DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE.They’ve had my vehicle for 9 months. When they returned my vehicle the 1st time, it stopped working a block away from their establishment. The 2nd time they returned my vehicle, it stopped working a few hours after I picked it up. They guaranteed both times that my vehicle was fully repaired and working properly. They charged me close to 2k for the “repairs”. After I requested my money back, they refused to reimburse me and even asked that I pay more money for additional repairs. The mechanics in that shop were on my side, but the “managers” refused to make things right. STAY AWAY!!!

Great service. A bit pricey, but you get what you pay for. We take our vehicles for diagnostic services and decide from there if its something we can fix or have them fix the problem.

Not sure to believe their warranty for life. Had my car initially serviced in Laredo, when it started acting up, I took it to the Elmendorf location since it was closer. Supposedly there was nothing wrong, but my mechanic found that they hadnt even inspected it, and the leak that was allegedlyfixed hadnt been. So, I had to replace the part again. So much for the life warranty!? Grrr... P.S. My car was so dirty under the hood that there was no trace of anyone checking it out. All they did was reset the service engine soon light. Buyer, beware.

I made a stop at their shop to ask for an estimate of a paint job on my vehicle. The guy who was helping me went outside to take a look at my vehicle and took a couple of notes. He asked for my name, phone #, and email - you know, the simple stuff. I was told that they would email me the quote in 3 days. Come the 5th day I see no email, so I call and I am told once again “they will email your quote today ma’am, they just haven’t gotten to it”. Point of the story is, why do they make false statements? It’s been 5 months already and still no quote or apology has been sent. This is very unprofessional from their part and it seems like something they do often to other people judging from their other ratings. These people have very bad work ethics. I took my business elsewhere and am happy with the results. Thank goodness there are better business out there with much better customer service! It seems like these guys are good at just wasting your time!

Id definitely recommend them to someone who looking for a really good mechanic:) it can be a bit pricey (idk thats just my experience) but Id rather pay for quality work that I know will last

STAR does fantastic work and are the most honest people you can deal with. They will shoot straight with you and treat you fairly. They also do great work and figure out exactly what needs to be done without upselling you on things you dont need to have done.

There pretty good. They just take awhile 😂. But, if you have time there prices a fair.

My windshield was crushed by a huge rock on Loop 20. South Texas Auto Rebuilders ordered a new windshield for me and made sure it was the correct model for my car. Was notified to drop off my car which I did at 10am and they had by car ready by 2pm. Communication and service is why I will continue to be a customer here. Thank you!

Very deserving of their 5 star rating. The transmission went out in our vehicle after moving 1000 miles away from our home. We are from TN and being really new here, were nervous to be taken advantage of. My husband is an aircraft mechanic so he knows his stuff but you just never know! Freddy was so professional and kind. If they think I’m going to pay $220 to replace the high beams on my car they’re out of their mind. They said it was because they would have to take off the whole front bumper. That part is true, but I also talked to another auto shop that would have done it for $75. So I took my car back after they told me how much it would cost and then they charged me $65 for the diagnosis since I didn’t want to leave the car with themThese guys may be expensive, but they fixed the problem no other mechanic could figure out here in Laredo.

Very professional. We were in town, family of 3, camping in our RV. Special circumstances, Joe made us feel comfortable and made us a priority so we could get our house back as quickly as possible. Being a rock band on tour is stressful sometimes. Sometimes you wake up and go to start your van and it doesnt turn over. You dont know why or how and havent had enough coffee to know whats going on. This is the exact situation we found ourselves in the day we were slated to drive into Mexico. It was really nerve wracking! We were ready to give up on our 6 week North American tour. Que Joe. We arrived at South Texas Auto Rebuilders (S.T.A.R) and Joe was quick to put us at ease, diagnosing our issue quickly and efficiently, giving us options as to best fit our budget. Our a/c compressor bearing had seized and wouldnt let our engine turn over. We picked up our van and were relieved when the engine started on the first key turn. We were saved! Hands down the best Mechanic shop Ive visited in quite some time. Not only was the service fast and on point, but the customer service was stellar. I highly recommend this place. They are very knowledgeable on what they are doing. They had my car done in 2 to 3 days. I had to have all fuses, wiring, and power steering replaced. They really work with you and help you in any way they can. I was helped every step of the way. Every phone call or questions was answered. Not one disappointment.

The San Antonio Land Rover dealership told me I needed a new engine at a cost of $32,700. They would not install a refurbished engine, but Joe could. Since moving to Laredo I have been to this shop 3-4 for my car and for my husbands car. The customer service is great and the prices cant be beat. My husbands a claims adjuster and knows good deals when he sees them. They treat all their customers like family and get you in and out quickly. Great service. Dropped my car off with some transmission problems and they had it ready in a few days. Didnt cost me much to get fixed either. They probably could have ripped me off (I dont know much about transmissions) but didnt, so Im thankful for that. They seem very honest and they fixed my car is what matters.

I give STAR 5 out of 5 in service and quality of work. When a certain item needed for a repair was no longer available Joe offered an alternative to replace it. The item was quickly installed by his crew, and Im very satisfied with the price, suggested replacement and speed which it was installed.

They replaced the leaf springs on the front of my truck. The price for labor was reasonable. It was about a 3rd of what other places wanted. I supplied my own parts. Other places wont do the work unless they use their own parts which can be very expensive. Would recommend them to others.

