Its a great place. Really quiet and nice for grown ups to play on their various devives but they took out the childs nook that used to be in the bean tree cafe and they use it for storage. I think that was a mistake and they lose one star for it. Other than that, its your standard coffee house with good service, games, books to read and places to plug in for screen time fun lol.
I really liked it! The place was so bright and and clean and quiet--within reason. I mean, I know they have to grind the means and the ice, but other than that its very tranquil. There was no loud and obnoxious music I had to talk over, and it was just an overall nice atmosphere to be in. Its a nice happy place! 😊
Stopped here for a quick coffee date with family. I had a lavender coffee and it was DELISH. We waited 10 minutes for each of our orders (45 min before we all had our drinks.) Plenty of seating. Large windows. Plenty of parking.
I had the Campfire and egg + bacon on ciabotta sandwich. SO good. I dont want to leave! And my barista was sweet and welcoming. Great service, taste, presentation, and clean/ spaced out place. Thanks guys!
Excellent food and drinks. Love the atmosphere!
Great location, large facilities include significant outside seating. Reasonable prices, good coffee and assorted drinks. There sweet treats like ice cream are very good.
Always a very friendly and helpful team of people. The coffee is prettyyyyyy great and theres always a lot of options in flavors to choose from 😊
Gluten free options available
This coffee shop has the best Rooibos Vanilla Tea and tomato soup with grilled cheese! They sell local honey, t-shirts, beans, and local art as well. I’m always loving the change up of the seasonal menu too. Gives you something to look forward to!
I really thought I would enjoy becoming a regular at this place but unfortunately NOT. After a few visits I noticed the wifi getting slower, the sugar cookies are too thick and scone like 🤢, and the chocolate chip were too rich and stomach turning and to top it off the soda machine that I purchased my drinks from all of a sudden disappeared. I really felt like I wasnt wanted there and I wouldnt recommend this place if they were giving away FREE MEALS.
Good coffee in a nice setting with super friendly staff
Exceptional service all the time! Good food and coffee and nice space. Just a little overpriced but also kinda worth it at the same time. Bean Tree > Starbucks any day!
Loved the experience! Sweet atmosphere & perfect place to study or read.
Delicious coffee! One of my favorite places, hands down. They offer yummy desserts and gluten-free options as well.
As a woman of color I have never felt more uncomfortable or diminished in attempting to get a cup of coffee. My husband (who is not black) comes in at least 2-3 times/week to get the exact same order. Today, when I placed my order... they “weren’t able to make it that way” and I was up charged. I have several receipts of the EXACT order From this week costing differently for my husband. A manager was called out while I was ordering in an attempt to intimidate me. I paid and got my order but I will never be back. How shameful.
Really cute place with great coffee!
Awesome food and coffee. The gluten-free was excellent
Courteous and efficient service, Individually wrapped baked goods, esp the scones, were great.
Stopped by here after dinner at Iron and Ale. Even on a cold night it was a short walk with what turned out to be great coffee at the end. I was was greeted and helped quickly. I liked how the menu had options for drinks but not a coffee menu that seems to try to cram the entire French and Italian vocabulary on it. I got a mocha and sat at the counter area to wait. While waiting for my coffee I got a good look at the interior. Bright and vibrant, a welcome change from college coffee houses that try to always follow the dim and sedated ambience. My mocha was great, not overly sugary, the chocolate not overwhelming the coffee. It was my dessert and it was excellent. I loved the blurb on the coffee sleeve better coffee for less bucks that ensured I followed them on Instagram. I asked the young woman who made my drink if they sold beans and they had two selections. I took the lighter roast Ethiopian. I have a tradition where I buy beans from any coffee shop I love when traveling. I wish I had gotten a receipt mailed to me from their square machine when paying so I could compliment them by name, because to the two ladies working the evening shift on 12/12, you were both excellent.
This is the cutest little coffee house I have ever visited! Amazing inviting staff. Adorable children place area. Very good choice of coffee, treats and the seating set up is very inviting. It feel like you want linger a little longer.. I’ll be back to visit soon.
I love their hazelnut Frappuccino!!! It is so good, just the right amount of sweetness (better than Starbucks) 😋
Great atmosphere, laid back, not too loud. Breakfast sandwich was really good and coffee is on point. Will def be back.
