If I could post negative stars, I would. Service department manager AG, called to give courtesy call that Chevy 2021, 3500 with issues, has to physically stand in line for 3-4 business days prior to even being looked at. Keep in mind, this is a scheduled appointment made days earlier. No loaner car, rent a car, or car to rent from local store. No one else available to talk with to rectify the problem, just a courtesy call and a big eff you. It would have been nice to know when making the appointment, and/or not stating in appointment email services scheduled after 5pm will be worked on the next day.. Prehistoric, irrational, and incompetence. Thanks for wasting my time AG and Gene Messer.Nice to know the GM has time to respond to all the comments, but no time to fix the problem(s) or asinine policies. Nothing but excuses. MIKE, very sad and incorrect assumption on your behave to assume that I am from out of state... Is this why the truck has to stand in line for 4-5 days prior to being worked on, with an appointment? Two weeks to tell me that I dont have an issue with my transmission? I was also charged again for a repair that Gene Messer didnt get right the first time with the overhead compartment falling down. Poor communication throughout.

Last Saturday, our engine on our Yukon started to overheat on the first leg of our vacation We were able to limp into Lubbock and headed straight to Gene Messer Chevrolet because we were able to book an appointment online. Service advisor Ruben Villarreal and a mechanic named John worked extra hard to get our car back up and running the same day. It completely saved two days of our five day vacation. Don’t take your vehicle here for service. Twice I brought my vehicle here for repairs and picked up my car with a different problem then I came in with. Both times I let them know immediately about the issue and both times they didn’t even attempt to address the issue without me paying for another repair. They said both times I just had “bad luck” that something else would happen to go out when the made repairs.

Took the Silverado in for an oil change and 30,000 mile inspection on a Saturday at 9:30am. Picked it up at 4:45pm, only to arrive home with a very large amount of coolant dripping from the tire-well. Of course they are closed on Sunday, so I was without a ride all weekend. I call at 7am on Monday, have it towed to them at 8:30am,and was told a manager would contact me around 9am. When I didnt hear from them I called them at 9:36 to be told they have received the truck but the technician hasnt looked at it. That I should get a call once the manager talks to the technician who previously serviced it on Saturday. I finally talk to the service advisor at 10:06am and he tells me he was unaware the truck was there already and that the technician has yet to look at it. Said he would call me back with information . He called at 4:36pm and tries tell me that they have yet to look at it but they will get to it tomorrow. Still havent heard from a manager either.It is Tuesday morning and they are going to charge me for something they shouldve caught upon inspection, but I should have it back by lunch...

The first time I stepped foot on Gene Messer Chevrolet, I had $12,000 in my hand ready to put something down for a car. I walked around the entire lot taking pictures of cars. Several salesman watched me and no one tried to help me so I went to another gene messer where I unfortunately, bought a car that had a lot of issues. My car ended up at Gene Messer Chevrolet to be fixed. I was told it would take four days, I got it two weeks later. There was no communication. When I had dropped off my car it had a half tank of gas, when I picked it up it was completely on empty. I got on the loop to take my car to get gas because it was completely out of gas. I didn’t even make it to the gas station. I was stranded on the loop because there was not even enough gas to get me there.*update 9/29- it took Mr. Winn down there a few days to reply back to me via email. When he did he said he would call, I told him two days I was not available and it has been almost a week since I replies to him and I still have not heard back from him. He is not concerned about getting any issues resolved. Not surprising

I never heard anything on what was going on with the issue that I turned my truck in for. I called 3 days after dropping it off and they had no record of my truck at the facility or my name in the system. I was advised that someone would call me that day which never happened. When I picked up my truck I was told nothing about what repairs had to be done. I dont feel that one of the issues I turned in was addressed, due to still having the same problem. The only positive thing I had was the service advisor was nice.
I had been in the market for a 1st generation Ford SVT Raptor for a few months. I had made contact with a couple of dealers, but many blew me off since I was an out of town customer. As soon as I contacted Gene Messer, I was contacted by Diego, my sales rep. We talked a little, and I shared my intent to buy sight unseen since I live almost 6 hours away. He took it upon himself to send me a video of the truck they had and well as any other photos or follow up videos of it running I requested. He didn’t ignore me when I messaged him either like so many other sales reps had done while I was searching. When I arrived to pick up my truck, he had it ready to go. I would drive another 6 hours to buy again from this dealer. I highly recommend them to anyone!
TO ALL ACTIVE DUTY MILITARY!My Wife and I purchased a vehicle in Nov of 2020, the sales rep informed us that the process would be smooth and quick. The vehicle had a few issues however when it came to getting things scheduled it became very difficult. The rep even informed me that if my schedule wasnt so messed up he could have completed everything. Then when it came to getting the license plates we assumed that would go smoothly. I was instructed everything was ordered and not to worry. It is now April 2021 our plates were only recently ordered. I wish civilians understood the day to day stress that Active Duty Military go through. If you are Active Duty in the U.S. Military Do Not! I Repeat DO NOT go to this location if you need things done in a timely manner, it will only cause you more stress and you will not be able to focus on the mission.

