Just listen to all the 1 star reviews and say “no” to this place. It’s an absolute scam.Made an appointment at 12pm to look at bridesmaid dresses, but upon arriving around 11:45 we were told by the owner (the same one we scheduled the appointment with) that we were too early and had to wait for the bridal party before us to finish. So by the time 12:45 rolled around and we were still waiting, he finally let us look around to see the dresses even though the bridal party was still there trying on dresses. We picked out a couple that we liked and the ones in the showroom were 1 size smaller than what we were. After telling him which ones we liked, we were told we weren’t allowed to try on the dresses because we were too big........seriously? I could see 2-3 sizes too big, but we were only 1 size bigger.Whatever, we needed to get dresses ordered so we went ahead and got all of us measured, picked out colors, paid extra for them to be rush made and paid extra for them to be made to our size (we’re not talking size 20s here, just 16s and 18s)We’re then assured that they would be ready on time. All in all about a $200 down-payment.Then we waitedAnd waitedAnd waitedAnd called and called and calledNo answer, no call back, no voicemail, no contact whatsoever. Two weeks before the wedding we ended up having to order online because it was cutting it too close, and I’m glad we did because the wedding is in two days as I write this and we still have heard NOTHING from him. Mind you, we ordered these dresses almost two months ago.THIS PLACE IS TRASH TRASH TRASH TRASH TRASHDONT WASTE YOUR MONEY
Employees did not even have masks on whatsoever! They also didn’t even try to keep any social distancing. I found myself constantly moving away from them to try to keep space between us. Employee that was helping us was basically harping on what he recommends for a wedding and that what we were doing wasn’t going to look good. I felt like I was on a car sales lot and he was trying to oversell us on absolutely everything. He didn’t stop talking the entire time. He would look at dresses and tell her it wouldn’t work and that she couldn’t try them on. They have barely any sizes above 8. So if you’re above an 8, don’t worry about even going here. Even if you are within the few sizes they carry, I would highly recommend not coming here. Extremely overpriced for cheap quality dresses. David’s bridal has more class than this place.
What a great place. They closed so check out Dayspring Bridal on Wards Road. They have a great selection with fantastic prices.
If I could write a review and give no stars I would. Sorry I hadn’t read the reviews before giving this swindler my “deposit”. What a joke!! Took our money made sure we signed so we had no recourse charged extra to “guarantee” they arrived in time. Then no word!! Had to find dresses on line short notice and out $200 to this joker!! Should never have trusted him!! We weren’t even aloud to try dresses on. Go elsewhere you won’t regret it!!!
Awful service. The clothing seems to be noticeably cheap for the price, and it was quite obvious that they were trying to upsell me on something else rather than just listening to what I wanted. Kept suggesting mire expensive options that honestly didn’t even look better than what I wanted. Gave me the feeling they don’t actually care about their customers or your satisfaction and only want to take your money. It’s a shame I have to give them one star, I’d leave none if I could.
BAD SERVICE! I came in the other day and they were super unhelpful. They seemed too preoccupied with other stuff that was going on, like just having regular conversation (not even helping) other people in the store as well as whatever they were doing on their phones. I do not recommend coming here. It’s expensive as it is, but even if somewhere else cost more it would still be worth it to get some decent help.
This place is absolutely amazing! Susan and Sandy are the sweetest people!! I bought my wedding dress here and had it altered by Sandy. Everything was perfect! I loved it all so much that I had them make my veil, garters, and even added removable straps to my dress for the reception! It was all done beautifully!
I love my wedding dress. We walked in on a week day and were able to have an appointment right away. Susan, was very sweet and pleasant. She allowed me to try on dresses until I found the one. I think they have a good selection of styles. Also Sandy the Seamstress is the best. She is doing a great job of altering my dress to fit me perfectly :)
Smelled like mildew, refused to let me and friends look at dresses, told us to go to Catherine’s bc they had 80% of their prom dresses there and then owner was at Catherine’s and said we were not allowed to try on dresses and had very small amount
Paid for my dress in May! Havent heard from nobody and they wont return my calls. I had to cancel plans because its September and I dont have my wedding dress!!!!!
Susan is amazing! She is super sweet and so helpful and so polite! I love coming in to put payments on my dress and seeing her! She is fun to be around and very helpful. I love to be able to put layaways on dresses, the dresses here are more beautiful than any store I have ever been to, the service is wonderful and the displays are beautiful. The sales also are amazing and unbeatable
Employees were very impatient and not very welcoming.I felt quite rushed and pressured during my dress try on.The shop does not smell very good either.Beautiful dresses but Im sure there are better options for service elsewhere.
We stumbled upon this store. Had a terrific experience. I was looking for a Mother-of-bride dress. Susan was very attentive and kind. I am not a size 2 and have been made to feel very conscientious at other stores, small and chain stores. If you want a nice dress at a reasonable price I would definitely recommend this place.Thank you Susan for helping me to find the right dress♥️🎈
We got my daughters wedding dress there and Susan was so sweet and amazing I was sadden to see all the negative reviews. Her dress was very stunning!i agree the place could use some up dating.
