A few days ago I went to River City Firearms to get myself a new pistol, and to be honest I didnt really know what I was looking for at all other than what my budget was and the caliber I was interested in. The staff here are very knowledgeable and very easy to talk to, and everyone would do well to shop here instead of somewhere else, but especially if youre a first-time gun buyer or someone without a ton of experience, this is without a doubt the place you should check out. They definitely did set me up with a pistol that was absolutely PERFECT for what Im planning to use it for. I just moved into town within the past few months and these reviews were instrumental in helping me choose what was going to be my new local gun shop. Im so, so, so, so, so, so, SO glad that I decided to go to River City Firearms, and the next time youre in the market for anything at all firearm related, you will be too if you decide to shop here!!! This is the best gun store in Louisville.Cheapest online transfer fees Ive seen.And for some reason people in the firearms business think they have permission to be an A-hole... Not here!They do the Lords work helping first time gun owners and first time gun buyers make the most informed decision. Their friendly nature contributes to the second amendment cause, introducing more people into firearms.I hope they stick around for a very very long time.

Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Great prices! They always have deals going. I got a rock island m5 came with a lifetime warranty. About a year after purchasing had an internal component break. I called the shop to see if I could ship from there not wanting to use FedEx to send to the manufacture for warranty purposes. River City asked the make and model and informed me they could just do a swap. I walked in with my broken M5 filled out a transfer and walked out with a brand new still sealed M5 15 minutes later. Excellent service.

A small store with decent inventory as far as firearms go but they lack accessories if you are looking to buy parts for a firearm or to build an AR this is not the shop for youbut if you are looking to purchase a firearm from a knowledgeable staff who are friendly and helpful this will be a great fit

Probably the best small gun store i have visited. They have a big selection of firearms of all types and fair pricing. Sold a couple guns to them they gave me good prices and staff is very friendly and polite. Definitely my favorite gun store in Louisville.

These guys were really nice and very informed. I hate when you go to a gun store and if you do not know every single thing about every single gun ever made they treat you like an idiot - River City treats you with respect and because they are so nice and because their prices are so cheap you want to go back to them again and again. I used to trek all the way out to Bardstown, now every time I need something I just buzz over to River City on Preston. I would HIGHLY recommend River City Firearms!!!!

I would highly recommend this store, in my opinion the best kept secret in Louisville as far as gun stores go, price wise and service wise. I wouldnt waste your time anywhere else.I was in the market for a concealed carry 9mm, had a brand in mind but wanted to see it 1st. Came in asked to see a Nano, they got it out and I looked it over and asked their opinion, he was upfront and honest recommended the Shield as well as the XDS, I looked them both over and saw immediately what they liked about each, I decided on the Shield and bought it, its a fantastic pistol.My point is this, of course they could of sold me the Nano which was more expensive, but they actually had a genuine interest in giving me the weapon Id be the most happy/comfortable with. That speaks volumes for whom they are as a business, an intangible value in my opinion I call integrity...

They are nice and respectful but their bullets and accessories are crazy expensive. For a box of Magtech 9mm is $21.00. Last time I bought a box of those was $9.39 at Ky Gun Co. I realize theyre are a smaller store and buy less but all of their bullets was double the price. Im all about supporting small businesses but paying double is not what Im into. Magpul Pmag is $20. Its a $15.99 mag.
