We always have a great experience at Fresh Market. My last visit was exceptional. They didnt have the pre made salads I usually get with the Pizzas. The young man in the deli went to the back and made two of them for me. I really appreciate him doing that.

Very nice store! They sushi made in-house daily, and it is fantastic. I recommend the dynamite tuna roll. Also their selection of meats is one of the best in East Tennessee. Nice selection of beer and wine, overall it is a 10 out of 10. Every grocery store should be this beautiful.

This store is unbelievably disrespectful- everyone is full of attitude. I had a really bad experience, the manager gave me a gift card to make up for it- I went to pick up the gift card and whoever gave it to me (some manager - tall adult male with short hair) tried accusing me that I was lying or cheating the store. A 50+ year old, white grown MALE felt the need to pick on me- a 20 year old WOC who was alone. Is this the kind of representation that The Fresh Market chooses for their store? My family has been shopping at this store for more years than I can count but that won’t be happening anymore. For the rocket high prices, no customer should be spoken to in a disrespectful manner or be humiliated. I really urge customers looking for fresh vegetables/fruits to go support the Johnson City Farmers Market instead. The vendors there are KIND, RESPECTFUL, and have more reasonable prices! If this is how the store treats their customers, I can only imagine how the employees are treated and spoken to by this specific person. Can’t believe it hurt this man to treat a customer with respect.

First time in there looking for something in particular and surprised to find it. Not your usual grocery store. Great coffee and candy selection. Have a lot of things other stores do not carry. A bit pricey but worth it in my opinion to get those items you cant find anywhere else. I will definitely go back.

Love the fresh market great grocery store, they have a very good deli. And their bakery is good as well. More expensive grocery store but better quality.

I live in Phoenix Arizona but I love this food chain. They have interesting selections and really an excellent Bakery. Also there vegetable selection is really good. They are however expensive and so I cant shop there as much as I would like to.

One of the pinnacles of uppity white folk grocery stores. Everything is expensive and nothing is particularly better than other stores. They do have some unique options, which makes it worth giving a look. Just dont buy all of your groceries here.

Everything and I mean everything is always fresh and delicious. The produce, seafood as well as the fresh meats counter are always excellent. The dessert counter is fantastic..... I could go on about the entire store lol. Go see for yourself... You will most definitely agree.

Staff friendly, deli great and well stocked. Definitely needs to be a rewards system in place and definitely need a senior citizens discount to be more competitive with comparative local grocery stores. Missing PR and targeting shoppers! Would have been 5 stars if rewards and senior discounts in place!

Has about everything one would want. A rather upscale place. Extremely clean & Huge Variety of things for its size.

Love the atmosphere and the music playing overhead! Great bakery selection, I really wish I wasn’t on a diet because the tiramisu looked delicious! The deli worker was very helpful when I bought smoked salmon. My only complaint is the inattentiveness of the cashiers. They were having a conversation amongst themselves and hardly acknowledged me and my husband while they were ringing us up.

Its like Whole Foods circa 2010. Kinda bougie. Classical music plays as the whole store is filled with the smell of coffee and fresh baked bread. Nice selection of the more expensive grocery items like imported oils and cheeses. I have not tried the single orgin coffee yet, but its nice to have a selection like this so close to home. Ill be back but only if Im looking for a high quality ingredient to make my dinner pop.

The staff here is always so helpful.When Earthfare was open, I felt like I was bothering them if I initiated contact - even at the deli where they were supposed to wrap up stuff for customers. After a long work day, getting dinner from Deli was such a relief from cooking... But I felt like Earthfare staff were agitated I even came in the store.Ive always been received at Fresh Market Deli with positivity. They answer questions or make suggestions if I ask.The food is always good.Im pretty sure they have the best bakery in Johnson City. They have French style pastries and desserts that are honestly as good as Ive had in New York or Europe.Even the cupcakes taste freshly baked there. (They have actual icing as well). Its the only place Ill eat store-bought cupcakes!They have a large selection of different dietary food options. At least 5 different milks, dairy, flax, oat, almond, etc. They have so many coffees and grind sizes! So many nuts and seeds... Ice cream, health bars... The things I want for special diet needs are always available.During this pandemic, theyve required a mask to enter the store. Everyone is always wearing one. Which is important to me since I have family members that are high risk.Classical music is always playing, the lighting is also nice. You can still see, but its a softer light that that of most grocery stores.. Making it feel nicer and calmer in the store.I like it. You will too.

