This is a really great group of guys. The day I was there, I met 3 guys working. I only know Zach by name and he helped me extensively. They had full on conversations with every customer that came in and you can tell theyre genuinely enthusiastic about their job. Zach talked me through the process of my purchase, a spiel, hes been through a hundred times with real warmth and consideration. I believe that he wasnt just grateful for my business, but actually glad that I was getting into the same hobby that he enjoyed. Hes a good dude. Prices are good. They believe in providing value for their customers. My lower wasnt released immediately, but Zach told me he checks three times a day for all of his customers and hell personally call me when its time to pick it up.Thanks man.

I brought my rifle in to get a Cerakote service. Though I was told it would be about one week it turned out to be 5-6 weeks. I did have to check in multiple times to see what was up, but every time I did they were amicable and professional about my concern.At worst I chalk it up to communication issues between staff or maybe between staff and ownership, and/or the fact that theyre busy as hell, especially considering the logistics in the industry are finally starting to come back and the demand in the market hasnt decreased since Spring 2020. They comped me just over half of my total cost for the service without me having to ask for any accommodation at all, because they were genuine in their responsibility over the issue. To be honest, although I havent had many service situations like this, Ive never been so fairly compensated in response to a small failure, let alone ownership of the failure from any business that I can recall. They were authentically apologetic for the wait time and they owned up to it appropriately.Theyve also been working on moving into a larger and better location down the road from where theyre currently at while still servicing customers as best they can. Theyre very busy for the foreseeable future but theyre trying to rise to the challenge and I appreciate their owning up to my extended wait time. Its not going to slow down for them any time soon.The coating is beyond fantastic and they reassembled my rifle perfectly and even placed my optics exactly where I left them when they reassembled it. If I werent moving away from the area I would be doing more business with them in the future, hands down. Thank you for a job well done, guys. Im beyond satisfied with my rifle!

Stopped by with intent on buying my first ever items from them. Been in the shop twice before just day dreaming. Guys here are friendly, knowledgeable, and made me feel good about my purchase. Prices were right where they need to be and did not try to price gouge like most places lately. Very honest. Found my new favorite shop in Thurston County!

They did some parts swap for me it took a while because I #1 did not do my homework and did not have all the needed parts. #2 I dropped of the part needed on a Saturday and they guy I gave it to dis not tell anyone the part was there? A week later I called and they said they were waiting for me to give them the part. Long story short they dont communicate. They did however give me a very reasonable price.

The gentlemen in the store were very cordial. Helped me pick out a lower receiver. I asked which one he recommended and he didn’t steer me in the direction of any of the more expensive ones but let me know the cheaper one was just as good and that he himself have done several builds with the lower he suggested. He also let me know that if I had any questions or concerns and needed help with anything I could always come back for assistance. It was my first time there and I will definitely be back.

I went in to transfer a shotgun I ordered. I was immediately turned away in a rude fashion due to not being 21; however washington state laws say that I can have a shotgun after age 18 (Im 19). I tried to explain this and he said, not in washington state. Was very much so embarrassing. Will not be coming back.

Had a great experience here for a first time visit. Been wanting to get a certain rifle for awhile now, and Myles went out of his way to accommodate me and with the help of another employee built me the rifle in the shop. Very knowledgeable team, and they help you get the best prices they can give. This place has my business for sure and i have some future purchases already to go.Location and parking is really good, and its right off I-5.Highly recommend this place!!

They are really great. Best selection in the near area. Really honest and blunt guys, especially Adam, former Army man so he didnt bs me. Charlie suggested I buy parts and build one myself to my customized preference. I did just that. Great service, great prices. Will return.

Great new shop! I have been in a handful of times and customer experience was great!!! Friendly staff, excellent prices and solid work. Deal with these guys in confidence. Listen, like it’s been said, when they moved to this location there was some issues getting coating jobs out in time. I can personally vouch that wasn’t on them! The building had some delays getting them set up in the new place. I’ve had work done since and the turnaround was FAST and the work was great!Check em out! You won’t be disappointed. Hell, Shadow will even meet you at the door and walk you to the counter with a smile from the get go!The Kiosk is just the cherry on top!!I’ll be back for sure, thanks guys!

