Fun breakfast spot with lots of good options. You have to arrive early as did many people to get a table! They have both indoor and outdoor dining! They served flavored coffee which was excellent and the servers kept the mugs topped off! I enjoyed the breakfast burrito! I went there twice while I was in the area!
In an effort to spread my wings a little I have been trying all the nearby breakfast offerings, but nothing has compared to Rusty Pelican. Their food is absolutely delicious and the service is always spot on. I love the chicken fried steak or breakfast burrito and my husband is faithful to their lemon curd crepes. I have given up being adventurous and we now just have our weekly breakfast date here.
Greeting, my service was terrible!!!!!!!!From the hostess to the server. I was patient since I waited more than an hour to be seated, I was understanding since it was Sunday midday. Those factors was were taken into consideration, yet the hostess stating” I had 5 minutes for my husband to get to hostess station or my seat would be given away…. ( if I can wait over a hour I’m sure you can wait a few minutes since we are elderly.) Next we were seated ( Made the time limit). Then we are seated. Ok things are looking good now the server.I’m very aware that it is busy, and the server is busy however to see your server one time to take your order and not to see sever until it is time to pay! Wow then to send someone else to hand you your credit card!!! Not as much as a thank you. Wow……….I will say the food awesome!!!!! The service and staff that help promote the beauty and growth of this thriving business suck.’
Would be a 5 star if I had not been served a cup of coffee with someone elses lipstick on the cup rim. Food and prompt service was really good..
Amazing service! Amazing food, really great original breakfast food! The potatoes with the omelette were amazing! The only reason I didnt give them 5 stars is because we got a pie to go and it was tiny, had a weird cut to it, just not pretty, but thats mostly on us, we shouldve looked before we left 🤷🏽♀️ just a pricey 🥧 pie for what it was..
Flavored coffee with real cream, great food, and friendly staff. Our breakfast was reasonable priced for a freshly made quality meal. Staff kept our coffee cups full and were very attentive to our needs. If you want real food and are tired of the fast food style breakfast like Dennys give them a try. More of an elegant atmosphere.
Fabulous service and food! Popular on Sunday so expect to wait. Everything our party of 6 ordered was fabulous but of Id especially recommend the omelets & French toast.
This is my new favorite restaurant! Been here 5 times I think, and ordered something different every time. The food is just the best, their service is the best, their prices are the best.
The good: omelettes are big and well-prepared. The crepes on the kids menu were very good. Atmosphere is quite nice. The bad: N/A.The ugly: I do not care for the heavy whipping cream that they give for coffee.
Food was tasty, and was ready relatively quickly. Im not one to complain about anything normally, but the reason Im not giving five stars was the portion size. Im not a big guy, and I dont eat a whole lot, but an eggs Benny with a side of fruit should be more than a strawberry cut in half and a see through thin slice of cantaloupe. Just say you have no fruit, dont ruin the breakfast. LolEdit: Owner reached out to make it right, and I appreciate the gesture. Turns out that was a simple mistake. The actual side didnt make it to the plate, and what I thought was a side was a garnish! Thanks for reaching out so quickly, that says a lot about customer care.
Since the last 3yrs Ive been a regular here. They are my favorite breakfast place, not just due to the food but also the people who work here. They adapted to the pandemic in a very systematic way. Their outdoor setup is so cool. Love it.
The rusty pelican cafe is amazing! The cinnamon swirls were delicious as well as the biscuits and gravy. Our servers Kate was amazing! Cheers!
Great food and the service we got was fine (take out). It was super busy, so get there and expect a wait, but worth what we paid.
