Great coffee place. Located in a neighborhood in an old 1920 beautiful house. Nice places to sit inside and outside.

If you want some good coffee this place is it! I had espresso with steamed coconut milk and it was delicious. My hsuband had a small black coffee and he really liked it. We ended up with a 1lb bag and all the stickers they have. It is kid friendly they have coloring pages and board games for them. Lots of tables inside and outside. Workers were very friendly and we cant wait to go back.

Such an inviting atmosphere. The coffee is phenomenal, and the owner, Brian, is SO friendly. Made us feel welcome during our first experience, and we’ve been back weekly ever since.

Great coffee, great atmosphere, and a local business. The prices are very reasonable, on par or maybe even cheaper than Starbucks. Theres plenty of tables and a variety of board games to pick from while you enjoy your brew. I had the bagel with cream cheese and it was delicious. My bud had the quiche and he enjoyed it a lot as well. Supporting your local businesses is always a plus too!

Always a great experience at Hillcrest. It can be hard to find a coffee shop with a sense of place and personality. Too often, other shops can feel sterile, cold and uniform in their design and branding despite otherwise great coffee. Fortunately, Hillcrest breaks the mold. They have three different roasters to select from, which is almost too many. And it seems to be the living room of the entire Lakeland community; everyone knows each other by name and will strike up a conversation. With the pandemic I didnt spend as much time here as I wanted; Im finally getting to know the charm (and Hillcrests people) better.

Ahh, Hillcrest just feels like home..This is actually the truth, though, because Hillcrest Coffee is literally set up in an actual house in the middle of a Lakeland neighborhood ! There’s a lovely wrap around porch with outdoor seating and it’s super cozy and close quarters inside. This can both be good and bad. If there’s a lot of people inside it certainly gets quite loud.On special nights there is also live music from local performers, and that’s when the intimate space really becomes fun. I think the coffee itself is good! It’s not one I’d rave about but it’s definitely worth going and enjoying, especially sitting out on the porch if able.There’s also a special white kitty that likes to hang around the house and take in all the pets (and treats if you give in). She has let me pick her up too, such a sweetie. If you click your heels to return home, you may just end up at Hillcrest Coffee!

This is a wonderful place to get coffee and tea! I’m pretty picky about my chai latte, so I was very excited when I tried Hillcrest’s. It has the perfect combination of spices. The ambience in this establishment is cozy and comfortable. If I lived in Lakeland, I’d be a regular here.

I visited today for the first time. Wanted to stay for hours, lol. The ambiance, coffee and friendly laid back service were that good. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to enjoy a chain store coffee shop again. Now that I’ve discovered this unique little gem.

First time, really enjoyed the atmosphere. Sitting outdoors under the shade trees enjoying the Saturday morning. Wonderful coffee blends, pleasant service. Sure to come back and bring our friends.Came from the East and pulled up in front. Wasnt sure the place was open. Landscaping out front made the place look deserted.

Love this coffee shop! Fun atmosphere and great get your morning going drinks. Try the Macha if you dont like coffee. Great place to read a book a catch up with an old friend. Very positive vibe kinda place. Its been my daily stop for a long time now.

A house turned into a coffee shop. I think only pour overs and cappachino drinks of various origins. That type of place. Not my preference as I prefer filter machines, though my decaf mexican pourover was pretty good. It looked like the food options were limited to baked goods. People seemed to enjoy this place for both hanging out inside or on the patio. The most social coffee shop I have been to re patrons enjoying each others company.

Great coffee, great environment and service

Employees don’t wear masks while making your coffee and food. Touching the register the customer touches, then touching your food and drinks. Needs to be more sanitary at this critical time.

Beautiful and cozy little shop. This place can get a little busy on the weekdays or during rush hour, but the service is worth it. The owner/employees are extremely friendly and value your time. Great coffee and vegan friendly food. I highly recommend the magic bars.

Its a watering hole for Lakelands best. The cold brew is on point, and the clientele is warm and inviting. Its easy to feel like you belong here.

The owner is happy to make sure you get a drink thats right for you. The coffee is great and features Buddy Brew beans as well as local roaster, Patriot. Eclectic atmosphere with a old school coffee house vibe. Cant wait to see how they progress!