I went to Absolute Bridal today looking for a wedding dress for my wedding in a little over a month. With little time left before my wedding, I was worried about finding a dress in such a short amount of time. I did not have an appointment, however, I was helped immediately after walking through the door. I was not exactly sure what I wanted, but the sales lady was so helpful. She picked out a dress for me, and it was the most perfect dress for a great price. I had a very pleasant experience shopping for my wedding dress here.
Just found my dream wedding dress & I am SO happy! Susan was very helpful & personal. I highly recommend this bridal shop over any shops in Lynchburg. Susan is the best! Thank you for helping me find the most beautiful dress for my special day.
My daughter and I were exploring downtown Lynchburg and spotted this store. We decided to go in and look around because her first formal event is coming up! This was a less than positive experience. The only good thing was a college age sales girl who tried to be kind and thoughtful. She did follow us around and make suggestions but wasnt pushy. Then another lady came in and took over. She made us feel like we were a bother. We ignored her and continued to look around. She stressed a couple of times how they do appointments. No way that I would go back in that store after being treated that way. Customer service people. After receiving so many negative reviews maybe they should reevaluate the way they do business. Just my opinion.
Prices were outrageous for the poor quality. The lighting was very dim and the store smelled like old incense sticks or something. There was no music on or anything that would help make the place more friendly. Staff was friendly enough but very hover-y and too politely pushy - the female worker went into the dressing room with my mom to help her change into a dress (it wasnt even a complicated evening gown - just a dress with a normal zipper) without even announcing that she was going to do so or us requesting her help. Ugh. We walked in and were watched so mistrustfully - that we basically walked right back out. It was a horrible experience.
RUN AWAY!My friend is getting married next year and I am her bridesmaid. She booked an appointment with Absolute about a week (more like 2 I think) before hand, so you would assume everything went well. No.First, lets start with the building itself. It was dark, dirty, and had a STRONG odor.Second, the lady who was working was rude. She rushed the bride to try on the next dress very quickly. Which brings me to my next point.Third, she only had two, I repeat, two dresses from my friend to try on.I would never go to this place, ever, for any reason. If the building and the customer service doesnt run you off the prices will. I also really disliked the no photos policy. I have been to many different bridal shops and every single one I have gone to has let me take photos of my friend for future reference, and while I understand their reason (as dumb as I find it) I also find it rude.If you need a wedding dress I recommend Ashleys Bridal. They are friendly, CLEAN, and well priced,
Back in February, I came here to look for my senior prom dress after visiting Celebration Bridal ( I prefer Celebration, but the prices were too expensive for my $450 budget), and I had an interesting visit. I dont exactly know what decor they are trying to pull off, but it sketched me out and reminded me of one of those shops you would find on the boardwalk of Virginia or Myrtle Beach. As soon as I walked in, I immediately felt pressured to make a purchase there; for the lady kept repeating you ARE going to find your dress, you do not have enough time! It was February, my prom is in May. I dont think three months was cutting it short? She also kept telling me I took the drive from Roanoke to Lynchburg, so it would be such a waste to head back home empty handed. She did not really listen to what I wanted, and was pulling dresses she liked instead of what I liked. She told me not to be so narrow minded when it came to a certain color, which I thought was kind of rude. However, I did find the dress of my dreams, and it was listed at $500, with 25% off.I could not take it home that day, which I did not understand because I paid in full. I waited two weeks until I could pick it up.When I took the dress to my seamstress, she asked where I got it, because some things were sketchy. One side was six inches longer than the other. I am only 411, and the dresses were made for someone who is 510, so I didnt really realize one side was so much longer.I do not think I will be going back for any more formal dresses; although I found the dress of my dreams, I am very skeptical of where they get their dresses and the customer service.
I walked in completely clueless. Im far from girly, and avoid dresses as much as possible. I walked in with my future mother in law, we actually talked with a few of the reps. I made appointment the following day (today) and am in awe. I actually didnt pick any of the dresses I tried on, although several were exactly my taste and what I described I would pick. Well, I actually found my dress today, and it was not anything I would have picked. Val and Susan actually had picked these... and man they did a fantastic job! I loved the whole experience. I wasnt overwhelmed, didnt feel any extreme pressure... and they listened very well to what I had wanted. Will be working on my layaway for my dress asap :)
Cant even search on the website because the domain expired 🙄
Should have listened to the reviews and never step foot in this store!Took my daughter in a week or two ago for homecoming shopping and we were literally stalked as we walked through the store, we could not look without the sales lady following us.Then we actually found a couple my daughter wanted to try on, my daughter was told to get down to her undergarments and the saleslady would assist her!!!! WHAT!? I was not allowed to assist my own school aged daughter! This is ridiculous. The sales lady went on to get really mean and nasty to us.Just turn around and don’t waste your time here.
