I recently switched to this Giant. There are about 5 or more large kudos I have for this store. The best of all is the self checkout area. They have more than enough registers and only one person handles problems, questions and customer flow. BUT they do this quickly, efficiently and are always beyond friendly! Ive seen this with every staff person Ive seen working in this area. am loving this store!

Hi I have to say there shelfs are better stocked then weis, Safeway and I really dont do shoppers, food lion. There staff is friendly and helpful and the deli thumbs up they know how to slice meat the way you want it ! ! Good sales this week

I was helping my parents with grocery shopping so I had a large order, divider, 2 items. As I was using the credit card machine, the cashier asked about my second order so I absently said it was mine. She decides this means she should ring it through immediately. What was she thinking? I clearly wanted to divide the orders. Giant needs to train their cashiers better.

It is a very good Giant. The staff is friendly and the store is pretty clean. Great deli and produce.

Its clean, stocks always fresh and neatly in place. You get almost all the household needs in one place.

I love Giant but this one is always over-crowded, there are not enough cashiers and they never seem to have fresh scallops. And there have been times when I’ve asked for fresh salmon and they’ve asked, “Well, you don’t want the already-packaged salmon?” Well, if I did, I wouldn’t have asked for the fresh one, right...? They also don’t have a lot of food items that I’m looking for— it’s kind of like a strike of good luck if I can actually find what I’m looking for. But other than that, most of the cashiers are pretty nice to me and my kids.

Ive been shopping at Giant my whole life. (Im 51.) Some are great like the one in Mclean, VA. The one here in Laurel MD. is a smaller vintage store. a little disheveled at times. I was super verbally attacked by a mentally disturbed woman . The store security guard was qlabout 5 feet away and did/said nothing. (After she dug into me the second time, I took care of it myself!) There are loads of great grocery stores nearby. I suggest passing this one up.

I had a cart filled with nearly 400$ in groceries. The employee at the self checkout first told me to grab an empty cart. So I walked outside to grab another cart to begin my scanning. Not even 5 items into my scanning she comes over and claims I’m stealing merchandise and that I’m not scanning yet everything that was in the cart was on the screen. She then insisted that I go to a cashier and I told her no, I will stick right here and continue doing this myself like I’ve always done. She then said she was going to grab a manager, the manager didn’t even say anything to me, instead she walked up to the employee and she THOUGHT she could whisper but she was heard clear as day saying “security and LPD are notified” at this point I’m furious, embarrassed and feel beyond disrespected because I’ve NEVER experienced this over the hundreds of times I’ve shopped here. So I continue doing what I’m doing and pay my nearly 400$ bill and I grab my receipt and walk straight to the manager and tell her “so what do you need to scan???? Take your pick cause I pay for all my stuff!” She just looked dumbfounded. They treat people at this store with total disgust if you don’t dress all fancy. I had just gotten off my construction job and grabbed groceries on the way home and I get accused of being a thief...... this store has officially disgusted me smfh, Harris teeter getting my money from now onOn a side note- their produce is disgusting and damn near always rotten or close to it......

It’s an okay place to shop. Consistently people smell of weed, especially at night. I always manage to find what I need in a pinch. They make good desserts.

Hot bar fish is a lot of misses.. Old uneatable and chicken...

Clean, pristine and pristine laid out! Love the amount of options they had available. Vegan options, pre mades, and healthy hands were all in one vicinity. For those of us that travel in a regular. This is an amazing gem to find! Staff was polite, the bathrooms were clean. The checkout was a breeze.

This giant always run out of lactaid lactose - free whole milk. Also, they typically are low on groceries. Hope they can fix this!

Upon recommendation we ordered the holiday turkey thanksgiving dinner. The Turkey was really good but none of us liked the sides. The mashed potatoes after being cooked were like water and runny as were the mashed sweet potatoes, the green bean casserole was just yucky. The herb stuffing that ended up being cornbread dressing thickened up a bit after cooking but the consistency wasnt so great. I wouldnt order again. We did it this year because my husband was hit by a car and I couldnt take the time to cook this year.

You guys don’t prioritize restocking gluten free foods. I have celiacs disease and my diet is very restricted because I have food allergies. You’re always out of the Amy’s bakery gluten free macaroni and to those people that are gluten free for a fad diet: if you can eat gluten then eat it, I have celiacs disease and you buying gluten free foods means there’s less for those who don’t have an option. Please for the love of god make restocking gluten free foods a priority. Not just for me but for others that have celiacs disease. It’s not fun having to pay more for gluten free foods and it’s even more not fun when it’s never restocked.

This is the worst store! I asked an associate for help and he let another customer hijack him in the middle of him helping me and he didnt return when she walked away. Im always given another reason not to shop here every time I come. 0/10.

Ive been to this Giant many times and my office is a 5 min walk away. This was the first time I used order pick up with Giant because I was short on time. Ive used Pea Pod delivery many times where I live without any issues. I wouldnt use order pick up at this location again. 1) My pick time was scheduled on a Saturday morning at 10am. I arrived at 9:55am and waited a few minutes before I realized that I never received a confirmation that my order was ready to be picked up or was being worked on. 2) At 10:05am I called the store to see if my items were ready since I never received a confirmation. The employee seemed surprised that I was in the parking lot. 3) The employee puts the stuff in my trunk then taps on the window to tell me they were out of 2 items and substituted 2 items. The employee said, we were out of this and this and substituted this and this (as shes pointing the paper that I cant see). I said whats this and this? Feeling a little more annoyed, then she explained. 4) AFTER I left Giant, I received the confirmation that they were working on my order. 5) I ordered organic spring mix which had a best buy date of 12/14 though I picked up my groceries on 12/12. So essentially I had 2 days to eat the salad or money would be wasted. 6) This one is more about the mentality of the shoppers. There is about 8 or 9 MARKED pick up parking spots in the lot. As I was waiting for my groceries, there was 3 different shoppers who parked their vehicles in the pick up spots and went inside to grocery shop because they couldnt be bothered with parking a little further away or respecting the policy. People are so selfish. Bottomline, if youre short on time, I would NOT recommend ordering online to pick up at this location.