Great cappuccinos! The desserts were delicious too. Service was very friendly. Hip Cafe atmosphere. Only thing I dont understand is why they ask if its to go or not because both my dine in times I was given a disposable cup.
What a find! This cafe has indoor and outdoor seating off-street parking and parking lot area. It has a sweet walled play area for toddlers. Clean with nice bathrooms. I believe all coffee places should have multiple stalled bathroom facilities. Just saying. The staff were informative, friendly and acted like they enjoyed serving.
Please bring back your ice cream!! Your chocolate milkshakes with a shock-your-heart-helping of espresso are ahhhmazing!
The main location is big with plenty of seating! The drinks are good! Only complaint is they are very sweet. I get drinks, like lattes, half sweetened. There is a small play area for kids too! Also, they have a few lunch items + delicious cheesecake!
I’ve been here several times before posting a review. The overall atmosphere is very nice, employees are knowledgeable and polite, but their coffee is among the worst coffee I’ve ever had. It reminds me of gas station coffee, definitely not a quality coffee shop coffee. I’m sure students love it for the location but I would recommend one of the other lovely coffee shops in our area. My favorite is the Muse as they have the best drip coffee in town or White Hart. Two stars are for the atmosphere and employees not the coffee.
Nice atmosphere but I did not get anything!
Beverages and ice cream is always Excellent. My favorite way to spend a summer evening is grabbing some ice cream from here and walking around cornerstone!
Great food and teas. We love supporting local establishments. Would definitely recommend!
As an individual that works from her computer. I like to mix it up from the usual work at home environment so I often look for places that are cozy, comfortable and not to loud and crowded (all the time). This is just that. Its really clean, peaceful, and a great place to work/study and enjoy a coffee and/or refreshment. And the people are really nice and helpful.I really havent had the food because I normally just get a specialty coffee and a bagel. But it looks and smells good. I try to get unusual house specialty drinks and so far, everyone Ive tried is pretty good so I encourage you to step out your box and try the funny drinks.Ill update when I try some of the food.
Delicious lavander lemonade!
Our coffee drinks were wonderful. Its clean and spacious. The barista was awesome.
Good coffee but a little crowded with people without masks. Get the coffee and go.
An amazing atmosphere and great baristas
Making the best chai lattes I’ve ever had. Get them Everytime I come here and never disappoint. Staff is super kinda and welcoming. Clean and comfortable. Also have a kids area which is great even though I don’t have kids. Love it!!!!
I have been coming to Bean Tree Cafe since the cafe first opened up, for many years. But the last 6 months of coming, the service has been extra slow and weve been dissapointed to see girls struggling to make the coffees and the food at the same time. We dont know if this is how the owners staff the cafe, or if they are shorthanded so weve just let it slide and kept coming. But today was the final straw and we will not be coming back to the cafe. We waited around 20 minutes to get a mocha and a cup of coffee, while we watched the barista (McKayla) text on her phone, chit chat with her friends sitting at the bar, and hand out several coffee drinks to people that had ordered after us. We didnt even get an apology for the wait or any eye contact. Not to mention the baristas mask was off hanging on her ear and her long hair wasnt even tied back and it appeared that she was running in the kitchen making food as well. This was some of the worst service Ive ever experienced and next time we will be taking our business to Third Wave Coffee instead.
Had a blt sandwich and a white mocha after dropping off art for exhibiting. It was a nice portion and wait time was fine!
Bean tree has fantastic coffee and espresso. We went here looking for a trivia night my brother loves frequenting but they didnt do it this particular night. They did have a musician playing though who was very good. Pretty fair prices and great drinks. Recommended.
Great prices in comparison to other coffee shops. Plenty of seating. I had a hot dirty chai, and I would definitely get it again.
Good variety of coffee, teas and assorted drinks...
Excellent flavored drinks such as lattes and milkshakes, but their coffee selection isnt as expansive as others in the area.
This is a great coffee shop! Its a little more modern, but not corporate. Aesthetically pleasing woodwork around the counter and walls. Anyways, its very clean and spacious. Plenty of seating, places to plug your laptop in, and fast WiFi. I ordered a London Fog. Its fantastic. Pricing is more than fair. 5 stars. Would recommend.
I greatly enjoy this place. They even have a little play area for kids to hang out while you do your work and drink coffee. They also sell local honey!
Great coffee and I can see myself coming back here often to study and spend quality time with friends. There is a shelf full of board games for people to play.