First time sitting down in this spot, to catch up with a friend....I always loved the coffee and atmosphere, and it was EVEN better getting to just grab a coffee with a friend and chat for a few hours (sorry Brian and others, I stayed a little long!). Definitely recommend this place...something about this spot is very healing, and makes you feel the community in Lakeland :)

Locally roasted coffee, live music, local art with a room to display the art on the walls.. We found this place completely by accident and we are so happy we did. Theres so much good about this place its hard to put it into a cohesive paragraph so Ill sum it up with this.Bringing it back to local communities, whatever it is, thats what we need.

Ive been to Home several times, and always order their coconut vanilla latte. I love that they have an oat milk alternative now! Most people come to Home to enjoy the cute aesthetic interior and latte art, while getting some work done or catching up with friends. The cafe can get very packed very quickly, and seating is difficult to secure. However, if you lurk around, you are usually able to snag a table as people head out. There are some tables that have designated no laptops signs, I am guessing they are trying to discourage people from ordering one drink and occupying a table for hours. Overall, Home is a great cozy spot!

Outstanding local business. My wife and I are lucky enough to live within walking distance of Hillcrest. Weve always received friendly service. Its a fun space to spend time in, inside or outside. My wife, being the coffee drinker of the house, has been happy with every coffee option shes had there. The chai latte is also excellent. I would like to see a greater variety of pastry options, but the pastries they do have taste delicious.

The cutest coffee house just outside of downtown. Located in a historic house. They have so many CDs and a record player. I had an iced coffee which was delicious and a bagel with cream cheese which was also very good. I have the pleasure to be able to walk there from my work and I will definitely be visiting regularly. They also have live musicians on occasion and I cant wait to go soon! Such a fortunate find!

The best coffee I ever had in Florida. There service great, good people. Here you can read a book in a very peaceful ambient.

Great breakfast place. I always feel fancy eating here for brunch. During rush hour it can take longer to get your food out. But it always feel worth it in the end.

I love this cute little coffee shop. On Thursdays they have local artists perform and stay open later than their normal business hours. It is in walking distance of my house and adds a nice stop for my evening walk. Good tasting tea as well.

I love the atmosphere here! Its a quaint little brick cottage. It’s a really great spot to study, listen to music, play games and even color! I had some peach tea and it was delicious.

This place is wonderful. The staff and owner are so kind and friendly. Their drinks are delicious. You cannot go wrong with a tea forte of any of the options. Their lattes are great and even the coffee of the day is always fabulous.

Cute coffee shop - a great atmosphere, especially for playing games and catching up with friends. Seating can be tough to find at their busy times as it is pretty limited. Mainly I ranked them at 3 stars for the limited seating and the very loud, very weird music they insist on playing. It can be tough to concentrate if you are trying to work as its all very experimental, moody stuff and played very loudly for a small, intimate setting.

Hillcrest is always wonderful! Wonderful coffee and snacks and interesting people to talk to and internet access everything is perfect and its in a warm friendly atmosphere in a warm friendly older house which has been impeccably renovated. Great porch area if you want to sit outside.

It has a unique styling. It is very small. About 4 people can sit inside and 6 outside. The coffee is fantastic. It is not overly sweetened like Starbucks coffee and has many different types of coffee that cause the drinks to taste differently. They have an option for almond milk, which is a huge plus in my book. Its a more familial environment. The workers there want to engage the people they are serving and make the user experience better. It is so quaint. Its good for maybe a deeper conversation with a buddy or two but isnt a place for just the get it and go experience.

Its pretty good. They do not have any frozen coffee drinks. The decor is not much to look at but the staff is nice enough. They have almond milk though.

Cute. A house converted into a coffee shop. The epitome of a homey atmosphere.Environmentally friendly. Because they use all their own dishes and cups for in house goods, they dont go through much trash. The barista told me they only use one regular sized kitchen trash can a week in trash.

Great little place with live music. I will happily be attending again, the only reason for 4/5 stars is theres not many kid friendly beverages. Coffee, milk, and tea is pretty much it. Either way we will be back, just wish there was a broader drink selection.