Its ok. Shelves are stocked. Produce is generally ok. Some staff is friendly; most isnt. The bathrooms are disgusting and NEVER have toilet paper.

Ive been shopping at this grocery store for 37 years and through two expansions! Giant has a good selection of ethnic foods and a small health food shop which even includes some grain-free items(important in my world). The store is clean and the management has taken precautions during pandemic including making aisles one-way. However, be forewarned - lots of people shop at this Giant so it takes a little work to stay social-distanced!

I really enjoy shopping at this Giant and will bypass the one closer to me in order to come here. The folks who work here have always been kind and helpful. The foods I am looking for are readily available even for last minute holiday dishes. Beside the food variety, they also carry many diverse ethnocentric products as well. Very thoughtfully done. The store is well kept and has an overall positive and friendly atmosphere.

Prices are high for the quality of their products. Store smells weird upon entering.

I had to go to the Pharmacy to have my first vaccination foe Covid 19.

The Giant Food app is great!!! I love the digital coupons and the freebies that let me try new items throughout the year. My Fairlawn Giant has a lot of nice employees that I have come to know over the years and the sales are great in addition to my digital coupons. Stores always clean and organized.

Well I came there to pickup some Hawaiian bread and some potatoes salad, the check out lines were very so I decided to use the self checkout.

Pleasantly surprised at the courtesy of all customers, all workers and checkers, a head counter at front door to keep down crowding, shelves fully stocked on all ailes. Really nice to be able to be able to leave store having obtained needed items.

Coming from Miami Florida to Maryland I miss having a Publix therefore this store doesnt compare. However its the best place that I have found so far. They have awesome sales and prices arent too bad.

This is a very good spot to go. Its always very well stocked and the staff is friendly. Always plenty of parking. The Salad Bar might get a little crazy, because its GOOD! Get there early. Also found my favorite Gluten Free items here. Awesome Health Food Section!!!

There is a lot of competition (Safeway, Harris teeter, 2 Shoppers, and a Super Walmart) around but Giant beasts them all.Prices: They always have the lowest and most reasonable prices. If you dont have a giant rewards card youre missing out.Service: The cashiers and all the other staff members are very friendly and knowledgeable about the store and what they keep in stock.Sanitation: They store is very clean. Floors are always shiny and to this day I have never seen a spill or a speck of dirt.Cons: The only thing I dont like about this store is the Bakery counter. Dont get me wrong the baked good are delicious. But I have been there many things and 15/20 times there was no one there to assist me.

My mom went to the bakery section to get a birthday cake for her cousin. The lady was being rude to begin with. We got the cake after she wrote “ happy birthday “ I, in all my years, have never seen such bad handwriting on a cake. She even scraped the side of the cake w/ the lid. Anyways, my mom said thank you happy new year & she didn’t even look at her, she completely ignored her. I don’t know why they would hire someone in the bakery section who has bad handwriting. It looked like a 5yr old wrote it. Then we went to the floral section & wanted to get balloons inflated, they took forever!!! We ended up leaving

Good luck with gaining employment at this Giant Food location. The HR representative Chandra is VERY unprofessional. I was asked to come in and bring your IDs for an in-person interview at 1:00 pm. I arrived at 12:45 PM and was told Chandra is at lunch. Take a seat and I will let her know you arrived 15 minutes early. At 1:10 pm a very helpful team member approached me and said, Chandra is back from lunch but is on a 1 PM conference call. She NEVER left her office to come and greet me and I NEVER heard from her again. One week later I received a voicemail message from the Store Manager (Donna Maloney) asking if I was still interested in employment. Customer service/Chandra would not let me speak directly to the store manager. Needless-to-say, I was not able to speak with Donna and would never consider working at this location. Its obvious the work environment is TOXIC with a revoloving employment door. My experience was very unacceptable and Chandra should be fired as Gaints HR representative. Shes rude, unprofessional, disrespectful, and displays a poor character for a HR representative assisting people with employment. GET rid of her!!!! Why? Because shes has NO respect for her position.

This has been and always will be a horrible Giant. There are just so many rude customers and employees here. Its repulsive also. I saw an eaten chicken wing from the hot bar just sitting on loose russet potatoes. Absolutely filthy. I told the self checkout girl Have a great day and she just stared at me. No common courtesy at all. That is Laurel, MD for you.

Mr.Gibbs is the absolute best when it comes to managing the giant food at laurel md giant. He pays attention to all the details of the customer and makes sure you leave out smiling I love the way the store is always stocked freshly for the item of everyday need thanks Mr. Gibbs keep up the great work 👍🏽

This Location has a very limited selection of common items. The refrigerator section was completely closed off. We had to go somewhere else to shop. We will not be returning. We used to do all our shopping here but after the last experience we continue to shop elsewhere. A sign on the door stating the refrigerator section was closed would have been appreciated.
