Pretty cool place! I wanted to make authentic miso soup so I literally went up to a worker and asked how they make it at home. He showed me everything and the miso turned out sooo GOOD! Def worth a visit. It’s def different then an American grocery store so you have to go in open minded. I’m always finding some interesting snacks.
I come to this store at least twice a month. And you can find a lot of stuff that you wouldn’t find in our typical grocery store which so great. Compared to other Asian markets this store smells much better.Ops 🤭sorry (Boo-Han). I also like the restaurant they have in their food court area.Theres something i notice about the place that serves Taiyaki. They give more filling to other’s. Like dbl to triple the amount.I also noticed something
Let just say that I was very impressed during my visit ! This is my second time going there but my first shopping trip was to grab one item so it was quick . This time I checked around and they have almost everything ! They even have fresh tilapia, fresh produce, several kind of rices and a lot of international stuff. Their customers bathroom was well maintained and clean .
Terrific produce. Gentlemen makes delicious Kimchi pancakes. Good supply and types of ramen noodles.
South Tacoma Way is an embarrassment of riches when it comes to Korean Markets. Pal-Do is a really good Korean market, you will find the ingredients you need and the food court area has some nice spots.
My friend insist on shopping here over hmart due to lower pricing, but I didnt really feel like I was saving money shopping here. The store feel older and darker than Hmart and makes me feel little depressed shopping here.
Best kept secret for Asian cooks. I count 8, EIGHT! aisles dedicated to sauces and pastes of chilis and bean and flakes of every variety. If you need a specific Asian sauce, they probably have five varieties here!
Love the fishes they are a good sweet treat and they have other delicious things!
It’s our first time going to Pal-Do but definitely not the last! I can’t help but to compare it with H-mart. With regards to variety of choices in the produce and groceries, I think both Pal-Do and H mart has about the same level of variety, maybe a little bit of an edge on H-mart BUT the upside on Pal-Do is the prices on the produce which is the cheapest we have seen so far. This place is definitely great for wholesalers and or restaurants since they sell the biggest canisters of soy bean paste I’ve seen so far 🤣 among others. They have bigger aisles so it is easier to go around compared to H-mart.They also sell a lot of Filipino goodies/products which we haven’t seen in other stores, so it was definitely worth our 30min drive from where we live.If you like seafood, this is also a great place to go, although the live seafood is limited to tilapia and crab (forgot the species there today). Having your fish cleaned/cut is a breeze. The Korean pancake corner by the seafood section is a treat! They have a proper bakery by the entrance of the market which sells a variety of Korean pastries and cakes that looks delicious but didn’t try some today. A plus for us where the food stalls inside the mart, which offered Japanese, Chinese and of course Korean food. We dined at the Nak Won Korean stall and the food was delicious, price is reasonable and the servings were generous but what made it extra enjoyable to dine there was the Korean food attendant at Nak Won. She was very attentive and extra pleasant!Till our next visit!
Huge market!! Theres a sushi cafe at the back and I had two choices and both where excellent. I will go back and check out there Asian food too beyond The sushi Cafe.
It was my first time there and having been told of just how big it was inside, I thought it was an exaggeration. I was wrong.Love the variety and abundance of everything.
I love wandering through Pal-Do looking for new and unique ethnic food items that cant be found in the typical supermarket.
I saw some neat crabs here, so that was pretty tight; I hope we get to hang out again.
Holy cow! What an incredible selection, and the staff and just the other shoppers were so nice and polite and unbelievably helpful! Would so go back here!
2 starsWhy? They better are than their neighbor H-Mart... least they try...Biggest reason why I go to Pardo is they have good bakery and ... I think thats it.P.S. I had real bad experience with their Chinese food court, they not recommend.
We just went for a few quick things and were very impressed by the selection of meat (short ribs) and seafood! We ended up buying a striped bass which they cleaned (scaled and gutted); ready for frying up. We also got some veggies and a large jar of uncut kimchee (we prefer uncut to pre-sliced just for the flavor). Definitely will be returning to this store.
