Needed a full engine swap on my car and these guys were not only fast but affordable and better price than anyone I had quoted it at. Jeff and his crew did a fantastic job replacing my engine and saved me $1300 over all other quotes I got and also got an engine with 20K less miles on it. Ive had my brakes done by them, and recently had a headlight replaced that they only charged me $10 for because Im a good customer. You cant even buy the bulb for that in the store.These guys do great quality work and are just wonderful people for the owners to the porters. I just cant say enough about them. Ive had issues before where I hate to say, because Im a woman, they tried to take advantage of me. These guys treat you like they would their own family.Even though I recently moved out to Van Buren Twp. I will keep coming back to them for any work I need done because I can trust them. I was so amazed by the results that my car received from the mechanics at Engine Tech that the dealership wouldnt even attempt. Yes, the Lexus supposedly experts and the job was under the original quote I was able to buy four new tires after they fixed my front and rear control arms, for those that dont know how involved this procedure is its literally taking apart the front and rear mechanism that keeps the pitch correct so, you dont wear out your tires. But, for a business that didnt try and rake you over the coals and tell you they didnt need what they thought it would take was, PRICELESS. Thanks Jeff and yes, you where right the ride was excellent on my 2001 car. PRICELESS

These guys installed my long tube headers, mid pipes with high-flow cats and O2 sensors. The work was top notch and the pricing was excellent. I would highly recommend this place to anyone that is looking for work to be done on their vehicle.

Spent alot of money here getting repairs and new parts that dont seem to get installed /repaired right the first time and I have to keep coming back to get the issue fixed the guys here seem to be good people but some of the workers clearly rush the job making you have to come back over and over again. Not satisfied at all

I needed a used engine put in a e250 cargo van they checked my compression first and it was at 30 so basically the motor was done I was having shaking in the rear lack of power they got me in motor with 87,000 on it the one I had had 211, thousand he found some parts that he wanted to make new so down the road I dont have to replace them and end up taking the whole motor out again theres not much room to work in the cargo vans so he put new serpentine belt new spark plugs coils packs a new manifold all in all 5100 he said he would have it done in a week and he got it done in a week so far so good it drives Ive only drove it two blocks so far but Im happy with the work I read all the reviews so now they have another good one I would recommend them to anybody I know

I took my vehicle to them for an oil leak and transmission issue because of praise from a friend.They horribly misdiagnosed my oil leak and said I had a bad trans mount. They had my truck for over a week and it still wasnt even started to be fixed. I needed it for work so I had my oil leak fixed elsewhere, and being down my vehicle so long already, decided to fix the trans mount later. Now, a month later my transmission completely went out and the shop it is at now found my trans mount to be perfectly fine and there were internal issues.Wont be going back there again.

Excellent service. Had my GM 3.6L (timing chains) worked on. I dont know Jeff but after my first visit i will not hesitate to go back. I needed a ton of work and Jeff and I came to an agreement of what needed to be replaced. I was extremely impressed on how he called me back in to look at the engine and come up with a plan on what repairs were for sure needed and his mechanic made suggestions on what will be needed down the road. I called three other repair shops and everyone tried to sell me a rebuilt engine without even looking into repairing mine. I found Engine Tech simply by reading the reviews and I was impressed on how Jeff responded to the + and - reviews. I could tell there was a sense of honesty and integrity there so I gave him a try. It was well worth my time and money. I found just being upfront and honest with a price helped us put a plan together to get me back on the road. Cant say much about this place that hasnt already been said. My cars turbo stopped giving boost so I took it to a mechanic and he said the turbo is bad and needs replacement cost $2,000. I took it here and jeff diagnosed the problem and it was a bypass soloniod. The people at engine tech are levels ahead of any shop around I highly recommend them.

Great service when you can get in, unfortunately they are always busy, Ive tried multiple times to schedule an alignment and am always told not this week then you try next week and they say maybe next, I give up.edit: I understand the pandemic issues, this has been going on including last year, same thing. I used to go to the shop when you guys were on Dix, I have found it nearly impossible to get in for YEARS, always the same [and no one has ever suggested an appointment on the phone] its always Wont have anything open until Thursday then come Thursday, Nothing open, try sometime next week So I guess thats a plus to be so busy you turn people away constantly, dont think its a good long term policy though and no, I will not change the rating and no, cant wait a week for an alignment.

Had vehicle breakdown in the area based where I was going to take it for repair based on reviews engine tech did not disappoint fixed next day at a fair price.

Was able to do what the Ford dealer couldnt do. Ford dealer told me they could not get my 2012 Ford Escape in alignment. Downriver did this without a problem. Highly recommended.

I brought my 2002 dodge Dakota in for a crank no start problem. They got the truck running for $750 by replacing the fuel pump. The next time I filled the tank I had a fuel leak at the fill neck. I brought the truck back to Engine tech to report the leak and they had me back on the road the next day. I am very happy with the service I received. They really went above and beyond my expectations in costumer service. Great place to take your vehicles.

Ive done a fair share of Business with Engine Tech. They do good quality work, schedule you in a timely matter, turn around time mostly on time unless unforeseen issues arise.Would recommend using them.

For context, I’m an Uber driver whose driven 250,000 miles the last five years, and this week I fired my mechanic, because I found this place. I was borderline distraught earlier this week as neither my mechanic, or the Ford dealership could find the problems I knew my car had. I walked in, and Jeff looked me square in the eyes and said “I can fix your car”. He wasn’t kidding. His tech spent over an hour, like a crazed man “chasing noises”; pointing out to me with a flashlight everything he kept finding. We even went on test drives together so I could point out exactly what I was hearing on my 193,000 mile car. Not only did he find my two chief complaints, he found a striped oil pan plug which was visibly leaking oil. Without even asking, when I showed up to get my car just eight hours after dropping it off, he had ready the worn parts to show me exactly what was damaged. My car hasn’t driven this well since I bought it at 75,000 miles. I’ve never felt better about trusting my business asset with a complete stranger. My only complaint is that I didn’t find these guys sooner! 🍻

False advertisements on their alignments. I made an appointment to have an alignment and they told me Id have to wait for an hour and tried to charge me more than advertised. DO NOT GO HERE.

If they are going to tell you the car will be ready, in a day, day and ahalf tops, then it should be, stopped by the second day wasnt finished, call later that day, said it would be in the morning, called in the afternoon, they told me the same stuff that he was working on from the day before had to be finished, and it would be done by the end of the day, asked them if they are going to charge me full price still for being 3days and the excuse was it was hot in the buildingthats not a excuseI would not recommend

Ok let me finish this. Some years back I took my older model Oldsmobile to Eng. Tech. Front end squirrelly at best. Ok on the rack, etc. Needed blah,blah ok. But then Mark says I cant let you leave, say what? Cant let you go have to replace ball joint its not safe to drive, both but at the very least that side. No ask me for $$ . Mark say he cant let me drive out of there without said repair. They did both, you have to. They took my welfare, safety my very life into their hands- for me. Not for the money for my health and well being. I have 100% absolute confidence with these guys, no question. There is not another shop that tops Eng. Tech, I guarantee . God Bless these guys.😇

I needed the heat fixed in my car because it wasnt working. Told them if you leave it on long enough, it would get lukewarm at the most. One day later, they charged me $200+. Didnt fix the heat, wasted all my gas, and did exactly what I told them would happen. On top of that, they ruined my A/C too. On top of that, now it only has two settings, off and full blast. Do not go to them, find someone else.
