Kay Jewelers in Johnson City (Soon to move to Vestal, NY) has been my place to find my treasures. The professionalism and friendliness we receive from Chloe and staff will keep me shopping for years. They make me feel comfortable and happy every time. Thank you.
Always an amazing experience!!!
Bought my ring here about 2.5 years ago. This is the 3rd time I have had a diamond fall out. I drive an hour every six months to get my ring cleaned and inspected just to keep my warranty active. When I went in today I was told it would be $78. to fix because I did not have the extended warranty. which I was never offered AND it was the first time I have heard about it. When I asked if I could trade mine in for an upgrade, to a ring that didnt fall apart, I was told sure but it would cost me 1400. My ring was only $800. So I asked wouldnt it be cheaper to just throw my ring away and buy the new one (valued at $800)? I have been a customer for over 25 years. I just want a ring that doesnt keep falling apart. Please just take this ring and I will be willing to pay a little more. NOT $1400.
Great service, very helpful and knowledgeable.
Excellent service and professional staff.
Apparently after vancots left the oakdale mall they dont worry about competition. sales people are arrogant only wanted to sell high end/ most expensive products must be good comission no wonder they are closing stores went across to zales and bought similar to what we were looking for and sales people were helpful
My wifes ring bent and they told her they have no record of her buying it there. Luckily she still had the original papers from YEARS ago.I would highly recommend shopping elsewhere.
Terrible customer service at the Oakdale mall location. Husband spent $4000 on my engagement ring that has needed to be sent out to be fixed almost every six months because stones have fallen out. I work in an office and take my ring off when I get home so its not like Im doing something to cause the stones to fall out. The women who work there offer virtually no solutions or any kind of apology and always have bad attitudes and act like you are bothering them when you ask them to do their jobs. I highly recommend getting your jewelry someplace else. Unfortunately we are stuck going to Kays because of the warranty on my ring but have purchased all jewelry since from Comfort and Sons who I highly recommend. They are very friendly and honestly their jewelry is higher quality and more stylish.
I love working with a few of the jewelers there especially my favorite person ever to work with(I am sorry I cannot think of her name, but she is the little older lady with what sounds like a German accent) she is always smiling and very friendly and remembers me and helpful to my likes!
Long review but worth a fair read.June of 2018 my husband, (boyfriend at the time) purchased my engagement ring from the Viewmont Mall location, horrible service to say the least but he left with a ring and was happy with what he had accomplished.A few months later (August maybe September) we ventured to the Oakdale Mall location in hopes of a better experience where we could pick out our wedding bands for our upcoming day. He explained that he had felt rushed with his last experience and that I had previously been sized wrong by Kays before he purchased my engagement ring, he just wanted to make sure we both got what we needed customer service wise and that we were happy with our purchases. We were assured they would make right what the Viewmont Mall location had failed to do, they looked over my engagement ring and told me I had lost me Leo diamond, that they would resize my ring and get me a new Leo, we shopped for a while, left with a necklace and a small band for me to decide if I wanted to keep it or go with another option for our wedding day, as well as left my engagement ring for repairs. It took weeks to get my ring back, Leo was never reinstalled, the ring wasnt sized correctly so it had to be sent back out for weeks. Finally I got my engagement ring back in time for our wedding... still no Leo but I was assured I could bring it back after the wedding and get it fixed (we purchased the warranty) so we waited.Recently Ive visited the store to make sure I am keeping my warranty, and mentioned I would like to finally send my ring out for repair, and to be plated again (white gold), as well as get my wedding band soldered to my engagement ring... crickets, of course, just the longest process, griping, groaning, no assistance what so ever, I probably could have sent it to the local plating house and had it back without any problems when it isnt even their jobs.Needless to say, I am still waiting to get my rings sorted correctly, If they would have refunded us I probably wouldve went somewhere else earlier in the process but now there is too much sentimental value in what I have.If someone is simply looking for a necklace or earrings this would be the place to go, or simple jewelry, otherwise, dont take shortcuts, go to an actual jeweler who can work on your rings in house and provide you with customer service in a field they are an expertise in. Kays is just a retail storefront with employees pushing products, they do not do the work in house, and they cant get you what you would like if it is out of their norm. Your sentimental items and special day jewelry should be handled with the utmost care and respect, save a little extra and make it count. It is worth it in the long run..
My fiancé and I have had an absolutely terrible experience. Kays has ruined this time of our lives that should be stress free and wonderful. After being proposed to in November I have lost THREE stones in my engagement ring and spent countless months without it because it is in the shop. At this point, I have been asked to give them one more chance...THREE times wasnt enough for them to give us our money back.Really hoping this company and their customer service will step up and give us the money back for my ring so I can go elsewhere and have a better experience. So disappointed that the ring of my dreams now has to be scrapped because of terrible service and repairs.
My ring bent and i went in to get it fixed. They said i should of bought the extended warranty even though i was never offered it. I asked them if i could purchase it and they said no. I gave up and left. A couple weeks later, (which is now) i go in to get my ring fixed and they said it’ll be $30 + apparently $45 just to get it re sized?!?!?! so now i’m up to $80 when i was quoted $30. Then i asked about a warranty again and they said yes but i’ll still have to pay for the ring to be fixed. What’s the point of me paying for the warranty and getting it fixed. If i had thought about it i would of just paid for the warranty and a week later came back with my broken ring! rip off artists.
I purchased my engagement ring, wedding bands, and two necklaces for my fiance here. I would suggest this place to anyone!
Women are incredibly stuck up. Not worth your business.
