My oldest daughter had picked out this restaurant on tonight for us to go visit. We decided to stop in and see if we liked it like she does. She, I, and my younger daughter went and we all had a blast. The food portions was wonderful and well worth your money. The food tasted great and we all left with smiles. The service from the time we walked in to the time we left was phenomenal.My daughter goes there so often that she knew the manager and practically all the workers. No wonder she is steadily gaining weight.Jeeze!!I must say she was definitely right about her selection and picking House of pies. The food again I say it was so so delicious.I Will go back with the hubby and maybe my mom or siblings. Who knows??Boy this is the place to go if youre a local or visiting go check out house of pies.

Great food and fast service. I got the Belgium waffles with blueberries and a side of sunny side up egg with orange juice. My mate got the chicken fried steak with chili hashbrowns and two eggs with orange juice. Recommend this place! Also check out their pies. I got the banana cream pie 😋 👍🏻

The food was delicious some items needed a little salt, but that’s expected.The Bayou cheeseburger, fried shrimp po’Boy, club breakfast (French toast bacon and eggs) cherry pie, vanilla milkshake, chicken fingers, onion rings, fries, cookies to go; oatmeal pecan, chocolate chip pecan, Mexican rock, and the macaroons were the items we partook in.Unfortunately the one item that drew me to this place the banana split was not available due to the ice cream being too soft.Greg and the female employee gave us suggestions for places to visit while in Town…. Very helpful. We were very satisfied with this experience THANK YOU!

Lady on the entrance before sitting was rude, once seated she came over to the table to complain about my autistic nephew, she showed no empathy whatsoever and was completely rude.Server was excellent and food was great, but the person previously mentioned just made our visit not pleasant at all.

Wow I am so glad I finally stopped in and tried it. We got a 6 different pies/cheesecake slices to go and everything was extremely good. The staff there was also super friendly and kind. Even helped me find some other desserts I was looking for that they didnt make. I cant wait to go back and next time want to try their breakfast.

We enjoyed a waffle breakfast and BLT. Food was good. Waffle was super crispy However, it was very crowded so we sat on the patio. Im not sure if it was our location or short staffing, but it took a very long time for us to put our order it, food appeared delayed, we never got refills on our drinks, and no one ever checked in after our food was served and bill left at the same time. It was an odd experience.

This has been my go to for pies for over 25yrs! When EVER Im back home, I must come here and get my Bayou Goo! Definitely a Houston Treasure for cakes and pies. What you get in the size and the taste for their pies, is definitely worth every penny. They are incredibly delicious and Kirby is the only place I go. 5 🌟 every time!

I came here for the pies and stayed for lunch. I showed up on Friday to pick up two pies for a birthday party and saw there was a fried fish lunch special. So I just decided to stay for lunch. The lunch special comes with your choice of soup or salad, I had the clam chowder, one filet fried fish in a cornmeal batter, corn and mashed potatoes. The waitress at the counter was great, but the entree took over 25 minutes to come out after ordering. They were busy with the lunch crowd but I didnt think it would take that long. I actually ordered a slice of pie to eat because I was so hungry and there was so much time between when I had the soup and the entree coming out. I left very full and happy... albeit a much longer lunch break then planned.The pies here are absolutely delicious. My favorites are the strawberry cheesecake, the bayou goo, and Texas pecan.

Who doesn’t love a good pie. We went there just for dessert. I have to knock off a star because the restrooms really smelled. And the coffee was not as flavorful as I would have preferred.

My favorite place for comfort food! Our food was delicious. The Regency club is my favorite! I always ask them to warm up the turkey before putting it in because I love warm sandwiches more than cold. The french fries are always yummy! I recommend getting chili cheese on them, SO good.. We were talking to our waiter about if the strawberry and rhubarb pie was any good and he ended up bringing us a free slice to try. Such a sweet man! I believe his name was Greg. The blueberry pie is by far my favorite and my boyfriend loves the Dutch apple pie. We highly recommend this place! Place was clean and everybody was polite.

House of Pies on Kirby is always busy but usually has room at the bar if you just cannot wait. Obviously great pies and breakfast is pretty good with large portions. Bottomless coffee.

Absolutely delicious, highly recommend this place for just about everybody. Everything on the menu is immaculate, I literally can find no issues with this restaurant. Prices are incredible considering its a very nice restaurant chain located in a large metro area. Pies and sandwiches in particular are a must have here.