I WAS HAVING ISSUES WITH THE ALIGNMENT OF MY TOYOTA TUNDRA. I TOOK IT TO SEVERAL DEALERSHIPS AROUND TOWN AND AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO FIX THE PROBLEM. We have been at the place in order to change the brake pads and rotors repairs. We called and they give us 500 $ quote. When arriving there they told us that the job will be done in 4 hours. We waited until 4 pm from 10 am, more than 6 hours and the job was done only for the forward wheels. The forward wheels paint was damaged. When asking why the job was not done for the back wheels they told me that they make a mistake initially and now will cost 1000 $ if we want also the back wheels done. The manager was very rude calling me Mammon when reporting the damage of the wheels. Stay away of this place.

If you ever had a G.M. or Chevy with the dreaded Service Stabilitrak, or reduced engine power on your display, and not being able to shift out of 1st gear you know the pain and woes that come with it. After endless hours of watching youtube, going online on forums, and hours under the hood to see if I could remedy the problem myself and save money I could not fix the problem. I finally decided to take it to a shop and got various recommendations from coworkers and friends. After going to shop after shop and spending money and time none of them knew what to do. I got tired of getting the run around from mechanics, and spending money on problems that did not get fixed. I decided to try one last shop before I thought about getting something new. I googled and got South Texas Auto Rebuilders, and decided to give it a shot. After describing the problem to the front desk employee named Juan went ahead and took my keys, and I went home. Few days later I received a phone call saying my H2 was ready. I went ahead and overdraft from my bank thinking i was going to pay an arm and a leg but to my surprise it was very reasonable bill compared to the other shops I went too. I been driving my rig for 2 weeks now and no problems whats so ever. Even went to kickapoo, and back had an no problems. Will definitely recommend this shop to friends, family, and coworkers.

May 23 - Took my boyfriends car here because it needed to be serviced and a transmission overhaul done. We were told it would be ready by the end of the week.Friday, May 26 - Called to see if the car was ready, only to find out no one had worked on it because they got the wrong transmission in. Was told it would be one more week. We never got a call Friday.Saturday, June 3 - Called and was told it would be ready Tuesday, they had gotten the wrong transmission AGAIN, but were working on it and servicing the engine as well as looking at the AC.Tuesday came and went, no phone call to let me know if it was ready.Wednesday, June 7 My dad called and told me no one has been working on the car the entire time, since the wrong transmission had came in, they started working on someone elses car. A heads up would have been nice so we could have taken our car elsewhere. At this point the Owner, Joe, steps in and says that no one has been working on our car and they had the wrong transmission. So he made the guys stop messing with the other car and get back on ours. I was told they are working ONLY on my car and it will be Finished Friday/Saturday, but needed to set so we can get it Monday.Monday, June 12 I called. Wrong Transmission. Again. so the Owner put the car on a flatbed and took it to the place they get their parts in order to get the correct one.June 15 FINALLY the car is ready for pick uP. We got it friday June 16, and discovered no one had bothered to service the car or the AC as requested. Thankfully, we were not charged for it, so I plan on taking the car else where.They have shown me a complete lack of basic customer service skills as no one kept the customer up to date on the status of the car, the wrong item was ordered FOUR TIMES so their logic was to work on something else, They didnt even bother do our entire order as we requested. It was to the point the owner had to step in to get anything done. It took them three weeks to do an overhaul on my transmission because they kept getting the wrong parts. I will not be coming to this place ever again.Aug 9 - Since visiting this establishment, because they never serviced the car as requested or checked the A/C we took the car to a different mechanic who is having to do extensive engine repair (but thats a completely different matter), we have now been told by the mechanics the transmission is leaking oil and causing them to take longer to fix our car. So in the end they sold us a complete DUD after a month of waiting!!

Went their for a College Car Readiness class that was very helpful and they even did a quick look over my car just to see if everything was alright. Like tires, fluids and such.

The reviews that are posted are not accurate at all. If walking in and not being acknowledged is, outstanding, and, friendly, staff, then customer service standards must be low. I took my truck for an oil leak problem which was said, by the mechanic, to be coming from the oil pan after they checked the truck for the issue. Two weeks later I got my truck back and to my surprise still had the same problem. After waiting two weeks and spending about $600 dollars on certified mechanics, they checked again and told me the problem was coming from somewhere else in the engine. After telling me the problem was coming from a different area, they wanted to charge me more for a job that should have been checked and done right the first time. I know mistakes are bound to happen, but the least they couldve done was make it right. Not taking my truck back again.

The experience I had with S.T.A.R was extupenda !!! More than very happy I cant see been with them !!Family Chevrolet has given me a diagnosis that my transmission was burned and brought metal in the oil and I needed a new one because I alone became like OMG! This may not be possible so my dad recommended me with STAR and I went and able with Mr. JOE to explain what they told me in the chevy agency and I being from OKLAHOMA told him it is not possible that my vehicle is passing this on He made me feel that everything is going to be ok so he told me leave it here and I have a diagnosis for tomorrow and I dont think it is that his transmission does not work then they talked to me and told me everything is fine just need to change the silinoids and a change of transmission oil and its all !!! SO I WANTED THEM, THEY DID EVERYTHING IN MY SUBURBAN AND IT WORK VERY WELL AND IN COMPARISON TO SPEND $ 5,800 ON A NEW TRANSMISSION THEY COVERED ME VERY LESS THAN $ 1,000 AND I HAVE MY SUBURB RUNNING VERY WELL AND THE DIAGNOSIS THAT CHEED ME BAD MY TRANSMISSION IS WITHOUT METAL AND NOW IN PERFECT CONDITION THANKS TO STAR besides work, everyone has very good charisma and they attend very well to the people ..

Excellent service, we came from Dallas to Mexico and right in Laredo our truck began to warm up, since the truck is a BMW X5, we looked for a Mechanic that could fix this type of truck and we found this mechanic shop, the treatment was excellent and they found The quick problem, which was that the fan is out of place and did not spin to cool the engine, spoke with great honesty and the price was fair and reasonable
