Update: my original review is below this update, but after writing my negative review I was able to make contact with Brian from the management team. He worked with the managers to find a solution to my concerns. I’m glad I was able to get in contact with him to find a resolution. If you are also having issues at this dealership, I encourage you to reach out to him.The original review: One of the WORST car buying experiences I’ve had. Very unorganized in the sales department. The process of buying was made more difficult because they weren’t very competent in their jobs. Don’t trust their “certified” pre-owned talk either. I bought 2 vehicles at the same time (a 2016 & 2020), and both had issues being able to start just weeks after purchasing. Whenever I brought it back to them to have them fix the issues that I drove off the lot with, they were still going to charge me to “diagnose” the issue, even when I told them exactly what the issue was. On the plus side, their service department staff was competent and professional.

While traveling across the USA my 2020 Chevy 3500 had a low level light warning on my coolant. I did not have an appointment and I pulled in 30 minutes before they closed. Their service department was awesome and filled my coolant up on the spot and no charge. They were professional and very nice to me. I would highly recommend them to anyone who needs service. Brought in Accord for oil change and tire rotation. Notice the scratched rim was still in the same place when picking up car. Asked clerk if tires rotated. They said yes. I said “are you sure?” They even had another clerk look over invoice and reply was still yes. Had them ask tech and he said he didn’t rotate tires. So they were going to charge me for work not done. Asked for a discount for the lies and they said NO.

Well for starters I hit a deer first time ever. Brought my truck in as that is where I purchased it from here last year. Got on the phone with my insurance while at Dale Willey Body Shop they were able to get the process started. The guys took good care of my truck while it was there. They fixed anything they found damaged due to the accident. After all that work they even detailed my truck inside and out. Was very pleased that they went that extra step to do that. It was like getting my truck when I bought it all over again, the new truck smell inside, clean, and shining exterior. I was super excited to get it back. Thanks to everyone who worked on it.

Shannon was great. He listened and understood right away that I was going to be particular. He would check in with me from time to time. He told me several times that he respected my vision of the perfect truck. Obviously, he kept a close eye out, because when the perfect truck came along, he called immediately. Now its in my garage. :)

I was impressed from the beginning (to end) and it started when the sales consultant greeted me and my family at the door. I let Aaron know what I needed and what I was interested in and he promptly showed me to a line of available new vehicles. Then we took 2 for a test drive. I was impressed by his professionalism, kindness and knowledge of both vehicles. It helped me narrow down my decision to buy. Then he helped us through the paperwork process and finance portion with ease. Definitely above and beyond my expectations. Thanks!

UPDATED: I have updated my review to reflect Dale Willeys excellent customer service follow-up regarding our issue. Brian took the time to reach out, find out the details of what happened, and make it right for our family. We are very satisfied with the outcome and plan on continuing to have our vehicle serviced here. He cared not only about what happened, but also how they can improve moving forward. It is refreshing to find a business that genuinely cares about their customers.Initial review for context: I was so frustrated with my recent service experience. I came in for an oil change. My Chevy app had suggested some service check-up. I mentioned this at the time of the appointment, and the attendant made a note to chat more about it the day of. When I came in yesterday, I had forgotten about it due to so many other things going on. NO ONE mentioned charging $75 for tire balancing. It wasnt mentioned when I checked in, and no one asked if that was ok. $75 JUST to balance tires that I dont even know needed it. Unbelievable. I am very frustrated and VERY disappointed. A few minutes of communication go a long way.

If your car has issues, take it elsewhere!! We started having AC issues last August, and we were told we needed a whole new condenser. We chose to have that fixed. At the time, we were also told the car needed new back shocks, but we passed on those. After getting a second opinion about the shocks at another shop, it was confirmed they never needed replaced to begin with. Fast forward to the beginning of this summer, and our AC doesnt work again. We took it in and we were told it was only low on freon, and that it was not the condenser or any other issue they could find. Fast forward again 3 weeks later and our AC is not working AGAIN. We have called multiple times, and they refuse to warranty the part or the labor from either time, that ultimately fixed nothing. We are out thousands of dollars, and the original issue was never fixed. Save your money and have your car serviced elsewhere. Disappointed is an understatement. **In response to your side of the story. The communication between your staff is so inconsistent. Emily, our service tech, was VERY aware that we were moving across the country in 2 days, and therefore the idea that we would be able to come back in 14 days was never the case, and she knew that. We were told by her that if we had issues in our new location that it would be paid for in full by your dealership to have it fixed down here. After my conversation with the service manager yesterday, that is not the case. We have taken it in to a dealership here, but will be forced to pay out of pocket once again for an issue that was never fixed. She also informed us that our condenser would be warrantied for 24 months, not 12. That was another major off putting thing about the whole experience. We were told whatever was needed to get us out the door at the time, and now, when issues are arising, everything that was said to us has changed. As a consumer, I feel completely taken advantage of. We were lied to, and instead of standing by your work and trying to make this right, you are hiding behind every excuse you can find, and passing us off to the next dealership. **

I took my car in to Dale Willey for an issue that another dealership charged me to not fix and after I paid the $1030 I had the exact same problem once again. They said bring it back but I cant trust driving it so I was unable to get the car to them. All they did was put a battery in it and replace a solenoid. This is the second time I have begged to have someone be thorough and fix my car but I guess dealerships dont really listen to their customers so I will never do business with Dale Willey again.