My vehicle was kept for one week before they even started working on the issues and repairs. When I received my vehicle back, my sun visor was completely broken. Someone stuffed it back into the roof of the car in hopes I wouldn’t notice the damaged visor. I was driving my vehicle home from the dealership after I picked it up and the sun visor fell into my lap. I did not want to take my vehicle back to fix the broken visor because I had already been without my vehicle for one week and did not want to go without it even longer. Also, they charged me over $700 for the minor repairs and a broken sun visor. I would not recommend this company to anyone that I know. Zero integrity upon all staff and employees at Gene Messed Chevrolet.

Ronnie on the service drive would never update me and took his sweet time to get with enterprise on my repairs to get them approved. Then tried to add more service than was talked about with me. Tried adding oil change when it didn’t need it. Enterprises system lags and didn’t show a oil change the last time and he added it and tried to cover it up. He should have called me the person who is in charge of the vehicle instead of taking it upon himself to do things to a vehicle he knows nothing about.
Staff was so friendly and helpful. I received a very convenient scheduling time. My repair was done timely and so far w great results. I would highly recommend this service department. Very different care at this location than others I have visited.
Brought my truck in almost a month ago for 3 issues. One was fixed. The Key issue being it would get stuck when put in park and would not come out unless you turned truck off and on several times and put it in park., well they couldn’t magically recreate it but as soon as I pick it up and used both keys it’s already done it 3 times. I’ll just forget about the 3rd issue that could not be recreated either. The communication was also not great nobody said anything I had to ask when my truck was already there for almost a week as to status.. VERY FUSTRATED.
They took great care of my car, fixing the recall on my ignition and my oil pan. Very polite, efficient and kind.

I wish I could leave a negative rating, what a joke of a facility! I took my brand new 2021 Chevy in there for a safety alarm that informed me to take it in right away, and they did nothing about it, just said they couldn’t find it, and released it back to us. even though I showed them the email, text message, a pic of the alarm in my dash and the my Chevy app alert! Needless to say 30 seconds after driving it off the lot the alarms flashed across my dash and have been doing it ever since! Maybe General Motors should do a little better job at hiring, because I will never put my families safety in the hands of Gene Messer again! Thanks for making me feel like just another number!
I drove two hours after talking to Gene Messer Chevrolet on the phone about getting my truck serviced. When I got there they said they can take a look at it but they are five days out on servicing vehicles and are calling people 24 hours out to notify them. This is something that would have been good to know prior to making the drive.Do not recommend.

I was quoted over 2700 dollars for a side view mirror and a condenser. Total part cost was 900 bucks…they told me it would take 7-8 hours to replace the condenser alone, give me a break. The best part was after I got the truck back I saw no signs of them having tested the condenser for a leak.
Bob New was our salesman and he was so helpful, informative and genuine. We have already recommended him to a few of our friends. Everyone was friendly and we felt comfortable. That will be our “go to” dealership now.

WORSE DEALERSHIP IN TOWN!!!Dropped off my vehicle for an airbag recall and an inspection for any issues, I was told it would take one day. Got a call the next day about the issues and then they stated the airbag would be in within two more days. When I called two days later, no one even knew my vehicle was there and when they found it out in the lot they didn’t even know I was suppose to get a recall fixed so they said it would be done by the next day. I called the next day(Friday) and the same issue all over again and was told it would be done by Monday. Called Monday and the same dang issue happened again, I told them I would go pick it up the next day and they informed me the part would be in within a week. Took it back to get it fixed with an appointment at 7am, they said it would be done by noon. I called 3x to check on the status and no one could give me information on it. I showed up at the dealership at 130 and was told it wouldn’t be ready until the end of the day, I had to leave it overnight again. I will never be going back to this dealership and would highly discourage others to go as well!

