I usually get the female cashier and she is very friendly but I was in there today and the guy did not say one word to me! He didnt say hi, give me my total or acknowledge that the transaction was over. I left feeling a little confused. they also do not have shopping carts so if you need to do much shopping probably should go somewhere else.

I was in there a couple weeks ago. They need to work on getting their stock off the floor and on the shelves. A lot of the shelves were empty, and most of the aisles were blocked with stock in boxes on the floor that needed to be shelved. The employees were pretty friendly though. Thats why I gave them 3 stars instead of two.

They never have what Im looking for and the store is always trashy looking. It was actually a last resort for me because nothing ever changes. Its like a bad relationship just when you think its ok to go back you do and you end up regretting it.

What’s the point of shelves when these stores usually leave the stock all in the aisles it’s almost like since this store is in a poor area. No one is supposed to care. It comes off like the higher ups don’t care as long as people spend money they actually don’t care about your experience. Like we should be lucky but actually the neighborhood should expect more.

Some of the staff could really use a refresher course in customer service. I have never encountered so many rude people in my life. I pride myself on treating others the way I would have them treat me so I can never comprehend why these people are so rude. There are a few nice people. However, the rude people ruin the entire experience.

This place has been closed with no notice Everytime I have went up there in the last couple of weeks. Assuming their shut down.... dont know but would be nice if updated so when one looked online thinks theyre open when should be updated temporarily or permanently closed!

The place looks nicer than it used to but everytime I go in there the kid that is at the right counter when you first walkin around the afternoons, slams my groceries down in the bag and on the counter every single time I go in there.

My neighbor shopped at this location today, 14 March 2020. He placed payment for his purchase on the check out counter top. The store manager---not even the cashier----- became upset that he did not place payment directly into the cashiers hand. Even in normal times it is awkward to place coin and bills into someones hand as coins easily slip out of grip. My friend suggested that we are not supposed to touch one another due to the current health crisis. The manager replied that he was rude and need not shop there in the future. My friend has lived in Old Louisville for many, many decades and has been a frequent (weekly) customer of this business. I think he will probably not return to this business. I know I will also stay out of this business.Also, this site requires that you select some number of stars in order to post your comments. One star is selected but this is one star too many!

NEVER open anymore when it says it should be.

Place was some what of a mess when I was in there this morning. Some of the shelves were either empty or close to it. There were boxes in a bunch of the aisles where someone was apparently stocking and got up and left them there. Employees were pretty friendly and the wait in the line was short. Great place to look for good deals on things you need. Wanting to update this. I was in there yesterday. One of their cashier was very rude and refuse to check me out.

It was messy and their stock room isnt organized. I would have labeled everything and made a area for replenish and a area for new arrivals.Hard to find things and product carts in almost every aisle

Tight, cluttered, stock in the isles and NO BASKCARTS for customers to roll their selections for purchase in.

Would receive 5 but the store had so much stuff everywhere from their new merchandise which should be well more organized when you have customers with baskets throughout the store with no way to get around those carts with new stock on them everywhere. On the bright side the service was nice the people welcome you and have nice manners.

Dont go here!! I am never going back and neither should you.Here is what happened today that has made me decide to stop going to Family Dollar. One of the employees told me I had to leave my backpack at the front after I had, which I have never had to do before when Ive walked in with it multiple times before. I had a lot of issues with this. First I didnt bring it in to steal - I ride my bike to and from work so I use a backpack and have a laptop and other important stuff in there. Also its ok for women to walk around with bags and purses why cant I have my backpack? I wasnt comfortable taking it to the front and leaving it with people I dont know at all but I walked toward the front anyway. However when I did walk to the front the woman at the counter saw me and just said im not open and walked away before I could say anything. I had to call out and ask for help at this point because it seemed like no one was working the registers at the front and the guy who said I needed to take my bag to front was walking away too. At this point I just decided to pay and leave when someone finally arrived at the check out counter.Overall this place is very unorganized, the people are rude, and they treat everyone coming into the store as a thief. After my experience today I probably wont be stopping in on my way home anymore. The slightly lower prices on some products just arent worth the terrible customer service and being treated like a criminal.

This store has paper sign listing it opens at 11 A.M. just like liquor store. Guess they cant get business in morning without liquor store being open

It was a really good shopping experience! Usually were used to ugly sour faces. Here everybody was real, not user-friendly but cordial......like I said real. Go here.

This store is often understaffed. Its messy, but its the kind of messy that comes from being extremely busy and having too few employees. However, those employees are extremely helpful and do their best to make the shopping experience as convenient and pleasant as possible.

Its family dollar. Its great for basic needs. Quick run ins and outs. Odds and ends.

A local store for economical shopping. I just got a new apartment and I needed lots of things - good prices and good selection. Plus, I can walk since I live downtown and there aint much of a choice where I live. So, just shop here!

