tons of classes, I only wish I had more time to go to them! Very highly recommended for all levels!

Super timely! Turned in my machine with the warning it could be up to 4 weeks for service and repair. Service was completed in 2.5 weeks and included a detailed write up of findings and what was done to my machine. Great service in the midst of a pandemic!

Took my best friend on a quilting birthday trek up to Wisconsin. We visited the largest quilting store/barn and were very disappointed. Did a few more and thought the 3 hour trek north from the Chicago land area was a bust Then we found the Electric Needle. Not impressive on the outside, but amazing inside. They have it all: fabric, machines, classes, tech ... but especially the people. The two young women who ran the shop and waited on us were engaged, delightful, knowledgeable and just plain fun. According to my birthday friend the fabrics were also the most colorful, electric, and unique she has seen in a long time. This one shop made the 6 hour round trip worth it all. Visit them ... let them wow you like they wowed us.

This is a fantastic shop. The staff are knowledgeable about all things sewing. They are adept at servicing old machines and instructing you in how to use new machines. Very impressive service! They provided a quick, personal assessment of the problem I was having with my sewing machine. They serviced it in less than 48 hours. I also had the machine cleaned, and their turnaround was within two weeks! BEST customer service and turnaround time for cleaning and servicing!

This is an excellent locally owned and owner-operated business. The staff are friendly, approachable, knowledgeable and talented. We stopped in to Electric Needle to see if they could fix our very old sewing machine. Not only were they very excited to see such a machine, but since it was an easy fix, Jen took it right to the back and fixed it while we waited. While we were waiting, we got a chance to look around at all of the beautiful quilts, embroidery and other excellent crafts around the shop - which was great inspiration for making our own projects. They have some high quality sewing machines for sale, as well as walls packed full of sewing patterns and other sewing supplies that I never even realized existed (multi bobbin holder!). It is a great place to go and look around for ideas. They offer classes from basic (hem lab) to more advanced (which I didnt ask about since I am not advanced - but I am sure there are quilting classes). They are in the process of building out into the adjacent storefront to increase their space for classes. We will definitely come back to take a class and stop in for all our sewing needs as they arise.

Staff were friendly, helpful and knowledgeable and alltogether so pleasant I believe this was one of the nicest shops Ive been in ever. Small town service located in a big town. Refreshing! I felt confident leaving my special to me and well loved sewing machine there for repair. I was given a completed by date just 10 days from now, told Id be called if there were any repairs needed above $5, and a staff even walked by, put her hand on my sewing machine and said wow- shes beautiful. I love these old machines.

I will be going back for the second time to pick up my sewing machine. I had taken it in previously to have a part replaced, and it only took them a couple of hours and it felt much better. And since I have an older Singer, the lady who works there recommended I get it cleaned and oiled up so it will run smoother and have a longer life. She also noted that the tension should be checked because my bobbin was causing me pain by looping multiple strands. I cant wait to get back to my projects, the Singer will work so much better now : )

Best shop ever! The staff is so incredibly knowledgeable and so willing to go the extra mile. They have a great selection of fabrics, notions, and best of all Pfaff machines (Husqvarna, too). They are a great resource for servicing machines as well with in house technicians. They offer a variety of classes and one can rent long arm time to finish projects. Cant say enough good about this shop!

My sewing machine wasnt working right after the thread had gotten tangled up in something I was sewing. I took it into the Electric Needle for repair after reading the positive reviews here on Google and found the reviews to be completely right. They fixed it quickly and for much less than I had anticipated. Ill definitely be back if Im ever in need of more repairs.

I am very disappointed in the sales staff. I was looking to purchase a new machine in the range of $1000- $2000. She did not demonstrate any of the products nor offer me the opportunity to try any of the machines. I felt I was treated with disregard because I wasnt looking to buy the more expensive machines. Overall, this a very disappointing experience and I probably wont shop there in the future.