Excellent shop! I have done two transfers there. They do not charge for transfers which is awesome! Not the largest inventory but Everything is super high quality. Always a super friendly and knowledgeable staff. You dont get that holier than thou gun store clerk attitude you frequently find at gun stores here. The staff is willing to socialize and so friendly that my wife even loves coming in to this shop.

Great shop. Came in to do a transfer (free transfers are awesome) knowing that I was going to be purchasing a new sig shortly after and they were very helpful in helping me find what I needed. Wont be the last gun I purchase through them. The only area where I was disappointed was in the selection of ammo available but thats not really that big of a deal. Gotta love any shop where your greeted by dogs.

Im not really sure these guys are trying to run an actual retail store. Seems more like a hangout for the douchiest types gun guys you can imagine. Dont come here if you expect to find a gun as they only have maybe 5 available. They will act bothered by your presence and not be helpful in any way.

RIP off artists. I visited their store in February and put in a purchase for a S&W 9mm. I filled out the background check paperwork and paid them $400. I waited for a couple weeks to hear a response, but never received any. I called many times but no one would answer, not even after leaving messages. When I finally did get someone on the phone they acted like they didnt have the gun and didnt know what I was talking about. It is now July as Im trying this comment. If anyone needs a firearm of any kind Id suggest Cabelas or Sportsmans Warehouse. If you value your dollar, I would stay away from these guys.Update: I finally did receive my gun. Apparently there were new people who didnt know what I was talking about and the gun was sitting in their stockroom the whole time.

Called 2 different times. Didnt even bother to talk the 1st time. Called another time to see if they could order a rifle. They didnt even bother checking, just said their distributors all almostwiped out. I can get it from 3 other places though. Their loss. Wont ever step foot in their or their sister store I 5 guns.

The staff is knowledgeable, engaging, and actually friendly (really!). The shop has a reasonable selection of products that are actually useful/desirable and offers a comprehensive array of services. Their pricing is good as well! Keep it up Team SSG! Youre raising the bar for local shops.

No transfer fees! That alone speaks for itself. They are friendly, knowledgeable and go out of their way to help. Veteran owned and operated. They hands down have the best prices on items they order for you. In my few transactions, they have earned my business over any of the other local gun shops and big box stores. Great people with great pricing! Very informative, and willing to take the time to work with customers on any questions they may have. This is a A+ buisness, and I see this shop as the go to for anything firearm related for the very distant future.It is a veteran owned and ran operation, with pricing right, and top notch consistent quality service. There been has delays in the coating side of things due to the move. They are now up and functioning at 100%.I have had several pieces of work done by them, and communication has always been open and informative.This is my one stop shop for anything from new purchases to accessories, and I suggest you pay a visit.

Bought a used gun here recently, I really liked the fellas working and their shop space. Good selection of pistols and lowers! Heck theyre nice over the phone too.

I will start off with saying that I don’t typically write businesses negative reviews. I am a pretty patient person.I dropped off my firearm with south sound guns / Olympic cerakote over two months ago. When I dropped it off I was assured that it would only take a day to do but since they were moving locations it would be 1-2 weeks before I got it back. I was told I would be called when they were done.After 3 weeks and no phone call, I reached out to south sound guns and was told that it would be another 2 weeks due to delays with the move.After another 2 1/2 weeks without a response, I called again and was promised it would be done by the end of that week.I waited 9 more days before reaching out again. This time I went to the new shop and was promised that if I gave them 1 more week it would be done.That was a week ago. I am now writing this from their location as I wait for an employee go get my unfinished parts from their old location. I was treated as if it is a hassle that I want them back.I see from other products here that their quality is good. I can not tolerate the extremely poor customer service and would not recommend anyone to them. It’s too bad, because I generally support small businesses.

As soon as I walked through the door I was greeted. Then when an employee was able to help me find what I was looking for. While we waited for an available computer to do my background check/finish ringing me up. They walked me through the store and shared their knowledge on other parts I would need in the future. This place is awesome! The staff is by far the best I’ve worked with in this business especially here in Washington. They also know pretty much all the customers by first name! Made my process of getting my NFA items a breeze!