I walked in and they were so quick to help me! They asked me what type of dress I was looking for and helped me pick some out. They let me walk around the store and pick a few dresses out on my own. When I tried the dresses on the employees were so sweet to me amd complimented me in every dress. It was a loving environment, I plan to go back to buy a dress for next years prom as well!
Absolete at Mall was helpful and fun. My son actually enjoyed picking out his slim fit tuxedo. He looked amazing.
They are the best in costumer service, went in there stressed since I couldnt find a dress anywhere and they had exactly was I was looking for. Thanks again
Musty. Deceiving customer service. Seems good at first but kinda creepy. Wont give privacy while you try anything on. No photos allowed. They dont have multiple colors to show styles in and only shows a 1 in by 1 in sample of other colors. Refuses to share designer of dresses which seems pretty fishy, they could come from china for all we know (all tags were cut out of dresses). They dont even have a catalog to show styles in different colors. They spin it as if its a good service to you to have faith in the design you like. If they were confident in their service and pricing, theyd share designers like all other places. Dont waste your time here.
Recently bought a formal dress and have no complaints with this store but VERY disappointed in their sister store at river ridge mall. Horrible customer service! I understand things happen but over and over it was a “misunderstanding”. Ordered dress 6 weeks before event and was told it would be ordered next day. That it takes about 3-4 days to come in and that they would call me and at that time we would set up alterations. I never received a call and tried to call several times with no answer. No voicemail and apparently too busy to answer phone. I don’t live close by so when we were at the mall 3 weeks and 1 day later I went in to check, assuming it should have been in a week or so ago....it hadn’t even been ordered! So he said it would be ordered and be in end of week. Came back in end of week and wrong dress was ordered! Now we are 2 weeks from event and he says they will 2 day express ship but their alteration person is fully booked. I called the day he told me to call for 3 hours straight with no one answering. Finally an hour before store closes he answers and when I inquired about dress he was rude and said it was there and I said we would be there to get it and he said ok and hung up on me. My daughter was out that way and went by to pick it up and she called me and said they couldn’t find it....20 minutes after I had talked to him! She waited as they looked for it and said it was at their other store which was closed. So the next day as soon as other store opened I called the other store and told them I was on the way to get it there....I no longer wanted to deal with the guy at the mall store. The lady was very nice at the downtown store, I picked it up and have had to scramble to find someone to alter dress...days before event. Never ever would I go to Dayspring Bridal Formal and Tuxedo in the mall. Horrible service once sale was done and rude! If I hadn’t have stayed on top of it over and over, my daughter would have had no dress.
The person who helped us was nice the first time we went, then the second time we came back she was extremely rude from the second that we walked in. They dont have too many nice dresses, and the few dresses, as far as Bridal, that are nice are extremely overpriced. The associate also made the entire bridal party feel stupid when we couldnt remember the name of the color that we wanted for the bridesmaids dresses.
Excellent customer service and huge inventory. Needed to get a hard to find size for my client 2 days before the event. Searched for 3 days until I called Absolute. They had 3 tux in my grooms size. The owner Val is very customer friendly and helpful. Largest selection Ive seen in this area.
Great experience. The groom looked amazing and his groomsmen tuxedos fit perfectly. Priced right!
I was utterly lost on where I was going to get my dress, none the less what kind of dress I wanted. I walked into this store a very nervous bride. As soon as the consultant approached me I felt very comfortable and at home. She was one of the friendliest people I had ever met, didnt push me into anything I was uncomfortable with and helped me find my perfect, beautiful (not to mention affordable) wedding gown!! I will never regret coming here and will continue to refer people here! Thank you Absolute Bridal!!! ❤❤❤
My husband and I got married back in August and had been working with Absolute Bridal and Formal since December 2014 for the Groom/Groomsmen. We did not have a good experience with this business. We were told to come back in around April to get registered and then to come back at the end of June to order. In April my husband got fitted for his tuxedo, We went back in May to compare the colors with the Bridesmaid dresses and were told we needed to hurry up and get everyone fitted no later than the first week of June. We had to rush and some of our groomsmen had to take vacation time from work to get fitted then we got a call that my husband needed to be fitted and we told them he had already gotten fitted back in April and the guy that sized him said he didnt write it down b/c he usually keeps it in his head, of course he didnt remember so my husband had to leave work to go get fitted again. We originally quoted $161 for everything but what they didnt disclose is that $161 didnt include the $40 registration fee. So it ended up being over $200 and we could have went with Celebration Bridal across the street and saved $20 for the exact suit we wanted. We were told to pick up the tuxedos Thursday before the wedding. Well my husband called that Wednesday to make sure all the groomsmen had paid he was told that the tuxedos were in and needed to be picked up THAT DAY in case things didnt fit right on some of the guys.... and he wasnt allowed to pick up their suits b/c they had to be tried on.... well again all the guys had planned on taking time the Thursday that they were originally told to come pick up their suits and they had to take vacation time that Wed to go pick up the suits. This was not a seamless process, no one is on the same page, the whole process was frustrating.