Great service! I am a novice borrowing a friends sewing machine which unfortunately seemed to break while I was using it. The folks at the Electric Needle looked at it, diagnosed my problem, and fixed it. About 15 minutes worth of service and at the end of it she charged nothing! I was amazed. Staff was also very nice and professional. Will definitely be using this store again for supplies and classes, and especially if I decide to invest my own machine.

This place is great, and the owners are very nice. I needed some help fixing a buckle on my baby carrier and I brought it in there to ask them what to do. One of the employees ripped the seam and fixed the buckle for me in 5 minutes (at no charge!!!). While I am just a novice at sewing, the friendly and professional atmosphere at the Electric Needle has inspired me to take one of their introductory classes. Thanks!

Just purchased a beautiful Pfaff Performance 5.0 from here. When I explained my budget, needs and wants they showed me exactly that. They never tried to upsell me or upgrade me. It took me several visits to decide on the perfect machine and they were very low pressure and patient with me while I took my time deciding. They even made sure I understood how every thing worked on the actually machine I bought before I left. Very sweet people to work with. Will go back and recommend to friends.

This was my second trip to this store with a friend and fellow quilter. We rented their computerized longarm quilting machine.The people there are friendly and very patient with our questions and needs.They also have a manual longarm that you can rent time to use.I highly recommend this shop. We already have a third day reserved.

I came in today with an older sewing machine that I hadnt used in years. Everyone was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. They checked out several issues before I decided whether or not it was worthwhile to get it fixed, and spent quite a bit of time with me and the machine. After they determined that it was ok mechanically, I decided to have them clean it for me. I am hoping that in the near future I am able to buy and new machine, and I will certainly buy from their shop. Thank you Electric Needle!!!!

My first visit to The Electric Needle was pleasantly surprising! I took in a serger and a sewing machine for some problems Id been having. The young lady who greeted me immediately set about to see if the serger issue was just a tension/threading issue, which was exactly what she discovered. She then checked my sewing machine and discovered a problem with the bobbin tension. I asked her to keep the sewing machine and have a tune up done on that. She didnt even charge me for the serger. I really appreciate their great attitude and helpfulness. I look forward to returning and browsing their sewing supplies and fabrics.

Great service! I brought my Singer sewing machine to the store with an unknown problem, and within 10 minutes the machine was fixed on the spot...and I wasnt charged for the repair. Very service-oriented folks...will definite go there again!!

I purchased a machine at this store and have received as much time, one on one, with the staff to learn about all of the features of this machine. Their service and knowledge is amazing.

My sewing machine had been acting up (mess of bobbin thread on the bottom) for awhile and it finally got to the point where it had to be dealt with. I looked at google reviews and ended up trying the electric needle since it was the only shop that had good reviews consistently. Turns out it was a really good call. One of the staff members sat down with me immediately and started asking questions to diagnose the problem. They were thoughtful questions, and even though they couldnt reproduce the problem there, he and Jen (the owner) kept looking for a cause. In the end, a tiny part of the bobbin casing was the culprit, and they bent the spring back for me.Then, despite having spent 20 minutes with me trying to fix it, they didnt charge me anything. All in all, it couldnt have been a more pleasant experience.

Probably the best quilting and sewing shop around. This is the only place I go for sewing machine repair and accessories.

I was greeted warmly within seconds of entering. I was given a time estimate of 7-10 days, but my sewing machine was ready overnight.

I took the Sewing Machine 101 and Basic Sewing 101 classes at the Electric Needle and was very happy with their quality. They were only $15 each, which I thought was very reasonable. Katie was the instructor that night and was very knowledgable. There was a woman in the classes who said she had been sewing for years and still learned a lot.The Sewing Machine 101 class was especially good - you bring in your own machine and learn how it works, what all the knobs do, and how to avoid common problems. I learned A TON in both classes and feel much more confident in using my new machine than I would have without the classes. Im looking forward to taking more classes at the Electric Needle.
