This Ace Hardware store is outstanding. The store is kept clean and the staff are so helpful. For such a small store, they stock an amazing array of useful items. You can find items here that you cant get at the big box stores and the prices are reasonable.

Quiet, clean, variety of choices for things to eat and/or do. Great weekend day destination. Get shopping, laundry and lunch all without changing parking lots!

Just came in today 1/9/21 and gosh I think his name was Steven or Even?. Well hands down amazing customer service. We came in to look for a simple screw to a pot lid for my mother inlaw. We walked in not planning on needing or asking for help just going to go to the screw section and call it good. But he stopped us asked us what brought us in and walked us right over and took the lead and gosh he knows his stuff! in our minds a simple crew, well he said your going to want stainless steel so it doesnt rust etc... and we got a new nob also. Long story short he was amazing he deserves a raise!!!!!

I have always preferred Ace Hardware stores over the big box stores for many reasons but mainly I appreciate the friendly knowledgeable staff.

Ace Hardware is a great alternative to Home Depot and Lowes. If youre looking to get in and out of the store quickly or are just looking for items such as individual screws, washers, nuts and bolts without having to buy a pack of them then Ace is the place. I really like being able to go in and by one or two screws for exactly the size that I need. They have a very large selection and all kinds of these types of things. Although, I still use both Home Depot and Lowes I do like Ace for a quick pick up and various small items.

Dont go there anything near closing time! And if you look how i look you are most definitely going to be watched Xtra!

Love coming here for the little odds and ends whenever Im tackling a project.

Friendly atmosphere and great customer service

They always have employees who know what they are talking about. Personally, Im willing to pay a little bit more for the expertise and quality of service here.

They did have what I needed which is great.My frustration is that they are open during covid, but when I asked if they had a restroom I could use, the checker had to call a manager to ask and then I was told no they did not have one for customers.This means one of two things from my perspective, either they dont have a clear protocol - the employees dont know the rules or they decide on a case by case basis whether to let a customer use the restroom. I am not sure what the issue was.I will be going to Home Depot in the future where their employees receive a little more training and they have restrooms for paying customers.

Ace is my go-to for last minute or hard to find items. The employees have always been super nice and helpful!!!!

Customer Service was great to work with when we called and the sales person went out of their way to help us find what we were looking for.

They have a little of everything, good brands; can order online to ship there if not finding what you want. Rewards arent half bad either.

I went in today looking for a specific piece of hardware. PJ was at the register when I walked on and was so friendly! She knew EXACTLY where to find them and described the location perfectly for me. I love coming to this store. It truly is my neighborhood hardware store as I live withing 1/2 mile of the Oakbrook store. .

A little more expensive than Lowes or Home Depot, but I would have spent the money in gas going to one of these big box stores.

Much easier to shop here than the big box stores but they dont carry the variety so I call ahead to see if they have what I want. Otherwise always good service and eager to please with staff available to point you in the right direction.

I like this hardware store. Helpful folks, decent prices. I brought in my screen door for repairs, after a discussion with the employees realized that it would be more cost effective to replace it. They were very helpful and went out of their way.

Best hardware store in the area. I love going into Ace hardwares. they always have what I need at the time I need it for basic repairs around my house. Thats the only reason I really gone in so I cant speak to more. Friendly helpful service usually not extremely busy. If you live in the area of the store Id rather go here than Lowes or one of the bigger box stores that has less variety and its harder to find things.

They are always great! I love their selection on single fasteners and like items. Home Depot has some, but specifics seem to only come in a box and I NEARLY never need that many. This particular location is super chill and the employees are always personable. 👍👍

Like this place. Its close and easy to get in and out of, including parking. Most of the staff are very friendly. Nice alternative when I dont want to travel out to the big boxes.

Ace is great! I have gone in and ask for something that they were out of stock on and they called another store for me and gave me a option to get it then at other store or theyd have it tomorrow. Now thats a neighborhood store!

Very helpful! Needed to return an item to swap with another. Didnt have my receipt. They looked it up and swapped it out. Customer service was on point.

Great place to get your keys made

We come here whenever we can (vs a Lowes/Home Depot). Staff is attentive and helpful, they stock local mulch and soil brands, and they sell black licorice at the register. Whats not to love?

I really like being able to order online and pick up that day. Very convenient when your crunched for time. Prices are fair and were the lowest when I searched for pool salt. Saved approximately $60.00 on a total of 6/40lb bags. Woo whoo.

Ace hardware as the hardest workers in town. Evan was very helpful. I stopped in right before they were closing but he helped me find what I was looking for. He never rushed me and was very knowledgeable

When you just need a quick item, you pay a little extra for the convenience. As they are less than a mile from my home (vs the 3 miles to the big box store), and it is a common item, then I will go to them. However do be prepared to spend a bit more than at the box store. Small businesses cannot directly compete with the big box stores due to quantity. But this Ace Hardware, the staff are super friendly, helpful and making shopping quick and painless (unless you count the pocketbook).

This is my favorite Lakewood hardware store. The prices are always comparable to the big box stores, and sometimes much better. Great customer service and always extremely helpful. Quality products and is a locally owned business.

Employee rude to me today, I have a heart condition that prevents me from wearing a mask and the female Employee was rude to me even though I told her Im medically exempt from wearing a mask .she said well its this stores policy. I told her policy isnt the law.

They quoted me a price 3 times. I researched for a half an hour. When I got to check out and it rang up 120% more than I was quoted, the cashier called to another employee for a price check. She then carried my saw back to its location where the other employee locked it back up. No apologies, didnt offer a discount, nothing. No one had the nerve to say a word to me. They acted like I wasnt there.So so rude. They seriously lack problem solving skills.

Normally, I try to patronize local stores, but I will never again go to this particular Ace Hardware. I understand that they are smaller, so the stuff they have on hand is going to be less then a larger store, but they constantly seem to be out of stock or not have staff on hand for essential services like making keys. They also make returning anything incredibly difficult or impossible. Worst by far, however, is the customer service. The people I speak to rarely know what theyre talking about, and dont seem to want to do anything. They were not even willing to help put aside a few bags of soil so that I could send someone to pick them up for me because I have a physical disability. Sadly, I have gotten better customer service at almost every large home improvement store Ive been to. It is hard to justify the higher prices when customer service is lacking.

I love this store!The people are knowledgeable and friendly, its like a step back to when I was a kid in the 60s - 70s having a local store you can call and have something ready or drop in and find it quickly.I dont have to hunt for someone that works there like I do at Lows or Home Depot.

This day they had exactly what I needed and its a small store so I was able to get in and get out very quickly and you can park really close to the door so its an easy store to visit.

I love this local hardware store, they go out of their way to help.

If you only go to big hardware stores, I would say, you are missing out on the best customer service, at any hardware store, by a mile, plus another mile, always helpful, nice, and you can find someone to help you anytime, if they dont ask you first, you will never get that from Lowes or home depot, an d they carry items neither home depot or lowes carry, like specialty items, so check them out
