I went here because my check engine light was on and I wanted to be sure my car wasn’t going to break down. They fully took care of my car and we’re extremely helpful in explaining what was going on each step of the way. They were even able to text me about my car while I was at work, so I didn’t have to stay there all day. It was definitely a great experience. They’re not the cheapest repair place, so if you’re looking for a bargain, you should probably look elsewhere. But if you’re looking for someone to confidently fix your car, without trying to upsell you on anything, that also has friendly helpful customer service, this is the place to go.

Came in on Saturday at 2:30 P.M. with my brake pedal going to the floor. I was not aware they close at 3:00 and when I walked in the door they received me with so much attention. I was taking a trip to Dallas with my family & was planning on canceling my plans however this guys stayed late & made sure I get back on the road safe & continue to my plans! I wish I could give negative stars here. Avoid this business. We sent our 17 year old daughter to black bear auto to get her vehicle a front end alignment. It is a convenient location not far from her work. They took her vehicle in and then quoted her $693 in “suspension repairs “ before they could perform the alignment. The problem was specifically identified through a text message to her that her inner-tie-rods were both worn and needed immediate replacement. They continued to recommend a control arm, but not as critical. I read the message, it’s not like she misunderstood. Absolutely fraudulent!!!! I ordered the parts myself thinking this was legitimate. I got the upgraded parts and they were a total of $48. After the new parts arrived I inspected the parts on her car and found ZERO wear or damage. This was no mistake or misquote, it was their attempt to take advantage of a young girl and increase their revenue. Shame on you. We will continue to spread the word about your fraudulent business practices. Avoid, avoid, avoid.

I made an appointment at 9am for an inspection of my car. It was quick and the front desk was very welcoming and informative! I got my car back and paperwork I needed was waiting for me in my car along with a note thanking me for my business! Excellent service. I have taken multiple vehicles to Black Bear for everything from oil changes to brakes to suspension work. They have changed engine mounts and steering components. Their service is excellent and they fully support their warranty. I will continue to use them without fail.

Wow, I am simply wowed on how they treated me. I came to their shop for check engine light being on and some suspension work. Not only they didnt charge me for engine light, they also fixed it at a very small cost (other shops were charging almost $1000 to fix it). All the people up front were super friendly. I received pictures via text message along with the estimate with no pressure of sales. I normally dont go on social media and rate, but this experience was the best automotive shop experience I have ever had. I will continue to use blackbear and will tell all my friends and family. Thank you team blackbear!Update-- 3rd trip since the last time. Once again, they went above and beyond to take care of my needs. I honestly dont think there is another auto repair shop which is as good as these people. While waiting there, I witnessed how polite they were with other customers as well. Great job guys!

Modern, courteous, quick, reasonable price, clean shop, very professional, no up-sale, seemed honest...this is hands down the best customer service I have ever received from a mechanic! And my car is still running well 2 weeks later, so as far as I can tell they did a good job. I had my car towed here and left it on a Sunday night after my serpentine belt broke. I had never used them before. They contacted me the next morning and let me explain what happened. I drive an 18 year old car, so I asked them to do a full inspection and tell me everything that may need to be done in the next year, before they worked on it. They texted me a link to a website where I could view a description of each recommendation with pictures of each item on my car and also an electronic estimate where I could individually approve or decline each recommendation. Costs and totals were listed. It was very convenient and low pressure. I still ended up calling with more questions and concerns and they were very patient and explained. I was concerned about vibrations I had felt and asked for an alignment. The mechanic took the car out and drove it and looked and said I didnt need an alignment, but rotated and balanced tires instead, at my request. They couldve easily just done the alignment and made the $. I was also concerned about some wiring that a AAA roadside service tech had told me might need to be replaced. They looked and said it was best to leave it as is (they couldve easily sold me on more work), but the battery needed to be replaced. It was still under AAA warranty, so the tech emailed me a report that I could submit to AAA. He didnt seem annoyed that I didnt want to have it replaced there, even though he went through the trouble of testing it and checking wiring. They didnt charge me for the inspection or labor for checking the various concerns I had. And the final nice touch is that they left a thank you note on my dash. Overall, they seemed to be honest and tell me what truly did and did not need to be done immediately and what should be done in the next 50,000 miles or so. They had the car 2 days (b/c I asked them to check something else at the end of the first day), and repaired several things, but the cost seemed reasonable. My Dad even said it seemed fair...and he has dealt with a lot of car repairs. Overall, just a good experience. This is definitely my new go-to mechanic!