Nothing elaborate breakfast but good..... We thought the corned beef hash breakfast would be home styled but was the canned kind..... shouldve asked..but still good enough...... The herb bread toast was a treat better than plain old white.......the whole hog sausage patties were small....a little dry but crispy and some good flavor..... Over medium eggs were served under over easy and a tad runny hence the 4 stars instead of five...we didnt want to send back and wait..... Really great waitress Tina with the never ending coffee pot whose service was PERFECT....... Thank you Tina for your heart warming smile and help picking out the carrot pecan cake with me.

Had tried their pies recently for the first time and liked it a lot, so stopped by to try some different flavors and pick up some slices of pie to go. Service was great: they asked if we wanted utensils with my order so we decided to try the pies at a nearby park, and they were delicious. Want to come back again soon!

My husband bought me an apple pie for my birthday from here and Im so ashamed I ate so much of it, but it was really that good. The apple filling was the right consistency but the crust! Omg the crust was my favorite part! The crust was the right amount of light and fluffy, buttery and crisp, it reminded me of my late grandmothers pies she used to bake when I was a child. The service is friendly and the atmosphere seems very cozy. I cant wait to return and try more from the menu, well be back soon!

Good pies!...We were in Houston visiting friends and found this place on Google. So glad we found it, because we enjoyed not only the pies but our waiter had an AWESOME personality!!...I didnt get his name, but he made us feel welcome and made us laugh!! I would definitely come here again when in town.

Of the multiple locations in the Houston area this is the one that I will drive to always. The wait staff is very kind and courteous and the food is always awesome. Its definitely a historical place in Houston. Several major business deals were made at this location. Ask your waiter theyll tell you more.

This place was a gem stone. It came with high expectations and they were met. The food was delicious, the meals were great portions, and the desserts were even better.

Each time I come I tend to have an overall positive experience. The plates are reasonably priced and the menu has a huge selection. The star of the show is of course the pie, however the rest of the menu is just as good. Id recommend the Potatoes OBrien on the side, as well as the biscuits. Even then my choice tends to be hard, as the muffins and hash browns are arguably just as good. My only complaint has been the inconsistency of the wait staff. Ive had great waiters to mediocre; though thankfully, none too bad to drive me mad.

Delicious pie as always. Had to get the Bayou Gue even though I shouldnt have! So many delicious choices. Wife got the buttermilk pie and it was tasty as well.

We love House of Pies. Its quirky throwback diner that always has comfort food ready to go. Dont come if youre on a diet - you really need to get some pie. A whole piece. All to yourself.

Don’t go when they are changing shifts. The off-going server doesn’t really want to wait on you because they are about to get off and the oncoming doesn’t either because (I guess) the off-going is the one getting tipped. First, there were ants in the creamer and when I asked for new creamer, never got it. I asked on-coming for more coffee and was ignored. Manager also ignored me. I still tipped cause it’s the right thing to do. This was at Kirby. I’ll only go to Westheimer from now on. They are much nicer! Service isn’t what it used to be!

The breakfast was fulfilling and the atmosphere was fantastic. The manager had a short staff after tropical storm Nicholas and he even went to kitchen to help prepare meals. Awesome

In my opinion, House of Pies has the best bacon cheeseburger in Houston. The sweet potato fries makes it a complete and must have meal. If youre not in the mood for a burger, their salads are delicious as well. The service is also A1.

I was super excited as it was my first time and Ive heard great things about it. I let our waitress know it was my first time and things started off okay. I ordered biscuits and gravy which honestly tasted a day old and the biscuits were rough and dry. But thats what I just started out with and was still staying positive. I ordered the rib eye steak which tasted good and was cooked well but very fatty, with a baked potato with toppings on the side and corn. I mean how can you mess up corn is my thing? Its just corn. She also forgot to bring my toppings, so I had to wait for that. I was looking forward to trying one of the famous slices of pies with cup of coffee to see if things could possibly turn around but nope. She hardly came to check on us an I waited and waited for her to come and by that point I was over it. I ended up getting up and just paying for the check at the counter. If this was a review just for pies, Id give it a perfect 5 stars but being that its a review for House of Pies, imma have to be truthful and say they need to step their food game up. I had the bacon egg and cheese omelet with hashbrowns, lackluster. When I finished off with the dessert, I asked if they had a peach cobbler and was informed they didnt but what they did (which was awesome), they made it to where it was almost as if they served peach cobbler.Originally at the start of this review, I had it at 3 stars but re evaluated it and will give it a 4 star. If 3.8 were a thing, thats the honest rating Id give it.

This is a great old fashioned dinner. The service and food are great! The best part is the opportunity to get one of the many pies, cakes or cookies they make daily! When in Houston you have to stop in!