I drove up from Savnnah Ga for a wedding and forgot my cuff links. Gari went above and beyond to help me find a set. We walked store to store and he even called another shop just to help me. Unfortunately we were not able to find a pair so decided to get a shirt from him instead. His level of service was far beyond any I have encountered. He even offered his very own off his cuffs. Forever grateful for you Garrett Wayne!
First, the lady & gentleman who both worked at the store in their late 30s, early 40s.... (Pretty sure they were the owners) Extremely rude and pushy from the moment we walked into the store. The lady followed us around the entire time and would not give us a chance to shop or even browse without hovering like we were going to steal something. No photography, video or even texting is allowed & there are signs posted everywhere strictly prohibiting it. Worst bridal experience/shopping experience Ive ever encountered in a store. Not to mention the place smells like mold & mildew. Customer service was beyond terrible. A great way to ruin what is supposed to be a wonderful & exciting time for a Bride and her Bridal party. Im actually writing this review while standing in the store because thats how horrible this place was. Do yourself a favor and go ANYWHERE else!!!! If I could give less than 1 star, I would.
1/12/2019Visited their store on Main St. in downtown Lynchburg first. We were looking for military ball dresses. This store seems a little run down and all sampling dresses are on hanging mannequins. We were quickly greeted and told that someone would be with us soon, this woman approached and asked what I was looking for. She pointed me to the color I was looking for and told us that the discount was on this side. She then preceded to tell us that their store in River Ridge Mall had more inventory and I should be able to find something I liked in there. We drove the 10 minutes to River Ridge Mall. Walked in and everything “seemed” fine. As soon as I started going through the dresses, as my mother did too, the woman and man who I presume was the owner and she said he had been doing this for 24 years, started to pick dresses out for me. As I said that I did not like the the woman would say “Awwwh come on, just try it on!” I am an extremely private person and she put the dress into the dressing room for me as I waited outside and she asked if I was going to come in. She was in the room as I stripped and she pulled the dress up over me and zipped me. I felt extremely uncomfortable with this. After I had walked to the large mirror and showed my mother, who knew by the look on my face that I hated the dress, she got the male whom she was working with and made me explain to him why I didn’t like the dress. I understand that they were trying to find a dress that I would like but after seeing the dress hanging on the mannequin I can tell if I would like it on me, or not. They pushed me to try on about 6 dresses. Finally, she got a dress but told me to close my eyes and I couldn’t look at it until I got to the mirror. When I got to the mirror, my mother was extremely angered by this whole ordeal. When I was asked what I didn’t like about the dress that had been blindly put on my body, I said everything I hated. She began to cover up what I had pointed out and asked if they could remove those parts of the dress if I would like it more. When I said no, my mother spoke up and asked if I was ready to leave. The woman replied with “Wait, what if I show you the bridesmaid dresses” (which seem more plain, which is what I was going for). My mother replied with “No, we really need to be going, with the weather and everything.” She looked at me and walked to the bridesmaids dresses and began showing me them, I shot down every single one. We walked back to the dressing room and she unzipped me and removed the dress off of my body. I dressed and we walked out.Never in the 10 other dress stores I have been in has anyone ever been so pushy to make a sell, or for me to try on a dress I plainly didn’t like. I have had associates who zipped me, which is completely acceptable as I would not want to be held responsible for a zipper breaking, but I find it completely unacceptable for the associate to be in the dressing room with you and have them dress you. Not to mention having to explain why I didn’t like every dress I was forced to try on. This is beyond no privacy. Not to mention the no photography signs posted everywhere in the store and that all tags are cut out of the dresses.Highly disappointed and will never return. Customer service is horrible and pushy.
Susan, you Absolutely (😉) ROCK! Thank you for your superb customer service and that SMILE!!! Best tuxedo service I have ever received.