I really like Bean Tree Cafe! They have ample seating, and get you your coffee quickly. However, the menu items can take a while to get, thus the 4 star rating. The decor is bright and open. The acoustics give an echo that actually helps isolate your conversation vs everyone else; so you dont have the issue of the table beside you hearing every word you say, like you do in a smaller coffee shop.
Blesssss this place is great. Came across it while in Lynchburg, and it’s very good - from the coffee to the food. I highly recommend and will always stop by when I’m in the area.
Great ice cream but even better service!!!
Its a place where some of my business contacts like to meet. I find the menu is limited and unremarkable, and it seems to serve as a moms outing place bc of the indoor play area. For that reason, it can be a bit noisy for my purposes but certainly a great plus for stay at home moms/dads who long for adult conversation.
Great coffee place with tables and couches. Large enough to gather some friends, but small enough to feel cozy. Add delicious desserts to the list and you have yourself a delightful gem of a coffee shop.
Nice location, but don’t come here unless you’re willing to wait 45 minuets for your coffee. Watched food get made quicker than my drinks. Would not recommend and Will not be coming back.
Great atmosphere, great coffee, good food too! Also they serve Homested Creamery Ice Cream which is awesome! Also have a nice play area for kids.
This a spacious, clean coffee shop with a lot of natural light and a productive, fun vibe. Their coffee has been great for the multiple years Ive been coming here and their special drinks for a given holiday or month are tasty and imaginative. They also have merchandise available, some of which is local. Definitely recommend.
Favorite coffee shop in town. In addition to coffee products, they also have hot food, ice cream, bakery items, and a lot of different concoctions of sodas & sweet drinks. They host trivia every Tuesday evening, which is always fun. I also love that they have a kids space, so that parents can talk while letting their kids play safely - and they do weekly story time too!
Good coffee and food, reasonably priced. Best chicken salad in town! The Internet connection for us work on the laptop coffee shop guys is the fastest I have seen (and tested) around. The staff is great!
Always love getting the lavender lemonade!
Great atmosphere, cute kids play area! Bigger than most coffee shops in town. Really good hand dipped ice cream!
This seems like an average coffee shop mostly propped up by proximity to college housing. The coffee is fine, but Ive never been overwhelmed, especially by their basic house coffee. Its fine, but nothing spectacular and unless you live close, there are other coffee shops in the area that offer better selection and better coffee.
Excellent service. Excellent atmosphere. Cool selection of drinks and desserts. Ice cream is awful, very gummy.
This is one of my favorite coffeehouses in Lynchburg! They have a great hangout space, delicious coffee and food, and a great selection of treats.
Nice atmosphere, I was able to sit near an outlet so i could catch up on school work. The barista was so nice
Great atmosphere, friendly people, but more importantly... great coffee. Had my first latte there yesterday and it was excellent. This Gold Card Starbucks guy is making the switch! I like it so much I bought the company. No, really. I did!
Nice spot for coffee, smoothies, and sandwiches. Spacious and airy, with WiFi for the college students hanging out here.
Most delightful coffee! Great service! Charming atmosphere! We will come again!
This is a great hang out for a delicious cup of joe and breakfast. Today I got a hot coffee, when i usually get something iced. It was barely lukewarm when I got it, so I was a little disappointed. It still had great flavor though. I highly recommend their breakfast sandwiches!
Best coffee shop in the Lynchburg area. Very clean, very friendly and professional staff. Support your local businesses.
Great staff, great beverage, available seating, clean, clean restrooms. It was a bit hard to find, but I eventually found it. I would definitely go back.
Loved this place. Need to make it more of a habit to talk more photos. Ordered a breakfast sandwich: asiago bagel, sausage, cheddar, and egg. Normally a fan of american cheese but the cheddar was perfect compliment. Sandwich was phenomenal. A plus was that the sandwich was put together perfectly as well. And the sandwich was put into a to-go container versus the typical foil wrap that just melts your cheese onto the foil. Couldnt be happier.
This was my second time visiting and it was great both times. The menu has a ton of unique options and the coffee is delicious. It is so much better than Starbucks.
Just got black coffee (dark and stormy roast) very good! Love the big open atmosphere. Its just a little pricey and not on my side of town. Otherwise I would stop here on a regular basis.