Rusty Pelican is one of the better breakfast locations in Mill Creek (haven’t had lunch here before.)Parking is usually easy as the restaurant is in a strip mall with a large lot for cars. There is almost always a wait during breakfast on the weekends, but we’ve never had to wait longer than 25 minutes or so.The interior is cute with a lot of attention to the decor details. There aren’t a ton of tables but it’s a decent sized interior. The menu is pretty extensive with a lot of options for most food preferences. The portions are super large! I’ve never been able to finish a meal here. The kids portions are really decent sized as well.Overall, the ingredients taste fresh. The only reason I’m rating 4 instead of 5 stars, is that more often than not the finished product doesn’t seem to be quite all the way there...For example, the potatoes are never quite crisp, more mushy all the way through, and the cheese in an omelette isn’t melted all the way. Instead, it’s just kind of there...We still enjoy coming here though and again I’d say this is one of your better options in Mill Creek.
Unaccommodating and zero customer service. Do not waste your time and money. This place deserves zero star.
My sister and I had breakfast here today. The service and food were superb. I would highly recommend them any time. We had a wonderful experience. The staff was extremely attentive. We shared a meal and they served it as if it was 2 individual orders. I rate them 5 star.
Not to fond of their version of biscuits and gravy. Taste was ok but nothing to spectacular, definitely not a reason to go back.
Melissa waited on us from the Woodinville location. She was wonderful!! Thank you.
We lucked out and were immediately seated for a late breakfast on a nice Saturday. Soon afterwards there was a line of people waiting. My wife ordered the Lumberjack Omelette with a biscuit. She really enjoyed it. I had Chicken Fried Steak and Eggs and had pancakes instead of toast or a biscuit and also really enjoyed my meal. The brought bread and butter before our meals, so we really got full. The service was great and the food really good, so we would come back anytime.
Horrible service and food was gross ordered the corned beef hash and there was barely any hash browns with what seemed like spam my boyfriend got the swedish pancakes and they try to charge us $2 extra for syrup and gave us orange juice label is tropical sauce in place of it!!! who does that?! Also extremely overpriced and the interior of the place was very dated
Sat right down with no wait. Excellent service. Food came out in about 10 minutes. Fabulous breakfast with huge portions! I shared it with my husband and still had leftovers!
Seafood salad was overpriced for what we got. Not very fresh.
I like to go having lunch at Rusty Pelican Café once a while. They have good menus and its tastes yummy! They serve customers professionally.
This was our first visit to Rusty Pelican with friends. The service was great and the food so tasty! We will definitely return again.
Very rude waitress, we walked in with a dog as they told it is a dog friendly restaurant. But when we brought our dog the waitress asked us to put our dog in the car with windows open. We have been taking our pet to all restaurants throughout Washington. This is the first we time i have seen a restaurant like this. Very very bad experience.Reply for your comments - as reply isn’t allowedRestaurant says - Dog friendly and my dog didn’t jump on any one, its a lieNo one in the world would ever respond a customer’s review as a shame. Please be mindful of your language. We earn enough to pay your checks. Please do not provide that as an excuse to not service people properly. Neither of the staffs had any apologetic gesture or words even after i had tears in my eyes for treating me badly.2 people visited together and can comment individually. Please explain why you said one person is commenting from different accounts?Worst experience ever!!
Long wait for Saturday breakfast but was totally worth it. Large food portions, great service and fun atmosphere. Being a chili morning, we were happy to get a table inside.
Always one of my favorite breakfast spots. The food is fresh and delicious.
Always delicious. Had the sausage eggs Benedict and they were fantastic. Great coffee as well! Will visit again
Always amazing service and delicous food. Our favorite brunch place. Expect a short wait on the weekends.
Delicious breakfast meals - love the flavors, portions and servings. Great service and great people. Our new favorite in Woodinville.
The wait was long (30-40 minutes), but it was Sunday breakfast/lunch, so thats to be expected. The server was very friendly and helpful, especially with our hungry 4-year-old. The food came out quick and was delicious! Everything had a homestyle taste and look. The biscuits and gravy was a little peppery for my taste, but very flavorful. Portions were reasonable to large, and prices are reasonable for the area. Will definitely come back!
First time at this location (I usually go to Edmonds). I was able to share my Montlake sandwich (minus Swiss cheese) with my friend. Waitress was very nice and accommodated us with an extra plate. Fries were soggy, so we picked at it. Overall the sandwich and atmosphere were great and I was very pleased.