Has the usual sundry pan Asian goods with (obviously) a focus on Korean goods. However. Its feeling a bit tired and run down. Could use some lovin up.
Its a clean place and its nice to shop for Asian goods.
There are many delicious Korean food ingredients. Kimchi, Bulgogi, Ramen, Galbi, etc.
I always find something unusual or unique in this store. The prices are reasonable too. If you find something you really like, buy it now because it may be gone when you return. Friendly staff.
When I come here I get all the things I need that I cant find in a normal supermarket. I love it here I can spend hours here.
Great price and selection of korean and Asian produce and groceries my place of choice to get goods
A bit pricey but clean and fresh. Definitely going back.
I like this store. Its definitely an Asian market, so it wont be all folks like me taste (middle aged white dude). But for food you cant find anywhere else, stop in. Everything from fresh seafood, to snacks not found at Wholefoods, this place is great. I dont read any Asian languages, but the folks that work there are really helpful. They have a wide variety of alcohol as well, from traditional Sake to Japanese and Chinese beer, if youre a foodie or looking for something different in the way of wine to serve your guests next time we can get together, this is the place to shop.
Weve been to the taiyaki bakery once before and it was good. Now, we ordered (10) of the Nutella taiyaki and only received 9. Of the other anko-filled ones that we ordered, all 5 were completely empty - no filling at all. What a rip-off. Best to avoid now.
The vegetables are fresh, meat and fish too. There are ready made food and a stand to make Japanese snack. There are food stalls too as well as a backery with large selection of North Asian style buns and dessert. There are clothing store. Accessory and drug stores too.The market is not sufficiently heated.
All the food in the food court is delicious, the staff are helpful in the grocery, and its a great place to find a variety of Asian staples and specialty goods.
Fantastic Korean market with fair to low prices, large fresh and frozen sections, lots of dry goods, kitchen supplies, and a variety of food vendors in the cafeteria section. If you can catch the dumpling vendor when its open, do so!
Store is bit run down. There isnt as much variety as there use to be, but still a good place to get some of you Asian needs.
The green produce has gone down hill to the point I wont buy any of it. I used to go here because the green produce was so fresh. Its extremely wilted, and even has dried out yellow or brown leaves now. Everything else in the store is great!!!
For all of your local Korean & other Asian food needs. They have many of the actual authentic brands that you would see in a supermarket in Seoul.
This place has it all. Great food and grocery choices. And that bakery...designed to ruin your diet. Youll love it.
Wide variety of products, plenty of parking, nice layout, bakery on premises, and restaurants in back!
So much selection and so much to see! They also have a bakery right at the front with awesome cakes and pastries. We got some drinks and snacks, but also want to go back to get some ramen because they had a whole isle just for that!
Wonderful authentic korean market, very affordable, best seafood. has been around since i was a toddler!
Nice Asian Market with lots of variety.
All asian place to buy Asian style of food. Great place to eat also.
Great prices and selection! We drive 50 minutes to get the essentials for our Korean recipes.
Found everything I was looking and this store offers everything loved it.
Everything is fresh and alot of selection
Primarily Korean grocery store with some Japanese, Filipino and Thai products. I might have missed some but once youre there youll see why. Its overwhelming! The shelves are filled with items and there are additional aisles with home cooking items stacked for sale. The stores around the sides werent open when I went. But, I think I saw a tailor, florist and salon. Also, there is a decent bakery.
Great prices, fresh produce and meats. Easy to navigate and clean! Definitely recommend for produce and Korean groceries
Love the variety of hard to find veggies and ready made varieties of kimche. The staff us friendly and helpful for those of us who only speak English.
Great selection and one of the only places Ive found that has lumpia wraps.
