Delicious! Highly recommended. We have never had rolled ice cream and it was fantastic! There was a live demonstration of how they make it. The service is friendly and I appreciated the cashier was very contentious of my daughter who mentioned she had a peanut allergy. He told her what to order that would be safe for her. This was one of my highlights of visiting lynchburg.

2021: same friendly service and large selection of flavors, sizes, and prices. Bacon Bacon with vanilla ice cream and caramel—out of this world! Salty bacon bits in every creamy spoonful. The regular size was enough to share. Of course I didn’t!2020: MayLynn’s Downtown Creamery delivered! Not literally, of course (imagine that). Two kids and their doting grandmother enjoyed huge soft serve dipped cones after biking Blackwater Trail on a hot October day. Ice cream for lunch! Best day ever! We were thankful for outdoor seating when a large group of boys and their moms came in all at once—a couple of them without masks. Why? Pleasant servers provided cups for our cones or we might have lost our tall tasty treats.

There was a pretty long line BUT it was worth it. They have so many options. Even though they were super busy, the staff and service were great.

Staff was friendly and inviting, parking is difficult due to the city setting.Ice cream was good but not anything so special you couldn’t find it any place else. Would go again but would not go out of my way to visit.

Best Cookies n’ Cream ice cream I have ever had. Can’t go wrong with a Shaker or Mixer either. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality, friendly service when we came in right before closing. Definitely would recommend this creamery! They will exceed your expectations.

I have been wanting to try rolled Ice Cream for the longest time and let me just say, MayLynns set the bar high for me first time! I got the Cookie Monster. I highly recommend it! The atmosphere was nice, as well as the staff and the prices were reasonable. We sat outside and there was a band playing across the street so, we had some live music with our ice cream. We will definitely be back!

Little hole-in-the-wall ice cream shop with a great selection. Was hard to choose. People were friendly and worked quickly. It was very busy, reasonable prices. We ended up with a stacker, kind of like a banana split, and it was delicious!

So busy! Was it worth it? Absolutely! We waited in a line with about ten people ahead of us but it moved quickly and everyone was able to place their order within ten minutes of my arrival. The ice cream however made it obvious why a steady line of customers is always visible from the road side. The ice cream is rolled in front of you and it is amazing the banana pudding rolled ice cream is my new addiction. The lovely staff even replaced my daughters mini cone for no charge after she dropped it seconds after getting it. I cannot recommend a walk down Jefferson St without some rolled cream in hand.

Wonderful place to grab a cone and a nice location for a family to have a walk. We also met the owner and he was a gentleman and a scholar. It was a really hot day and he helped us find a nice place to swim on the river after ice-cream.

Cute, cozy little ice creamery with a great menu. So many options! They had non dairy options, rolled ice cream, ice cream cookies, cake pops, sundaes, shakes, stackers, all types of cone options, lots of variety! Great prices, fast service, clean area and upbeat service. It was fun little place! I had the cheesecake stacker and it was great! Lots of cheesecake bites in my cup. Ice cream was smooth and fresh tasting, not overly frozen, not freezer burnt. My sister had a brownie stacker(I think). I will be back to enjoy more of their options!

Maylynn’s Creamery has a great atmosphere with well-priced ice cream. I got the flat-top size which was plenty for me. Mint-chip was rich and creamy. Definitely will be coming back.

Best damn rolled ice cream I ever had.

Only one person is wearing a mask and she was doing great. But I watched 4 other people who were not wearing masks eat a snack and then immediately go dig into the ice cream without wearing gloves or washing their hands. Gross!! Other times I have eaten there. The ice cream is good though.

No photos. Stopped in cause who can pass up ice cream? Not me. Got Peanut Butter Bliss with vanilla. Young lady recommended. I shared with wife, but that was love. I could have eaten all by myself. Hope to get back soon on sunnier day.

Great tasting ice cream! I love the menu options. Its a variety but not overwhelming. The ice cream is homemade which is a plus. For the price point you get a good serving! Worth it for sure!

The atmosphere was nice, the staff was friendly and the ice cream was great. The rolled ice cream is a little pricey, but its very cool. They have our 1.5 year old a free baby cone and they give pregnant women free cones every Wednesday. A fun, casual place to grab some ice cream.

I grew up working on a creamery on a farm for 10 years which had the best ice cream Ive ever had and eventually making ice cream myself for them, so I know good ice cream. This spot is the best in Lynchburg by far. Honestly, its better than any ice cream spots we have in Virginia Beach! If you look at the reviews the only 1* are karens complaining about Masks, literally nothing negative has ever been said about their ice cream. Why? Because their ice cream is perfectly fantastic. Very Very kind people, the friendliest atmosphere Ive experienced in Lynchburg so far, love their Christian music and 90s throwback selection. I recommend the mixr as its a unique offering to this establishment. 5* all around.