This was the best meal I had while in Seattle. All of the other reviews are spot on. It is a bit pricey, but the quality of the food is amazing. The coffee was scalding hot as noted in another review but everything including the service was perfect. This place should be a must for anyone in the area.
Best coffee ever. Vanilla infused beans with heavy whipping cream. The corn beef hash was the best i ever had.
We had nice breakfast with my son and family
We had omelets and they were very dry with not I with not much flavor, overcooked. The service was the worst part. We were there for close to an hour and we didnt plan to do that. Very unfortunate because its a really pretty restaurant.
The service is awesome and our breakfast was perfectly prepared..delicious 😊
Very good breakfast but the service staff seemed overwhelmed. They kept forgetting to bring requested items and there was at least one mistake in the order. Overall, a good experience though.
Small tucked away breakfast joint. Favorite breakfast in the area. Rotating coffeecakes are always a delight. Service has been stellar everytime. Anything on the menu is good. I personally prefer the biscuits and gravy which have some kick but doesnt weigh me down after.
I thought the chain had closed. Used to go to the one in the City back in the 80s. By the wharf.
Very clean, staff is great and friendly, very efficient. The food was out of this world.
I was looking for some good brunch places and I had always seen this place show up in my searches. Definitely was not disappointed when I came as the portions were humongous! The salmon Benedict and vegan skillet were delicious and we had to take some to go since they were so big. Also, I loved how they had coffee and little snacks while you waited for a seat and then they also offered a cake platter at the end, which all looked divine but we just did not have anymore room.
Outdoor section was awsome, Nutella pancakes for the kiddos, you cant go wrong.
Best mimosas (try the mango one) and delicious, perfect french toast. Every time Ive gone Ive been blown away by their tasty breakfast food 😍
Very slow, service. Food was good
Loved it here. Fresh hot and good food. Very good wait staff.
I love this place. Always great atmosphere. And for lack of a better word classy.
Great service, weather was nice and cool! Food was delicious and fresh. Will definitely be back!
We had a very nice breakfast. No wait, great service, good food.
I had great food, my husband... did not.It was delicious, had gourmet touches and was fairly quick. Maybe too quick for my guys plate though, his potatoes were actually crunchy & uncooked, and his eggs were very undercooked as well. The chicken fried steak was rubbery and he was sure it was microwaved, especially bc it had soggy breading. I had the Fiesta skillet and loved it.Expect a wait to get a table, but know that your food is sure to arrive quickly thereafter. Great for a leisurely Sunday brunch when you have time to kill.Hoping the undercooked/ microwaved food was a fluke, reviews seem to rave about this place. Give it a try, the unique flavors are worth the errors honestly, my food was amazing!
The food is always delicious, and the lovely people who work there are so great
Excellent food and service for lunch or breakfast. Great desserts not shown on the menu.
First time, quite spot. Had breakfast there with my mom
I ordered food to go through Google. I ordered a french toast meal. Which consisted of 4 circles of french toast. Not even full squares. The picture looked misleading because it looked to include eggs and bacon on the plate as well. All that came with mine was the toast and a handful of fruit. For ~$17 dollars at pretty much any other breakfast place I would have had double the amount of food. Even my friends sandwich came with fries and it was cheaper than the French toast meal. Normally wouldnt be a big deal but when a restaurant leaves you hungry when you spent almost $20 on food. Does not leave a good taste in your mouth.Edit: Pelican staff did reach out to make it right and gave me a refund for that item. I do think Google shares the blame with a lack of forethought in dropping random photos onto dishes and not expecting a potential bad customer experience. Review changed from a one star review to a three star review based on their promptness with fixing the issue.