I bought a truck here in September 2020. During the sale I was told that since I was a new Chevy owner I would receive a free 5yr/60,000 mile warranty, an upgrade from the standard 3yr/36,000 mile warranty. Turns out that the warranty cost was hidden in a line item on my deal sheet that only had acronyms as a descriptor. I guess I cant prove it now but I know what happened. I also understand that I really should have questioned more. The salesman was alright but the finance guy was clearly proficient at pulling a fast one on people.Fast forward six months. and 10,941 miles. My brand new Chevy 1500 Z71 suddenly has a debilitating oil leak. I mean oil just cascading out of the seal/plate between the engine and transmission. Clearly warranty related.I have it towed to Gene Messer. I spoke with someone on the phone who assured me it would be quickly addressed that day. Well come to find out that person works at a Houston call center and has no idea what is going on at the Lubbock location, which I was told be my assigned service agent that I only know as Jared. Jared tells me it will be several days before it will get even diagnosed. Then he tells me all the loaners are out and they cant get me a rental. I dont have family here so my options are getting a rental for an undetermined period of time or being without transportation.I have a full time job and a small business so transportation is a must. Jared tells me that Chevy will reimburse up to $35/day for a rental if it is determined to be warranty related and I rent a GM vehicle from Enterprise. Well turns out you cant get a rental car or less than $60/day in Lubbock. So I am eating that.Then the truly infuriating part. Jared, who is supposed to be my primary contact for everything service related, completely ghosts me. Its now be four days with no response to texts or voicemails, much less him picking up the phone when I call. As I write this I have been on hold with the service department for 30 minutes.Now I understand that they couldnt have knowingly sold me a problem vehicle and that that is out of their control. But how they handled it from that point is entirely within their control. I should have had the vehicle towed to a small town dealership and I should have shopped elsewhere. Let my lessons guide you so you do not suffer the same consequences.
I called ahead and made an 8:00 a.m. appointment to have the oil changed and the tires rotated. I arrived at the dealership a little before 8:00 and was told there are 17 8:00 appointments and that it would take about 2 and a half hours. What good is it to have an appointment? This is not the first time I have had this issue. One other time I made an appointment for more complicated work, expecting it to take a few hours but when I arrived they told me it would be 3 weeks and that my appointment was only an appointment to drop the car off, but not an appointment to get it fixed. What good is an appointment? I will remember this next time I buy a new car, as well.

Made an appointment to have truck serviced after receiving letter for a recall. Showed up 45 minutes early to leave truck. Employees just kept walking by me not asking if they could help. When I did get help I was told it would take 3 to 4 hours. 7 hours later it still wasnt done and no one could give me an answer why. I was told someone would pick me up. When it was finally done I was told shuttle driver was gone for the day. You guys are horrible.

I am a manager at a hail company we spent thousands of dollars over the years here at gene messer chevrolet.. I ordered parts about 2 weeks ago and called them today to check to see if they were in. I Talked to David in the parts department some person I ordered them from so I give David the vin number.. then he told me we never ordered them and i asked why not and told me his boss told him not to.. I really dont know why David didnt call me and tell a reason why they couldnt order them.... instead of waiting for me call and check on the parts.. that was unprofessionally!!!! So we will no longer be ordering parts from them anymore.....

The service itself was fine. I was extremely dissatisfied with the amount of time it took, and the lack of warning about how long it would take. I made my appointment and the person I spoke with on the phone said it would take less than a day, and when I went to drop my vehicle off, it wasn’t until then that the service representative told me it could take up to 4 days because they were “behind.” I did not like not having the notice to make arrangements. Also, they claimed not to have any loaner cars and I had to pay out of my own pocket for a rental.

When picking up Kevin was busy, and everyone else seemed to put me on ignore. Finally was asked if I’d been helped, I answered no that person instructed an advisor that had been sitting at his station to help me. During this time (probably 5 minutes) Kevin became available and finished me up. Might be a little more proactive about taking care of customers standing around for 5 minutes. If nothing else just ask them if they’ve been helped!