I always come here for my groceries. The place is well maintained and roomy. There is a wide selection of products. I come in with 10 things to buy in my list and always come out with 20 or more! You can never have enough ingredients in your pantry and fridge. ☺️ They have sales Friday to Sunday. ✌🏼
Awesome produce section. (Like beyond any store around) the selection is huge, quality items, and great prices.
Lots of seafood fresh and frozen. Definitely a place to find ingredients to make a Korean meal.
Whats understood doesnt need to be explained...
Great experience every time. Produce always has wonderful prices and selection. Great way to stock up for making simple and nutritious meals.
Pick my groceries here every week.Smiling young cashies and a very stern looking guy(supervisor?) Near them
Great store for Asian foods, meats, and produce. Always an adventure to wander through the store.
I dont care if youre white. Black. Asian. Mexican. Everyone needs to come here . Amazing place amazing people. Love it here.
Hands down my favorite one-stop shop for Korean and Chinese foods.
Great variety and good prices can be found. I was amazed at the variety of mushrooms available
I just really love this store. There is strong focus on Korean and Japanese products, with some southeast Asian items. The seafood and meat quality is very good. If you start watching Maangchi on YouTube and need ingredients to make that Korean dish that youre inspired by, this is the store that has all the things you need. There are many side shops and businesses, one of which sells kimbap, which resembles sushi but its not sushi, and omg its so delicious and it is the #1 thing you want to have to pull out of your carry on bag when youre taking a flight somewhere and youre hungry. If youve never been to an Asian grocery store before, just gear up to go, be receptive to expand your mind and learn something. You wont regret it. I promise.
This place is cheaper than H Mart. But, its products are just as fresh. You gotta try the fish-shaped cake at the snack corner. Nutella and red bean paste ones are my go-to.
Had to buy a few things that others stores usually do not have. Everyone was polite. However rare, I will end up going back again. :)
Love this store it has 90% of the items I miss getting from S Korea. We are repeat customers.
When I have a chance to visit Lakewood I try to visit all the Korean stores I can, even though I already visited a few other stores they still had a selection of unique foods nobody else had.
Love coming here to buy my mother her Korean food. Food court has a nice variety of asian style food, bakery and more. I highly recommend getting a delicious sweet bean bun made with a fish shaped molding that is sold in the middle the market side of the store.(More on the bakery: Their products are not overly sweet, almost similar to german type snacks.)
The store is huge and the people are friendly. There is so much good stuff.
Awesome Asian market with the best selection around. The eatery in the back of the store has some excellent food, and multiple vendors if you are wanting a quick snack or full meal. Nice bakery with beautiful Korean cakes as well.
Great market with amazing french bakery right inside. Selling authentic macaroons, cream filled pastries and beautiful cakes.
This place has some great food choices if you are looking to cook some Asian food. They have a great selection of beef, pork, chicken, fish, and other sea food. The produce is pretty decent, and they have great snack or drink options if you are looking for that. Staff isnt so friendly, and I nearly get run over evey time Im in the parking lot.
Very good to shop Asian food
Its an Asian market if youre white be prepared to be judged
Love Paldo- one of my favorite local haunts. They have an incredible selection of all kinds of things-- basically anything you would ever want or be looking for, no joke. I always buy their fresh-made to order stuffed pancake things - filled with cheese, red bean, cream and one other flavor Im forgetting - in the shape of fish. Loooove them.
I get way too hyped when I plan a trip here
Love this place, staff are super friendly and helpful. The Taiyaki hits hard, and the seafood is amazing. dont forget to try the sushi and Bibimbap in the food court. 😋
I will be coming back. I found everything I needed!
Family Deli (Side Dish House) is inside the Paldo Market in Lakewood. It offers a wide variety of popular Korean side dishes. A friend of mine strongly recommended this place many times, so I had to stop by to give it a try while visiting the Point Defiance Park. I bought two packs of seasoned pork hock (aka Jokbal). It was tender, juicy and delicious. Now, this place is my go-to place for Jokbal. I am a bit concerned about sharing my review because I know for sure that I will have a hard time getting the jokbal from this place if it gets super popular. One disclaimer - if you are a big fan of making Ssam (Korean Lettuce Wraps), get some lettuces from Paldo Market as Family Deli doesnt provide one. Anyone who doesnt know about the Ssame but still wants to try it, do some googling and/or youtubing to learn about it. It is very easy to make it, and you will not regret it!