Service was for the battery recall for a Chevy Bolt, and for squeaky suspension on cold or wet conditions.At the time of making the appointment, I was told the car would be reprogrammed to Chevrolets recommended guidelines for the ongoing recall, the car would be given a full charge, and the suspension would be examined.The reprogramming was completed, but they could not recreate the squeaking sound from the suspension. They provided an email to send a recording of it on a cold and wet morning and I plan to do so in the next few days. One other issue was that the car was not charged when I picked it up. Time at service center was from 9:30am to 5:30pm. I called Service for this location to make sure I didnt need to bring my own charger, and was told that they try to charge it as much as they can. That day was busy, so the spot with the charger had to be moved with different cars during the day.Other than the charge issue, I was decently satisfied with service.

$169 for an oil change, tire rotation and balance is ridiculous. Granted there was a 10k mile inspection when I had a little over 7K on my vehicle. Still that is a lot of money. Happy with customer service at the Service Department, happy with service and attention I received when I bought my Terrain, but not happy with the amount I was charged. Originally I had a Jeep at Briggs. Once Dale Willey took over the price of oil change and tire rotation skyrocketed and they would not honor the free tire rotation since I bought the tires from Briggs. So would I buy another vehicle from Dale Willey. Not sure.

Do not buy from this place. They will scam your warranty. It is worthless there. Had a problem with a truck. I brought it in again and again and they kept saying nothing was wrong with it. I even told them what the problem probably was, they just switched the engine warning light off and told me there was nothing wrong every time. Problem kept happening, so I kept bringing it in while under warranty. Same thing every time. Finally, the warranty expires and I bring it in again for the same problem,THEN that time [despite bringing it in for the same problem a week earlier while under warranty] they magically find the problem [which is what I told them it probably was] and they want to now charge me almost 6000 dollars. They basically refused to fix the car for months, scamming the customer saying there was no problem, cause my warranty was coming up so they could charge me after it to fix.When I complained they literally sent me an official letter banning me from their dealership despite me not yelling or cursing or anything.Do not buy from these people. Go ahead and test drive their cars but then just tell them you have to buy it somewhere else like in Kansas City or Topeka because you cant trust them.

Im disappointed in the experience I had with this place. The sales part of the process was awesome and Chase Branson was very helpful in helping me select a used car. I bought the car in November and now in April I realize the A/C doesnt work . They say it passed inspection before sold but I dont know how that can be if the unit hasnt been used in 5 months and now doesnt work!? Now the expense is on me to fix it. Truck lost a sensor that tells the transmission when to shift when i was about 5 miles from dealership. Called them up and they had me bring it right over and had it fixed by close that day. Getting that kind of service only happens at Dale Willey. Thats why I keep going back.

The service technicians at the counter are top notch: super friendly, explain things the best they can.The service itself - do yourself a favor and get a second opinion before committing. I was told my transmission needed replaced at a whopping $5700, took it to a transmission place in Olathe - turns out I only needed a converter replaced and cost me $1500. Even their quote on the phone for a new transmission was $2000 less.I’ve taken my car here for oil changes and tire rotations for several years, have even considered buying a car from here when it’s time. After this experience they have lost my business. I could have really been taken advantage of had I not followed my gut and got another opinion. Why do dealerships do this? Aren’t they supposed to be known for honesty?

Dont let them do the all points inspection unless you really need it. You will get hit with a $176 charge. I received a recall notice from GM for an air bag replacement in my Vibe. This was to be paid by the manufacturer. I asked that as long as the car was there that they replace the window wiper and spring on the back window and the positive battery terminal. I left the car all day and returned at about 5 pm. They had completed the air bag replacement and done the all points inspection but not the two simple things Id asked for. $176 charge to tell me that I needed a battery terminal and new wiper blade -- the very things Id asked them to do not done.

