Lynchburg has lost a Gentle Giant - and the Best of the Best - in the Auto Repair business. Our family relied on them for 6 years while we sent all of our children to school at Liberty. We even took our cars from Washington DC to Mr. Staton for service because he was better, and far less expensive than anybody there. He was a true gentleman, and he had an amazing team. Don’t know what you folks are going to do without the Statons around to fix your cars! But our family will always be grateful to them.

I cannot believe what I went through with this place... Do not trust them!!$1000-2000 fix they were about to charge me for something that was not even broken!I had driven my car to work one morning just fine, nothing seemed wrong. After work, tried to start it and switch gears from park to reverse, and it just didnt do anything - stayed like it was in park but the shifter was just sliding from park to reverse as if it wasnt connecting to anything in order to put it in actual reverse. So, I called this place because I knew of them through the family. They towed it, and looked at it the next morning. I got a call that the problem was the transmission that needed to be replaced so it was more worth it to sell the car to them for parts than to pay to fix it. I was completely shocked and devastated because I thought from what I had researched about the problem that it was just some broken cable for the shifter. So I proceed to buy a used transmission, and try to get it quoted to fix which through them would be $1000 on top of buying the transmission. We shopped around for different prices and found someone to do it cheaper, but during this time I had to spend a fortune to rent a car for a week as well. Finally we found someone who could start working on it so we brought it to this other place, and I just got a call that there was NOTHING wrong with the transmission and it WAS in fact, just the simple cable that was broken. Staton and Sons was about to let me sell them my broken car for parts, or charge me for a $1000 new transmission plus $1000 to fix it when it TRULY was just a simple, $100-200 fix that could have been done in one day. I wasted so much money during this whole process for something that could have been fixed for a fraction of the cost. Never going back.

Over the past few weeks I have taken a few cars that Im interested in purchasing there to get looked at. They looked them over and told what was wrong with them and showed me the problems. Very helpful. Helped me sell my junk car for parts. Easy and painless. I havent had the so any repairs or work on any of my cars yet because Im new to the area but my boyfriends family has been going there forever. I will definitely give them a shot. The only thing is that similarly to other users he did take his car in to get an oil change and brakes checked and they told him he didnt need brakes done but he did need new tires. Not sure if they called him to tell him first or just went ahead and did it. Im sure if you tell them you can only afford to do one thing that you went in for they would stick with the plan.

We have used Staton and Sons for over 30 years. Always reliable. This visit I had a slow leak causing a flat tire. It was an unscheduled visit and only took an hour!

Took my Silverado in for some repairs and as always these guys come thru for me. My family has been dealing with this shop since they opened in the 80s I was just a kid when I went there with my dad. They always fix things right the 1st time and let you know whats going on during the repair. I trust them with my 3 vehicles and recommend them to anyone who needs repair work.

Intimidating customer service! Took my car in and they threatened if I didnt sit in their waiting room they would call the police. Called me names and said it was illegal to wait outside in their parking lot. The most disrespectful shop I have ever been to. PLEASE NO ONE SUPPORT THIS BUSINESS!!! THEY DO NOT DESERVE ONE DIME!!!

Took our car to be inspected and we were told that it wouldnt pass due to needing a tie rod and wheel bearing. He took my husband back and tried to guilt him by using the you wouldnt want your child and pregnant wife to drive this car this way line. Quoted us $420 and rejected the car. We took the car and only the tie rod needed replacing. My husband was able to replace it himself for less than 100. He was livid when he went to fix the wheel bearing and there wasnt a thing wrong with it. Took the car with a new tie rod to another place and was passed with flying colors. Be wary of wolves in sheeps clothing. . .

Very trusted and has saved me a lot of money versus paying dealer prices. Call your dealer and then call Staton and Sons and you will agree.

Fair and honest garages are hard to come by, Staton and Sons is one of the few.
