I want to compliment the bakery department at the Giant Eagle at Detroit and Bunts in Lakewood, Ohio. I ordered a birthday cake which I picked up on Saturday, September 4th and as always it was delicious and beautifully decorated. Ive ordered cakes from this bakery many times before and I have always been pleased with the cakes I have gotten.

CAUTION: Make sure you smell any fresh seafood from the counter; went to buy whole fish on 2 separate occasions for 2 different types of fish and they smelled foul. One of the women behind the counter just wrapped it up but when she gave it to me, you cannot avoid foul smelling odor! Another woman went in the back for some fresh ones but as soon as she opened the container the smell was nauseating.

I went looking for nothing in particular, but there was so much I got what I wanted anyway. The employees are nice, everything looked clean, and everyone wore a mask.

I cant say much about the store itself, I rarely shop there. But, the pharmacy is AMAZING! I cannot count how many times Ive had complications with getting medications (mail order RX, drs not calling in, etc.) and they have helped me every time! Ive never had a bad experience with any of their staff, but I have to especially mention Angelina, Nora and Dr. Ken who are especially helpful and attentive.

I had a great day working a split shift. 4 hours in deli and 4 hours in prepared foods. The plain dealer horoscopes said I was going to have it to start day. Id say working 8 hours at Giant Eagle today was a ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ day!

I ended up with the loudest, most squeaky ever. But everything was very clean and sanitary. Big variety and stocked well. Male cashier was also very polite.

Shelves are out of items week after week of usually the same items. Especially sales items. Employees stocking shelves block aisles and pretend that they dont see you so you have to go a different way or ask them to move so you can get a product they are blocking. Most of the carts rattle and make noise. Thats if they have any available for you to use. Staff is hit or miss on friendliness. More often than not they dont seem to want to be there and lack any emotions with a simple hello or have a good day. Only go here if you need to shop and hope they have what you need but they probably wont.

I just realized something I should have made a a bigger fuss about.I had an employee once chase me out into the parking lot accusing me of stealing product through the self checkout when I had the receipt to show my purchase, of which he was working the self checkout.Ive always been miffed by it, but realizing now what that kinda violates, yeah. Thats not the correct thing to do even by policy. They have front end cameras to check on that.And he was working the front end. It was a little bit ago, but still.

The employee was friendly, courteous, and professional. Able to find all I was looking for. The atmosphere was very pleasant. I will be going back.

This Giant Eagle is out in Lakewood. Seems like a nice store. It wasnt too crowded. Nice people work there also. Go shopping at that store. Have fun!

GE is great! I have been using the Lakewood store Curbside Express, and its quick and easy! Order online -pickup next day. They put your order in your trunk and youre done! Especially during this time of Covid best way to get groceries. Friendly employees. My favorite GE to come to!

I go past the other giant eagle on 117. To go to Lakewoods giant eagle. In and out with my stuff I dont like all that imported and special stuff departments.

Sooo tiny compared to my usual store.

I have placed 4 orders for pickup or delivery and 4 orders have had missing items that weren’t refunded. I also find that 50% of the stuff shown online does not exist in store. Today, I had 16 items placed for order and 4 of them were available. Total waste of time and resources.Update: I tried ONE LAST TIME and I placed an order for Delivery on Sunday evening. It never showed up. The DELIVERY NEVER SHOWED UP. It sat In Process until the next morning when I had to CALL THEM to try to figure out what happened. It gets delivered 24 hours later and its missing items that I paid for. I spent time on the phone, I was told they would call back. That was two hours ago. The worst.

Such an unpleasant experience here, not only are the customers rude but whoever the old lady was who was checking me out, Shirley? maybe?, should just take the L and retire. Unfriendliest and rudest cashier Ive ever had. Will not be going back here.

This is directed toward the bakery dept.I understand everyone makes mistakes, and people have off days.BUT for the past THREE years they have been messing my cake order up. I have been going to them for my cakes for 20 plus years. BUT for the past 3 years they have messed up my sons cake, NOTHING SPECIAL&CANT GET ANYMORE SIMPLE. They do not get the flavor correct nor the image. Its frustrating when you give them the order a month early, every week confirming they have the correct info AND 1 day before pick up confirming everything is right... yet the baker makes it wrong. When you talk to the baker, they show no emotion and could careless. VERY DISSAPOINTING. I will be taking my cake ordered to RR GE, hoping I will get what I ask for!(There was 3 others having complaints about there cake WHILE I was there complaining about my cake!)

Good place to shop, quick and convenient. This is not as big as the other Giant Eagle Stores. Staff is low key, but helpful. Note: as of November 2017 this store is going through a major renovation. Hopefully for the better.

Always friendly and cleaner this time

I can never find anything in this store. The organization makes no sense. A lot of stuff is never in stock. The lines are ridiculous since there are only 2 self checkouts. The staff will stand there taking to each other while the light above my checkout is flashing because these machines stop working even when you’re doing everything perfectly.But it’s clean, and I always feel safe inside no matter what time it is.