LIARS. FRAUDS. DO NOT ENTER.SUSAN IS A LIAR. SHE WILL NOT ANSWER MY PHONE CALLS. I PURCHASED MY DRESS AND PAID FOR IT AND WAS OVER A MONTH BEFORE SHE WOULD MAIL IT TO ME. WHEN IT ARRIVED, IT WAS IN HORRIBLE SHAPE - FILTHY AND TORN. THEY WOULD NOT COMPENSATE.THE STORY ISNT OVER, THEY WONT MAIL MY MATERIAL THAT WAS ALSO PAID IN MAY. SUSAN IS IGNORING MY PHONE CALLS. MY SISTER CALLED FROM A DIFFERENT AREA CODE AND GOT AN IMMEDIATE ANSWER. SHE PROMISED TO TEXT ME A TRACKING NUMBER LAST NIGHT OR THIS MORNING AND I HAVENT RECEIVED ANYTHING. PROBABLY BECAUSE ITS NOT BEEN MAILED. I COULD TYPE FOREVER ON THE TRAUMATIZING EXPERIENCE THIS HAS BEEN. I HOPE IM THE LAST BRIDE THAT HAS TO GO THROUGH THIS HELL. THEIR WEBSITE CLAIMS THAT THEIR SERVICE IS WORTH BOASTING ABOUT. WHERES THE BOASTING IN THESE COMMENTS VAL? SUSAN?I WILL WRITE MORE LATER. WISH I COULD STOP THIS FROM HAPPENING AGAIN TO SOMEONE. I AM AT MY WITS END WITH THESE PEOPLE. THEY NEED SHUT DOWN. MY HEART IS BROKEN, MY DAY IS RUINED. I HOPE YOURE HAPPY. HOW CAN YOU EVEN SLEEP AT NIGHT? YOUR RESPONSES TO THE OTHER REVIEWS COULD BE SHOT DOWN TOO BECAUSE YOU CANT KEEP YOUR STORY STRAIGHT. I HAVE SO MUCH PROOF THAT YOU SHOULD BE SCARED. DO YOU EVEN REMEMBER ALL YOU TOLD ME? SQUIRRELS IN THE PHONE LINES THAT CANT ANSWER A 207 AREA CODE, BUT YOU CAN IMMEDIATELY ANSWER A PHONE NUMBER YOU DONT RECOGNIZE? YOU HARRASSED ME AT THE STORE. I WAS ON A TIME LIMIT AND YOU WOULDNT LET ME LEAVE. YOU MADE ME STRIP IN FRONT OF YOU (a crime) AND YOU PUT THE DRESS ON AND OFF. YOU WOULDNT LET MY MOTHER NEAR. YOU WOULDNT LET ME USE MY PHONE. I THOUGHT IT WAS STRANGE, BUT DIDNT KNOW IT WAS DEAD WRONG UNTIL I VISITED ANOTHER BRIDAL SHOP AND THEY FREAKED OUT. I HAD A TOTAL DIFFERENT EXPERIENCE FOR THE GOOD, BUT THEY DIDNT HAVE MY DRESS SO I CALLED YOU. YOU BLASTED MY EARS WITH MORE LIES SO I GAVE IN AND ORDERED MY DRESS. YOU SAID MY DRESS WAS ONE OF A KIND AND ITS NOT. ITS FROM CHINA. I COULD HAVE GOT IT BRAND NEW FOR THREE TIMES LESS THE AMOUNT I PAID FOR YOUR DIRTY USELESS DRESS. YOU MAY BE ABLE TO RUIN MY WEDDING/DRESS, BUT YOU CANT RUIN MY MARRIAGE. AND YOU BETTER GET BUSY AND MAIL THAT FABRIC SITTING BESIDE YOU OR SEND ME THAT TRACKING NUMBER AS PROMISED. IVE HAD ENOUGH OF YOU. YOU WILL NOT CONTROL ME. PEOPLE, PLEASE READ ALL OF THE REVIEWS. THESE PEOPLE (the customers) ARENT LYING. THEYVE EXPERIENCE IT! YOULL BE MET WITH FAKE SMILES AND FANCY CLOTHES AND VOICES, BUT DONT BE FOOLED. TRUST YOUR GUT, I DIDNT. I FELL FOR IT, BUT PLEASE DONT DO THE SAME.***UPDATE***Since posting my experience, Susan as sent me my tracking number and my material is on the way, FINALLY. From what the tracking number proves, it was only shipped AFTER my sister reprimanded Susan and told her to mail it today as I have an appointment with my seamstress this weekend. My sister informed me that Susan told her yesterday that it had been shipped that morning, but tracking shows it did not get taken to the post office until 4:02PM (another lie). Honestly though, I dont know how to tell anyone to avoid this unnecessary drama other than dont go to Absolute Bridal to begin with. Its sad what the store and the customers go through. How hard is it to just do business right. How much of a greater business could they be if they had happy customers that were treated right that could recommend instead of stop them from entering. Best of luck to their future customers.
My sister is getting married in September of this year. My Grandmother, Mother, little sister myself and the bride all went out for a shopping day to find my sisters dream dress. we pulled into Absolute with high expectations and excitement as we walked thru the door. As we entered the store I was surprised to see the cheap set up, with scary mannequins and strange lay out of the building. To the right were shoes, and Formal gowns and to the left was the wedding section. We all eagerly made our way to the left, hoping the dresses didnt reflect the stores layout. Being one of 7 kids my family is on a tight budget for this wedding. My mother walked towards a row of wedding dresses to see if they had any options we could possibly afford before we looked around. A worker from the store…. or possibly the manager came walking briskly up to our little group. She asked if we had an appointment and my mother answered that we were just looking around the store. The lady then told us that she would set up an appointment to try on dresses later that day and to come back. Again my mother answered that we just wanted to look around first. The worker responded by saying that if we looked at the dresses on the hangers we wouldnt like any of them. Ha! Who finds a dress on a hanger says this is so ugly Im going to try it on Um, no we all have our own taste and know what we like. My mother then replied that we would just like to peruse the store first to see if we could even afford a dress from the shop. Again, crazy lady refused to let us look around the shop unless we would try on dresses. And so the southern sass appeared in my mothers countenance as she cocked her hip. My mothers response Youre telling me Im not even a loud to look around the shop with my daughter the bride unless I schedule an appointment for her try on dressed when I dont even know if we can afford them. With a nod of her head the lady replied That is correct and with a turn of her heals my mother exited the store ranting down the side walk as she went. I was extremely disappointed in the over all store lay out, atmosphere and the manners of worker we encountered. I would suggest to all wedding or formal dress shoppers they there are far better options out there. Dont waste your time on the Absolutely…… unless you want to be Absolutely disappointed.
