This bookshop is quaint, with several skinny aisles to get lost in. Not just books!! Scripts, posters, postcards, autographed biographies…. I love the books I found with history of Hollywood and LA.

The only reasons I didn’t give it a “5” is 1) its been a while since I’ve been there and 2) I never DID like parking around there. But if you are actually interested in Hollywood and it’s native “industry” (I.e. the real, serious side of making movies, motion pictures and television production), it’s THE BEST place EVER for finding old scripts etc. Sure it looks a little dog eared and “frowsy” but that just part of its charm. Plus they trying, I guess, to fit in with the neighborhood maybe! Some neighborhood! Wow!

This place is my go to for Hollywood memorabilia. Movie scripts, posters, books galore and anything in between, they have it or can usually find it for you. Always a fun time and Jeff, the owner, has plenty of cool stories to share too. Stop by and say Hi !

Clearly we all love this place. There is not much to say.... I just called to say I love you. Its open late. So sometimes when I am doing the Richmond pub-crawl I gaze into the store and secretly wish I was in comfy jeans and a hoody discovering a new book instead.

This place is awesome. It is well laid out and has an incredible collection and selection. Its an independent book store, so it has a soul unlike the numerous borders scattered through the city, but its not pretentious. Also, most book stores owners seem to be a little crazy, but the guys who work behind the counter here are friendly and approachable. Go to browse, go to buy.

Larry Edmunds Bookshop is a neat place with a rich selection and - a big plus for a used bookstore - plenty of turnover. Im a big fan of their sidewalk sale, their calendar selection, and their ample supply of discountered remainder books. The staff is friendly and helpful as well. Always worth a stop when you find yourself on Valencia.

Fun place! A must for any film lover. They have SO many scripts from classic films, as well as the latest releases. They also have many film-related books, as well as posters. The owner was very helpful and willing to chat about films and directors. Recommend you to go if youre around Hollywood Blvd and you appreciate films.

I love local bookstores. I love them even more when they are open until 10pm!!! I stopped in here after dinner with a friend and completely fell in love with several books. It is smallish but there is a great selection. I was blown away but the diversity of books there. Bonus....everything was very reasonably priced!

This is a treasure trove for film lovers: the bookshop sells books, posters, photographs. Both new and second-hand merchandise can be found there. The owner is very pleasant and helpful!

This bookshop is a must for lovers of film and film history! It has a huge selection of books, both new and out of print. I always can find a rare book or an exclusive signed copy. The staff is friendly and extremely knowledgeable as well. Truly the perfect shop for film books and posters.

This place is amazing. Ive been in Los Angeles for just one week and Ive been in this bookshop twice, at least one hour each day. Huge amount of second hand and new books on cinema and films. You can buy scripts, too!The store is owned by a very funny guy. He kindly spent some time with me and my girlfriend talking about main Hollywood attractions and stuff.If youre in LA you have to take a look!

I love this place. I hope it never closes. 50 years from now when we are all spending 18 hours a day laying in bed and downloading books directly into our brains, I hope this place is still here, with the same squeaky floor boards, the same wooden shelves stacked with books, and same old scent of pine and paper.

This is the bookstore if you are a gay man in the Chicagoland area. Ive been coming here since I was a teenager (Im now thirty-four), and I remember all the Anne Rice book signings and all the great events that they held (and are still having).

A good bookstore. Large selection of different books,magazines and other things. I like the salesmen here. They are always cheerful and ready to help. Here often buy books to study. But some books are very expensive.

Fun stacks to wander, always find something to read, friendly staff, well stocked magazine rack, and they always have local authors books (directly across from cash register). Plus Im often checking the window for posted local events as I walk by.

Every time I stop by here they have at least two books that I want to buy that I can never find in any other bookstore. Most of the title are in very good condition and reasonably priced.

Larrys has everything you could possibly want concerning film history and those meticulous talents who were responsible . Even the Margaret Herrick Library has purchased many source material here.The owner is also very accomodating.To the owner ...please dont every close!!

I have never actually bought anything here but I do pop in here pretty often. Amazing selection but cramped space. They recently had Hilary Clinton come and sign her book!If the coop is too touristy for you then this might be right up your ally.

For me it’s magic place, there are books and history together! This store was open in 1938, unbelievable. Retro atmosphere, a lot books about Hollywood, stars, movies!!! I was happy today to buy my next book exactly here!!!

Its an okay bookstore! Film fanatics and movie lovers will enjoy this place immensely. Prices are tricky because there is a mix of reduced price items and original price items, and some of the books being sold at the original price have bent covers or are worn a bit. So maybe not a place for value, but a good one for browsing.

Found some interesting stuff here like movie and TV scripts. But the place is very dusty and can use a good clean up.

Excellent source for books, photos, posters, lonby cards from the golden age of Hollywood. Plus their gust lectures and authors in store events are really very good.

My only complaint is that one of the shopkeepers rudely accused me of stealing. It was very surprising because Ive been in the shop before, bought stuff there before. My boyfriend and I had been in the store for about half an hour looking at posters and books, and finally I found the Jurassic Park screenplay (my favorite movie). Having immediately decided to buy it, I sent my best friend a single photo of the single page that had our favorite scene on it as a sort of look what I found!!. The shopkeep just happened to walk by at that moment and he snidely, loudly asked how many pages you gonna copy?!He lost the shop about 75 bucks for that. We were planning on buying two posters, a book on zombie cinema, and the JP screenplay.I understand being protective of your merchandise, and I even understand how the scene mustve looked at first glance, but maybe in the future be a little more careful about loudly hurling accusations at customers.

I have shopped here for some 20 plus years, and I have never been in anyway let down. This place has been here seemingly forever, filled with books you have always wanted,personal stories that delight from the owner, and believe me, if for some reason the script you are looking for is not in stock, he will get it for you, that is for sure.Between Samuel Frenchs Bookstore, which I am loyal to for plays and the manager, all the people who work there, and all the info for professional actors, and the fact they will send for a play if out of print or stock, and Larry Edmonds film scripts and all things film, Los Angeles has wonderful work by the masters and the Inde scene as well.Thank you to Larry Edmonds Books and film scripts for giving actors a place to find and fuel there art. Good shop where you can buy both original and reproductions movie posters and playbills (the prices of the latter, 15 dollars, a bit high considering that it is a laminated color print). There are also books on cinema and scripts for films and TV series
