I love this place I have so many wonderful memories here with my friends and family and its appearance and atmosphere keeps getting better and better with life I wish it the best health ever!!!

Not that much different than the Black Boar bar before it.A nice drink selection, good taps, surprisingly large can selection for its size and friendly staff.If you can find a place to park near it, I recommend going.

Outside back patio, an iconic mounted boar head staring right back at you when seated at the boar. Dark comfy and and extensive list of cocktails and brews. Its been through 3 incarnations: the Chalet, then the Black Boar and now the Fable. They were all good.

A nice place for a quite drink by a dim light. A great spot for friends to gather, really old school. Great prices for happy hour, fun games and friendly staff.

Formerly known as The Old Chalet this lovely watering hole has changed in name only. Warm and welcoming staff, varied and reasonably drinks and a convivial atmosphere. And dont worry, they still have the legendary Shotski* to impress your friends and embarrass your parents. 😄* (Shotski is in hibernation until after Covid) 🤫🐻💤

Outdoor seating at the moment but it seems like a very chill place. Good drinks and alot of beer to choose from. Close to home so theyll see me more often

One thing leads to another and you find yourself at the Black Boar, sipping a great drink next to entertaining, friendly people listening to the violent femmes. It felt surreal but maybe just another night at the Black Boar. Classic bar. Really friendly and knowledgeable barkeeps.

Amazing selection and recommendations. Straight wizardry going on with the cocktails. COVID times havent dampened the stellar service - Order and pay online, and your libations will be packed and readied, already chilled should that be a requirement. Pop a top, my friends.

I was extremely surprised at how nice this bar was, as I was expecting it to be a real dive. Its pretty large inside with ample seating. It has an overall rustic feel with a taxidermied boars head over the bar, hence the name. The beers were a little pricey, but there was a decent selection and the bartenders were swiftly attentive and friendly. I will definitely be going back here.

I went here frequently when it was The Black Boar. At the beginning of 2018 it changed hands and is now The Old Chalet. It changed slightly in its beer offerings and still has Great service, so the rating stays. The lights seem to be brighter and the music not as loud (thank you)

Thats a very nice pub. I was there a month ago and meet people there. The bartender was friendly and ambience was great.

One of my favorite bars in LA. Chill spot w/ decent happy hour on beer and wine, good cocktails made on the strong side, and a smoking friendly patio in the back. The vibe sits somewhere in between dive and hipster posh. Not pretentious and not trashy either, just a chill neighborhood bar.

Drinks are good. Always have a good drink special. Bartenders fast. Nice dark ambiance with a small patio to enjoy.

I wouldnt consider this a dive bar although it looks like would be. Great place for a whiskey they have tons of options. The drinks are strong and I dont think I ever left here sober

Great spot in Eagle Rock thats like a mix of Bigfoot Lodge and The Griffin. Its a small cozy place thats good to hang out with friends.

The Tuesday bartender is friendly doesnt shy away from concocting something unique. they also had a solid selection of beer.

Back patio, karaoke, shotskis for the wild folks. Its your perfect local dive, filled with chainsmokers on weekdays and tightly packed young people on the weekends. Tip your bartender, play some foosball, and enjoy.

A little more expensive than Im used to but Ive liked the people and the ambiance.

So the place overall is ok. Ive been there about 4 times now and some how get screwed on my tab in form or another. Highly doubt ill go back. I didnt that if I pay with a card I get charged tax but when I pay cash I dont. When the hell should that matter?? And no only have it happened to me a couple of times but apparently im not the only one that has a couple extra drinks charged on my tab. So after after those two things I would rather take the drive over the hill to the to the bars in highland park.

Just started becoming a regular here but unfortunately one of the Female bartenders didnt want to serve me another beer just because I didnt tip and I was about to tip on my third drink and she even said to me clearly yeah let me serve those that tip first really is that professional?