Produce you have to check to make sure it is fresh, but great selection of dried and canned goods. One of the best Asian markets in the area.
This Asian grocery has almost everything that an asian households are looking for. I love the ready to eat Korean food in the grocery area and you can order fresh hot Asian food at the restaurant area.
Nice Asian Grocery store. Small sushi and beer selection. It will likely have what youre looking for and worth the trip.
That’s my store to go shopping for anything from my island I love shopping because it reminds me of home.❤️
Staff un attentive but good selection of items
I love the wide selection of asian and korean groceries. This place has more selection than HMart. It does get crowded depends on when you go (weekends) due to smaller footprint. Not a big deal if it wasnt for the pandemic.
Pal-Do World Market is exceptional! I’m very much saddened that we found this store during the Pandemic since it seems like the last two times we have been in there the whole food court area and the shops near the registers are all currently not in business/closed for shop, for now at least? The most exciting factor for me is that this store houses a wide variety of “PopinCookin” Japanese Candy kits, which I have not found locally in any other popular Asian food mart!! I even spent hours scouring the Internet to see where I might be able to find some locally and came up with nothing but Walmart and Walmart only sells ONE PopinCookin kit and it’s not even the best one. Pal-Do had a very decent handful to pick from and they’re also sold at a price point that is wonderful and also fair. If I were to have been forced to shop online for this item even on Amazon, even on eBay, even on the manufacturers website or other Japanese Candy retailers online it would have cost me at least twice what I pay here for one kit alone and/or I would have to purchase these in packs of five or more kits (also at twice the cost per kit), so this is really a special feature for me! As for everything else, you’ll find it here if you’re looking for it elsewhere with no luck, of that I am sure. This market is large and has so many isles packed full of pretty much everything you probably like to buy at Asian style markets and then some things you haven’t found anywhere else too. The expansive varieties of products here has made this Asian market my primary go-to market because of the things I’ve found here that I have never seen before, and because of the large inventory. Funnily enough I spied even a small American refrigerated section with some American brand butter, milk, coffees, and the like. There’s something here for everybody! However, I am not surprised we didn’t know about this marketplace a long time ago only because when we found it online and took a day trip out to go see what they sold we found that the parking lot was tucked away in the back of some other businesses...you wouldn’t even know it was there at all if you didn’t already know what you were looking for I feel like. But I’m so happy we checked it out on a whim because it’s our favorite place to shop. There’s no doubt they will get plenty of business from us in the future. And the security guard is super nice as well!
Pal-do is excellent. Check out the sides that are premade they are really good. The staff is really nice and helpful!
Love there bakery 😋 yum!
Best cake in town!
The produce is very good and lots of variety to choose from. Prices are great and their customer service has always been great.
Its a great place to shop for Asian food varieties.
The Bakery Department always has devorated cakes for all occasions! They specialize in cakes and not necessarily pies. The store has many different Asian foods and the cooler wall will have you picking more than a couple different drinks to try! Thank you Pal-Do World Market!
Nice and clean authentic food for great prices
Customer service was good for a grocery store decent-sized selections of Asian Foods seems like they have sauces Korean and Chinese sorted out differently. I saw quite a few organic items as well if thats your thing. They have a section with pots and pans, at least four restaurants inside of the store, a bakery, electronic store, a Beauty Supply shop and the male bathroom was clean.
Found parking, everyone was covid compliant. Ordered Sushi, delic.
I am not familiar with this 🏬🏪. Staff was very patient & helpfull in finding what I wanted.A 5 star ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ score is recognition for good customer service.
