This is SUCH a great store! They have a very wide selection. My boyfriend grew up in India and when we come he is always able to find specific treats, snacks, etc. that he grew up having. Their produce is amazing in quality (check out their mangos!). We also always appreciate how friendly and kind the staff are. Highly recommend.

I ran in to buy a cold beverage during my wait for food next door. Found a couple other things, spoke briefly to the friendly and kind proprietor. The store was very clean, and I took note of the wonderful frozen section and gorgeous produce. Nothing I checked was past its expiry date. At check-out, I asked if EBT was accepted, and he sweetly said No, but we hope to accept EBT soon.

They have everything I needed. And very kind and nice people to help us with. Happy to shop here.I will return for more shopping.

Always good experience. Variety of products available. Owners are very friendly and staff is helpful too. Closed on Thursdays, so keep that in mind.

I was looking for some saffron and was suspect of the high-priced brands in the big name grocery stores. I found some Altaj Crown saffron at a really fair price at India House.

Best Indian grocery in Madison. Dont be deceived by the small size, this place is packed with everything you need. It has the best produce and largest selection of spices and frozen foods. The staff are always incredibly friendly.

I am changing my review from 5 star to 3 because of the customer service. It was all good until the owner stopped working there. The Nepali guy is super rude. A bottle of ginger garlic slipped and broke from the cart because of their own broken cart. The guy charged us for that bottle too. We have noticed he charges everyone higher price than it says on the shelf. I used to shop almost every weekend from here, but we stopped because of fluctuating prices and bad customer service. There is also young girl who works there, she rolls her eyes for no reason and very rude. My husband greeted her twice and she rolled her eyes. Clearly it seems like she doesn’t want us there. I feel bad giving three stars because the owner is very nice, but they need to know what’s happening when they are not there.Previous review:They are little far from my home, but we visit them atleast twice a month and spend a lot. Visited this place for the first time after coming to Madison. The Owner is really a good person. Literally he took me for a tour of the store, made me aware of all the varieties they have in there. He also gave me 2 packets of biscuits for free!!Its a good place and they actually got everything we need on day-to-day basis related to Indian groceries.

Much better option than the neighborhood Bombay bazar. The cashier is very friendly and considerable. They even offer you small packs of Cookies if your purchase is above certain amount.

I always go there to buy Indian food. The manager is a great guy and so are the people who work with him. I always am joking with them. He gives me free extra snack each time I buy.

I go here for their ground Indian coffee, which is much better than anything youll ever find in a bigger grocery store. A friend of mine from India introduced me to it, and I was thrilled to find it in large quantities here! The best coffee Ive ever brewed by far! And the store owners sometimes include a little packet of Indian cookies for free, too. They go great with the coffee. Always very friendly service!

The store just caught my eyes from the parking, so I walked into the store to just check what they do have. The guy who was working at the store, I assume that person is the manager??, was very nice and friendly! I have never tired any Indian sweets, but he explained the ingredients, flavor, how to keep them fresh for my flight trip... and he even let me try different flavors of burfi (Sorry if the name is wrong...) and they all tast so good!!! I will absolutely going back there and get these sweets to bring back to my family to try! :)

Very friendly manager who helps you find what you need. Also helps you keep in touch with local Indian festive events. A lesser known service they offer is free delivery for university students. The owner provides free delivery of orders over $25 every Mondays​ exclusively for UW-Madison students who cannot get to the store themselves.

Ive developed a habit of stopping by India House whenever I go to Woodmans--Even if Im all stocked up on Naan, spices, etc., it is still always worth a visit. The owner seems to always be in the store; he is engaging, friendly, and always happy to provide detailed advice. Seriously, if you have any questions about spices, brands, or products you have never seen before, just ask. Also, you are likely to get a little freebie (like a package of English biscuits) as you check out.The last time we were in the store we were lucky enough to meet the owners wife. She noticed us aimlessly browsing and asked if there was anything in particular we were looking for. We got into a very enjoyable wide-ranging conversation where she gave us advice on Indian sprouted dishes, ayurvedic medicine, and other general recommendations. I ended up with a full basket of goods, all of which I have enjoyed.Finally, if the owner notes that there are fresh samosas, I highly recommend you get a couple. Perfectly cooked, with a crispy outside and creamy potato center, and well spiced. They are a real treat.

Good store. Bombay and India House are the main Indian Grocery stores here in Madison. We prefer India house because the uncle at the counter knows stuff - Bombay is good too.

We went to this store during the winter and was late night. Store was closed and the employee of the store was about to leave the store. When I asked him some items for my kids, he didnt hesitate to open the store and ask me to quickly purchase the items. Very nice and humble environment. Truly surprised by the range of indian groceries available. The staff was polite too. Youll find everything that belongs to a traditional Indian kitchen in this store, along with a wide variety of read-to-eats.

The best indian stores with the best prices in Madison. I live on far east side closer to sun praire and used to visit the Indian grocery stores on east side. Once I happened to visit this place and was shocked to find the price difference between this place and other stores in Madison. They also have the best collection of items.

Indian grocery just like any other in the US, very conveniently located on the west side of the city. Cramped up, but nice and courteous owners who are more than willing to go that extra mile to help you find what you need.

Its proximity to Woodmans is a big plus for an otherwise mediocre Indian grocery shop. The owner greets with cheer and enthusiasm, occasionally offering free goodies at the time of billing. I wish the other working staff was so well-behaved.
