People who work at Harbor Freight in Lakewood werent helpful or friendly. I like Ace much better. Workers for any Ace Hardware I went in the past 20 years in 3 different states are mostly super helpful and willing to help you. I think owner of Ace knows how to train people. Store was clean and they had things I needed.

Waited in line for awhile as a old man was giving the poor cashier a hard time. She handled it well and never lost her cool. He debated every price with her. That employee was awesome. People should behave better in public. She just ringing you up, she doesnt control the computer.

I was shopping for a coupler for my paint gun and wasnt sure which to get or if it even mattered which one as long as it fits. Not a single employee helped me and after 20 min of racking my brain I made a choice. I figured the person at the register would know but he did not. He got on his radio for help from the manager but the manager refused to walk over and help. So the cashier just made a coin toss guess for my question and said if I it doesnt work you can always return it. Anyways long story short Im happy with the item, it worked but not happy with the customer service given...

Harbor Freight is awesome. The prices they charge on products is unbeatable. Tons of different product to choose from and awesome, helpful and friendly staff.

I finally got tired of going to the gas station and filling up one tire with air. Slow leak but the car sits for long periods of time and this was the only option. Works great. Not as loud as people portray. Fills a tire with ease and blows a lot of air. For a starter set, you cant go wrong.

Good customer service. They guided me to the tools I needed and gave me a little advice on the job that needed to be done.

I went to return two sets of recalled jack stands and walked out with a couple of hundreds of goodies. Good value tools for everyone

Always tons of tools, they are cheap, thats because their usealy not the best quality. But you get what you pay for. Still give them 5 stars because they do not hide the fact they sell cheap tools. Honesty is the best policy.

Went in to buy metric sockets. No products available. Plenty of SAE. Had to go someplace else.

Cashier was very helpful in patient with me. My card declined because I had to transfer money and she was nice enough to hold my merchandise why I transferred the money over. A lot of these people get upset for wasting their time and she was totally polite good experience

Stopped by harbor freight to get a generator and trashbags left with both and was helped by the hot tattooed guy named Cliff. He answered all my questions and even helped load it. Which was nice for a girl to have done for her. Will be coming back to see him hopefully and get more stuff!

The guys here are pretty friendly, good employees. They help me unload a welder that I was clearly unable to carry myself. The only part I did not like is finding out after the return that they charge a $20 restocking fee now. It would have been nice if they would have mentioned that before the return was all complete.

This place had exactly what we needed. They always have affordable tools however it broke within 5 minutes of using it. There are no problems with many of the tools and here and they are affordable however also arent built to last. So this is the reason for taking one star away. I also know they will replace the watch pin remover no problem and that it is a specialized tool thats hard to find at other stores BUT they break way too easy.

We were asked by harbor freight cashier for our IDs when we went to check out.The Cashier treated us like we were criminals because we had 2 shopping carts full of items that we wanted to purchase. Cashier stated that if we didnt provide our IDs,he wouldnt be able to sell us any of the items we had spent the last hour shopping for. The only reason this cashier asked for our IDs was because we were paying in cash and that we had $3500 to $4000 worth I will never shop at this Harbor Freight ever again Im also calling Harbor Freight to let them kno that this cashier had no reason to request our IDs for a 4k Cash sale. I will be taking my cash and business elsewhere

Ok, Harbor Freight, I bought a compression tester and it didnt fit my car, come back and buy a $20 extra compressor that does fit my car and you still bill me a restocking fee? Buyer beware when I asked about their return policy the cashier said 90 days. He didnt say anything about a restocking fee (even if the tool doesnt work). Idiots.

Purchased a generator today and were verbally told that we could return it within90 days, “no questions asked” for any reason. We were concerned about the noise and were told again we could return it. Got it home and decided the noise was not tolerable so my husband returned it the same day and we were charged a $100.00 restocking fee. I am furious!!!! Don’t shop at harbor freight as they misrepresent their products and services.

Ive always liked Harbor Frieght.

Over the years I have bought their ratchet sockets and air impact wrenches. What began with the mining industry post Civil War is now available to anyone with a compressor. the Chinese made tools are fabulous. I like the twin Hammer impact wrench a $21 special. I like the 3/8 deep 6 point sockets colored. I used them to change the Cadillac front wheel hub and bearing. I like their 2 foot 1/2 inch Drive cheater bar I mean breaker bar -To loosen the lug nuts. Then I use an impact wrench to spin them off. I also like their electric 1/2 inch drive impact wrench. Some of their best tools have been discontinued like the low profile ratchets where you press the square drive from side to side - forward and reverse. Along with the thumb wheel ratchets. I stocked up on their rubber wheel chocks. I need them for working on the car when its up on jack stands. It will stop the V8 Jeep four-wheel drive dead in its tracks. So I really like wheel chocks to park my cars in the garage.

They have some great products but the store I was in was nearly empty.

HF used to be a convenience for random tools or or replacements you can get quick and dont mind breaking. The quality of the items I use from HF has dropped significantly, the pricing is all over the place competitive in some departments and silly high in others, and of course the ONE poor cashier trying to handle a mornings worth of customers ruining any time or money you might have saved. Just not worth shopping here anymore.

I know the reputation of HF tools, but maybe Im just blessed. I have a 12 miter saw that cuts perfect 22.5* and 15* angles and still runs like a champ. The chisels I got with the wood handles are holding up. And the chain saw I bought today was not only stupidly inexpensive, but had cut all the Aspen wood I picked up yesterday without a problem.EDIT: I had to remove two stars. The last several items I bought have had just junk quality. And the miter saw Id purchased actually had the fence lose its co-planar status. That made it wholly unusable for my purposes.