I work within walking distance so this is the most convenient place to use for any maintenance. The owner is always very courteous and professional. As a woman, I feel like some automotive places treat you like you know nothing and try to nickel and dime you. Not here! He spoke to me like I was an educated person and actually drove me to my office so I didn’t have to walk.Please don’t confuse this with the old Driver’s Automotive that was here before Blackbear. The service is like night and day. I bought a 5 oil change package from the previous business that closed just a few weeks later. The owner of Blackbear offered to honor it, which I will NOT let him do! However, that just shows his level of commitment to his customers. Well done Mr. Khan!

I’ve gotten many oil changes and state inspections done here. I love all of the staff here. They explain everything to you and treat you like family. They always let me use the $20 off coupon I got from their grand opening even when it’s expired. I definitely will keep returning here for oil changes.

Incredible service!They were so kind and helpful. I had a pretty terrible experience at another repair place. I called Blackbear and they were ready to see what they could do.I dropped my daughter’s car off by 8:00 am, and it was ready before 1:00 pm. I was given a huge runaround, with a higher expense, but Blackbear told me what was actually wrong. I wish I went here first. It would have saved $2,000 I didn’t need to spend in the first place!They will definitely have our future business!

These guys are great. I had an issue with my brakes which another shop told me needs pads and rotors. Came to find out a rock was stuck in between my brake pads and rotors which was causing noise. They took care of it no charge. I came in with the mindset to spend money on brakes and they were honest and fixed it for no charge. Great job guys!!

I had to go in today for a new wheel bearing and everyone was so nice and helpful. They drove me to my house so I didn’t have to wait or buy an Uber! They send you detailed pictures of your car and what condition everything is in. The pricing is fair and I felt good about the whole thing. My car is driving great and I will be going back in the future! Also, Asad left me a thank you note in my car and I felt like I was really appreciated as a customer.

Fantastic customer service. I took my car in for an oil change, knowing my car had other issues I was going to have get fixed. They quoted me a fair price, but when I was trying to prioritize what I could afford, they worked with me on lowering the price even more. They also had an option that allows me to pay the cost over a few months, for a small fee, which I really appreciated! To top it off, they drove me home while they made the repairs, and picked me up when the work was done. Needless to say, Im really happy with the service they provided and plan on going back with all my cars.

A truly wonderful experience. Ive been to a few mechanics in my life and these guys are the absolute best. I drove my diesel truck from north of dallas to see these guys off of a recommendation and wow did the surpass the expectations I had by far! Horrible customer service and the slowest sense of urgency. I was just along for the ride and thought it was a quick pit stop since they had 0 customers waiting but it still took a very long time for a simple oil change. Im glad i take my vehicle to Jiffy Lube and didnt bother bringing in my own car here. My cousin wanted to give them a try since they showed great reviews and a fair price but glad i didnt learn the experience with my own vehicle.

If I could give 0 star rating it would be too high. Worst customer service I have experienced in my life and very condescending towards women. When I asked for a corporate number I was told they don’t have a corporate number and they are private owned but can’t give me anybody number. What kind of low level mom and pop shop thinks they’ll be able to compete with such poor customer service. Buyer beware stay away from this business as they can’t even provide a phone number to call and speak with someone about horrible experience. It’s like they don’t care about their customers, potential or existing. I gave them a try after reading all the great reviews but I guess you can’t believe everything you see on the internet.Update: I was not a customer because of the poor customer service up front. Why would anyone give a business the keys to their vehicle after being treated so horribly? That’s the phone number I had initially called so that’s why I was asking for a corporate number instead. I’m assuming you’re the owner of the business but you can’t even post a direct number to be reached at or a name of who to ask for. Worst business model if you ask me. Nobody to hold accountable for the poor representation of what used to be a good location prior to new ownership.