The food is at the Kirby location is always consistent in taste, quality and quantity. The pies are incredible and so many to choose from! I think sometimes ratings are given by how good the experience was and that could include the people we dine with... good conversations and good friends always equals better ratings! One of our favorite place to visit. Service is awesome!Family routine after we pick up our kids from airport. They always want to eat and take a bunch of pies home after.Our favorite are the Coconut cream pie, Apple pie, Blueberry pie, Pecan and pecan fudge pie. We usually eat one right away and keep a few in the freezer for later. Delicious :)

This place was awesome. Just when I had given up hope on eating out and getting food worth paying for we find House of Pies! The food was perfect. The Burgers had the best flavor, the fries were cooked perfect, everything was fresh. My only complaint was the drinks had a soapy taste to them like they aren’t rinsed out well enough. Overall I give this place 👍👍 and would return here in a heartbeat if I’m in the area again!

Omg if you like pie this place is absolute Heaven! The largest selection of pies available that Ive ever seen in one place it a time! I got 2 pieces to go - Blueberry & Egg & Custard- both were amazing! There breakfast was good, hot, came out quickly, and the service was good as they were well staffed. I highly recommend House if Pies for breakfast lunch or dinner or just dessert. In addition to dozens of different kinds of pie, their menu also includes cakes and other various desserts.

Some of my family had been talking about this place so I had to try it. And lets just say it didnt disappoint! I had breakfast which was excellent, especially the biscuits & gravy. Then took a slice of Dutch apple pie for later. Later came sooner than I thought because the smell was amazing!

Came in with my friends and sat at the bar and proceeded to order my food and the waitress told me I could not substitute my eggs for hash browns. Now I’ve been going to the Westheimer location for years and never had this problem. I explained that to the server she already insisted her manager would say no and that they don’t do that. The Asian manager then comes over and I explain the problem and he said no and that HE asked the OWNER and the owner also said no? After that, I told him I wouldn’t eat there and we left. We went to the WESTHEIMER location and it was no problems! Great customer service! The server said that both locations share the same owner so that leads me to think the manager at Kirby just doesn’t want people to have substitutes as the man sitting next to us said they would not let him substitute either. This was my first time at the Kirby location after years of being a regular at the Westheimer location and I’m glad I did not spend a dime there and went to the other location with great customer service as always!

Great place for dinner, pies are excellent, loved the pumpkin specialty with ice cream and a cup of coffee. The Monterrey Steak was good! Service was kind of slow but it was Christmas eve and everything else is closed.

Food was terrible and management was worse! Do not recommend going to House of Pies! I ordered over $50 worth of food and didnt eat it, when asked if there was anything that could be done management said no. I ordered 2 pies and only 1 came. Steak was overcooked, chicken was underwhelming at best, grits were like soup, cheesecake tastes if it was a no-bake cheesecake and not from scratch and was crumbly. Waste of time and money.

After going to Discovery Green Park, We decided to go get a Delicious Sandwich and Dessert. My partner and I got a Montecristo Sandwich. Our nephews got a kids menu item each. Then we enjoyed two slices of Strawberry Cream Pie and Chocolate Cream Pie. The attention was acceptable. The only thing I did not enjoy was the noisy environment.

A Houston institution that has taken me from late night hot chocolate hangs to post club breakfasts in the wee hours to mid afternoon brunches with old friends to bringing my little one to pick out his own pie.

I love the decor of the interior. Very diner-y lol. The food was a little big on serving size for me personally, but it was delicious. The pie slice I got to take home was pretty big as well. Recommended if youre suddenly craving that type of food/pies.

Having a great time at the House of Pie on Kirby with the Family. I had ordered a Banana Cream pie and it was very delicious. It taste even better, once you tasted the bannana. My daughter ordered a New York Cheese Cake and that was also very good. The cheese cake was creamy, just perfect. The Wife ordered Lemon Meringue. At first bite, it was very good but I didnt like the after taste.

My wife and I went to this House of Pies location at 11:00 on a Wednesday night. We waited an hour to get our food. This location stays very, very busy. One of the cooks had called in and they were doing their best to take care of their customers.I ordered a cheeseburger with sweet potato fries and had a Bayou Goo slice of pie. Everything tasted amazing! The sweet potato fries were on point. My only bad experience was the waiting time and the bathroom smelled a little strong from some open construction underneath the sink. My expectations were fairly high because this is a well known eatery in Houston.I wouldnt mind going again, but not for a lunch break.

Talk about a huge sugar high..That would be fun. Wow! However there is one major issue here. I had 2 baby ROACHES crawl on my table. The management needs to have the facility exterminated and fast. Or this turns into a major infestation, if it hasnt already reached that point. It leaves one to wonder about the kitchen and nack areas of the restaurant. If this wasnt a problem then of course Id give it a 5 star.