Absolutely love shopping here. All products are artfully displayed. Everything is fresh. Great sushi made on premises. Fresh cut flowers, sandwiches salads and deli goodies.

Well, I went to do an instacart double order. 2 customers food orders. I started grabbing items and the items wouldnt scan. With Instacart you have to scan each item so that you know you grabbed the correct size, brand, etc. I had trouble with the first few scanning because there was no service in the store. There is also no wifi in the store. After speaking with the manager I found out that this is a common issue with all providers besides at&t. Me having T-Mobile I had no choice but to cancel the 2 orders. That is 2 customers that were impacted by this issue. Getting guest wifi to connect to would solve all the issues there. I now see Instacart orders come through and sit there for a long long time before anyone accepts them. I am guessing it is because those shoppers have already experienced the dead zone. Now my phone did show that I had a 4g or 5g connection, however the data would not work at all. Hopefully in the future the store will get a guest wifi network and it will solve all of the issues. After all the store is great and one of the best places to shop in the area, just not when you need internet to do so. Thanks and I hope this can help the store improve the customer experience.

Our go-to grocery store for top quality produce and other quality products. Bakery is top-notch, very friendly staff at meat counter. I wish we had one and Abingdon Virginia.

So many yummy things here

We purchased parties. They were dry. The eclair was not made with custard filling. Instead, it was filled with cake icing. The filled cupcake was also filled with cake icing and the icing was hard. It tasted like it had been in a refrigerator for over a week. Awful product.

A good store. The people here are very nice. The selection is beyond incredible. Unfortunately, the prices make shopping here regularly impossible.

I love our Johnson City Fresh Market! Every detail is attended to along with a beautiful shopping experience. Expect to find exceptional deserts, meats and a sundry of sauces and cheeses. The cashiers are extra nice and always helpful. The guys in the meat department are excellent at special cuts of meat and going out of their way. The pricing is very reasonable for the experience. Lighting in the store was great. Prices are a little above my head as a college student, but the store looks very good. The produce caught my eye, especially the way the celery was stacked on the shelf. Its the little things.The cashier was very friendly and complied with our strange requests to not bag any of our food. Staff was very helpful.

Fresh food and helpful employees. A bit disorganized with pre-ordered holiday meal pickup. Stood in line to pick up my meal. As with others in line, I then had to step aside and wait for receipt of the meal. The time waiting and observing a couple of new hires asking where things were indicated they were making up the meals as we checked in. Also, people that ordered pies had to go to the bakery to pick their pies up. They werent told that at pickup. Only a couple of people who checked their boxes and asked were told. I wonder how many trusted and got home without their full order.

Passed within feet of multiple employees, and not one acknowledged me or asked if I needed help -- even when I obviously was, even when I went back and forth from aisle to aisle, even when I was directly in front of two chatting workers behind the deli counter while searching for whole milk mozzarella - which I never found. Luckily a cashier did come to offer to check me out since there was so much stuff stacked in front that I couldnt even see which counters were open, but he didnt say another word, just handed over my change while already looking over his shoulder and wandering away. If youre going to charge gourmet prices, you need to provide gourmet service! Also, very limited selection of most products, and you dont even carry currants? If youre going to charge gourmet prices, you need to carry items we cant find at standard stores; otherwise, youre just overpriced. I like Fresh Market but they are expensive. Its different than a regular grocery store. Like the atmosphere and the fact they cut their meat in the store and have meat cutters.

This place is very pricey and feels very pretentious. The food they offer here is okay and definitely overpriced. Bought maybe five items and it came to $87!?!

