They were super straight forward! I missed my first appointment but they were totally fine with rescheduling. They got me road safe and told me what was wrong. And, even though what they initially thought was wrong was not the case, they only charged me for what they did. I feel they truly care for me understanding what was wrong and truly cared about my involvement with my car. I would absolutely recommend these guys to anyone. I got an amazing deal, amazing service, and if they cant do the work themselves, I will absolutely trust their recommendation. I liked being treated like a person! Not just a know nothing with a car! Wonderful service at Midas.

While on vacation we had a problem with our axle, traveling from Virginia and New York, we stopped at Midas before our tire on our travel trailer fell off. Loni (manager) and crew were quick to diagnose and offer to do the work. We had to get back home for work, and we’re able to leave the trailer in good hands. My daughter moved up to Kansas and day after her arrival our ford F150 truck was acting up! We had our truck towed into Midas after a friend recommended them and said they were honest mechanics! BOY WAS HE CORRECT!! Lonnie was the the main contact for us and did a great job relaying the progress on our truck diagnostic assessment and repairs. I had bought a new battery the week before at a place in Corpus Christi Texas and they said if battery drains quickly it is probably an alternator issue. Lonnie took the time to call the company and get a replacement under our store warranty. When battery was replaced the diagnostics did show an alternator issue. After they replaced the alternator our power steering was still not working. So they initially said we need a new system but also gave us other options for a used part. We chose to go with that the used version. When they were putting in the system they noticed some more fuses were out and replaced those fuses. That solved the problem and also said we did not need the used power steering system! They could have easily just charged the labor and time and replace the power steering or at least said they did. But they did not!! I respect this team so much and especially Lonnie for communicating long distance with me in Texas! Thank you so much! This team is the best!!

I brought my car here for first time and I love their service. The second time is amazing, they run the diagnostic test on my car to find out the failed oxygen censor. Price is not affordable for student I guess but it worth the service here. Would definitely come back here!

I had very positive experiences with a Midas store when I lived in a different city, and hoped my luck would continue here in Lawrence. It did! It was very easy to make an appointment online, and the store manager was prompt in responding and scheduling me. I was treated courteously and professionally, and they got my car done right on time. The manager was clear about explaining my charges from that day, as well as the most important next steps for my vehicle to stay well-maintained and provided quotes for those. I trust Midas to take care of my car and provide great service to me.

My brakes were making a noise so I went online and made an appt for the following day, got a prompt response back confirming. I dropped my car off late morning expecting that I would end up having more issues than just the brake pads replaced. (Mind you I got my brakes done a year ago). They called me in the afternoon as I had set up a time I would need to pick my car up. They inspected it, said your brakes are great, just back brake plate was out of place, hence the noise. No cost. Amazing process and employees. I will be back and I encourage others to come here. They could have easily said, ya your pads are worn, and changed them and gotten money out of me. Honest, professional business. Thank you!!!!

My son, who is a student at KU, took his car to the Lawrence Midas on April 9, 2021 for a routine oil change. On May 21, while driving in Lawrence, his car conked. After sitting for a few hours, he was able to get it started and drove it short distances for a month, having no problems. On July 31, he headed Colorado, but broke down on I-70 and couldnt get his car started. We had his car towed to Denver, where a mechanic was able to look at it. Within 30 minutes, the mechanic isolated/identified the problem as an engine air filter that had been put in backwards, causing the sensor to clog. Apparently, the Midas technician, when performing the Midas Touch Courtesy Check, had checked the filter, and put it back in backwards. In total, this error came at a cost to us of around $500. I do not recommend this Midas.

Simply asked if they had a lug identification tool to check if my lug pattern on my aftermarket wheels was 8x170mm. Guy behind the desk goes “sounds like you got the wrong tires” was extremely rude. Refused to help, he was absolutely clueless. The next place down the street helped me with what I was needing. Wouldn’t recommend going to a place like midas if they can’t comprehend what they “specialize” in.

I am extremely astounded at the quality of care I received from Loni Ogden at Midas on Iowa St. The prices were competitive, the customer care was knowledgable, expert level, and most importantly honest! I will exclusively be taking my truck to Midas on Iowa due to the service I received today. My fiancee and I are not from around here. Numerous times we have been run the gambit on by mechanics trying to take advantage of us. Moreover this truck is very special to me. Its all I have left from my fathers passing. Nobody touches it unless I trust them AND I TRUST LONI AT MIDAS!!I was provided with a brake inspection and engine inspection along with given a run down of all the necessary repairs at a competitive price. Loni should be running a Masterclass for local mechanic because Loni was some how able to fix an irritable squeak I was getting from the suspension. KUDOS to you LONI. You got a customer in me!Might I add; the Service was timely, proficient, courteous, and accurate!