Great atmosphere. Good coffee. Amazing chicken salad. 👍
The croissant wasnt the best Ive ever had but still very good. I got the cold brew float, very creative and something Ive never had before. I would highly suggest stopping by it was a great experience and a very good atmosphere.
Loved this place. Staff was wonderful and friendly, food was great and the coffee hot the spot! Atmosphere ands cleanliness was a plus. Ill definitely return next time Im in Lynchburg!
Took 20 mins to get 2 frappuccinos. We asked for no coffee in our drinks, they didnt even listen. My mom got hers first and it had coffee in it. If they would have listened they wouldnt have to waste products. The more waste the more cost.
Coffee was good, but they didnt have sugar! How can they not have sugar? And their wooden stir sticks were too short for my large coffee.
Ive been trying to drink coffee from all the coffee shops in Lynchburg that come with high ratings. Which is several. I stopped by Bean Tree the other day and loved it! My favorite for sure! The staff was super friendly and my coffee was amazing! Will definitely be back soon!
One of my favorite coffee shops in Lynchburg. Love to go and hang out on a computer, read a book, or just talk with friends.
Expensive but good. The customer service is great. No complaints at all I just couldnt ever make this a regular place for me because of the price. Probably a bit more expensive than Starbucks believe it or not.
Bean Tree Cafe used to be one of my favorite coffee shops in Lynchburg. As a student at Liberty, coffee shops are a great place for off-campus (and even on campus) students to study. Unfortunately, Bean Trees decision to have Bean Tots in their shop has forced myself, as well as others, to find a new coffee shop to study at. Its frustrating that a coffee shop, in a city that the majority is college students, thought it would be a good idea to add a kids corner. Almost every morning that I would visit, it would be nearly impossible to study with the sounds of kids screaming and dumping toys everywhere. I hope that Bean Tree acknowledges that this is an issue, and that they are losing their loyal customers from when they first opened because of it.
I love that Bean Tree not only has fabulous specialty coffee choices, but also has plenty of choices for food. The croissant breakfast sandwich is my favorite! They also have an art wall featuring local artists, which I think is essential to every good coffee shop.
What a wonderful atmosphere, great service, and the best frappe Ive ever had! The mint chocolate cheesecake was honestly the best cheesecake Ive ever had two made by their in-house chef. Im telling you this place is going to go far in Lynchburg! Its got my vote for best coffee shop for sure
Good food and service but they don’t recycle ;(
Good coffee. The darker roast is hot! My wife lives the VA cold brew. Wi-Fi, play area for the kiddos(with table top on the play area wall w/high chairs). Friendly staff, plenty of seating.
Good quality and atmosphere. Getting pricier. Catering to college kids who might not care as much about price as locals
Great shop. Friendly staff. Drinks are pretty good. Havent had the food yet. Only complaint is when too many people want to be there at the same time I do. 😉
This is an awesome local coffee shop! The coffee is excellent, the spacious interior is always clean. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. They serve a great lunch.
Fantastic gluten free options here! From delectable crumb cake and muffins for breakfast to flavorful sandwiches for lunch, Bean Tree has far and away the most extensive gluten free friendly options. Also- the staff is always inviting and helpful!
Terrible service. We ordered ice cream. Only ice cream, and it took 15-20 minutes to get our order (at least three employees were behind the counter, and they were not busy). The guy who took our order keyed it in wrong, so two of the 6 cones we ordered were wrong, and more would have been wrong if the guy making them hadn’t asked what our order had been since there were keyed improperly. There were no apologies or anything done to correct the wrong orders. I have no idea why people think so highly of this place. We certainly will not be going back, and I highly recommend finding somewhere else to partake in scooped ice cream, even if it means a 20 minute drive to Boonsboro for Mister Goodies.
Great atmosphere and their pumpkin drinks are so much better than the competition! Pumpkin Pie Latte is the best!
Good coffee, nice vibes, and always good customer service. Gives it a college feel. I like the new building as it is more spacious than the former.
Delicious food and coffee. Love the kids play area.
Great coffee, tea, and sandwiches, but can often be crowded during the school semester due to all the local colleges
Food and drink and decent but the service is terrible and the staff are generally incompetent and unmotivated.
It was a Sunday morning and the tables were full. But the line was to the door and they only had one person making drinks. Another helped off and on, but didn’t look like she could work effectively. 2 coffees, one aero press, one cold brew on tap and we waited ~20 min. It ended up tasting meh :/