I have been cursed out multiple times when i call into the store with any complaints. Very rude and hostile customer service.On top of this when i finally was able to return the bad deli meat i was sold, the woman behind the counter told me she was going to repackage it and sell it after i had bought it and brought it home then it sat in my fridge till the next day when i noticed it was bad. Why would you resell bad meat that had been handled by an unknown person, in an unknown place, in an unknown manner? Play it safe and buy your deli meats elsewhere!

My go to super market every time!

I went out of my way to go to this gas station because I have gas buddy card and app which it gives you gas stations to activate deals to get gas even cheaper when u use card and activate deal I get 20 cent off already by using card then I could get extra 5 to 15 cents more depot deal.. I get there and it wont recognize my card keeps not working the screen doesnt even work. I go to another pump same. They are ANCIENT LOOKING. ( the card is tied to my bank which has money ) never had issue anywhere before even in other states. So I tried several times. I go in tried with lady nothing she has no clue... I just leave go to bp I go to all the time in Lakewood on Madison and Warren activate deal and works fine. Seriously this bp update your PUMPS!! place id just run down all together 😒

They had electric chair which was nice with the pinched nerve in my back made shopping easier.

Did curbside pickup. Very convenient. Would have rated higher, but app said order couldnt be found. Called the store, they brought it right out.

Little bit expensive then other food mart

Not my favorite Giant Eagle! This location is much smaller then the 117th location! & They seem to have a lot less choices. I would skip this one & just go to 117th if possible. Way less crowded & way more options.

Out of stock on ad items. No sub, no rain checks.All my clipped coupons did not ring through, had to go back to get adjustments.Cashier was friendly, its not the employees, its the management.

Its okay, pretty much a regular grocery. But its expensive, especially if you have your shoppers card (whatever they call it) with you, thats just asking to get bent over at the checkout, oof...

You can get some deals with the card, but always double-check your receipt before leaving the store.

This store is right down the street from me and I love the store because as a senior in a mobility scooter and cant reach high for some of the items I need theres either a staff member or customer who always offer to help me. That sort of kindness is something that is rarely seen these days. Good job Giant Eagles.

Giant Eagle was great - people are still COVID stock pile crazy here. Go elsewhere for paper towels/toilet paper. The employees were being safe and very friendly!

Long time shopping here. Its remained the classic spot its always been.First it was Finast, then Tops. Now, Giant Eagle which once was Rini-Regos and right across the street.Definitely my go to Giant Eagle.

Thw store is just terrible but the stars are here for the lady who works front end, I believe shes a supervvisor. Shes always bouncing around. anyway shes always so extremely kind and helpful. Thank you.

On my third customer service agent trying to get a refund for multiple rotten items selected for my curbside order. Unreal! Save yourself the trouble. Lets see if this person is able to give me a refund. UPDATE: the third person i contacted is trying to send me back to the store. What a circus. So lets get that straight: i called the curbside number, they told me to call a 1800 number. 1800 was someone who was flatlined on xanax. they sent me to another person who said he cant do anything and told me to call the store. after explaining to this individual that didnt make sense, he has since decided he is able to issue a refund and we are now going through that process. Way to make ordering groceries impossible.

Tryed curbside service its ok but I prefer delivery

Still the same giant eagle its always been, dependable and decent selection. The problem is customers are not following social distancing guidelines, going down the aisles the wrong ways. Whats worse is some of the employees are doing the same. Today, Monday May 11th at around 1:00 p.m., the person in charge of wiping down handles and sanitizing things was not wearing PPE. A giant eagle shopper scooted really close by me with her nose out of her face mask. Its honestly not all giant eagles fault, Im sure the upper levels are doing all they can. Employees and customers could be doing more.

This is my favorite Giant Eagle. A shout out to all the girls and guys at the DELI specially my friend ( Karen) is actually LIZA, she is Karen From WILL & GRACE lol... the friendly smiles and knowledge of all that is deli is in their hands and it is delivered to us all with style and a lovely smile.... Prices are through the roof.No local competition.

Its a fine store. They have what I need for small shopping trips. But I will not get fish from them. You can smell the seafood when you walk in the front and that isnt something I want when getting seafood.

The aisles are narrow and crowded, no one follows the arrows on the floor, and my cashier (Kathy) was extremely rude and impatient after asking ME to wait. 100% will avoid this location in the future.

Prices are getting better. Love express curb service and home delivery. Well worth it for me.That was before this is now (1/9/19)Giant Eagle really is doing a disservice to themselves by allow their name to be affiliated with this service. This has happened before and this will be the last time!I mainly only order when Im getting something heavy. I do though at that time usually order around $100 worth of items. I ordered 10 6pk 16oz bottles of diet coke. How on gods green earth can they be out completely????This is not a mom-and-pop store! Now if I understand their process, and I do, if I walked in to the store there would be a shelf full of these six packs. But heaven forbid apparently the shoppers are not allowed to take them from the regular store shelves. I lived in Chicago and was delighted to use Peapod!They knew how to run a delivery system.Giant Eagle! Get it together or give up!

They carry a wide variety of items but the selection isnt as good as the super store on 117th. Theyre not open 24 hours. The parking lot is always very full. But they have a Huntington Bank with extended and Sunday hours and a Coinstar machine, both of which are convenient and close to home.