I highly recommend the services of Zach T and Loni Ogden!My husband has sought services here at Midas going on numerous occasions and he has always returned noting the inexpensiveness of the procedures, the honesty (which he values greatly), the quality customer service, the very knowledgable aid he receives by the staff, and the unparalleled timeliness of the service he receives. Virgil (my husband) has a very deep love for his truck (his now late fathers truck) He is very pedantic and meticulous as to who can work on his truck to this front he is also very stubborn and exacting with the quality of service that he receives. Our family greatly depends on this truck since we are a one vehicle family and travel often for work.Virgil holds Loni, Zach and the rest of the Midas team at Lawrence with very high opinion and praise and does not fall short in complimenting their work. Today he received a very inexpensive alignment and now trusts me hitting 80mph on the K10 on our way to work. He will be returning this week to obtain a full computerized diagnostic and will be looking to replace the shock absorbers.He really enjoys the fact that the team walks him through the work that needs to be done and will often let him inspect the damaged parts as they are on the vehicle itself. Even on busy days with numerous customers they take the time to allow him to inspect the truck with him present. He greatly appreciates this the quality of the trucks health effects our safety on the road ways.Zach gave Virgil a full run through of necessary repairs, parts and labor breakdown in a fair and efficient way. Loni even took the time to explain why we may be feeling a lack of acceleration.Virgil and I greatly appreciate Midas and will only be going here for any future repairs!

We had a transmission leak fixed from a MIDAS in Bethesda in the fall/summer of 2020, however the transmission box continued to leak. We took it to the MIDAS in Lawrence and after two visits (one to clean/test the area, the second to evaluate and fix), the manager provided excellent care and took care of the repair at no cost. The MIDAS in Bethesda is no longer open due to poor reviews. I would return to this MIDAS as they were honest and open about the issue and resolutions.

Took my car to Midas for an Oil change, brakes and rotors replaced and a wiper replacement. Dropped my car off at 10am, picked it up at 3pm. Paid them almost $600 and once I get home and they call and tell me they forgot to do the oil change............ now I have to make time in my schedule to go BACK for an oil change I should have gotten while they had my car for 5 hours. Customer service was cool until this happened.

My car overheated and had to be towed to this shop. I contacted Cole before it arrived and he was very friendly, helpful and willing to get my car in before they closed. It barely made it before they closed and he still took the time to check it out because he knew I was out of town. I would’ve probably had to leave my car in Lawrence had I gone to another shop. He stayed late to help me. The computer needed to be reset due to being low on coolant. When I arrived to get my car the hood was up to keep cool and he had topped off my coolant and gave me instructions to get back to Kansas City in case I had trouble. He told me what he thought was possibly wrong and to have it checked out as soon as possible in KC. He even removed an old lift piece that another shop had left under my car in concern that it may come loose on the highway. I made it back to KC no problem. Cole is a great guy and after dealing with him I’m sure he is very fair and honest. We need more people like this in the world. I am going to look for the Midas shop near me in KC hoping that they have someone running their location as good as Cole. Thank you for turning a bad day into a better one.

Loni Ogden, manager, and his crew of mechanics did an excellent job of describing the work to be completed and fully explained the price quote, associated costs, and how long to expect the vehicle to be in the shop.Also, the lead mechanic put my vehicle up on a lift to show me exactly how they would go about replacing the catalytic converter, replacing the transmission filter and then drain/replace the transmission fluid.Most notable is that they welcome customers to come into the work area and view their vehicles both before and during the work process. You wont find this at the dealerships where they run you out of the drive bays!!! eg. HondaMidas has my confidence that theyll do an excellent all-around job at a reasonable price!!!Satisfied customer

Took car there for a 2 hour job on a Saturday morning. They broke a part while replacing the wheel bearing. Said itd be ready first thing Monday morning. Waited Monday no call finally called them they said theyd ordered the wrong part and was waiting for the new part would be ready first thing Tuesday morning. Tuesday morning came and went no call. Called them they said they had put the wheel bearing on wrong and they were installing another one. They close at 6pm. No call saying it was done. We called a little after 6pm and they said it was done and had been done for awhile. They never called us to let us know it was done. So a 2 hour job ended up taking 3 full days. Management made it right and fixed everything. They went above and beyond to make it right.

Commendations go out this store in taking care of ny grandson who is a freshman at KU and away from home. In November of 2019, Midas employees helped my grandson get his flat tire fixed, checked out his flat donut, gave a great deal on a new set of tires and basically got my grandson up and going again. In February of 2020, my grandson was preparing to travel back home but found his Sentra TPM was malfunctioning. I had him go to Midas and they checked it out and reported it was due to the extreme bitter cold, they quickly fixed him up and he was able to make the drive home. Today, June 12, 2020, employees again went out of their way to get my grandson’s car looked at and fixed quickly. This time it was replacing a set of missing clamps on a flap in the wheel well that kept rubbing when he turned. Not remarkable in and of itself but it was done while dealing with a highly disagreeable and immature customer that made it necessary for the technician, Cole, to lie on hot asphalt to do it as the disagreeable customer’s car blocked entrance into the shop and the customer was causing unnecessary drama with the technicians. Cole then helped direct my grandson safely around the vehicle blocking his way. Huge kudos to Cole and thank you all at this Midas shop for taking stellar care of my grandson! It means the world to this grandma!

