The workers are friendly but this place is significantly understaffed. I sell clothing quite a bit amongst several stores (uptown, platos, clothes mentor, Buffalo exchange, etc) but this is my first time selling to this location and also the first time that Ive ever waited this long for anyone to process a buy. I arrived to check in a few minutes after 12pm (opening time today, Sunday) and I was quoted a 55 minute wait time. It us now 3:54pm and they still have yet to complete my transaction. My clothes are in a small bin just sitting there neatly folded as I brought them in. I understand that they are likely doing all they can to process the buys BUT giving an honest and more accurate time quote would have been greatly appreciated. Upon reviewing the reviews of this location, it seems that I am not the only one who has suffered this time suck. They need more workers and a more efficient process at this location.. Good thing I got here early, I guess....

Walked in to store and was greeted and also the store was clean and well put together. I loved the deals that they had promoting. The place was well put together. The staff was friendly and hard working. They all were doing something. I enjoyed my experience first time shopping there.

Brought 1 bin of clothes for the first time today, and I was told it would take 45 minutes to search through my items. I stood around the area for the time being and when I came back 45 minutes later I was told that my items weren’t even touched and that it would be handled the next morning. Today is the only day I really have time to do anything so now I have to find some way to come back tomorrow. They should’ve just told me how long it would actually take instead of wasting my time. Could’ve gone home and done something productive. Smh.

This store is a joke with the new staff. I went in on a empty Friday morning. Some employee girls were goofing around in the fitting rooms taking pictures for the insta and another one was on her phone behind the counter and completely ignored me while I was waiting in line to pay. The other one was on her phone in between the clothing aisles. The clothing here is awful, it was a miracle I was able to find anything. There’s stuff 20+ years old with stains and piling meanwhile they tell clients who sell that they only buy clothing within a year and a half of it being out. There’s also tons of shein. Will be going to another location. I ended up leaving the stuff I just bought and walking away :(

Staff was friendly when entering, and mainly left you to your own while shopping, which I appreciate. Store and dressing rooms are clean. They have lots of clothes but extremely lacking in plus size options. They only go up to 2x and most of that is 14-16 range which isn’t 2x. And nearly all of the plus is veeeery dated. There were a few items within current styles but most of this stuff I would only buy for an office job or church. Would love to come back when you’re more inclusive to bigger sizes.

This place is a good concept; however there are a few things that rub me the wrong way. Once you come in they welcome you. After that, customer service is wayyyyy lacking. Dust everywhere. Layers on top of layers. Not a good men’s selection. Need more. They also need to accept more. I tried bringing close in. They didn’t accept anything. Unbelievable! I rarely find anything here because they never have anything new in men’s.

I am very disappointed in my latest visit to this store. I have bought a few items from Uptown before (mostly in Denton), but today I went in to sell. I had a small basket of jackets and coats. Although the sales person was friendly, I didnt feel I was given a decent reason not to buy any of my items. I was told that the items were two seasons ago (which I think is her trying to tell me my items were out of style, but they were definitely in season) and many were too worn and had stains. One of the jackets was a lightly worn, very nice Patagonia jacket that I bought two years ago and only selling because after having my daughter I cant fit into it anymore. That jacket was not out of season, out of style, too worn, or had stains and Patagonia still sells that jacket just in other colors. I also brought a denim jacket - those are in style and in season - no stains, not too worn. I understood why they didnt want to take the UNT sweatshirt which did have a small paint stain and one of the coats was a bit worn, but the others were all in good shape. I wouldnt waste your time coming here, just hit up Platos instead.If the company reads this, no need to reply. Im not angry you didnt purchase any of my items, I just want other sellers to be aware. Also, maybe you should be a little more clear on what you are accepting (aka whats in season and in style) as apparently my friends and I are two seasons ago.

I was just in today 1/16/21. Decided that since my son and i were moving i would declutter my closet. Aside from the fact that they “couldn’t take” basic items like denim shorts, regular white jeans, black distressed denim that had tags on them. Kevin was very rude. I came back in with my sleeping toddler after being told that the offer was ready and when the sweet girl at the register told me what they could sale i told her she could donate the rest. And she said their donations were full. I was like aww man i don’t have room to take the box back we’re moving I’m trying to get the stuff away. An associate with braids started to tell me that there was a Salvation Army not to far away before i could reply to her Kevin got loud and said “well we don’t have any room for it so you’re going to take it” with his hand up and neck rolling. I told him “I’m going to take it sweetheart there’s no need to be rude” i thanked the girls and asked if it was okay if i took my little one to the car before getting the box they said sure. On my way out with the box Kevin sarcastically yells “you have a good day”I normally don’t write reviews or anything like that but in this climate the disrespect was very unwarranted.