South Sound Guns is not your typical gun store. The staff there are very helpful and knowledgeable. Everyone was very friendly and willing to help. I have found my new local gun shot.

As a new resident of the area, Ive been searching for my new go-to gun store. After visiting all of the area shops, SSG stands far above the rest. A bunch of friendly guys that offer great customer service and competitive prices. What more can you ask? How about free transfers? Sub-Walmart prices on ammunition? A cool shop dog? Theyve got it all going on.

Nice enough guys but they do not communicate at all. In all the business I have done with them I have had to do all the follow up and initiate all the communications as they do not.

This place is a one stop shop! Amazing customer service. Veteran owned. They even waved the FFl transfer fee and i didnt buy the gun from them. That by itself has won my loyalty to use them for all of my local gun ammo and accessories purchases.

Good service and fair prices. I have been there a few times though when there were multiple people in the back chatting and the one guy upfront is busy with another customer. Two different times I just ended up leaving because I didnt want to wait any longer to ask my questions and didnt want to interrupt the other customer being served like a rude SOB so ended up at Cabelas.

The owner of this shop is a 10/10 overall when it comes to his customers in my experience. The employees do not exert the same level of vigor however, and it can be highly frustrating. For this reason I am walking away, Ill try again maybe in 6 months to a year and see if things have changed.

No questions allowed once he takes your money. Worst customer service experience Ive ever had in 35 years! Avoid place at all costs!Terrible owner, no customer service.I went into SSG on Saturday as a 1st time gun buyer. Im sure youre aware the laws in WA relative to guns are extensive and confusing, so I was relying on SSG reps to help me through buying and background process.The employee that was working with me was great, answering my questions, however, small angry owner was lurking and upset I had questions, he made me pay for my purchases before I even completed background process.My wife texted as I was completing paperwork and reminded me of my daughters choir performance that started in a few minutes. I told my rep and he said no worries can you come back after performance to receive background results orpick up items.I left store and my wife called right back to say performance wasnt for another hour, so I returned to store and told sales rep I was mistaken and had an hour. I went to look at other items waiting for my rep. He approached me to inform me my results were delayed. Again as my first time I had questions, thats when the angry hobbit owner came to us and yelles my business was completed as Ive paid and needed to leave, stop bothering his staff because others were waiting and hadnt paid as I did.I was blown away. I said Im a paying customer who has questions about the transaction. He yelled I was wasting reps time asking same questions over and over; which I wasnt, however, even if I was isnt it their job to answer? Owner kept yelling telling me to leave or get a refund. I requested refund as I would never do business with someone who treated me like he did.He was talking down to me and calling me names entire time he was processing refund. Then shorted me refund money, amd made a bigger deal that I actually wanted back all the money I had spent.Will never return.

THANK THE LORD THERE IS A GUN STORE THAT LOVES CUSTOMERS!!!!!I always hoped for a gun store that treats their customers with dignity and respect and SOUTH SOUND GUNS IS IT!!!I have visited this store twice and each time welcomed by the owners courteously and promptly helped with pure knowledge, these guys know their stuff. I came in for a transfer of a pistol that I bought from someone from ARMSLIST, and never felt like they were upset that I wasnt buying anything from them. They do free transfers of guns.They do the background checks and you have to wait 10 days or more for it to be completed, but, that is new Washington State law, not SSG doing.I am not going to say anything negative about another business by name, but there are a few that will charge you $35 -$50 per transfer. SSG was started by people who love guns and have a vast knowledge of just about anything gun and knife wise.I have read through a few of their reviews and was astonished by the negative comments, the ones who made the comments were speaking out about a Gun Dealer that in no way, shape or form a BAD DEALER, No, these guys are the best at what they do.I look forward to picking up my handgun after the completion of the background check, for some much needed range time. I purchased an 80% lower online and had it transferred through Olympic Ceracote/South Sound Guns. I had never been there before and chose them from a selection on the PSA website. I had an excellent experience and found they had several lowers and parts and also sold PSA kits in-store. As McArthur once said “I shall return...”!
