Totally overrated! We went there before close so we just got a quick milkshake and Ive had much better. I think everyone just likes the look of the shake and the fact that they went to Diner by the Sea i wasnt that impressed its very small for a diner. The worst part was when our waitress and the chef started arguing which was very awkward so we left.
Small spot on Long Beach whos main attraction is their shakes. While I enjoyed the shakes, I felt the rest of the food was very mediocre. Spinach pie was delicious though. They also have a sign that says best turkey burger and to me it was very tough and dry. My milkshake seemed to lack all of the colors of my boyfriends shake and so it seemed lackluster to me. Overall, Ive had better diner food but the person who seated us (didnt catch her name) was polite and pleasant.

Some theif tried to pick pocket me outside, the waiters were nice, the food was way to expensive for the quality.
This is an awesome, AUTHENTIC diner in every aspect. Food is delicious and cooked to perfection. The wait staff is friendly, attentive and really provide service with a smile!! And their desserts are beyond description.... HIGHLY recommend it!!
This us a really wonderful throw back to another era. A diner or luncheonette out of my youth. The food is superior, the portion sizes are very large, the staff if warm, friendly, welcoming and efficient. All this at a reasonable price point. The toilets are clean, well maintained and fully equipped. Parking is generally not a problem in the center island. Give this a try.

Do not come here. Customers dont mean anything to them. I ordered a roast beef sandwich, no bread and asked for the roast beef to be heated because I dont like it rare. I asked for a side of lettuce and tomato.Server brings me a plate of roast beef swimming in gravy. I said I did not want gravy, they them charge me for a hot open roast beef. Really?? Why didnt you offer me the potato and vegetable if I ordered a hot open? Same server decided to change my husbands home fries to French fries because they were out of home fries. Who are you (server) to decide what my husband should eat??? Go to Laurel Diner, far superior in every way!!! Skip this place and their stupid toxic toy milkshakes. Server needs a lesson in customer service.

Im not sure if this Diner is historical, but it certainly is quaint and has a hometown feel. Waitresses are friendly, service is very good and the food is very good as well. Its not my favorite Diner in town, the Laurel is, but this ones on my side of town and definitely worth a try. Ive only been here twice so still exploring the menu. Basic Diner fare done mostly traditionally but they also offer vegetarian and healthier options to the normal choices. I will be going back!
The manager was ridiculously rude. The diner is in the middle of the block but my husband and daughter insisted on walking down to the crosswalk and back up while I jaywalked across directly to it. This lady refused to seat me when I arrived. It felt very racial but then I saw she was straight rude in general. My meal alone was $20 of the bill but she refused to give me a paper bag for it unless I paid for it. She was also very rude to some elderly guests, one of whom was dressed in uniform on Memorial day because he sat in a chair that was somewhat in the way. He was like 100 years old and he sat in an already placed chair but she is devoid of any social skills. Will never return. Food was mediocre including her food colored tainted shakes.
One of the best diners on Long Island hands down. The food is always excellent and the staff is always warm and friendly.

Probably going to be a wait if you go weekend mornings but stick around it’s a great dinner. Get a fun milkshake to! They make whatever flavor you choice into a rainbow and t comes with a little toy. Great for kids... and maybe adults.
Food was actually better than I expected. Got a spicy burger with their spicy waffle fries. The burger was a little thrown together but juicy and delicious nonetheless. My compliments to the chef, he was cooking up a storm on a busy day, but was still able to make each dish amazingly
My wife and I loved this place while visiting long beach for a long weekend. The food was delicious and the service just as good. We recommend the buttermilk pancakes.

I live nearby and order all the time. They have great food, a nice and welcoming staff, and good prices. It looks very small from the outside, but theres a surprisingly large number of booths to sit in.
I went to this disgusting place and the first thing I notice is that the cook has no mask on during this pandemic. Also the person talking my Order pulled down her mask while talking to me and the food is horrific raw bacon and everything
I love eating at this place! Ive been going here since theyve been known as Beach Burger. You should try their crazy shakes. Or just settle for an amazingly juicy cheese burger deluxe. Then again they do have a lot of other stuff to choose from!
The food here is pretty good actually but theyre known for their designer shakes. My kids break my chops to come here to have their shakes and quite frankly theyre pretty darn good every color every quality every texture every thing you can imagine they do here. I must see in Long Beach and I am a native Long Beach resident. This place used to be called Beach Burger before they change the name to diner by the sea so Im dating myself LOL. In any case, definitely a staple to stop with the kids and have an incredible Shake along with some really good food.