If I could leave a 0 star review for this place I would. The same goes for their pop up store in river ridge mall, Dayspring bridal. I bought my wedding dress here as well as rented tuxedos for the grooms party. It could not have turned out worse. The people who work there are completely clueless including the owners. They do not communicate effectively with their clientele whatsoever. I DO NOT recommend dealing with either of their stores for any formal needs whether it be wedding, prom, or homecoming.
Took my daughter for her prom dress and though the woman was nice we were not to pick out or look through the dresses. She chose 3 that were not good at all and then showed us to the door. Sad because we were ready to spend good money but couldnt even look for my daughters perfect dress for her senior prom!!! I would not recommend anyone using them for anything YOU may want.
Somewhat limited selection and the gentleman who runs the store is not very good at helping with finding a dress. He likes to tell you what he wants you to get instead of helping to find you a dress based on what you want. And of course he likes to make you try the more expensive items only
Very helpful, friendly and knowledgeable of their product, I highly recommend them. Good people, God bless
I love this dress shop the dresses are very unique. They service was amazing.
Susan is AMAZING. Looking forward to working with her now for my sons wedding & later on for my daughters wedding.
Absolute worst dress place Ive ever visited. The first thing they say to me when I walk in is measurements are twenty dollars. Next thing you know the workers would not let me pick out my own dresses. They continually tried to make me try on dresses that I told them I absolutely hate. Then, my friend texts me and I WAS TOLD I COULDNT USE MY PHONE. Im sorry but last I checked I pay my own phone bill. And lastly, my mom came to the dressing room to see how one dress fit and they told MY MOTHER who is PAYING FOR MY DRESS to leave. It was horrible. Im honestly not sure how they are even in business.
My daughter is in a wedding that got dresses from this place. They ordered a dress several sizes too large, didnt get it in until 2/3 weeks before the wedding and wouldnt do anything to help get the right size or re-size it. Terrible service. I would recommend avoiding this place.
Awful, after waiting three months for a dress that was supposedly ordered and made, it arrived to our home with 5 stains, and ink spot, a bra holder that had a seem directly down the front of the left cup and the dress smelled like mold. I was told by Susan I would be receiving a full refund; however, shes now not answering my texts. The entire experience the last three months has been horrific, Susan wouldnt return any of my calls, she advised I had to call her for status updates and ship dates and then to ship us defective, moldy prom material that she calls a dress, shame on her and this business for even sending such garbage out!
Walked in with my roommate (me-bridesmaid, she- the bride) on a Sunday to browse wedding dresses. The store itself had a very particularly musty smell that I literally tasted in my throat after roaming around for 10 minutes or so. It lingered for a while even after I had left the store. The store clerk was friendly but very pushy to set up an appointment right then and there, even though we had explained that we only had Sundays available so we would have to coordinate with out work schedules, but she persisted, making it a little uncomfortable.Later that day we also dropped by the location in the mall (to learn that both share the same owner- Dayspring)The man was the absolute rudest person I have ever encountered in retail, you would think that all the negative reviews would serve as a wake up call. He insisted on telling us that we may think that we know what we are looking for, but that we actually didnt until we set up an appointment and tried things on. His very condescending and pushy Ive been doing this for 26+ years attitude made us so uncomfortable. He also physically blocked the walkway to the dresses which he said we were free to browse but that it was dangerous because we would be comparing it to our expectations from online browsing (meanwhile we repeatedly explained that we had no expectations since we hadnt looked online or anywhere and were open to any suggestions). Perhaps others have had better experiences, but those two interactions were enough to ensure that we would never return.
Oh jeez. Let me be clear and as short as possible. I am a bride and out of the many many bridal stores I have been too I was extremely uncomfortable. As a bride I would NEVER purchase a bridesmaids dress without being able to show my girls what dress they are going to be purchasing. But with their no picture and their unique touch of not telling you what designer you may or may not be paying for, I would absolutely never give them my money or any of my girls money. The customer service is absolutely beyond poor and they dont understand how to talk to people without demeaning then. What I would absolutely LOVE, is for them not to give me an incredibly sassy passive aggressive response with quotations on things they believe not to be true about my review and all capitals EMPHASIZING things they believe I dont understand. A good owner would apologize and attempt to change business habits. But they will continually loose money and business as brides learn the market and understand that they are not what a wedding vendor should represent (being one myself). My post and review is purely to warn brides to not walk through your doors, rather than hear your excuses and awful usage of grammar that belittle people.
