Workers extremely rude. Hours posted are not accurate. Never have I ever been treated so poorly 😢

That’s the third day in a row that I’ve been there and they’ve closed at 9:20. 930 and 905. They’re supposed to be open till 10 o’clock and they close whenever they want very rude everything is poorly stocked

Needed hand warmer packets and they were out at the time but everything else was fine.

Had exactly what we were looking for. Always convenient.

I like the store i shop there all the time nice people that run the store plus the store is cleen portige road in Kalamazoo

Rasheeda and Kina are a good team to keep the store functioning. Im always seeing the staff assisting customers to locate items.

They have a good selection of last minute needs. Some decor items. Dont try to make your home good housekeeping but they can get you started.Not as money saving as some think. I could really do better at Meijer and walmartIf you need it quick and now something close they work.

This place just closes whenever. Sometimes it’s open until 10. I just pulled up at 6pm and the doors are locked. There’s no point planning to come here because you don’t know when they are open.

-This particular store gets 4 stars b/c the employees are efficient & friendly rather consistently. Thank you.-However, overall there seems to be frequent empty shelves w/ carts of stock not unboxed in front of these empty shelves that are usually home to what I came in to buy.As w/ all Dollar General stores lately it seems, boxes stay parked idle on roller carts in front of empty or nearly empty shelves en masse, for large chunks of time. I dont know if its an issue w/ too little hours available for stock to be put out on the floor sooner or what, but it must be kept in mind that there are alot of stores selling these same products. Its all about presentation & if product is consistently unavailable then this will become expected and Dollar General stores will be passed over for their competitor stores. Bad business.

I continue to be disappointed by their digital coupons. Even the lady in front of me told the cashier she didnt use the digital coupons because they dont come off for her. I tried today, my digital coupons didnt come off. I wanted to use the $5 off of $25 and the cashier told me I didnt have enough for my purchase so I added something to my purchase and she said everything came off. I cashed out, got to the car looked at my receipt and three of my digital coupons did not come off and the 5 for 25 didnt come off. Im not using the digital coupons again.

We stopped here in Portage for some quick camping supplies. Including but limited to a click lighter and some pop. It was a little run down due to heavy foot traffic but I was able to find exactly what we needed and was looking for while visiting the West side of Michigan.

This is THE Best DG we visit. Stocked, Organized and the nicest people work there!

We visited looking for items that shall remain nameless, and we unfortunately did not find any. However we did find a few other items and got a chance to chat with the manager for a little bit. She was very kind, unlike other stores who try to act clueless and make you feel little. This manager was awesome. Also met a lady in need there and had the opportunity to help her. Very good experience overall.

Dirty and grossly unorganized. Could be a nice store to shop at if they straightened the shelves. It is apparent the company thinks their low price point means their customers dont deserve a decent store to shop in.

Had a nice time last week working here to help out with the remodeling. Turned out nice, cant wait to stop in and see what it looks like after the floors are done.

A good convenience store. The parking lot is a bit small and awkward and the store seems to be perpetually restocking so sometimes it appears messy. But overall, its a pretty good place to go and pick up what you need when your in a time crunch.

I say that if you want professional help and save money then this is the place for you. I love the way they help you and makes you feel welcomed. The staff here help you when they can and at times are little busy.

Store opens at 8 AM, get there at 8:03 AM and the store manager is just pulling up. Her hair was not combed and she had an attitude. Went in opened store, as I waited outside after a couple minutes (8:06) I was allowed to come in. I grabbed my 3 items got to register and Manager was already in backroom, had to wait a few more minutes then she came out on her personal phone and finally rung me up. This store is messing and poorly managed. Please hire better staff.PS. I wanted to give ZERO STARS but I had to give at least one to leave my review.

Alaya was perfect. Most people who are in customer service positions that deal with a multitude of different types of people can get annoyed or sometimes rude. But this lady kept smiling and interacting with me making sure for those few minutes during my transaction was quick and professional. I did not get that Next person hurry up is it time for me to go home rush interaction... a real professional if I dont say so myself! Deffinatly 5 Star worthy... Id be sure to do whatever it takes to keep her if she was my employee.

Prices are great... but the store on portage Rd is really dirty... Ive been avoiding it cause its so dirty that its starting to smell.

This location has gone downhill so much lately. It is so unbelievably messy and full of stock carts, you cant even get down an aisle. God forbid anyone ever need toilet paper, because youll have to move carts out of your way. Almost every shelf has things just thrown on it, or better yet, throw in a pile on the floor. Two people cant even get down the same aisle at the same time. It has looked like this since before Christmas. Every aisle looks like this. Not just one or two. None of the employees are pleasant. No one wants to help. I cant really blame them, working in this type of environment cannot be easy.

I recommend going to a different location only because it is extremly hard to get in or out of the parking lot here. Horrible location fof this store. Also it seems like they dont have enough space in the store for everything they put out in the floor. Usually always plan on waiting in line as well.

Portage rd locationThe store was a mess inside and out, the parking lot had rubbish laying around and garbage bins were over flowing. Totes in every isle, carts blocking walk ways, and ive been in Porter Potty stalls cleaner than the bathrooms. The floors looked like they hadnt been cleaned in years... at least the cashier spoke to me after waiting at the counter for nearly five minuets for her to get off the phone and make her way up to me. Its like this every time ive been there... always dread the thought of going.

The store has been dirty every single time I have been in there. The store is always disorganized and not well-stocked. Sometimes the staff is nice but most of the time they are rude which is understandable because its not in the best area and just about every time Ive been in there there has been some kind of theft. Its pretty seedy but its still a Dollar General thats about all I can say about it.

Was charged the full price for my 2 liters when they were supposed to be on sale and the shelves were almost empty of everything. It wasnt very clean. clearly this dollar general isnt doing very well with restocking and cleaning the store.

Quick place for snacks and Xbox gold they didnt have a 10 dollar one though so thats a flaw

Very organized and can always find what I need and the store is very clean

While it can be convenient to stop here, Ive learned to drive the extra couple miles down the road for something. No service, lines can be long, and place can be quite messy with new stock laying in front of the shelves. Youll never find more than two people working, and it shows. Unless youre walking, go the extra to avoid this place.

This is a great place to get cheap food, health products, gifts and things for your house. Kinda hard to get in and out of their parking lot but its not really their fault.

Bathrooms are clean and well maintained. Minimal Staffing but they do attempt to be as helpful as possible.

The store is filthy and chronically understaffed.I have not seen a garbage can in the exterior for the last year so expect to see the parking lot filled with trash. (They have placed a garbage can near the entrance but rarely empty it)The floor, windows and store in general are dirty and poorly maintained.Be prepared to wait to check out because its incredibly rare they will open a second register.

The store was messy and the cashier was on the phone while ringing up my order without greeting me. In fact, she didnt even look at me.

Not much difference from one Dollar General to the other except the employees. The cashier today was very nice and helpful.

The store wasnt in any type of order that made sense. It appeared to me that there was only 1 person was working in the store, stocking shelves inbetween cashiering. Perhaps her attitude was partly because she needed help!? Either way, she couldve been non-verbal for all I knew. Her eyes & body language told me that my attempts at speaking to & making silly jokes werent being received nor reciprocated. Perhaps it was racism. Im not sure. I will not return to that dollar general again.

I like this place because they have alot of things most people need at a fraction of the cost. Some are cheap, some are not.
