Due to Covid and other extreme traumas I endured during the past few years I been paired with a emotional support dog . Legally I can go anywhere with him . Today I was so disappointed that the supermarket that I shopped for so long in my neighborhood right after I came inside the cashier insinuated that I should leave because the other customers could feel uncomfortable after I had answered and told her that this is my emotional support dog and I have panic attacks without him. I was then approached by the manager who after once again I told him the dog was legally allowed to be with me all the time everywhere he would not leave me alone I had to beg him because he couldn’t understand that I was panicking and that affected my breathing . I even tried to talk to him afterwards so he would not make the same mistake again with another person that struggles with mental health. But he did not even try to understand. I will take my money else where. Oh and May is the month for mental health awareness
Beware what you buy! Some produce obviously have mold or rotten parts, but just make sure to check over the food you choose and expiration dates you should be fine. The meat is priced well, especially since they always have some on sale. Again, check expiration dates.
Its a convenient, small grocery store catering to the locals of differentnationalities. Theres a lot of Hispanic food items, Chinese, Korean, Caribbean and American goods. I just found their meat items to be a dollar or two higher, than other stores. Their staff is very helpful and skilled at doing different jobs. Oh, and they also have a lotto and deli sections, for those in a rush. The only thing I would like to see scrubbed and cleaned is their poultry section . Otherwise, I would still support this business.
Great selections. Ran in here last minute on Thanksgiving day and found everything I needed. I was pleasantly surprised. Great prices! Only downside would be no private parking but wasnt an issue for me on this day. Will definitely return.
Great neighborhood grocer with excellent produce prices! I was able to find everything that I needed, and was very happy with the selection of fresh fruits and vegetables available. I plan to try their meat selections at a later date; I know some of the reviews here were a little harsh. Just from eyeballing the selection and seeing what was available, the packaged meat I noticed appeared fresh and of good quality. I didnt see a ton of organic selections (Sorry, displaced Downtowners), but there were ample product choices in all departments and name brand products on special.
Poor meat quality. Old and always expired!!! Disgusting. Better off going to Walmart for fresh meat, because clearly this supermarket is trying to kill people. Completely unconcerned about the safety of their customers. Whatever you do don’t buy meat from here please
Excellent store and owners were very friendly and helpful. I would definitely visit again. 👍😁
WERE AND HOW THE PEOPLE IN THE HOOD WILL BUY FOOD. ITS GREAT AND CLOSE
Watch the dates on everything. Many expired products or dates scratched off (especially cakes and pies).Tried the cold cuts twice. First time, the taste was off. The second time, it tasted like insecticide. Threw it away.Very overpriced. A pint of Half & Half is nearly $5.00 while a quart at the local bodega is $3.00.Only go if you absolutely need something specific then check for freshness before paying. I’m shocked that the Health Department hasn’t forced them to comply with dates.
Its a fine place to get groceries but the place is small and hard to maneuver in especially if you have a cart. The produce section is kind of weak but with that being said its nice having a grocery store in the neighborhood.
Decent variety for a neighborhood grocery store. They dont offer any gluten free options though.
Prices arent bad BUT the product is rarely ever fresh and the meat section almost always has a stench so I would never buy meat from them. Its not a place to do your entire grocery shopping but if you need to pic up an item or two then u can go there
Nice little place with organized stuff.Easy to reach, easy to grab stuff and easy to go.
Hit or miss local market. Getting more choices for the new demographics. Pork bellies are well priced. Basics covered.
It is a good place to pick up last minute supplies. Sometimes the freshness of there meat is at question.
This place is getting better each day. Ask the manager for something (maybe a couple of times...)and theyll stock it!
Poor selection any day of the week. No 1 lb packages of grnd beef 2 days in a row. Not a shopper friendly store layout either. The checkout clerks are nice.
I find this supermarket to be reasonably priced being its in a central location.
The pizza is great. But Portas management has a bias hiring practice against Black DJs from the community.
I only gave 1 star so I could right the review. This supermarket needs to be inspected by the health department. The meats are not fresh, usually brown spots. The fruits are old and spoiled. The salads are also old and spoiled. I do not by any of these products nor should anyone else. Ive complained to the manager only to get excuses about everything. Its located in a poor neighborhood and should be inspected more. All people deserve fresh food.
Its convenient for me and the prices arent to bad either the food is fresh. Me personally I like going there for my items.
Not many organic choices in produce or seasonings. I moved to the area 4 years ago. I still have to downtown or Whole Foods it Trader Joe’s if to shop for organic groceries. Fine fare on west side avenue has some organic options but not much. And Éxito had less organic options. One had no choice but to only go there in case of a quick need to get something. But, in terms of great organic organic groceries at a good price the #1 choice food r me is still BJs downtown. Or Trader Joe’s in Hoboken.
Place is alright... More organized now, small and tight but has just about everything we need. We come every week.
Great small supermarket to walk to for your daily needs. Weekly specials help a lot!
Decent for if you need to grab a missing ingredient real quick but the produce isnt great and they dont have much variety.
Typical supermarket but I found it a little pricey. I paid two dollars more for an item I usually get at Target for $3.49. Ill probably just use this place to pick up milk and bread and do the heavy shopping at Target or Walmart.
They are friendly and cool for what they are, a neighborhood supermarket.
Near by where I live in. Good prices.
Nice lil supermarket, wish they would bring back the deli department
Place is pretty clean they have most things expected in amid sized supermarket.
Excellent staff assistance. Very friendly and helpful to customers
They have good deals. Their meats are fresh.

Good customer service. You can play the Nj lottery there
Well stocked to find everything you need
They need to do better the prices are to hight
Quick grand and go place produce is a hit or miss but convenient for me so I will continue to go
If your business hours are going to be until 8pm your doors should not be locked at 7:35 pm
A good local grocery store with all of the essentials you would expect but some items were expired and they are very expensive. Also the store smells and staff is rude too.
Meat department always smells bad! You can smell it when you come into the store. Have had problem with them selling bad meat, had to return it and dead flies in food racks (meat and diary, particularly eggs section).
The food and everything is always fresh.
The meat can be fresher but the people are great
It was a nice place. People were nice.
Convenient local supermarket with decent variety of goods.
Perfect local grocery store with all of the essentials you would expect
Not All That Great Produce Has Smell within & bread delivery in deli section has insects flying around. I went in & purchased Gain detergent, Clorox SMH and left.
Good products, i wish they had more organic
Its ok, somenitems are a little pricey but I can buy my basic necessities from there.