They total dropped the ball... bought a 2016 dodge hellcat...it wasnt detailed... engine bay was dirty...the tires were gone ... didnt even match the brands... mismatched thread..the car at 70 mph steering shakes...to top it the told me that it was already inspected...its will never buy anything from there...also will make a report to better business bureau.. and to CARFAX.. because it could ruin CARFAX reputation...also reported it to my financial institution to see what we can do to make it right.......When the general manager of sales found out about it..he was awesome 😎👍 ...he refunded my expenses for the new tires and also pay for my Life time alignment at Firestone tires centers ..so will definitely will buy another vehicle from gene messer...we all makes mistakes but it takes an awesome 😎 business that really cares for his customers..to make sure you are happy with your deal... I highly recommend it to anyone in the market for a pre-owned or a new car
Took Tahoe in because it was having dashboard issues saying role windows up and down, etc. they weren’t able to duplicate which is fine but they had the car for a week and never called. I had to call them twice to ask about the vehicle. Then they said the battery was small, so I bought the correct size. They said it’d be ready at 5:30pm since I called that morning. I call at 5:00pm and they said it would’ve be ready till next day at 10:00-11:00am. How does it take a day and a half to put a batter in?! The biggest reason for the 1 star is I don’t believe the customer should have to call to find out if they figured out the problem. The dealership should be calling to say they could or couldn’t duplicate/find the issue.

I was just looking for a possible car to buy. I was pre-approved with capital one. I found a great deal on the website. When I messaged about the car I was contacted by Lyle. He was very friendly. He actually got me the loan through Wells Fargo for a better finance charge. I was able to do most of it through email. I went and looked at the car and had all papers signed in under an hour.

This is our 4th time getting an oil change at the dealership. Have had no issues of any sort. The next day I notice that their was an oil stain on the driveway. We took it back to the dealership to have it checked out. Checked it out and said it was just run off which makes no sense to me. I pay a lot on my vehicle for a dealership not to clean up their mess.
My daughter attends Texas Tech and her car is crucial for her to get to work and school. Your foreman, Jack, got her car taken care of quickly and efficiently. Very happy with his customer service.
I sent my son to automotive department to check why his engine light was on. An appointment was made over the phone last week by me since I live out of town. They tell him they can’t even look at his car even though I was told he could wait while they looked at it. They turn off the engine light and tell him he can bring it back Monday and wait for it to be fixed. He gets there early today and they tell him they can’t even look at it for 3 more days. Every story is different. Appointments Do Not Matter. I told him to take it somewhere else that actually cares about their customers and will give a young adult the time of day. Don’t waste your time with their confusion and lack of customer service. They clear the codes so it’s harder to take it somewhere else to get diagnostics. They don’t even ASK first. I wouldn’t even consider getting an oil change there.Took it to Christian Brothers in Lubbock. They had it diagnosed while he waited and will have it done by 9:30 AM tomorrow. It wasn’t even the same diagnosis that Gene Messer gave. Pathetic.
Great price on an oil/filter and tire rotation service. Very friendly staff. The only negative is that they rotated the tires without adjusting the air pressure front to back. On my 2019 GMC 3500HD the rear tire pressure is supposed to be 80 psi but they were only 65-70 psi and the front tire pressure is supposed to be 60 psi but they were 75-78 psi after rotation. Had to stop at Discount Tire to get the rear tires filled to the correct pressure of 80 psi. Im glad I double checked this as Im pulling a 14K pound 5th wheel across the country and I would have experienced excessive tire wear with the low tire pressure.
My check engine light came on so I dropped my truck off and was told I would hear back in 4-5 days. After over a week of waiting I called to get an update only to be told they had no record of my truck ever being there and that they would call me back promptly with more information. I never got a call back so I had to drive to the dealership to get someone to go look for my truck. When they located it the service assistant helping me laughed about how they never would’ve known it was there if I hadn’t have come in. They “bumped me to the top of the list” and said I would hear back the next day. After two more days I heard nothing and had to once again go to the dealership to find out they had finished up with my truck the previous day and “had no idea” why I had not gotten a call or update. If I could give a zero star review I would. Worst service I’ve ever experienced.
Thank you for in foreseen the masks even though our governor does not. I feel to safe and taken care of. The technician was professional and kind. I witnessed patience with high maintenance people...I really dont know how they do this day in and day out!
This here is a circus run by a bunch of clowns, especially the GM. Shop foreman was very unprofessional. On several occasions, he put his finger in my face because I disagreed with him. Tried telling me putting bigger rims and tires on brand new truck voids warranty, but they have trucks on lot for sale with aftermarket rims and tires. Trashy place.