Weve stopped in this location quite a few times over the past couple of years, and each time its well worth it. Delicious desserts with fast and more importantly, Friendly and welcoming service from the staff (same goes for their spot in Boonesboro too).CHEERS!

From out of town visiting a couple of my kids and just happened by this place. The ice cream choices were many and hard to pick from as they sounded so good. The family group tried a variety of choices and all were awesome. Friendly and helpful employees. One of my daughters has celiac and currently dairy free as well and they had choices that she was able to eat. That is awesome. Will definitely come here again when we visit again.

The guy putting scoops in my waffle cone wasn’t wearing gloves. Just his dirty hands on my cone. He also broke the cone when adding the scoops. I asked him to wear gloves and he replied ‘Why, it’s not that cold.’Never again. I took the cone out and threw it in the trash.

When we walked by, I was super excited to go in and grab some ice cream, but as I looked through the window there were probably ten people packed inside the small venue, and no one in this establishment was wearing a mask, EVEN THE MAN SERVING ICE CREAM. He didnt even have a mask around his chin or anything. Like seriously... come on. I’m sure the ice cream is good like everyone says but if you care about COVID-19 safety at all, just skip this place.

Great ice cream place downtown. Huge selection, pretty much anything youd want. A little more expensive than other local ice cream places but this is because they havent compromised on quality

I rarely get ice cream. Dont get me wrong: I like ice cream. But my metabolism isnt what it once was. I made an exception here, and Im glad I did - the hand-dipped ice cream was a good consistency (neither rock hard nor runny) and the waffle cone had a hint of flavour that made it quite delectable.

This place is such a Lynchburg classic! The doughwiches are THE way to go— and no one serves them up better than Kelly. She has such a fun personality and was the cherry on top to our trip there!!

What a friendly place! Not only the ice cream is amazing but the young people working there are super welcoming! Even with marks on you can tell they had a smile on! Definitely coming back next time we are in town!

While the ice cream was good, the cleanliness of the employees was not so great. The girl that was making and putting together the ice cream was wearing gloves but then bringing the ice cream out while opening the front door with her hands then going back in and continuing to make food (without changing gloves). So unsanitary and defeats the whole purpose of wearing gloves.

Good handmade ice cream rolled up for added flair. Plenty of menu options to choose from. Store front downtown or truck in Boonsboro.🍨

We love stopping here when our family rides the Blackwater Creek trail. The rolled ice cream is a unique take on a favorite, and there are tons of other options as well.

I cannot say enough great things about this place. The owner Josh is one of the best business owners I have ever encountered in my life. He makes you feel truly welcomed along with world class service and amazingly delicious ice cream. You legitimately cannot go wrong with anything you order here.... personal preference is the sluggwich with coconut ice cream rolled in Oreo, or the Cookie Monster Rolled ice cream. They truly take pride in what they do and it clearly shows.

Had dessert here on a Friday night, around 9:30. The place was still popping and we had to wait about 15 minutes for a rolled ice cream. The staff was super polite in apologizing about the wait on our order (they were busy, of course there was a wait!), and we enjoyed watching the process for the rolled ice cream. Ours was tasty and a safe choice (Cookie, but subbed in chocolate base). I wish we would’ve gotten the Camper because the marshmallow on it looked SO yummy.

I consider myself kind of an ice cream connoisseur, and I have to say this is the best ice cream experience I’ve ever had. First of all, the start up story of this young couple adds lots of charm, but the ingredients and how they make the rolled ice cream just takes it to another level! This place is a “must visit” in Lynchburg! I’ll make sure this is a stop for our family on every visit!

I love the attention to detail at this place! They coat the inside of the cones with chocolate so they dont leak. They do rolled ice cream with some fairly unique combinations. The piece de resistance is they will put bacon on almost anything!!!!

This little shop is a great find! We just happened upon it and had no idea what a jewel we had found.They have an *extensive* menu. The classics like shakes, cones, and soft serve compliment an array of trendy items like edible cookie dough, rolled ice cream, and bubble cones. Whether youre looking for an Instagram snap or a nostalgic old-fashion cone, this is the place to go!They employees are beyond great too. I had such a hard time deciding because they had so many cool options, but they were cheery, friendly and patient the whole time.Ive though they have a crazy amount of options, ironically, my only complaint was that they had a limited selection of flavors (and the one chocolate they had was not my style), but I still had no problem finding a perfect and delicious icecream that made my heart happy.

This is such a fun location, it feels like youve happened upon a little treasure when you go here. The environment is unique since its an old building that has been restored, and the ice cream options offered are competitive with Cold Stone but priced better. I prefer giving my business to local shops OnStar of big franchises, so I would definitely recommend this place.The only thing that would make me personally happier would be if there was more than 2 dairy free options. There was strawberry and pineapple dairy-free soft serve, but I would have really loved a regular creamy ice cream options that was DF.Definitely worth the visit!