I was really pleased with the Edmonds location and heard about a second location in Mill Creek so I wanted to check it out. Same great experience-all the way from the service to the food. We came on a Saturday afternoon and looked forward to having a few breakfast items along with lunch. We were told the wait would be about 30 minute but were seated in ten minutes.I love their lemon ricotta pancakes because they are so flavorful, light and packs a full punch of goodness in my mouth. My bf had a chicken club sandwich and the bacon was pretty weak, similar to the pre-made ready to go bacon that you find in the grocer aisle, thankfully we ordered a side of REAL bacon and just slabbed that baby on the bread. It would be nice if they used the REAL bacon on the sandwich. The fries with the club were crispy, salty and delicious. Our server Laura was so sweet and accommodating-really great service. I loved all the condiments she provided me with my biscuit-including butter, jam and sausage gravy yum! She even let us start out with some potatoes hash which is really good too.In the past, weve ordered a Long Island to go with our food and all I can say is YES! The bloody Marys are good too! We havent tried their desserts yet but they are all homemade and one day I will make room!
Even though my poached eggs were hard and the muffin was soggy (I had spinach on my Benedict) and there could have been a bit more hollandaise for flavor (eggs, spinach, crab) the meal was delicious. The spinach was cooked just right and the potatoes were fantastic! My husband had a peach milkshake and allowed me a sip, it was also wonderful. The service is amazing, the place is extremely clean down to the shiny ketchup bottles. Thoughtfulness and cleanliness are apparent and so is good management. Restrooms are very clean and you are served wet naps at your table. I will come back.
Always great food and service.
The food is hit or miss. Never really bad though just sometimes really good and other times just okay. Not the place for pancakes though. Wait time isnt too bad and the wait staff is pleasant.
If there were 10 stars available, I would check them all for this place. Food is incredible, prices fantastic, menu amazing and the staff is the absolutely the best. Friendly, efficient and genuinely nice. Highest recommendation to try them, you wont be disappointed 🤓
The food tastes fantastic and fresh both dine and take-out! We loved going in there for brunch pre-corona and was so happy that they do curbside pick up during the pandemic!
The Rusty Pelican exceeded expectations. Huge portions, excellent service, and a variety of delicious breakfast foods. My new favorite brunch stop. 10/10 would recommend.
We got there at 12, and there was one server and 6 tables with only 2-3 people at each. By the time we got our food there were maybe 3 other tables left. We waited almost 20 minutes after we were done eating to get checked in on, asked if we wanted the check and get our table partially cleared by the busser/host. Then another 25 minutes just to get our check that was hand written and sorted when they initially asked us if we wanted our check. We finally left after they served all the new tables at 2 o’clock.
Good food with a large menu, friendly service, good Covid protocols even indoors.
This restaurant cannot accommodate food allergies, the food is premixed
Incredible breakfast food!
So delicious great brunch
Food was great!I called ahead to get reservations for 4, at 2:00, on Sunday.I was told that they dont take reservations and close at 2:30.We were rushed to order and rushed to leave. They want you out by 2:30.Too bad they were in a hurry to close. Maybe they make enough money without mine.
Beautiful cafe. Cohesive decor and styling right down to the menu. Very busy during lunch time, about 30-45 minute wait for a table. But very worth it! Food is fantastic!!! Theres many many options including healthy alternatives. Its a very forward thinking and health conscious menu. Alcohol menu is fun, and the drinks are to die for. Great service. Busy but casual atmosphere. A lot of families come here. It is a bit pricey for your average brunch, but everything we ordered was so good it was worth it. We paid $78 and change for 2 entres and 3 drinks (2 alcoholic). Overall, would recommend and would return but not soon or regularly - probably just special occasion brunches.
Well, on one hand I want to tell everyone how great this place is, and on the other I want to keep it a secret all to myself. This is, without a doubt, the absolute best breakfast restaurant in the Puget Sound region. Seriously. We are talking 5 star quality, and a chef that comes out tot he table to talk to you. The food was outstanding, the presentation was outstanding, the taste was exquisite.
This place is my new favorite. The smells are mouthwatering. The food is delectable. The restaurant itself is charming. The staff is delightful. I would recommend this place for any occasion. I went because it was a Sunday and I was hungry. They never disappoint.
Great food
Great food and good decor/ambiance. The staff often has issues communicating on the phone due to moderate language barriers but its nothing that cant be overcome.
