The owner fit me in on short notice (mid-trip) for some electrical work on my HD. He patched me up, charged me a reasonable price and had me out the door in no time. The ONLY reason for 4/5 stars was due to one of my slip-ons not being tightened down enough on the header pipe and muffler bracket after reinstall. I finally noticed a little more rattle than I’m used to and squared it away later. I would highly recommend these guys if you need work on your scoot. Good people!

After fixing the primary issues with my motorcycle, I was expecting to change my own oil after getting it back. I had my bike returned to me with new filter and oil.The condition I received my bike in was ready to ride, no further work needed.

Weve been going to Hector for about 5 years for both my and my wifes bikes. He has always done a great job for us on our 2010 Street Glide, 2012 Limited, 2019 Road Glide S, and a 750 Honda Shadow. We always get our bikes serviced there but weve also had tires replaced, brakes replaced, new aftermarket parts added, and even electrical work. I have no issue recommending this place every time someone is looking for repair or maintenance.

I was doing a bike shop search on google and this one popup first on the list. I called them up and Hector spent almost 30 minutes talking about how good he was with motorcycles. I decided to fix the bike in his shop. I took the bike on Wednesday and patiently waited for a week for a diagnostic. Tuesday of the following week, Hector called me and told me that the issue with the bike was the stator. Since his repair method is the old traditional way ( process of elimination) I suggested to try with a used stator. I don’t know if that triggered him but he told me that he use new parts and if I decided to put a used one he will charge for labor regardless... At this point I’m confused. I told him that money is not an issue and I reaffirmed that I will pay him whatever amount I owe; I gave him the ok to order the part. A week later I called to check the status and they told me that they have no idea why the part has not arrived yet. 5 minutes later I received a call from Hector and told me that the reason they have not received the part yet it’s because they have to send mine first as a core in order to receive the new one. I’m far way from confused now.... I asked him a couple of questions and he snap and told me is nothing he can do and if I don’t like it, I can take my bike to another shop. WOW. I gave him the ok to install the part, but as soon as he was done I’ll go a pick up the bike. A week later I called to check the status and Hector told me that the bike still doesn’t run and they will have to replace the computer. I told him: no worries I’ll be there in an hour to pick up my bike. $100 waisted for a wrong diagnostic.

I was recommended to this place by a coworker. After trying around a couple of other shops I stopped in. I wish I just came here first it would have saved me some time. Hector gave me a very good price on some tires for my fatboy and even though he was swamped with work still had my bike to me very fast. Go check him out if you want a mechanic that does quality work and doesnt rip you off. Hes got my future business. Strongly recommend this shop!

Expensive as hell . Any other shop charges almost half there prices . I stopped in expecting 25$ and it was almost 100$ for something simple

I moved to the Longwood area and needed a new motorcycle mechanic. I happened to drive by Independent Motorcycle Repair and met Hector. No need to stop anywhere else. Hector is an honest businessman, a very knowledgeable and capable mechanic, and has become a life-long friend. I was a single woman in a new state and didnt know who I could trust. I am so thankful I happened upon him. Hes been taking care of my bike since 2013 and I recommend him very highly.

Ive been bringing my 04 Roadking here for the last 5 yrs!Hector has done everything from oil & tire changes, changing the cam chain tensioners and engine bearings. Just recently I have had Hector change out my stator, voltage regulator, starter, add complete belt drive system.At 120k miles so far, and still runs great!

If youre looking for a mc mechanic, you wont find a more reasonable, honest dude than Hector.

Came in for a valve adjustment on my 05 fjr 1300, I got an answer on the phone 1/4 times I called, I was told I needed my cam chain tensioner adjusted/replaced, said that was making the extra noise in high rpm. He ordered one for me, cool. I got my bike a week later with a super tight throttle and idleing 200rpm too low, and I was hearing a rattle. They left my heat guards on the engine off aswell, was hot as hell to drive. Rpm started getting jumpy as well, I took it back in cuase he suggested the clutch ball bearing was the new culprit. It was replaced but I was told the original was alright in the first place. The original price for just the valves sounded great but now im spending just as much as if id gone to yamaha without the profesionalism. Its a shame the people who say they are profesional, I watched him drive off with my bike and hit like 70+ in a 25mph backstreet. Not profesional. When I got home to reinstall the heat guards I noticed the tanks screw could be turned with just my fingers, he did add a few screws that where missing in random spots but left out several of the screws to the parts he was working on. weeks later im dealing with idle problems rpms just going up to 3k and down to 900 then 700 and shutting off, not safe. On top of that my throttle cable came loose in traffic, it wasnt tightened all the way like the tank and a few other things, so I pulled out in traffic and suddenly only had half my throttle. Not safe. Now im back with my neighborhood mechanic who tells me he used to work down the street from independent cycles and everyone said similar things about him fudging up valve adjustment. My guy readjusted the cam chain tensioner and bam bike is instantly idleing better and the rattle has gone away. Just my honest review, hes probably a great cheap option for simple fixes. But I will never bring my buisness back there. Been a extremely aggravating couple months driving like this and it really pisses me off I paid him to piss me off.

One of the few reviews I wish there were more stars to give him. The Harley dealership would have changed me 3 times what I was charged and it has never run better!!!!