They don’t have the dresses separated by size which is harder to find a dress .
I didnt care for the way staff treated customers. I just wanted to browse styles of wedding dresses. They were more concerned about setting up an appointment and stated no pictures. Why treat someone like a second class citizen if you just want to browse?? We also noticed the place smelled musty. Their loss is anothers gain...we found a better bridal shop nearby that knows how to treat clients. The owner should actually read these reviews and consider changes instead of making excuses for their poor service.
We went there to go dress shopping for a school dance, we were ignored and told to wait for service. We waited for half an hour and werent taken seriously and had awful service. Other customers with no appointments received service before us. When we finally did receive service it wasnt awful, they apologized. However its frustrating to not be taken seriously.
They are absolutely awful. I didnt even want to give them 1 star. The owner has no idea what he is doing. They dont want to just say they was wrong. Would never do busy with them again
I had a last minute need for a tux and this was the only place I was able to find one the day before the event.
Val was very helpful when he was available and in the end my wife and I both bough from them for our wedding. We are happy with how we looked. My groomsmen (3/5 of which were out-of-towners) had some difficulties trying to get their rentals however, as only sizings done in-house or from a reputable shop would suffice for their ordering needs. One groomsman wound up paying for shoes he did not need. Extenuating circumstances aside they did try to provide us a pleasant experience each time we were there. My only advice would be to make sure to ask about the difference between what they refer to as a deposit and what to the rest of the rental/retail world constitutes a down-payment.
In the interest of good customer service, I think Ill go home now. In honor of this very horrible experience in a bridal store, Im going to purchase a bottle of wine and drink to forget...forget how horrible it actually was.
There were not many dresses here, but I did find a few that I liked, but the attendant turned me down for each one!! I would pick one and she would say it wouldnt fit, or that I would need alterations and cant get it. There were two areas, and I picked a few dresses from each, but since she claimed she only worked on one side of the store I could not even try on the dresses on the other side. I picked eventually one dress she let me try on, and she said my mother was not allowed to come back with me, and that she was going to put me in the dress. I said that I felt more comftorable having my mom, and that I would not prefer her to be in the dressing room as I am in my underwear. She said that it was policy and that she does it every day. The only thing she did was hold the dress as i stepped in it and then zip it, which I could have done easily enough, and if I could not, I could have asked for help. I felt extremely uncomfortable being forced to have her back there while I was unclothed. As I was undressing from the next dress, I was thrown into another gown, and when I said I did not like it, and explained why, she almost pouted and complained that I should like it, and that she does. It was like I could not think for myself or do anything by myself. The first dress I tried on I really liked, but was almost $500 and it was an extremely simple dress that I had seen similar dresses in other stores for only $100ish. Then she told me I would need maybe a couple hundred in alterations. I said screw it and walked out. Would not come back and would not advise for anyone to waste their time here
The owner of the store made his was over to the podium and it was all downhill from there. The sales associate was doing a wonderful job, and honestly would have had me sold on the dress. With wedding dresses being such a high priced item these days it seems only natural that you put some time and thought into your decision. The owner was very pushy and almost demanding saying, well, if you think about it..you probably could have found another man you like better if you kept looking..well its the same concept with a dress! I found that VERY rude and VERY off putting. They lost a sale that very moment. I was planning on sleeping on the idea of that particular dress and then coming back to purchase, but he was so demanding and so very adamant that I needed to buy that dress right away that it completly turned me off and I went across the street to Celebration bridal and made a purchase. My advice is that the owner have nothing to do with making future sales.
Terrible. All these reviews about this place being terrible are right. Its expensive for poor product and poor service. They got my sizes completely wrong and I had to pay extra because they got it wrong. Dont go here. Just dont.
I was in town visiting Church Street Bridal on 3/19/16 (CSB is amazing) and thought I would stop by Absolute because I saw an advertisement. I walked into the store and was politely harassed by the employee working there. I was looking for both a flower girl dress and a wedding dress. The employee continually asked me to make an appointment in the afternoon. I explained I couldnt because I was from out of town and couldnt hang around waiting for the appointment. The employee practically followed me around the store asking are you sure you dont want to make an appointment, over and over again. I had no intentions of pulling any dresses out, I simply wanted to look. They had a very small selection of size 16 dresses that were on the rack. Theres no way I would have ever ordered anything from them. (Please note, I was a serious buyer and purchased a $1275 sottero and midgley dress that same day from another store.)
Very rude service, and had an attitude with every question i asked and i wasnt allowed to take pictures of the gowns i liked. the lady in there didnt even bother to help me unless i tracked her down. very over priced dresses, i dont recommend!
Found the dress of my dreams here! Staff was amazing!
The lady who helped me on the phone was completely rude and short with me. I will never use this place again.