Horrible experience... I bought a helium balloon in a package and when I paid for it I asked the lady working the register to fill in and she said No we dont do that.. so as I was walking out I seen a helium tank. I said is yalls helium tank out? She said No rudely. So I said can you get someone up here. Then the was going to charge me for the helium to fill a balloon I just purchased in their store. Well they filled it and then said we dont put string on it you have to buy that also. What is going on? And they REALLY need a class on how to not be rude!

Just left this place and both of the cashiers were high on drugs at work. The female cashier wouldnt check me out and made comments as to not wanting to working any longer due to her very eventful day. Apparently this lower level job is too much for her. Ive been shopping and found mold in the fridge twice and managers play security gaurding the doors which is appalling for a daily shopper. Bad additudes and souring foods its time I called corporate they need a completely new staff.

Convenient when needing to purchase something on the fly but the wait makes it time consuming. Customer service has always been good, nothing beats extending a greeting/smile to a person as you would expect from them. Only issue, which is major for me is the requirement to leave backpacks/bags at front counter while shopping. Understandable due to the area and propensity for shoplifting. But considering my backpack often contains a laptop and other expensive tech items, I am not going to leave it at the front counter just so I can purchase some cheap dollar items?!?! Plus dealing with the panhandling at entrance/exit is tiresome. But if I have extra money, I always give, because I dont know that persons situation and I would want the same courtesy extended if I ever found myself in need.

Employees are rude, vulgar, and inappropriately dressed. Store is filthy. Every time Ive been in there, the employees are having conversations about who they want to #$%& tonight. When I get to the register they act like it is too much trouble for them to do their job. Worst family dollar ever.

I wanted to use my debit card to make a purchase and get money back from it (this past Friday evening) and I asked the female clerk if I could get money from my debit card. She said it depends on how much you want back. She said you can get $10 or $25 back and I said I wanted $20. She became very rude and smart to me, although I was not to her. She didnt tell me that Id be charged something like $1.20 to get cash back on my debit card, as I was. I think its ridiculous Family Dollar charges that much, and the clerk should have told me this (which she didnt) when I asked about getting cash from my debit card. I think this woman shouldnt be working with the public with her sour attitude and total lack of good customer service, but working away from people.

Management part of the problem not the solution. Difficult to stand in line with 100 worth of merchandise and listen to employees talk about who they want to #&#. Tonight. Cannot take carts outside to load your car so keep purchases to one bag because if you have to walk away from anything it wont be there when you return

It is the most ghetto place I have ever been in!!!! The store is not clean, the staff is rude, thieves are always on site,not to mention the crack heads and beggars. Its a real problem for this beautiful and historic area in which it is located.

I live right around the corner from this Family Dollar so I go there a lot for small stuff. Did you know they were robbed last Friday? It was probably just a regular customer who didnt want to wait in that long ass line they always have. Ive never been to another Family Dollar where employees are aloud to wear street clothes and play loud music at the register. This store is always filthy and they never have anything stocked. This is probably the worst store Ive ever been to period. I would suggest going there unless youve been there before and know what your getting into.

I expected a hectic Friday evening at this location, but it was a breeze. Some of the aisles were a little cluttered. When seeing the line growing, someone immediately opened another register. They even allowed the cart to be taken outside to the car trunk. And, unlike other Family Dollars, EVERYTHING HAS PRICES! WHAT???!!!

They hired a new cashier that will only speak to the black people. I have had many encouters and watching her as I stand in line. Rude and hateful to all white people but shell talk it up with others. They have stopped stocking milk completely and we depend on it since Kroger moved.

Bad. I either get panhandled or sexually harassed every....single...time Ive been. And this is before I even get to the door. Cashiers are usually standing and having personal conversations with each other instead of checking out people. One time I waited over 15 minutes while they scratched off lottery tickets. Today I waited at the register with my items on the counter, waiting for them to finish their conversation, only to be finally told oh...this register aint open. I had to actually ask if it was open..even though they saw me standing there.... FOREVER. Hate the place...

Its usually a mess and the shelves are nearly bare. Staff is nice but obviously overworked.

I bought a pair of headphones for ten bucks and they didnt work.. though I was remembered I was told I couldnt get my money back and I could only do exchange for the same item. So I lost out on headphones and money... But maybe its my fault for wanting to listen to music

In a month time was approached 2 time and by two different employees accusing me of shop lifting was insulated and had to empty my pockets to prove I wasnt. Wont be shopping at this store anymore.

Regardless of business or not you do not close down before the hours you have posted on your front door. If its closed mark it as such. Waste of trip.

I wanted this to be a neighborhood favorite. Unfortunately, an employee took it upon themselves to discipline me in front of other patrons and tried to humiliate me because my card was declined. Not a positive experience. No hospitality or customer service. It’s disappointing.

The parking lot is trashy. Inside the store is usually dirty and seemingly understaffed. Boxes of stock block access to merchandise on shelves.
