I was very happy with the service that I received today at Terry Subaru dealership.My battery had died today and after I received a jump start, I called them and they told me to come in and ask for Mike. He was very friendly, explained my options and gave my car an overall inspection as Subaru dealers do. They were able to install a new battery today and my wait time was good. The place was very nice, everyone was polite and helpful. I plan to return when my car needs serviced.

Bought my car here (in Lynchburg), but live in South Boston, VA. Terry of South Boston couldnt rotate tires on my Tiguan with only 28,000 miles because of a said problem with alignment, and they suggest alignment check and all new tires. They provided pictures of the wear, agreed that I should probably call Ricky (service advisor) at Terry Volkswagon in Lynchburg, VA, and agreed to send pictures to Ricky. I left message for Ricky on Friday afternoon. Come Tuesday evening at 6:00pm had not got a call, so I called Ricky again. So, to reiterate, left message at 4:30 Friday, and did not hear back as of Tuesday at 6:00PM. Not acceptable.We had a nasty phone call from the start (and this is not the first time). Ricky hadnt got the pictures from Terry of South Boston, but worse he was dismissive and pessimistic, saying I dont see what good it would do for me to look at them. He also said, So, you only bring your car here when there is a problem, is that about right? Had the call on speakerphone in the car and my wife can testify that Ricky was combative/defensive from the start, listing off reasons why a 28,000 mile vehicle might would alignment problems (e.g., hitting a pothole) and need all of its factory tires replaced. No sympathy, no offer to even look at the car to explore the possibility of a mechanical problem (before I suggested it). (As a side note, our pet cat had just died earlier that day, and so his negativity was particularly unwelcome on this day.) He said alignment needs to be checked every 10,000 miles, and so my question is why arent they taking a look at this when I bring in my vehicle for service. (Ive been going to Terry of South Boston for the 10,000 mile services, and they make me go to Lynchburg on weekdays for all recall related or warranty stuff. There have been two recalls, and both times they take forever and then end up telling me they dont have the part I need. To their credit, they have given me a loaner on both occasions.) Regarding alignment, I was assuming that they check this, so at least tell me up front that this is not something you do (i.e., before you discover problems). Ive had issues with Ricky before and obviously he holds a grudge and/or hes just a negative, rude person. (Specifically, someone at Terry did not tighten the oil cap when the car had less than 5,000 miles, which caused numerous problems. Ricky blames me; I blame his team or one of Mr. Terrys technicians because I had never touched the oil cap on my new car, let alone popped the hood.) Some of the younger guys in service have good manners/customer service skills, but not the service advisor Ricky. Ill be taking my business elsewhere.

Took my VW atlas there for a recall and a problem with a airbag sensor. I live an hour away. I was told to plan to drop off so I asked about loaner car when I made the appointment. Was given information about loaner car. Told I could get one for the day. Got there for service appointment and was told “we have you for the shuttle”. I let it slide. Then 6 hours later car was not ready. Was gonna be 2 more hours. I’m sorry but for an 8 hour appointment, I think I could have been loaned a courtesy car.

Just took a VW Beetle for an annual state inspection. The engine checklight came on as well. They advised we bring in it the next day to troubleshoot and determine what the problem was. Technician said front strut mounts were bad and that the thermostat needed replacing. Gave us an estimate of approx. $700.00. They cleared the history of the diagnostic check so there was no visual data to support any of this. Took the vehicle to another shop for a 2nd opinion. Nothing was found wrong with the strut mounts. The car never overheated or was leaking from a faulty thermostat. The shop inspected the car and returned it to us.Glad we found an honest technician who was not into just changing parts and ripping us off. Needless to say, Terry VW/Subaru has lost a local customer. We will stick to the other shop for our maintenance and state inspections in the future.

I had a really great buying experience at Terry Volkswagen! Jennifer and Landon took care of me and helped me work through options that were the best fit for my needs. They followed up, were quick to respond when I had questions and scheduling changes, and were all around accomodating. I started having second thoughts at one point and Landon was quick to listen to my concerns, patient with my requests to look at more options, and ultimately created a comfortable environment for me to determine what I wanted without pressure.

Ive had my VW Beetle for 10 years (that I bought from them). Its had to come into the shop several times over the years for maintenance and the crew here has always gone above and beyond!

Zero stars- Ive had several bad experiences at Terry, which is why I bought my VW elsewhere and have advised friends to buy their Subarus elsewhere. If the issue on my VW wasnt under warranty, I would have taken it elsewhere.

Delano Smith, as always, took excellent care of my car. I did not know how dreadful the state of my tires were, and the team showed me why they were bad. Delano made recommendations and I was out of there for under $700 with air filter change, oil and filter change and four new tires!...Delano Made an unexpected expense much more bearable.

I’m a 22 year old girl went to buy a new car no one came to help me or even acknowledged me. I went to billy craft Honda and bought a new car the same day they were happy to help!!

Just nowMy wife and I purchased a car from here less than 6 months ago. We have had nothing but problem after problem. At first we needed spark plugs, then the engine was overheating and we took it in for several different things including repeated engine issues, transmission running too hot, cracks in the internal housing of the coolant, etc. The spark plugs were fixed, everything else they kept telling us all they did and it was never fixed. Now the transmission has gone out and they said there’s nothing they can do. Mind you we still have 2 YEARS of payments left on the car. We have been bamboozled and would not ever recommend to anyone.

Could not come to an agreement, they wouldnt come down even 1 dollar on their price on a used Nissan. This would have been my third vehicle that I bought from them. And now it will be my last visit. Very disappointed.

A call today to set up a service appointment for my 2019 Volkswagen Jetta that I may having issues with I talk to the service manager who dismissed my issue even after tell him what VW said I need done he said it wasn’t a problem he was very unprofessional and demeaning I believe because it under warranty he did not want to look at it he just want to change the oil for 70$

Very bad experience. Went there to fix the car high light for the driver side. My appointment was canceled twice because they didn’t have the part. They told me they fixed the part and when I left I saw that not only that they didn’t fix it but that they messed up the law lights and they were in different angles. Very bad customer service and very bad experience. They don’t know what they are doing and charge way too much.

I use this dealership for the service work on my Jetta TDI wagon and the staff here are friendly and make the over an hour drive worth it. I definitely recommend Terry Volkswagen.