This particular store treats their employees terribly! I know multiple people that worked there and how they were treated borders on abusive. Many are bullied out of their 15 min breaks they are legally supposed to take. They also make people stay hours after their shift was supposed to end and then punish them if they have to leave. The manager of the deli is a petty POS that will never get good work out of anyone treating them with such disrespect! I will never shop here again!

The Fresh Market is a clean, high quality, and more expensive grocery store. The workers are very helpful and only a little uncomfortable. If anything would be an issue, it would be the ancient machines that run as if they were made in the early 20th century, type-writer like devices; almost as bad as Food Citys!Still, I could recommend this place for that $20.00 meal kit.

I heard the bakery was outstanding... my sons birthday 21st was coming up so I went in there to get something for his birthday when I went back to the bakery I could find no one that wanted to help me they were all too busy talking between themselves Matter of fact I couldnt get anyone to talk to me until I went to leave and there was 2 gentlemen at the door that told me to have a nice day. So I will go shopping at Publix worth the drive.

Excellent produce and products - exotic fruits and vegetables. Their cooked lunches are very tasty and the meat from the butcher is tops! Some things are a little pricey.Update:Now, for the third time, Ive had to return bad meat twice and bad cheese once. The meat (boneless chicken thighs and baby back ribs) were easc purchased the previous day, as was the moldy store-brand aged cheddar. The manager was apologetic, but only in an obligatory manner. She did not offer compensation, as does Ingles Markets. Fresh Market had better up their game as Earth Fare has re-opened in Johnson City!

I would not recommend ever working for this company. I have been away from this company for about a month now and I have yet to receive my first paycheck. I have contacted corporate offices and contacted my store management team and yet nothing has been done. Store management team is not helpful at all. I have no other options but to take legal actions.

Some great employees & some mediocre ones. The great ones stand out. The others make you wish Earthfare was still in business. Pay attention when you get to the cashier. Make sure you are paying the correct price for your items. This is where a lot of issues take place. Their cheese selection is impressive. Some of their daily specials are also terrific.

Beautiful store but didnt expect it to be as small as it was. Speciality items for the holiday but sheesh the prices are higher than most stores. I needed cream cheese and I could only choose between regular and low fat. I wanted chive and onion. The prices will prob keep me away.

Always can count on everything being fresh

Very nice, but very expensive also. They mainly carry food, other than that only some pet food and a little detergent, and of course flower arrangements and beer and wine. They didnt have any sunblock. I tried a free sample, but I didnt enjoy it. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful.

This is a great, specialty grocery store with a fantastic meat counter, vegetables, fruits and a very good deli. They have plenty of prepped items ready for quick preparation at home. The employees are cheerful & helpful. The chain has required its people & customers to wear face masks from early in the pandemic. All the customers I saw today were wearing masks & trying to be careful about physical distancing. This is why I drove to Johnson City from Kingsport.

I could spend all day in Fresh Market. They have such a healthy alternative to other regular supermarkets. So many different varieties of cheeses snacks, fresh meats, produce and many, many more items to mention. Although a little expensive as most health markets are, they have wonderful sales constantlyI always watch the BO get one free promotions and spend no more than I would for lesser qualities. Sign up for emails and they send you the current promotions. The atmosphere is a fresh change of pace and all personnel have been extremely friendly and helpful.

The store in Johnson City was outstanding, and all of their employees were so helpful and nice until I got up to the checkout counter and was met by the the manager, Gary, I assume. He seemed to look me up and down before I walked up to the register, and I kept seeing him look at me as I made my way around the store. I felt very awkward in his presence during the checkout, and when I was leaving with my groceries he winked at me walking out. This is something I have never experienced in a grocery store and this gesture alone has made me question coming back to the Fresh Market even though I love all of their stuff. This is not the kind of behavior anyone should display while working closely with customers as it makes them feel very vulnerable and awkward in their trip.

High quality foods. Friendly staff when you can find one. Maybe now with nearby Earth Fare being shuttered, theyll hire some more staff. If so, I and others will give them another try. Otherwise, everything is well displayed, clean, with plenty of parking.