There was a problem with tie rod. The car only had 6000 miles on it. He had 500 miles on it when I bought it. I didn’t do anything to the vehicle. I only drive it average of 22 miles a day. Spoke with service, sales and general manager with no help. Also, day I went to pick my vehicle up the owners was there. When I asked to speak with owner they sent me someone else. Never will buy a car from them again. Paid at least $44,000 plus trade in 6000. Made sure I posted it on Facebook.

I recently moved to New England, and had returned to get the second trailer. It was time for an oil change and tire rotation. While checking the air and cabin filters, the tech discovered a rodent nest in the cabin ductwork. He vacuumed it out, changed the air and cabin filters, and let me know what was going on. First used vehicle I bought here was great! If I had a problem it was fixed quickly, but the second vehicle. Terrible. Was told it had an extended warranty with the vehicle, but it didnt. We have never had to use the courtesy vehicle for pick up before. However I was not feeling well in the afternoon when the vehicle was ready. My husband called for a pick up by the courtesy vehicle and he was very impressed with his attitude and kindness. We started leaking fuel so I called my place immediately they said they wouldn’t be able to get it in because they were booked but to go ahead and bring it and they were trying to work us in. They were able to work us in but the part was gonna be back ordered with an unknown date. Several days later I got a call saying that the part came in and they put it in the same day. My wife and I bought a Jeep from them in November. After they filled out the paperwork with incorrect information, they failed to give us a title for the vehicle. It took over 2 months to receive the title from them, which made us have to pay a late fee when we went to title the Jeep. We contacted them hoping they would cover the cost but never heard back from them. Pretty evident that the customer service ends once they have your money.

My wife and I, Obtained a 2013 Chevy Avalanche through the Lawrence, KS dealership off Iowa. The service and “experience” overall was fair. My wife and I went in knowing what we wanted. They were helpful in regards to purchasing the vehicle but when it came to Prior issues the service was below par. The motor in the driver seat didn’t move up or down and after repeatedly mentioning this issue to the salesman (Mike) each time he came back from talking to the manager he claimed to “forgetting to mention it to his sales manager.” After the third time, I briefly stepped away and upon returning papers were presented excluding fixing the seat due to “it costing the dealership too much than it would take for us (the buyer) to fix it out of pocket.” I also found that upon leaving a bulb in the driver headlight was blown. In all I got the car that I wanted at a reasonable price, but I’ve had it two days and I’m already putting money into it. The seat however, is locked in its highest position which is fine when I have a slide to swiftly lower myself out, but I don’t have a slide.

For a GM dealer they behave much more akin to a Carhop or buy here-pay here lot. Purchased a GMC Denali, with the extended warranty. In less than 6 months the A/C Actuator stuck, the battery completely died, and the catalytic converter went out. Service required us to bring the SUV into the shop, where they charged us a diagnostic. The battery cost over $100 to replace (not covered under their extended warranty). The A/C Actuator was over $500 to replace (not covered under their extended warranty). The Catalytic converter they wouldnt provide a price over the phone, and instead insisted on forcing us to drive back into the shop so they could charge another diagnostic (despite the check engine light being on following the last diagnostic) and the service tech said I dont know if its covered, Im not the warranty department.The Used Car Manager Steven Cain, when told of our debacle said, if we replaced everything on our cars to make our customers happy, wed go out of business. There you have it. The Used Car Manager said their profit model is based on sticking customers with whatever problems the cars on their lot have, and their customer service is more of a not my problem approach.Buyer beware. Horrible shady used car salesmen. Worthless customer service. No attention to detail in the service shop. No response from upper management or corporate. Stay far away from this unscrupulous dealer.

Hailey in service is always pleasant and nice to work with! I have some major engine workDone in past that wasn’t pleased with the management but I still prefer to deal local! Just wish I could work and get the same deals as I have seen online for my next vehicle but my buying experience hasn’t been the best in past years as I have never purchased fromDale Willey as never could match anyone else! And know that your the dealer for both Chevrolet and gmc my choice ofVehicle would be nice to stay home on my next purchase! Stated that my friend needed a new engine and it was his fault due to no oil. Got there and it was full of oil.. they stated they put oil back in it but the oil was black, so obviously lied. Quoted 6-8k for a replacement on a 38k mile car. Towed it to topeka and they replaced the turbocharger under warranty.

Doug is an excellent salesmen. He makes sure that you get the car you need and is very kind. He help us so much and brought the car to the house so that my mother could see the car, do to a disability. He walked us through everything and made the transaction very smooth. My only complaint is, when you make an appointment, you generally expect to be serviced some time close to that appointment time. My appointment was for 10am. I received my vehicle at 4:45. And we were waiting.

It took 6 hours to change my oil and check out my USB port that will not play. No resolution. Your GMC cite was down and I could not redeem any of my points. No help from GMC customer service nor the dealer. Very poor service from Dale Willey and GMC.