Super helpful store and employees! I’m visiting from out of town and had an issue with my van battery. I stopped by and the staff checked it for free and found out (thankfully) that it was nothing major and just a simple loose connection on the negative battery terminal. They tightened it for me and got me back on the road. The team is very friendly and definitely went the extra mile! Thanks guys!!

Did not have an OEM for Acura RDX 2012 turbo 2WD and I had to get a headlight assembly from the dealership. The dealership quoted $900 plus labor is $1168 and that’s if I bring my own bulb. I also needed an igniter and inverter replaced which added an extra $600 and front two tires added extra $538. How can they have the headlight assembly for almost any other vehicle?

Went to see the new business in my area. Adeel the owner, was super nice, friendly and got my car serviced very quick. Kept me updated at all of the stages of service and also called me when the vehicle was completed. Great job Blackbear Automotive!

I love having this place nearby my work in South Shore. I bring both of my cars here for the convenience. They even gave me a ride back to my work (its only like a half mile from there), so I didnt have to Uber back. I used to frequent this location when it used to be Driver’s Auto repair and boy was I let down when they picked up the phone. No customer service skills at all. I was surprised at all the great reviews when I tried to find the number to driver’s auto so I gave them a shot and boy was I let down. Looks like I won’t be continuing my business with the new ownership. Think I’ll take my 5 pack redemption to another Driver’s or find a new mechanic shop that can make me feel important and have a sense of urgency to assist me with my needs.

In a word superb. I had a noise coming from the front end of my car when I pulled in without an appointment. The manager, Adeel, immediately put my car on a hoist and invited me to come take a look. He and his technician did a thorough investigation right in front of me and showed me that the noise was clearly coming from my front hubs, which he then quoted to replace. They drove me home while they worked on my car and then picked me up when it was finished. The front lobby is spotlessly clean, Adeel and his staff are professional and friendly and most importantly, HONEST.

Miscommunication, they didn’t fix what I wanted fixed, they gave me a refund but also broke things inside my car they were not supposed to touch and continued to deny it after I showed videos of my car before bringing it in to them. Put in the wrong weather lining and now my door juts out which it didn’t before and I have a video of it being flat and they continued to deny it saying I didn’t know what I was talking about. Overall a poor experience. But I did get a refund without needing to ask.

First I want to thank Adeel and his staff for working diligently into the evening, on a Saturday, to repair my vehicle.I am working out of town and was coming home from Beaumont on a Saturday eve. I had a blowout on I-10 just outside of Winnie, Texas.The following day (Sunday) I took my vehicle to a local tire store to get a new tire. The tire store did not have my tire and said they would have to order it. However they did give me an estimate for about $1,800 dollars for a long list of problems. So I decided to get a second opinion.After I ordered my new tire from Tire Rack. I took my truck to BlacK Bear the following Saturday. They checked my truck over and found only a need for a pretty extensive brake repair. Considering the age of my truck, a ‘95 and a pulsation I’ve had in my brakes for awhile. I didn’t doubt the estimate. Adeel assured me that the other problems noted by the tire store were non existent. My main concern was would he be able to get my truck repaired that day as I had to be back early Sunday in Beaumont. When a new part had failed after the installation. Adeel and his staff worked well into the evening to get me back on the road. Because the work went late into Saturday eve, Adeel did not charge for the mount and balance of the tire I provided.I can’t express how highly I recommend this establishment for auto repair needs.

Made an online appointment for an alignment, received a confirmation. Show up two days later for the appointment at 8 am and doors are locked and lights are off (opens at 7 am according to Google and the hours on the front door). No one answering the phone. Not a great first impression and will not return.