Small establishment and the manager(Helen) lacks customer service. She was very poor mannered. We stood at the entrance for quite some time without even being approached and it wasn’t busy at all. I went to the counter and asked for some assistance with seating. Helen was very rude, I waited to be seated because my kids really love the shakes that are prepared here. If it wasn’t for my kids enjoying the shakes I would’ve left to another business. However my waitress Reli was amazing and her service impeccable

First time at this diner, it was small and a little tight. Ordered 3 cheese burgers with no extras or fries for the kids and a short stack 2 pancakes. To go I also ordered 4 shakes. The bill came to $61.00. In my opinion this was way to high of a bill for what we ordered. $7.95 for a regular sized ice cream shake with colorful syrup dressing and a plastic toy shoved in the whip cream is a bit much. I will be saving money by avoiding this diner.
Good diner food - really fun tie dyed pancakes and their milkshakes are TO DIE FOR! I had the Oreo and of course could not go wrong! I really wanted to try the Mint Chocolate which was their flavor of the month but they had ran out :(
I ordered and omelete to go. I had a sick puppy in the car on the way home from the vet. I asked for a cup of water and one of the owners at the registered told me she could not give me water. I asked her why not and she said, we get that all the time. I said you get what all the time? She said people asking for water. I asked her if the people sitting at the tables eating meals could get water and she said yes of course! I asked why my $13.55 omelette purchase did not all me a cup of water (I wanted it for my pup in the car. She rolled her eyes at me when I told her I wanted it for my dog. I frequented this diner because it was local. I thought I would share my story and let you decide if you would go there to eat.

Food was very good (I got a bacon cheeseburger). The place was neat and clean. The service was very friendly and prompt. There is decent parking but as with any other place in long beach the parking can be iffy at times.
This was the second and last time this will happen. We went for breakfast and the place was not busy. The first time we went there we had to seat our selves and it took a long time for the waitress to bring menus and then from there service was very slow. We went back for a second time because the food was good. Our second time, we were seated right away, by the nice busboy. Then he brought us water, while we waited for the waitress and our menus and we waited and waited and waited. A table that came in after us got a menu, a different waitress and was able to place his order, while we waited. We got pissed off and left, and will never go there again. 😠
Cute little diner on the main road in Long Beach. The food is good and the service was great. Our waitress was incredibly nice and checked on us frequently. The milkshakes are a little pricey but theyre very delicious and theres tons of flavor options.

Want a burger and a shake after a day at the beach? You should definitely come here. I got a grilled cheese burger that was cooked slightly overdone, but the cheese made up for the lack of juice in the burger. I asked for my milkshake to be blended with Peanut Butter and Oreo for and extra dollar but Im not sure they added peanut butter into it. The oreo milkshake was delicious though- beautifully presented

This look nice inside but it’s unpleasant and the service was not good. My experiences was awful today the lady at the counter quickly assumed that I wasn’t staying to eat after ordering my food. She rushed my order by not really listening to want I wanted to eat here, she give me a cheddar and bacon 🥓 omelette which that’s not what I preferred. After sitting down eating this I realize that it was the wrong order and she was filled with a lot of negativity in here,& I guess because I wasn’t yelling about my food she was looking for another way to get me annoyed but I didn’t go there with her and she started talking badly to me. And she started doing hand gestures to say I was crazy Bc I didn’t want my food and she told the other lady to help these people which I find that description as a races remark,& after the other waitress help me,& I spoke to John Bc the manger wasn’t there to help me in this situation he told me to call or come back after 1pm Bc that’s when she will be there,& I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone it’s not the best service they didn’t come up with any resolution to resolve my issue and this waitress was very disrespectful to the point that even when I was having a positive conversation with the other waitress she started to continue to say negative things towards me. All I wanted to do was sit down and eat before I head back to work,& I received the worst experiences and customer service here. I will not rate them as good, great or excellent. Worst place to go to especially if your just trying to chill with yourself before going back to work. Just because a places appears to look nice inside doesn’t mean the people that are inside of this place is nice. They get a F,& even after she knew I wanted to stay she seated me anywhere and never asked me if I wanted tea or orange juice or water. The lady with the Blonde hair is extremely rude she try’s to engage the customer into drama instead of communicating in a positive way with the customer and her attitude was not pleasant from the beginning but I will not ever go back there ever again.
Went there this morning.Sat down and ordered within 3/5 mins. A table of 2 who sat down a few minutes after us were served their meals 10 minutes after we ordered.Then, a table of 2 who came in well after we sat down were served straight away after them.At this point having been seated for close to 20 minutes and watching 2 tables who arrived after we did served, we got up and walked out.It did seem strange that on a Sunday morning in Long Beach the Diner had several empty tables.Just an obnoxious disgrace.

I had ordered a sandwich and the chicken was dry so I wasnt able to finish my sandwich but I still took it to go. I told my waitress that it was dry and she looked kind of offended. When I was leaving I heard her talk smack that I took the order to go.when I was leaving she told me to enjoy my sandwich even though she knew that I didnt like it very much...I mean the food was good but service could of been better.

First time coming here getting my hopes up because people gas this place up so much. As i come in, diner had one table open for a big party, i came in with a family of 4. Hostess tells me take the corner table, as my party sits down, 2 minutes later, hostess tells us to get up to give the table up of 5 that just came in after we already ordered our food. Really unexpected for a customer and found it rude, the hostess always tells poor Timmy to do everything also like poor guy. I Wont be coming back at all.
Local diner with that small town feel. I love it and was worth the 30 minute drive.
The atmosphere was pleasant, service was excellent and the food was done with care and skill. A lovely time and great meal. Prices are Fair as well.