The staff is always very kind, but its absolutely the slowest oil change Ive ever had. It typically takes anywhere from 1.5 - 2 hours depending upon how busy they are. My car is very basic and doesnt usually require much attention.Despite the slow service, I would recommend because of the staff. Theyre always willing to help and answer any questions I have!

I have been going to Midas in Lawrence for 15+ years and have always received excellent service at a fair price. When I brought my car in for an oil change on Saturday, February 9, I was told that my car needed new brakes. When I reviewed the diagnostic report it showed that I have a great deal of pad remaining on my brakes. I did not receive a satisfactory answer regarding the discrepancy. I will still go to Midas but may use their Olathe location.

The best car service I have ever received. The manager here, Lonnie, knows my entire family by name and all 3 of our cars inside and out. We always recieve honest recommendations on services needed and explanations so we can better understand what out cars need. Went in for an impromptu oil change. They accommodated me. I asked them if coolant was included they said no. I asked then to top it off as I knew it was low. When asked how much. They said if less than 1/2 quart no charge. I make it 1/2 to Springfield mo. Restrooms. Break. While waiting I check and its still low. Now I need to look at my receipt and see if they charged me.

Im rating one star only because thats the minimum allowed - truly, it deserves less. This was my worst routine maintenance experience in 25 years of vehicle ownership. I walked into the store to about availability for an oil change appointment and was told they had openings at 4:30 and 5 that day. I requested 4:30, gave them my vehicle information and a coupon, and received email confirmation. When I arrived at 4:15, they were unable to check in my Jeep because the computer was down. Finally, after 15 minutes, they finished the paperwork for my appointment.A little after 5, the service representative came in to tell me that they were having problems with the drain plug and it might take a little longer than an hour to complete. This wasnt good news, but my vehicle was already in the shop so I didnt think I had any alternative to waiting. About 5:30, a different technician (who had made the original appointment) came in to say that they couldnt remove the drain plug. He asked who had done the last oil change, and I told him the local Jeep dealership which had since gone out of business. He said the dealership had over-tightened and none of his employees had an air hammer, which was necessary to get it off. I explained that I had occasionally used other shops when traveling and this had never been a problem, so I wasnt sure why this time would be different. He continued to blame the problem on the dealership and insist that he didnt have the proper tools to complete the oil change. Finally, he suggested that I take the vehicle to the now-closed dealerships other location, 30 miles away in Topeka.The next day, I took the Jeep to Jiffy Lube and they were able to complete the oil change in less than 45 minutes. I have previously used Midas services with another vehicle 5-10 years ago when I lived in the Washington, DC, area, and never had service this terrible. I dont know whether policies have changed since then, or if the Lawrence store is just poorly-operated, but it was completely unacceptable.

During an oil change on my daughters car part of her front grill popped off..a couple clips broke. Loni ordered all the parts necessary to fix it like new. He worked with my daughters work and school schedules to find a time that worked for her to get it in and get it fixed at no cost to her. We got it back looking like new. Loni and his guys are great to work with. I would definitely recommend them for anything. Thanks guys

I went here for an oil change after receiving a coupon in the mail. They wouldnt honor the coupon because they said my car needs high mileage fuel - which the coupon said nothing about - so I paid twice as much as I had expected to. They also did and charged me for a tire rotation, without asking me. First, my car has a tire key, which they dug through my glove box for (once again without asking me), and when I got back in my car the contents of my glove box were in the floor. Second, I didnt even need a tire rotation! I have it done for free at the place I bought the tires!Several days later, I noticed that what appeared to be oil was dripping under my car. In all the years Ive had the car, Ive never had that issue, so I took it back to Midas. After waiting more than an hour, they wanted a ridiculous amount of money to put dye in the engine and have me bring it back later to see where the leak was. When my wife, tried to ask questions, the technician was rude to the both of us and acted like her questions were ridiculous.We left and took my car back to the dealership Id always brought it to in the past, where I learned there wasnt a leak at all! The Midas guys just made a massive mess, didnt clean up after themselves, and when they couldnt figure that out they tried to take it out on my wallet. When my wife tried to call the Midas customer service line, no one answered.TLDR: overpriced for shoddy work. I have never been this disappointed with a customer service experience. Would not recommend to a friend.