Absolute worst experience with customer service of my life! Not during the sale (of course because they ONLY are interested in your money) but after. I was told specifically I will order your dress on Monday, and it will be here in the store for you to pick up in 5 days Now I am no expert in retail sales, however, if the dress was ordered on Monday and would be in the store in 5 days then it should have been delivered on Friday...Also, during the sale I explained to the clerk that I actually lived an hour away and that I would need to return the following weekend and was told that should not be a problem at all, the dress should be here. I went back on the following Saturday to be told that it was a miscommunication and that the 5 days did not actually include Monday because it was ordered on that day and since there was not Saturday delivery the dress would not be delivered until the upcoming Monday...again, I am no expert, but that would be considered 7 days, not 5. When I asked to speak to a manager he attempted to lecture me about lessons in life and that his clerk was being gracious with me by calling this a miscommunication in the first place because I should have known better. The manager (and I use that term as a joke) then attempted to say that it was basically my fault and I should not have expected the dress before Monday. I guess I should have somehow known that in retail world 5 days actually means 7, silly me... At one point he even said to me this is a minor misunderstanding, its like us agreeing to meet at Applebees and you go to one and I go to another. Well once again, I am not an expert in retail, BUT, it isnt that type of misunderstanding at all. Because I would never go to an Applebees an hour away from my home, pay $200 for a meal and then be okay if I was told I could eat it two days later. The manager or the clerk never apologized for misleading me but did however apologize that I misunderstood them. I was the one who had to ask them how they were going to fix the issue, not once before I mentioned this suggestion did either of them offer to make things right. At my suggestion the dress is supposed to be mailed to my home...but who knows if that will happen. Also when I reminded them the dress was for a scheduled event and that if it needed to be altered in any way the time frame for that now was actually 4 days less. The manager suggested I simply call the person who normally does my alterations and put them on stand by so they could open up their schedule to fix the dress if need be...as if that suggestion is practical or even makes any sense. I could go on and on about how these people treated me! If you want Absolute horrible service, no customer service skills, no apologies when they make an error, then by all means check them out. Otherwise I would STRONGLY suggest you stay as far away from this store as possible.
Dont go here unless you have an appointment. They wouldnt help us at all because we didnt have an appointment. Ive never been to a business that practically kicks you out the door when you are interested in spending thousands of dollars in their store.
Absolutely horrible service, never come here if you want good service. It smells bad and its sketchy and no one will wait on you even if its for a quick change to your order
I ordered a dress here several months ago. First the store smells like mold, and looks like its out of a horror film. Second the manager was extremely rude when i placed my order. the dress came in and i was asked to wait to come get it, TWO WEEKS BEFORE THE WEDDING. Finally came in and picked up my dress. Got it home and if i lift my hands it falls to the ground. THe dress looked as if it had been thrown in a bag, extremely wrinkly. The service here is horrible. I went back and asked to speak to the manager, to which she pointed me to a size chart and told me thats how they measured me. Clearly this was measured wrong. You shouldnt have to have people sign off on a paper saying what their size is if you can measure for a dress correctly... Then the alterations place said they cant fit me in so i asked for recommendations, the lady working gave me a name and when i asked where she responded cant you look it up? again, HORRIBLE SERVICE. I would not recommend anyone ever going there. So now i have a dress, that was way over priced, and does not fit. and the lady working then asks is there anything else i can do to help you? the least i would have asked for is, im sorry mam. we feel bad but we have a no return policy... at the least. all i got was excuses. and im sorry stop replying with fictitious review if you arent gonna fix all the crap that all these people wrote about. Thats just stuck up and rude.
I read these other reviews and I am overwhelmed with disgust! I went in here and I met some of the most genuine people. They were so very helpful and I tried on things that I wouldnt think I could see myself in....and you know what?! I fell in love!!! But of course me being a girl I had to go to a couple other bridal gowns to see what was out there. I found that other stores were snoody (celebration)So I went back to Absolute not only because I fell in love with my gown but because the people are amazing. Joy and Val Thank you very much for a superb experience! I for one will deffinately be telling others about your store!!!
FIRST I WANT PEOPLE TO KNOW THAT THE BBB OF LYNCHBURG VA TOLD ME TODAY THAT ABSOLUTE BRIDAL HAS AN F RATING. poorest customer service ever. do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. my son and daughter in law went in and booked months ago with absolute. they were told by joy that because they were renting 9 suits that the grooms would be free and 2 half off. when it came time to pay they refused to honor it. they also ordered one color tie and when they were picked up on friday before the wedding saturday- they were the wrong color. they did nothing to compensate at all. hello! this is a wedding- no time for mistakes. upon returning the rentals the bride was told they did not have time to scan them all in and sent her away. then they tried and charge here with a missing vest which she had turned in. they are terrible and should be out of business. i went to the better business bureau and of course they are not listed. wonder why??? steer clear of these people. they are not honest or dependable. sept 2012
Yesterday my fiancé and her friend were both looking around for wedding dresses until they were rudely told try werent allowed in the store with out making an appointment. They were both intending on buying as well but we will be taking our business to CSB.