Went there after months due to the situation, sometimes we might feel afraid or just question ourselves on how serious people are taking this, however I felt that I was safe there, not too many people because I went couple of hours after they had open. Grabbed couple of clothes and before entering the fitting room I asked a helpful young lady if they sanitize the clothes and the place, her answer was yes we do after every try-on we spray them. There were couple of more people trying on clothes, then it was my turn so she cleaned the room first. Everything looks neat and clean. Good Job!

I found 3 pairs of new if not almost new jeans, two excellent flannels, and an almost new Dallas Cowboys sweatshirt. $71 total. Thats the equivalent to what ol Lunatic Jerry Jones sells that one sweatshirt to pay for his narcissistic lifestyle and Johnny Walker Black. What a deal!

Went in to buy clothes on Saturday 7/112020. Arrived around 7 and found some cute clothes and I wanted to try on a pair of jeans. The worker there told me they close the fitting rooms 15 minutes before closing. I informed her that I still had 20 minutes before 8 but the girl refused to let me in the fitting room!!!!!!!! I bought two shirts I knew would fit me but I couldnt try on the jeans because the worker was I guess just PUT OUT by allowing me to try on the jeans! Whatever!!! Oh yes by the way, I was the ONLY one in the store. Good luck shopping here. Thats just pure laziness!!! Not going back.

I used to sell to this location quite frequently and loved it (I even travel from Aubrey to sell here because of it) however, in the past year it has gone downhill. Ive brought in baskets full of good clean, quality clothes with items barely a year old and now the past 3-4 times they have given me no more than $15 dollars. They used to do well selecting clothes to buy and I would shop at their store in return because I appreciated it. Ive even brought in items they say they are looking for. Now its not even worth shopping here because I can barely make enough with them taking 6-10 of my items to pay for one of their shirts.

Cute clothes if your going to buy (at a VERY cheap price), if your selling try doing so somewhere else. I brought it 7 items (ALL brand new in boxes and with tags)- brands like steve madden, aerie, jessica Simpson. Their offer was $27, a joke really considering they will make a nice profit off it.

Super cute gently used clothing store . Well organized and clothes are in excellent condition and are odor free. The staff is friendly and helpful . They have everything from shoes to work out wear and the prices are reasonable. My teen really likes this store and we go regularly because its right next our gym. Great location and good selection of items.

I use to be a huge fan and frequent customer of this particular location. That will be changing after today. When bringing in a bag of clothes, I was told that the bag had an odor and she could then not search the bag. Now mind you, I have used this bag several times to go to other stores to sell items and I smelled nothing on it. I even had my husband smell it when I arrived home, and he smelled nothing. I believe quite literally, that she just didn’t want to search my bag for discrimination reasons. I have literally seen several POC come in and had their bags quickly gone through (if at all) and then tossed to the side. I am highly disappointed and will not return to this store ever again. Save your money for Plato’s or Clothes Mentor.

. In my last experience dropping off clothes, I waited 30 minutes for these ladies to NOT LOOK THROUGH my clothes and waste my time. My clothes were handed back to me the exact same way I put them in there. Personally, Plato’s gives more money and don’t have rude employees. I got 40 bucks from Plato’s when Uptown wouldn’t take anything. At least be nice to the people who are giving you a job.

Love uptown cheapskate, they are a little more expensive compared to other thrift stores, but they usually have really good finds and theyre sales are usually really good too. The employees at this location are usually really nice and helpful as well.

The store was very clean and organized. The staff was super friendly, however I gave it 1 star because me and a friend of mine went to this location both of us with large bags of clothes that mostly had not been worn with original tags still on them. They had us waiting for over an hour for them to tell us that they were not going to accept clothes from either one of us. Which is completely fine, but when they gave us our bags back our clothes were in there exactly how we had folded and put them in there initially and looked as if they hadnt been touched or looked at. I feel like I wasted an hour waiting for clothes that they didnt even look at.I do not plan to sell to them again.

For reference, I am a 23 year old male and traded in 3 pairs of levis I barely wore. They offered me $16 in store credit for the transaction. i figured it was better than nothing and took the deal. Ended up buying some nice used shoes for $25. This store is definitely more catered towards the female crowd but you can find some gems hidden in the mens section every now and then. Always worth checking out.

Dont plan on selling a lot of items here because they are very picky wont offer you much in cash, if you want to sell items you may be better off going to buffalo exchange or Platos closet.

