Nice French style store

This is my first review for 2021 and it had to be for a place that I love. Madame Claude Wine is the best wine shop in the Greater New York Region. I havent found a better wine shop even in Manhattan so I keep making a trip out to Jersey whenever I need to buy wine.The wine shop has a large selection of wine, mostly from France, as the owners are French. They spend a lot of time traveling around the world to find small vineyards so I love how they try to support small, local businesses. Pretty much every bottle that they sell is under $25 and I havent had any that I haven’t liked. I also love how a lot of their wine bottles have handwritten tasting notes that tell you what food to pair the wine with.The people who work here are also really friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Theyre always available to answer your questions and do everything they can to help you find what youre looking for.Madame Claude Wine has a French bistro called Madame Claude Bis not too far away from the wine shop. I havent tried the bistro yet, but according to the people at the wine shop, all the wines that they have on the restaurants wine list are available at the wine shop so if you find something that you like at the restaurant you can always go back to the wine shop to get it.

This is definitely a heaven all those wine lovers. When craving good wine this is definitely the place to be.The decor of the place is awesome and they carry wine from all the different parts of the world. Though the place is bit pricey as compared to the other wine shops in the hood. But still I would go with four stars because of their exhaustive wine collection.

I love going here to buy my vino. Everyone is always helpful and pleasant. They have such an extensive knowledge about the ingredients in wine as well as how the grapes are harvested. I love it when they can pair the wine to what I am cooking for dinner. Great place.

Best place downtown Jersey City to find a great selection of wines, as well as some french treats such as cheese, typical french cookies, french baguette,...Plus they sometimes have live music performed by the group lead by the stores owner, which is a really nice touch!Outdoor seating available.

Upper end local wine / beer store with a small, but eclectic inventory of craft beer and wines. While their selection is not as voluminous as other larger alcohol purveyors in the area, the fact that they are in the neighborhood and provide very friendly service makes up for the fact that their prices are a little on the high side.