Employees are beyond rude. I was just hanging out in the store to make my girlfriend happy and watched a girl walk in and attempt to donate honestly really nice looking clothes and they told her we are not a charity service and talked down to her and then wouldnt accept most of what she had after making her wait over an hour. It was honestly the worst customer service experience I have ever seen. When she asked why they wouldnt take the clothes they cut her off mid sentence and said have a good day and started talking to the next customer.Nothing in the store seems worth dealing with the employees for.

I love shopping at Uptown Cheapskate! I always find great stuff for low prices! I have brought clothes in a few times. Usually theyll take one or two items and then they donate the rest. I do wish all the stores were connected so I could use the same # for coupons and points.

I would suggest Plato’s closet. I brought in a lot of name brand (with tag) items and I was told they wouldn’t accept them because they’re looking for particular items. It’s a waste to lug a bag of clothes up there to have them only give you $10.

So I submitted a review on this location back when they had competent staff which happened to be when they still had decent clothing and shoes for men. I brought a pair of decent quality ariat boots to this location and before anyone could even examine them for quality they told me that they dont accept cowboy boots at this location, which is bs because I bought some from this location a few months back and have always bought my boots from this location. So if you need decent clothing or shoes dont come to the Lewisville location as they will make up new policy if your gently used clothing doesnt appeal to the tastes of whatever ditzy clerk is working the purchase counter. Ill never shop here again and will tell everyone to avoid this dingy location as well.

I usually sell at platos and was hoping since this is supposed to be more upscale they would offer more and take more. Not the case at all, the girl told me my wait would be 20 minutes. An hour later after having to pretend to shop through their crap selection they offered me 14$ for several brand new high end designer items. Dont waste your time shopping or selling here

To buy clothes this place is amazing I mean seriously amazing. REMEMBER YOU ARE BUYING USED CLOTHES. There might not be a return policy, yes you might have something wrong with it, but thats why when you shop for used clothes that you want you make sure nothing is wrong with it before you use your money on it. I have seen a lot of name brands here that I know cost a lot but are going for steal prices. (I wear a lot of Lularoe and they sell their shirts and leggings for $12 or less and they go for $20+ brand new)The customer service isnt the best. I remember someone ringing us up and my boyfriend and I just looked at each other like this girl clearly hates her job. It was honestly quite awkward when someone is ringing you up and you can just tell they dont want to help you. Being a manager before I do know that is going to be more on their part for not saying anything.For donating. This place isnt Platos and that is a good thing. I cannot tell you how many time I have been to Platos and I pull like 10 things off the rack I like and there is a rip or something is really wrong with it. I have never had that problem here and they make sure to buy clothing that isnt cheaply made (Like online clothes) so yeah they are a little more pickier.

Been here twice now, to sell and buy. Bought once there but never sold. The second time we brought in polo/nautica shirts/shorts/sweaters anywhere from medium to XL, quite a few with tags still on, in quite an assortment of colors (nothing crazy). They didn’t want any of it, and after seeing what they’re offering in the store I wasn’t even surprised... idk who’s letting them pick out the clothes but if “good condition” is advertised, that’s what I would expect. Took the same bunch of clothes to a different place, same concept, and they offered us on all items but one.. a sweater in summer. Fair enough. Bad decision making by the high school kids running the shop, just saying.

Overall, Id say positive experience. Ive done plenty of shopping at what I would call trade in stores, and this one was nice. They did have a pretty wide selection including a decent portion for a curvy girl like me but really didnt have a whole lot to pick from in skirts and dresses which was a pity. They didnt really have alot that works with my body type in probably most sizes, so if you can pull off body con styles better than full skirts, that should be your store. Now, they do have some really fabulous looking purses both label and not... But I do think they are a little too eager on the pricing for their used designer bags especially for a trade in store, cuz Ive seen those brands sell it for the same price new at the outlets. Also, they really overshoot the price of anything with a label, including I kid you not $85 for a pair of sunglasses!!! I mean, really??? You can buy new for the same price or probably less if you know where to look. Hell, Ive even walked into a designer store in north park saw them on a shelf for $75. So, in all, the staff are very helpful and trust me, Im sure I probably tried some of their patience with my methods if shopping, so, gold star for them. But, I really think that for a store that focuses in fast fashion and a younger crowd aka teens and early 20s, its priced a little higher than its competition. They do have quality stuff, clean store, and great staff. Id say give it a try But not the place for day to night aka work optional wear or for a curvy girl with a muffin top. I did end up making some purchases of a really nice sweater that happened to match a dress that was really nice in me as well as 2 other things and paid about $40, so not bad, but considering that this place is more of a classier platos closet with a young audience vs closet mentor for career women which I expect to be on the higher end of the trade in store genre, they could relax a little on their prices but still fair given the effort they put into the layout of the store so its a lot easier to shop.in
